Absolutely incredible! At first we were very skeptical as we heard mixed reviews and from the street view (just being honest) but we decided to give them a try! From the first step into the door the atmosphere was lovely. Very homey, authentic, and welcoming atmosphere . Our waitress/owners wife (I think) was very sweet and helpful to us! We decided to order the KFC (Korean fried chicken), takoyaki, Korean rice cake and dumpling soup, mochi, and strawberry iced latte. All were absolutely incredible dishes! So surprised to find authentic Korean in Crestview. The owners are from Atlanta and wanted to escape the hustle and bustle. Absolutely delicious menu. The Kalbi are to die for and reasonably priced! It's a tiny family owned and operated place and my family and I absolutely loved it. We got our food to go and we ate every bit of it. Our 9 year old got the sweet garlic Korean fried chicken, I got the spice chicken bulgogi and my husband got the beef bulgogi. All of it was absolutely delicious. First, it's a nice and neat little food joint. The bubble tea is a must to order if you love "boba teas." Second, the Korean food taste great. I find the "side-dishes" phenomenally tasty. They make fresh ones daily. Other Korean joints usually only offer the same side-dishes everyday. I highly recommend this joint. read more

They have a lot of authentic Korean meals in this tiny and charming little Korean mom and pop shop that is ran by husband and wife. It may not look like much on the outside, but it's quiet, clean, and cute on the inside. People often come here for lunch, but everything is made from scratch and to order, so make sure you have a little bit of time on your hands. Quality takes time. Amazing, tasty, Korean dishes! Even my husband, who definitely isn't one to venture off the traditional 'American cuisine' path was pleasantly surprised & loved his beef bulgoki! He got his plate with a spice level 1 (out of spiciness levels 1-3). As a vegetarian, i opted for the more Japanese dish, yakisoba bokkum (without meat) & it was SO delicious! I loved the teriyaki sauce used in the dish. I also had a bowl of the egg drop soup & it also did not fail me in flavor. There's a touch of black pepper added that really brings it to the next level. Visited this little restaurant while in Crestview for lunch, and we loved it. They do lunch specials until 3:30 where certain dishes are only $7.99! We both ordered the chicken bokkum and were pleasantly surprised with the presentation, quality, and amount given for this price. The lunch special came with an egg roll, the chicken bokkum, white rice, and two sides of a spicy pickled cabbage and cucumbers as well as pickled cabbage and broccoli. This food was delicious! Sometimes the food takes awhile to come out of the kitchen but keep in mind that they are cooked to order and will come out fresh and hot. We got bang bang shrimp, the spicy bulgogi, and the spicy stir fried squid. Let's start with the atmosphere, it's a cute setup but the kids running around and playing wasn't pleasant. The miso like soup was amazing and the side dishes were pretty standard. The bulgogi was just alright. It wasn't spicy but the flavor was the right kind of flavor. The squid was rotten. I get spicy stir fried squid at every Korean restaurant I eat at,I know rotten when I taste rotten. Luckily, they removed the item from our check but they didn't believe me that it was rotten. We drove up from Pensacola, so overall was very disappointed. The bang bang shrimp was pretty good though, in its own way. And our drinks were never refilled. Don't recommend. read more

AN OBSERVATION - Hmm, I find it very curious that all of the other reviews for this place not only follow my less-than-stellar review but are knock-your-socks off glowing, and they also came from people with very few Yelp reviews to begin with. Proceed with caution, I'd say. **FORMERLY SONG'S CAFE** Oh no, farewell, Song's. When I visited Hot Kim Chi the first day they were open, I dined in and got the scoop on the change from the old Song's Cafe. Well what I *thought* was the scoop. I was emailed later by someone who said that she was Song's daughter, who saw my review (under the old Songs Café listing), and she gave me a different version of what the deal supposedly was, which I won't go into here. Anyway, the food at the new place was just okay that first time, I attributed anything less than stellar to the fact that they were just getting established, i.e. menu items that weren't available, etc. I tried them again and when I first walked in it struck me odd that there was an American woman in the kitchen. The same older American gentleman was working the register as was there during my first visit. I tried to order an appetizer on the menu that wasn't available last time, and it STILL wasn't available. So I ordered the beef bulgogi, and I was not impressed with it at all. It had big, thick, tough slices of beef and very little sauce. There were beansprout and potato sides thrown in but nothing in that meal made me want to return. I don't think I will. read more

It's pretty good but prices are high, I feel. For what you pay, they could at least have free soda refills. Still no liquor license, so can't order beer yet. We ordered kimbop for an appetizer and was told they were out. When I said I'd read when they were out of things often, she checked and there was magically more kimbop. Didn't really like the atmosphere as there was just weird music playing (like you'd hear in an elevator). Kimbop was delicious though, and beef bulgoki was great but had mushrooms which was not listed on menu. Probably won't go back as Aurijuang is down the street and cheaper and has bento boxes so you can get a variety of food. read more
