Haven't been here in years. Did not realize under new ownership. Very pleasant gentleman took my order. Little slow in coming out with food, but I walked next door to the Italian deli and did some shopping. Chicken is still tasty but I did notice a few pieces were on the scrawny side. Cole slaw is still scrumptious.

Let's start with the good. The service was on point quick and ready to go. The ambiance reminds me of a take out Chinese restaurant so it's not a romantic date night thing. More of a take out or a quick eat in meal. The food was okay to say in many words. The shrimp was decent but it seems like the use the same oil to fry the chicken with. The chicken wasn't the best it tasted alright but I had better much better. The spicy one was better but spicy so if you don't like spicy food don't get it. Do I recommend? I only will say try it for yourself ibut for me I feel it's a KFC and I do not like KFC. Plus 2 thugs for $30 definitely wasn't worth it!

This place is very cute with a Grandma's country kitchen feel. We've been taking out from here for a few years. It's our "healthier" alternative to fried chicken without doing fast food. We always get the Peck which is 8 pieces of fried chicken, 2 sides and corn bread. The fried chicken is very good without being over greasy. The mashed potatoes are so buttery and yum too. The gravy on the side is alright. I love cornbread and theirs is pretty good. Next time going to try the spicy chicken.

Loved the food Loved farm fresh salad And the buttermilk sandwich Is to die for and humongous!!!!! The service thanks for taking such amazing care of me and courtne

Crispy Classic Sandwich Combo

I switched jobs and of course used the handy Yelp to see what's in the area. Yelp brought me here. I decided on the classic crispy chicken sandwich with waffle fries. It was very good! Both the fries and chicken were crisp to perfection. On the sandwich was pickles and sassy sauce. It paired the chicken very well. I also got garlic parm sauce on the side. It wasn't very good. It was too thin in my opinion. Sauces are an extra $0.75. I feel your first sauce should be free and then any additional ones should be charged for. Everything is made to order and nothing is sitting under heat lamps. When I placed my order I was told it would be ready in 15 mins. I was happy to hear that things are made to order..meaning that it's fresh. Both workers behind the counter were nice. Good to know there's good food nearby for lunch.

Newsday posted rave reviews over Buttermilk's Chicken and I've been curious to see what the hubbub is all about. The first thing irking me is the name, Buttermilk's. If the owners name is Mike Buttermilk, the name would be fitting. Is this a Nordic establishment? I am Inga from Sweden and this is my place, Buttermilk's Chicken. I'm heading back to home and decided to make a southern detour to Buttermilk's Chicken. Located in a strip mall, this is a small establishment for take out orders and there are a few tables for indoor dining. Except this is 2020 (now 2021!) and there is no dining, no touching, no sitting or standing inside. Place your order and wait outside. Once my order is ready, I set up my dining room table on the hood of my Jeep. The chicken is not greasy or overly fried. There is no over battering on my crispy classic sandwich. There is a nice sauce topping the chicken. My issue? The bun is huge! The single chicken piece was small and when it's placed on the bread its now chicken flavored bread. I removed the bottom of the bread and split the top to have less bread. And yes, with my fingers. On the hood of my Jeep. Oh, the onion rings! This is the part where you want deep fried goodness. The onion rings are fantastic, Made fresh and battered just right. If I had this place by me, I'd have more chicken topped salads. I would have liked to try the wings. Nice place, a little out of the way for me.

Nothing we would come back for. Fried chicken cutlets were thin and dried out, the bruschetta toasts were $9 for a small container maybe20 mini toasts, we bought to have with the tapenade on them but the oil used to toast them was rancid they were very old, must have been sitting on their shelf for months, $9 in the garage. Same with the bread sticks - stale, old and over priced. The pasta salad was ok, bit tasteless, rice balls had a weird sour taste as did the mozzarella balls. The meatballs looked like chicken meat balls they were so light in color several people asked me 'are they chicken' they were not, they were gross, mostly breading and didn't have any taste, they also didn't put any sauce in the container though in the case whenI ordered, they were down with sauce. We didn't try the several kind of olives or roasted peppers we purchased as we ended up going out to lunch elsewhere because after all of that wasted food, we didn't have enough food for everyone on the boat. I've never had a worse experience with an Italian market, what a waste of $140!! Better to make the drive to Gemelli's in Babylon.

If I can do negative stars I would . So completely disappointed in you , John…read more Maple St. Deli has been a huge disappointment, especially considering it's within walking distance of my home. It's a quaint neighborhood deli with over 100 years of history, which is why I kept giving it chance after chance. I've ordered from this deli many times. They have frequently gotten my order wrong, but I never complained. I simply accepted it and moved on. On Father's Day, I ordered three egg sandwiches around 10:00 a.m. I arrived at 10:30 to pick them up and still waited another 15 minutes. After spending about $35, the order was wrong. Again, I let it go. Today was the final straw. I ordered two egg sandwiches and a small deli iced tea for delivery. The total was $33 before tip. The owner, John, delivered the order himself. He rang my Ring doorbell twice but never knocked. We completed the exchange without issue. When I opened the bag, the order was wrong--again. I called and politely asked to speak with the owner. I explained that my order had been made incorrectly. Instead of trying to resolve the issue, John hung up on me. I called back three more times, and each time either he or his staff hung up on me. I drove to the deli to speak with him face-to-face. His response was simply, "That's unfortunate," and he refused to remake the sandwiches or offer any refund or solution. Everyone makes mistakes. What separates a good business from a bad one is how those mistakes are handled. I wasn't angry about an incorrect sandwich--I was shocked by the complete lack of customer service, accountability, and basic respect. After years of overlooking mistakes and trying to support a local business, this experience has guaranteed I will never return. There are plenty of delis that appreciate their customers and stand behind their service. Unfortunately, Maple St. Deli isn't one of them.

I got there a bit after 8am on a Tuesday morning and about the half the tables were filled with a mix of families, working people and I'm guessing a few retirees. Many must be regulars since they were greeted by name. I sat at the counter so as not to take the only remaining table for two that was available. I was greeted immediately and given a regular menu and a specials menu. A cup of coffee almost magically appeared and I have to say it was one of the best cups of restaurant coffee I've ever had! They have an extensive menu, everything from pancakes to waffles, eggs in every iteration you can imagine, to oatmeal! I decided on a spinach/mushroom/onion omelet with home fries a side of bacon and rye toast. You choose omelets come with one filling, additional are $1 each. The omelet was good but was helped by some salt & pepper. The home fries were tasty with just the right amount of onion but the bacon was overcooked for my taste though I know many people like theirs extra crispy. There were two waitresses and they both were friendly and attentive. By the time I was ready to leave every table was taken but there were still seats at the counter. Now I know why the parking lot is almost always full, especially on the weekend. If you are looking for Home Town restaurant with good food & great coffee this is the place for you!
