I was so excited when I saw this restaurant opened in Chantilly. Outside of the place there is plenty of parking, the inside is super clean and very well decorated, making it extremely cozy. The price is very good for all you can eat. There is a sauce bar that makes the meal!!!! I love the fact that there are two sides to the sauce bar for convenience. I get the seafood and lamb, while my spouse gets the ribeye and dumplings. We have been to this location twice now and are never disappointed. My friend and I are regulars. We love hot pot and always get the family style. Our favorite broths are the shabu shabu and the spicy broth. We usually come for lunch on a week day so it's never super busy. Service can be a little slow but overall everything else is great. Walter was our waiter and was awesome. After a (questionable) management decision to close the fairfax location, the same day a groupon was about to expire, and send everyone to chantilly, hot spot was packed beyond belief. The host was helping clean and doing table jiu jitsu, the back waiters were bringing out food non stop, and it seemed like there was chaos. When we were seated, Walter greeted us with a smile and was calm, cool, and collected. He assured us that his job was to make our experience a positive one. It was. He was hustling the entire time, always came back with a smile, and was just a happy person in a sea of stressed out workers. Walter is an excellent server, always checked up on us, anytime we asked for sides he'd have it out immediately. Water was always filled and so was the broth. BLUF: Way better experience than Fairfax! Food was fantastic, but they were out of dumplings... even though we got there as they were opening... that's something I was really looking forward to! My husband and I decided to try the Chantilly location after having a not so great experience at the Fairfax location. The experience we had at the Fairfax location was our very first time trying it and we weren't impressed. We told our server that it was our first time and we didn't know how it worked. He didn't bother explaining it to us and looked annoyed any time we asked questions. We ended up leaving frustrated and hungry because we were pretty much ignored and didn't get many dishes. I convinced my husband to try it again because we had a Groupon, and am I glad we did! We explained to our server (I think his name was David?) that it was only our second time trying it and that our first experience wasn't so great. He went out of his way to make sure we had a fantastic experience this time. We told him that we didn't really know what we were doing or what to order and asked him for some suggestions. He said that if we didn't mind, he would put in a few different things for us and man am I glad he did! We tried things that I normally wouldn't have ordered and it was FANTASTIC! I loved everything we ate and he constantly checked on us to make sure we were enjoying the things he picked out and to see if we needed anything else. The only downside to this whole experience was that they were out of dumplings and we got there as they were literally opening the door... how do you run out of something as you are opening?? Came to chantilly to avoid all the craziness in Fairfax.. 2 hour wait was just too much! I can't wait until they've renovated and hopefully make the place bigger.. anyway, there was absolutely no line and a lot of tables were open. We asked to be sat in a family style table cuz luke tagged along and we needed a high chair. The area didn't disappoint it was big enough that he's far from the stove but close enough for me to feed him. Anyway, now the quality of the food is always top notch. Service is always great as their staff are always very attentive. I had to change Luke but since they didn't have a changing table in the bathroom, the manager let me change Luke in his office, what about that for customer service? Two thumbs up! read more

I suggest you get there 30 mins before you plan to start eating. If its only you and a date and you dont mind sitting in the bar its first come first serve. This is the best ramen I've ever had! It was our first time here and we had no idea what was happening, but our waiter Walter explained everything to us. I would not recommend this place, mostly for their service and cheapskate mentality. We ordered veggies and meat. They brought out the veggies and noodles right away. However for the meat, it took them a while to bring out (after us reminding them a few times). Same thing on the refill of meat and protein, they waited for us to get full on the veggies and fillers like noodles, to only then bring out (again, after several reminders!!!). Some of what we ordered such as shrimp balls, fish balls, tofu etc never even got brought out at all, and we just gave up after multiple reminders. For the broth, you can order different soup base. However once your soup ran low, they only refilled with clear base soup, NOT the flavor you originally asked. If you wanted that same one, they charged extra!!! I understand the need to keep cost low, but I just felt they went too far with this, and made the dining experience annoying.
