On our first day in Tahoe we decided to drive around the lake and check out some of the restaurants and little shops. I love checking out the small pet shops and we came across Hot diggity dog on this day. We decided to stop in with our little chihuahua and was pleasantly surprised. So much good quality food, toys and chews. The shop dogs were friendly and simply adorable. The shop owner was kind and willing to answer any questions and make fun small talk. The place was a bit dusty and barren on the shelves, but maybe she was awaiting a shipment. Overall I would recommend stopping in for some goodies for the pups or kitties! read more

Needed a life vest for my dog as I left it at home. Called up the store and Michelle said she would hold one for me. I showed up a few hours later but unfortunately the vest was just a tad too small for my dog. She was patient with me trying the vest on my dog and even checked in the back to see if she had anything else. She came back with one of her personal dog life vest and said I can use it as her dog had passed. She wouldn't charge me for it and only asked that I donate to her cause for helping other dogs (which I happily did). An amazing store with an even more amazing experience. The cutest little pet supply store in North Lake. It was my Akita's 5th birthday so we made the short drive over from Incline Village to see if they had any treats. To my demise, however, their "bakery" was out of everything -- looks like they had all sorts of specialty baked dog treats, that would have been perfect for my Koga! Bummer! The owner mentioned she was CLEANED OUT for Memorial Day weekend, and her baker just so happened to go on vacation shortly after.. However, they had a bunch of other knick knacks and treats in the store -- I ended up buying a wrench-looking toy for my big King Shepherd, 2 BIG pig ears, and a little lamb chew for my pug mix. The prices are boutique-ish, so more expensive than your typical pet store, and I don't expect anything less from a pet store on King's Beach in Lake Tahoe. The owner is a delight. Michelle helped us out and answered all our questions and was just a joy to talk to. She had 3 dogs that she so kindly let out in her side yard so ours could come into the store. She hooked us up with the bigger pig ears, and just seemed so knowledgeable about everything else. Thank you Michelle and we will return! read more

Came to buy treats for our dogs with a group of friends this morning and the woman at the counter was very rude as we walked in loudly yelling "don't pet that dog" as we saw 2 dogs gated. No hello, smile, or good morning. We left a minute after we got there. I understand there was a lot of people, however we had intentions to purchase food and treats for our pets. Super cute pet store! The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, and her pets were adorable! We stopped by to look for stuff to bring back home for our cat. There's a huge selection for dogs but a more limited selection for cat-related things. My boyfriend and I were able to find a few cute toys for our cat! There are two shop cats! This is a very nice small pet store on Lake Tahoe, actually in the nice small town of Kings Beach. The owner is very personable. There are plenty enough of essentials for your pets and plenty of non-essentials, too. The atmosphere is pleasant as well. Think of this as your local ACE Hardware for pets. You will not have the warehouse full of inventory like the big box stores, but you will still have plenty of products that you will need and want and plenty of good, friendly service to go with it. Even if you don't plan on buying anything, stop in for a visit. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business?
