I have been a fan of Korean Fried Chicken since trying it at several different spots in Manhattan years ago. The first spot I tried was Bonchon on 38th Street in the Hell's Kitchen area of Manhattan! Several years ago a Bonchon spot opened in downtown Greensboro, which I have eaten at several times and found the chicken to be every bit as good as I remembered it to be! So I was excited to give this spot a try. I chose the 4 PC Wing Meal and a Potato K-Dog. The meal comes with fries and some pickled radish - the cost was $11.99, and a fountain soda tacked on another $3! There is no table service here, you queue up to order at the register. I was told that my order would take 5 or 6 minutes, instead it took over 20 minutes - and I was the only customer in the place! The wings (flats only) were of a decent size but short of the jumbo label. They were a bit under cooked in the center, and the honey-soy-garlic sauce I requested on the side tasted exclusively of soy. The fries had no crispness, and. The radish cubes were bland to a fault! My girlfriend hadn't tried these corn dogs before, so i brought her for the first time. As soon as you walk in you notice the bright atmosphere with lots of decorations and music playing. Seems like a cool place to hang out. The wings are amazing. Very crispy and the flavor is good inside and out. I personally enjoyed the corn dog and find it to be a nice twist on something most people enjoy. Mostly everything there is customizable which is cool. I have been to this place a handful of times. If I didn't live on the other side of the city I would probably eat here at least once a week if not more. The concept of serving Korean influenced street food works here! Staff is incredibly friendly, efficient, and will recommend the best things to try. I saw mixed reviews since the opening of Kstop and I can say they have definitely fixed all the kinks! I got the potato kdog and it was SO CRISPY! I've had kdogs in NYC and this was honestly surprisingly better because of how crispy it was! We got the galbi wings which is FULL OF FLAVOR! Not too sweet or salty with the perfect crisp texture. Lastly, we got the ham and cheese egg toast and spam egg toast, this was ok. The texture of the egg was good but is missing a little more flavor. I've had these in korea and so I guess the bar is set high for me haha. The restaurant is BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED with posters of all popular Korean movies/dramas along with little Easter eggs of BTS and more. The music is kpop and I am a huge fan! What a great time, since I walked in, I was received with a warm hi. This place is really cool, the decoration of kdrama and K-pop on the walls is really cool! The inside of the restaurant is cute and the menu is straight forward. I really wanted to like the food. However the flavors and temperature of the food wasn't there. I ordered the 127 (honey soy garlic) wings and they had a nice texture but tasted only like soy sauce. There was no garlic taste and they didn't come out hot. I also ordered the potato k-dog, how it comes with half mozzarella and half beef sausage. I got mustard and spicy Mayo as the two drizzles. There was way too much corn dog breading. I was left with extra at the end. It lacked potato's on the breading and didn't come out warm either. I tried to do a cheese pull and you can tell with mozzarella when it doesn't work because it's not warm enough... Maybe it's just kinks to be worked out since they are new. I love Asian street eats! Stopped in about 20 minutes before closing and I was worried that it'd be super annoying for the workers there but everyone was nice and didn't mind us dining in. I had a decent amount of questions, mostly recommendations, and the cashier was friendly and answered them all. I couldn't decide what to get but eventually settled on a few items: the classic K dogs with all beef, a spam egg toast, and soy garlic wings. At first I thought it was a little pricey but when I realized how large the portions were, especially the egg toast, it made a lot more sense! For myself and my boyfriend, we ordered too much lol. Everything tasted good! The wings are comparable to BonChon, maybe even more flavorful. I'm not a fan of the potato kdog from past experience (from another vendor) so I opted for the classic and liked this better. Even though it's classic, it's not like a regular American corn dog - larger and a crunchier texture. The drizzle options topped it off. My favorite was definitely the egg toast. I wasn't familiar with this before today but now I need another! I'm an shameless spam fan but combined with the biggest piece of buttery fluffy toast and the fluffiest eggs, and we've got a winner. They have plenty of options without the feeling of being overwhelmed and having trouble ordering! (At least not us.) We ordered the Spicy Garlic Soy Korean Fried Chicken , that was a 9/10. I expected more spice but I LOVE spicy food! All Cheese Dog with Hot Cheeto Dust , 1/2 Potato Dog with Ketchup & Sweet Mayo , All Cheese Potato Dog with Spicy Mayo OTS. All Dogs flavor wise 8.5/10 , the only issue we came across was the temp of the dogs. They are held in a hot box with heat lamps & sit for however long , so when we got our food , it wasn't hot, just barely warm. Considering we got their 5 minutes after opening & we were maybe the 7 & 8th person to walk in , I don't think it is necessary to have so much product sitting out so early. K Dogs should be made to order and fresh for the perfect cheese pull & experience , especially if it is a persons first time indulging! (Just my opinion!) I expressed my concerns to one of the staff members & he immediately apologized and had it remade so it was hot and brought it back to the table. You can tell the same dog got put into the fryer for a reheat but we were so hungry , we didn't care. Just a fair warning for future patrons who read this! As a Korean American living in North Carolina, I wanted to support their business especially since Winston-Salem is in dire need of a good Korean restaurant. Unfortunately, I will have to continue to wait for that time to come because I was not impressed with K Stop. THE WAIT: I know that K Stop recently opened and that they were unable to handle the influx of customers in the beginning, but I was hoping after a few weeks, the wait time would have decreased even slightly. I visited K Stop on Saturday evening at 6pm, and there was a 1.5 hour wait. I'm not sure why it would take this long since their menu appears simple, but everything is made-to-order so I can understand that the food can take some time to be prepared. But 1.5 hours for corn dogs and egg toast? That seems a bit excessive. I do hope that the workers were able to improve their efficiency and that the store manager improved their workflow to better handle large numbers of customers. THE FOOD: I was utterly disappointed. The dough of all 5 corn dogs my group ordered was raw and undercooked. The rice cakes of the tteokbokki were extremely overcooked and lacked their traditional bouncy texture. The rice cakes literally disintegrated in my mouth. Additionally, in my tteokbokki (which literally means rice cakes in Korean), there were only 4 individuals pieces in my spicy sauce. Normally, there is supposed to be an abundance of rice cakes that the bowl is actually overflowing with them. The egg toast was also underwhelming because it is literally just egg and buttered toast. I didn't feel like the price was justified. OVERALL: 5/10 - I will try this place out again in the next few months because I am hoping the manager will make the necessary changes based on all of the feedback they have been receiving, as they have SO much potential. read more

I was excited to try this spot after my experience in Las Vegas with Korean corn dogs. I was disappointed as the hot dog is minimal in size and the cheese pull was almost non-existent. I really wanted to give this store a lower rating (maybe 2/5) but I understand a lot of the factors I experienced may have been related to them just newly opening and working out some kinks. I am happy to see the owners taking a leap of faith and opening up more Asian food in the triad. I am a huge Korean food fan and their menu seems pretty authentic. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Saturday night and it was PACKED. We were told by a worker that the wait could take 1 hour to 1.5 hours which we appreciated. He explained it's because everything is made fresh to order which is great and wasn't an issue. There is a good amount of indoor seating, maybe 15 tables total. My group ordered quite a lot of food but my partner and I ordered the flaming hot corndog (half cheese half sausage), original tteokbokki, and their original egg and cheese sandwich. Our total was approximately $23. We tried our friend's fries which were very good (similar to McDonald's) and their fried chicken which had a delicious and crispy exterior and very sweet and tangy sauce. The tteokboki sauce was decent and it came with a hard boiled egg, but unfortunately the rice cake itself was very mushy like it was over cooked. I'm not sure if I would get this again or try their rose version. The egg and cheese sandwich was delicious, made on very buttery, soft, crispy croissant-like toast. The egg was very fluffy and soft. The American cheese added a nice creaminess and layer of flavor. This was probably our favorite item on the menu that we tried. The corndog was also decent, I would get this in the future again when I am craving. Other options included original (sugar coating), rice coating, and potato coating. exterior was very crispy and it was not too dense or heavy. The cheese was good and the actual hot dog was also very good. Unfortunately, many of our friends' corndog were undercooked and the batter inside was still very runny. They were happy to make them a new one. One of my friends got take out and ordered multiple sets of chicken wings (6 pieces and 12 pieces) and had to tell the workers few of her orders were short a few pieces. They immediately corrected the order. Overall, a decent Korean street place and so happy to see it open in Winston. I went to K Stop less than an hour before they closed on a Thursday night and thankfully there was no line. The interior was clean, and the staff were helpful. I ended up ordering two Potato (Half/Half) K Dogs for my girlfriend and I at $6.49 each. This price was not bad at all as these are the largest Korean corndogs we have ever gotten. These were fried with potato squares on the exterior and half cheese and half sausage on the interior. They were massive in size, and we were full about halfway through them. While these were the largest out of the three Korean corn dogs that we've tried at three different places, they were our least favorite. They were not bad, but the spicy mayo was a little tart tasting. Also, the sausage had that distinct traditional corndog flavor that I do not prefer. The juicy and savory aspect of the sausage was just missing for me. It was good overall, just not our favorite compared to others. Stopped in on a late Thursday afternoon and there was no line and I was served my potato (half mozzarella half hotdog) quickly. I see others have complained about the batter on the corn dogs not being cooked through but that seems to be an issue when they are super busy. The batter on mine was cooked perfectly. I am by no means an expert on Korean street food nor corn dogs as this was my very first corn dog! With that being said, I'm not sure that corn dogs will be a new go to for me. I didn't enjoy the sweetness of the corn dog batter with the richness of the mozzarella and the hotdog and everything fried was just not my thing. I can't really deduct any points for food that is just not for me, especially when I know nothing about this type of food especially when it seems like it is cooked well. I'm so happy to see Korean street food finally come to Winston Salem! The opening of this restaurant was really exciting and I was very pleased with my order. I ordered the wings and egg sandwich. I've tried Korean egg sandwiches at other places before and I can safely say that K stop made it the best! The bread was perfect, eggs were cooked perfectly and I really love the sauces that they added in it. The wings were also really delicious, very crispy and flavorful! My only complaint about this place was that the waiting time took terribly long. We came in around 12:30 but didn't start eating until around 2-2:30 although I do understand since this place is so new and everyone is still adjusting to everything. For basically a corndog french fries and a small Coke was a little over $20 but, I was willing to give it a try just to see because having lived in Japan and Korea, I thought it would be worth a shot. I've been here before and gave a 4 star rati.g. Since then, I've gone back and lowered my rating. I used to work in a quick service restaurant, and we never had under a 98 rating. I noticed off the. At the were at a 95, the guy prepping the food had long hair that he wore loose around his shoulders. I don't feel like that's very sanitary. I then noticed how grimy the chairs were that we were sitting on. Nothing looks like it is regularly wiped down. Service rang in our food and went and put on gloves without washing their hands. I think even if you pit on gloves, your hands should be washed before you touch the food. This ensures whatever grime is o. Your hands doesn't transfer to the gloves. The gloves are their to ensure your bodily parts aren't coming in contact with the food that multiple people will be co suming from. Also known as hygiene. I decided this was my last time coming to this novelty shop. You could save a lot of money by purchasing hot cheetos and corn dogs at home, and prevent consuming someone's hand juices and register fingers. read more

The wacky Korean corn dogs are fun and crazy concoctions that have cubes of potatoes, or crispy rice, sugar and sauces drizzled over the top... and many of them are half cheese stick and half all-beef hot dog inside. So choose wisely so you know what's inside. My wife wanted an egg sandwich which I thought sounded boring... but the bread is the lightest, fluffiest bread ever made and the eggs are somehow a light and fluffy consistency as well. It was crazy, wicked good eats! The Korean Fried Chicken should have been the star of the show for me, but the temperature was just like warm, but the flavor was awesome! Just tried it for the first time. I got the Boombayah Chicken Bites and the Hot Cheetos K-Dog. I really liked the chicken bites. Definitely quality chicken and the boombayah sauce is the perfect mixture of Sweet and Spicy. The K-Dog isn't what I expected.
