This place has the best Chicago dogs in Orlando. They also offer chili dogs, pizza puffs, and some other things, but my favorite is the Chicago dog with their crispy fries. This place has been an Orlando staple for decades. They get very busy on the weekends, but they keep the line moving and are always very nice.
Have lived in Orlando my entire life and have never stopped at hot dog heaven until the other day. It was great!! It gets packed on weekends but the hot dogs were delicious and so were the chili cheese fries! I wish it had just a little bit more seating but the service was great and quick. We entered a very long line that went out the door and was out within 15 minutes! It has a great small mom & pop shop feel to it. Will definitely come back soon.
Hot Dog Heaven is an old-school Orlando landmark and one of the best places in Central Florida to get an authentic Chicago-style dog. The Vienna Beef frank had that signature snap and came "dragged through the garden" with mustard, neon relish, onions, tomatoes, a pickle spear, sport peppers and celery salt on a steamed poppy-seed bun. Every bite had a great mix of savory, tangy and spicy flavors. The fries were hot and crispy, and the chocolate shake completed the classic roadside meal. It's a no-frills spot with quick service, outdoor seating and plenty of local character. Just check the hours before visiting because they can be limited.
An Orlando institution that you can see from the road, it was our first time going to Hot Dog Heaven. Looks can be deceiving, and you can not tell how busy the place is going to be just from those looks. If there is a line outside, then double that for the people waiting inside. We were very surprised at how busy it was consistently through our time there. Service was extremely quick, and we got our food within minutes of ordering. The hotdog have that snap to them when you bite them. The toppings were delicious. We had two Chicago dogs, a Polish sausage, a Reuben dog, and a normal hotdog. Overall feelings were that it was better than average I'm glad to say that we went and tried them out. If the family liked hotdog more, we would definitely go again. Prices were very reasonable, drinks are in large cups, and have free refills. And if you're over 17, no ketchup on your hotdog!

I love The Great Chicago Fire basket and the Chili and Kraut Dog. They pack them with toppings and flavor and, if you get the basket, they are so generous with the fries. I don't know why, but the fries are so fresh every time we come here. They only have outdoor seating that looks out onto the busy road, so we actually prefer to walk to the little park across the street in the back and sit at one of the picnics tables there.

This spot feels like a throwback in the best way, serving up every kind of hot dog you could possibly want, including an absolutely knockout Chicago-style dog. The menu has a ton of variety at very reasonable prices, which just adds to the old-school charm. They even have fun extras like ice cream, pizza rolls, and other novelty snacks that make it feel like a roadside stop from another era. The restaurant is long and narrow but has plenty of seating inside and out, making it an easy, laid-back place to kick back and enjoy a seriously good dog made to order by the wonderful staff.

There is indoor and outdoor seating available. I ordered a Chicago dog with fries and macaroni salad and the portion sizes were quite big. The meal was good but the macaroni salad could use some improvement. All in all, I was satisfied.
I enjoy a good chili dog and Hot Dog Heaven is one of the top 2 places in Orlando to enjoy one. The diced onions are a great add on to the chili dog. I always buy the chili dog and then buy and enjoy another one of their fabulous menu choices.. The ice they put in the drink cup is also a big hit for me.

The decor is heavily Chicago influenced like their delicious dogs. Well prepared and a good combo of ingredients. Plenty of fries in the basket, a little too much. Overall a good experience.
It's like they picked up a piece of Chicago and dropped it here in Orlando. The best authentic Chicago style hotdogs & sausage and enjoy it surrounded by everything Chicago. I love it and couldn't recommend it more. Everyone needs a favorite hotdog spot that's not a chain. Hotdog Heaven is mine

Food was piping hot and delicious. So many options with so many toppings. Do not expect any frills, you won't find any, you'll find picnic tables on the lawn if your lucky, but the food is amazing. The service was good too. Have and will go back many times

I have been wanting to Hot Dog Heaven for over 10 years. Never got the chance until today. Very good. A bit pricey but what isn't in the food world nowadays? Had the jumbo Chicago with fries & slaw. Very filling for a hot dog & that's coming from a big eater. The fries are excellent and I was served more than enough. Coleslaw was good too. As previous reviews stated I can attest they are very friendly . Overall great experience. In the mood for a hot dog? Come here. 5 stars! read more

The pickle was good. Wish the hotdogs were grilled instead of boiled and the relish wasn't sweet relish. The chili lacked flavored and I'm not a big fan of sliced cheese on my chili dog. The fries were seasoned well but tasted old. The woman who took my order was very friendly and the place was packed. I think it's cool that they use Hershey ice cream for the shakes but I'm not willing to pay $8 for it. They have plenty of seating but the inside is very narrow and doesn't seem to have enough walking space for the large crowd that was there. read more

Good quality hot dogs and their fries are amazing! Also tried the coleslaw, did not disappoint. For my hot dog choice, I had spicy Chicago dog. It had jalapeños and a good amount of onion. You have to sauce it yourself, which is a plus for me. Had the food out very quickly and service was great overall! It does get packed, so be ready to stand in the line. read more

I have been going to Hotdog Heaven for years and I have never been disappointed. My wife always gets the Chicago Dog and I get the Chili Dog We share one order of fries. My place to go for home town hotdogs, that is, Illinois hotdogs. read more
This wasn't heaven for me and my hot dog. I will say the hype around this place was probably more justified when prices weren't inflated. Just a year or so ago, the price of a Chicago Dog or Chili Dog was $4.05 (based on menu photos from other yelpers). I got one of each on my visit and they were $6.20 and $6.45 respectively. That's over a 50% increase and in my opinion, a crazy price for a hot dog. The hot dogs were good though. The Chicago dog had plenty of toppings and poppy seed bun was soft and didn't fall apart. The chili dog with onions was also good. I went with no beans for the chili hoping it would be like I used to get back in western PA back in the day (when a whole tray of chili dogs was a lot cheaper). I got there just before 11:30a or so on a Saturday and there wasn't a line (I have driven by and have seen a line). They have some bar stool seating inside and some tables outside. I was able to sit inside, eat my 2 dogs and leave $16+ poorer for the experience. Should 2 hot dogs be more than a Panera Sandwich (How's that for perspective?). Probably not. I don't know if I'll go back. I think I prefer Portillo's ($4 for a Chicago dog) and they have a lot more options and a lot better seating. If they open one on the east side of Orlando, then it would be a no brainer for me to go to Portillo's for a hot dog fix. This is close and maybe I'll stop when I want a Chicago style dog. read more

Came in for a food review. I think that for hotdogs this place is pretty good due to the variety of options. However, $14 is PRICEY for two hotdogs! You can make 12 at home for the same price. The casing also gets stuck in your teeth when you bite it. Despite all this, I love hot dogs and love that there's a dedicated place for it! It seems to be a popular spot in this area as well. It's my birthday today. Wanted to do something fun so took advantage of my wife having an appointment in town and being down that way. Well, we enjoyed a couple of dogs, some hot and wonderful fries and a drink, sitting in the sunshine and enjoying the ambiance of Colonial Drive (kidding). Staff was friendly, quick and the food delicious, authentic and true. I know that big famous place is opening more locations including near our other AUTHENTIC Chicago spot in Leesburg...but we go for small business and real. So Hotdog Heaven? Great. I consider Hot Dog Heaven to be an Orlando classic. We were recently in the area, and our travels took us right past Hot Dog Heaven, and it was conveniently lunchtime. My wife isn't the biggest fan of hot dogs and had never been, but she agreed to give it a try. And since we live in Davenport, we are not in the area much, so this was the perfect chance to introduce her to this classic. We headed inside and joined the small queue, which grew pretty quickly while we were there. We looked over the menu at all of our options. I was really in the mood for a Chicago Dog. My wife decided to go with a custom dog with onions and cheese. We both opted for fries as our sides. The staff was super friendly and very efficient. We got our dogs and sat outside. Love being able to sit outside and watch the airplanes from Orlando Exeutive Airport take off or land. We quickly dove into our dogs, and they were gone in no time. I opted for a regular sized single dog. I was quickly wishing I had ordered a second dog, as it was delicious, and it hit the spot. The fires were crisp, hot, and perfectly salted. Came here multiple times when younger and still go whenever im craving a hotdog. You seriously can never go wrong with this staple. Whatever hotdog you get, you can upgrade to a basket that includes fries with a side of baked beans, coleslaw, or macaroni salad! All very delicious options. Interior is very simple with minimal seating inside and outside. Service is amazing, their energy is amazing and definitely lets you feel welcomed 24/7! read more
When it comes to finding a great local hot dog in Orlando, this is the only place that comes to mind. If you're coming from the west side on colonial you'll need to turn left at the light a few blocks ahead to get to the parking lot. The staff is really friendly upon entering and make your orders fairly quick especially being busy. They have all different combinations you can get or just create your own dog if you want. I had the Chicago dog and Kraut dog with mustard and they were perfect. Cooked just right with that snap when you take a bite. What really elevates them to the next level is the buns. A hotdog on a poppy seed bun is the absolute best. Inside you can tell that much hasn't changed since it opened but in a great way. It's very clean and gives off a nostalgic feeling seeing all the memorabilia all over the walls. Seriously if you haven't been to Hot Dog Heaven yet you're missing out! read more
Hands down my new favorite spot for a hot dog in Orlando. I've been meaning to try this place out for some time now, but it's somewhat out of the way from where I live, so it took a bit of time to make it here. Now that I have, I will surely go out of my way to come here next time I'm craving a hot dog. Very simple restaurant, no frills - But you come here for the delicious hot dogs and nothing else. Even the fries were very impressive. I'm not a huge topping/condiment person, so I got a plain hot dog with onions and still enjoyed it - Lots of flavor, the size was just right and the poppy seed bun was a nice touch. My boyfriend devoured his Chicago dog and gave it two thumbs up. My only complaint is the odd location, but once you know what back streets to take in order to find your way to the restaurant, it's not a huge hassle (just rely on your smart phone to give you directions if this is your first time or else you'll likely get lost). They mean it when they say don't feed the ducks! You can't miss the sign on your way in (they will not leave you alone for a moment if you feed them a crumb). Yous want the Chicago way here in Orlando, you go to Hot Dog heaven. They're sort of a local institution, people Love 'em, and there's almost always a lunchtime line. It's just those Chicago dogs are so God Damned good ...and the pizza puffs?! Whoa, I'm addicted to those things!!! I need them in the freezer. And despite the line, they really seem to Love what they do. Everybody's so happy and friendly, and somehow that makes some difference too. Do them. read more
