Cool little bakery which adjoins a nice fish restaurant. The guys were fun to visit with. Of course, they jokingly wanted us to purchase one of every item in the bakery. When all is said and done, we walked away with a small peanut butter cake, key lime bars, and some tasty cookies. The owner came out with a small sample of candied pecans. Wow.....wow....wow!!! They were hot off the press and perfectly roasted or toasted or whatever they do to them. I am hopeful they continue to make them and sell to their patrons. The cake is bursting with all the flavors a carrot cake should! And the frosting is to die for! Oh that cream cheese frosting! It compliments the cake perfectly and is not to sweet. I stopped into Broccoli Bill's to meet someone and shopped around as I was waiting. There were several sweet treats tempting me and I ultimately chose a brownie. I record everything I eat on My Fitness Pal so I carefully consider everything I eat. I ended up choosing a brownie to indulge in. I took it home and ate it half the same day as purchase and the remaining half the next day. I zapped it in the microwave for a few seconds and it was pretty tasty both days. Thanks to Yelp (Chrissy C) for letting me know about this small bakery at the back of Broccoli Bill's grocery. After lunch at Slapfish (also in the same building), I decided to stop by the bakery to see what I might like for dessert. The bakery space is quite small with a display case and a free standing display of baked goods. I like that they have many of the items available in reasonably sized slices at prices that are less than what you would pay at nice restaurants for dessert. I picked up a Key Lime Pie slice and a Carrot Cake for $7. The baker was there and was friendly to deal with. He also has full size pies and cakes that are for sale too. Heard about this little gem and finally visited last night- visit being the operative word as Todd and Earl were delightful and I feel like we're friends now! We bought cinnamon rolls, which we had for breakfast this morning, and bought slices of Key Lime Pie and Carrot Cake, which was dessert last night. Now I see why they're rated 5 stars! Everything was delicious. They also make all of their own jams- including the best apple butter we've ever had, which they let us sample. Also made are a variety of cookies, granolas (including gluten free), cupcakes, brownies and more. It's tucked away behind Slapfish and Broccoli Bill's (in the same building!) on Gray Road. I suggested more signage, which they agreed, because unless I knew of them from my friend I don't think I would've seen it, much less tried it- and that would've been a huge loss! read more

Quaint little shop with a variety of treats available. We opted for a bag of chocolate chip cookies and coffee. The cookies were a fairly large size, soft and tasty. You'll find Hot Toddy's tucked in the back of Broccoli Bills. They got lots of different desserts to choose from. We had the carrot cake. We were taking it to go so they bagged it up nicely and sealed the top. You do have to pay for your Hot Toddy items there rather than at the main register. Hot Toddy's has been inside Broccoli Bill's since Fall of 2019! I haven't actually been there to the store in a long while so I was surprised they were remodeling again, but in the end it was a good surprise that we found Hot Toddy's which had amazing carrot cake! The case actually had many amazing looking desserts. It was hard to narrow it down, but I had been thinking of carrot cake and was told it and the key lime are the biggest sellers. The cheesecakes also looked very good. The black raspberry looked so pretty. They use their homemade preserves! They also sell preserves! The carrot cake was the perfect dessert after our dinner at SlapFish. It was the prefect moist and dense cake that was very flavorful. The cream cheese icing was just perfect. We split a piece, but I wish I had gotten my own. We will be back for more and to try the other desserts. Not only did that have desserts but they had iced cinnamon rolls, muffins, cookies, and coffee cake. They was gluten free options as well. I thought everything was priced really good. I also liked they had the preserves and homemade granola! They had coffee as well, but not being a huge coffee drinker I didn't even notice what kind they had to offer. read more

I have been a steady customer of Hot Toddy's for a long time and I have never never found anything that I haven't liked. I buy lots of the Key Lime Pie!!! I have even watched them whip the cream for on top of the pie! (It is the real thing)! The German Chocolate cake and Carrot cake are so good. They also sell it by the piece and makes great treats and thank yous for your friends and neighbors. This fall you must try the pumpkin chocolate chip muffins. Guys, I am anxiously waiting! If you are looking for a pie that you can convincingly pull off as homemade by your German grandma this is it. Not overloaded with sugar or corn syrup like store bought and other bakery pies -so you can really taste the other ingredients. I can't say enough about how good they were. 6 stars! WOW!!! Love at first bite!! I visited this vendor 8/13/20 for the first time at the farmers market at Ft Benjamin Harris location near 56th st & post rd & omg it was well worth it!!! The snicker doodle cookie was the best I ever had, and "the brownie" chocolate, with chocolate chips was so pleasing to my taste buds- a melt in your mouth delight!!!!!
