I like that the fish is lightly battered so it's not as greasy. The fries were good too, if not a little on the salty side. I wanted to eat them all but had to stop myself from clogging my arteries further. Oddly enough, they also have Mexican food (which I am kind of fascinated by). Maybe I'll branch out and try that next time. Maybe. There's covered outdoor seating in TRADE. Parking can be challenging if you come during a week day during lunch.

The storefront is almost hidden on the right side of the food hall and can be easy to miss if you're not looking for it. There was no wait, and I was able to order right away. They gave me a beeper, and I was able to find a nearby table without any trouble. I ordered the Fish N Chips, which was a generous portion. It came with two large pieces of fish that were nicely fried. The batter wasn't too thick, and the fish itself was tender rather than overly flaky or hard. The texture and overall quality were good, but it was a bit lacking in flavor, even with malt vinegar and tartar sauce. The steak fries were crispy and not overly salty, which I enjoyed. Overall, the meal was average. With limited fish and chip options nearby, it's still a decent choice if you're in the area and craving it.

Upon walking in your feel like your on stage. Tons of seating in a very open atmoshpere. We ended up going with the Rocking Shrimp Bowl and the Fillet Mignon and Shrimp Skewers and glass of wine. The Shrimp Bowl was fantastic. Tons of food...flavorful shrimp with just the right amount of veggies and brown rice. The Fillet Skewers and Shrimp Skewers popped with flavor. The Service was on point and the Manager was an absolute delight. Upon receiving the bill we were blown away with the value we got. I walked up to the hostess podium and I was ignored. Then I said that I was checking in for 5:30p reservations and the hostess said " that's gonna be much later than. I'll probably get your party in closer to 6:30p." Obviously I was upset by this response since we drove over an hour to this restaurant for the sole purpose of a celebration of life. If reservations were going to be ignored then I would not have bothered making them in a timely matter as I was instructed to do by the organizer of the evening. I basically got the brush off like there was nothing they could do since people were not leaving (including walk-ins) after a 90 min dining limit was posted outside. I was very peeved about this response and said clearly that is not my problem yet I am being penalized. My first encounter with the hostess carried throughout my visit. Our servers name was Linda and she took our drink order as soon as we were seated, however it did seem to take a while for our drinks to arrive. Apologies were made again for the wait but at this point it was clear there was gonna be an issue throughout the meal. I ordered a Caprese salad with brussels sprouts to share family style .When my salad arrived there was no basil. It was just mozzarella and tomatoes, balsamic and olive oil with a dried herb sprinkled on top. When I asked my server if this is how the Caprese is served she said yes. I never had a Caprese with no leaves of basil. Needless to say it's not what I wanted nor expected. My sprouts were dry and overcooked. Linda was truly trying to be accommodating. I could tell she is working very hard to satisfy our group despite the fact the restaurant was packed. Linda was great. We decided to share key lime pie and the warm butter cake w/ ice cream and raspberry sauce. The key lime pie was fine. The warm butter cake was a bit different as it had a hard sugar top. Ice cream with raspberry sauce on the side as well as below. It was too much sauce for my taste. More like a jelly doughnut. My blueberry pomegranate margarita was the best part of my meal. There were so many things that may seem small but were enhanced because I was already upset. The fact the restaurant overly committed and couldn't handle the amount of people was a real issue.

Normally this comes with an Oyster but another Scallop was substituted as I don't care for Oysters... about the only type of seafood I don't care for. I did think the batter for the Calamari was too spicy. I had "wooder" to drink. Overall I was very satisfied with the meal. Well done H Salt. There was one all gender washroom which was not immaculate but was satisfactory. I was glad to see that paper towels were available. I have a bone to pick about the personal appearance of the employees at this establishment. I saw that the guys working at this establishment failed to tuck their shirts in. I consider that to be highly unprofessional so I am deducting one point as this is something I am OCD about. I was glad to see Pepsi was available though I didn't have any this visit and I was happy to learn that refills are free. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school, this establishment would get a solid B.

They give you the option of either a 4oz or 6oz, priced at $34 and $49. It's a Connecticut style roll made with buttered lobster on a toasted brioche bun. The roll is pretty expensive but honestly worth it in my opinion because of how much lobster they pack into it. The brioche bread was perfectly toasted. The lobster was fresh and buttery without making the bread soggy, even after pouring extra melted butter on top. This is definitely the best lobster roll I've had.

The food is delicious and I love the cozy feel and detailed theme of the entire restaurant. I arrived before my friend and asked if we could be seated in the dining room. Carrie hesitated and tried to talk me into the bar area. She said the dining room is usually for large parties. That is NOT true. I've been there with just my husband many times, as well as a small group (4). ALWAYS in the dining room, not the bar. She reluctantly seated me in the dining room and there were 2 booths that had only 2 people!!j Throughout our dinner, she commented "You guys are still here?!" "You guys have been here forever!" It was NOT busy or full and not near closing time. There were no "large parties". After I left for a few minutes, my friend told me that Carrie commented AGAIN about how long we were there (we had appetizers, dinner, dessert and tea!) And said it was slow that night but if it was busy as it normally is, she "would have had to kick us out"!!!! And she "just wanted us to know that". Also, the people who were already there when I got seated were "still there" the whole time we were!! I wonder if she said anything to them?? This was my friend's first visit to The Olde Ship. She loved the food and ambiance but said the service ruined it for her.
