Was out with a friend and noticed there was a hot topic here, I had a coupon emailed to me, so thought I would stop by and use it. The worker first lied to me and said I had to spend double the amount, then the manager who was next to the worker said I need to spend the amount more than the coupon. When I showed her the fine print they then honored it, however gave attitude and never even gave me my receipt. read more

Five stars based solely on customer service. I came here dozens of times, particularly to kill time and each and every time I have received exceptional service. I've only been approached by genuinely friendly staff members (and what I mean by that, is that they were friendly by what seems like it's their personality. no bubbly retail energy.) i now have all my online deliveries be shipped at this store to avoid shipping costs and the process is quick and easy. What made me actually stop and write a review is because the last time i was there, one of the associates offered to help me look for a collectible on their Funko Pop wall. It's tedious effort (collectors would understand this) but she offered to help the search. I hella appreciated that. read more

Okay first off, this store is huge compared to any other hot topic store in SoCal. They have a huge amount of stuff from anime t shirts to rap to metal. I love that there is something for everyone there. My experience at this store was beyond satisfying and an enjoyable shopping day. Tony who was on the sales floor really does care about customers. He checked up on us twice and made sure we were being attended to for items that were out of reach to customers, he was not only assisting us but he was answering questions from other customers all while keeping a great attitude. Most hot topics that I go to have very rude staff. this store not so much and I only say this because there is a female worker who looks like she does not want to be there. My family to a detour on our Hollywood tour and cake across the cool Pop culture retail store. They had literally everything and it's a little overwhelming. But me and my kiddos fixated on the shades rack and ended up buying three pair. Our family members all bought items the liked as well. The deal was buy two get one free. Very cool store. I will have to go back because it looks like they have awesome gifts for very decent prices. They also have a frequent shopper pass. I was surprised to see that my 17 year old niece had the pass and had accumulated $5 from her previous trips at her local mall. She saved it for another day though. My nephew found a really cute Brony wallet and so he replaced that last wallet he bought from there 5 years ago. Our sun glasses didn't last, but made extremely cute photo props and I do not regret buying them one bit. Great experience!! read more

Shoutout to the employees at this Hot Topic! Were super cool and very accommodating when I went to check out their Funko Pop collection. The manager and and employee Handrew and Leah were totally awesome and assisted me to get my first Chase from Hot Topic! Which by the way, has been so hard to come by lately, seeing as I work all day and by the time I'm able to stop by after seeing the Instagram posts they've been long gone due to the resellers and flippers who are constantly hawking the hot topic Instagram posts . I am acctually of the age where I remember when Hot Topic was "all about the music!" Sadly, now it is all about the scene, crunk , and Beiber. I rarely step foot inside a hot topic, that is of course unless I am dragged in, or there is the 50% off 50% off sale. I don't mind paying $4 for some rough starchy band shirt but I'd hate to pay full price. The music now is unbearable. Gone are the days where you could find a really cool Social Distortion shirt, or a sick Misfits accessory. Now you can buy a temporary Lady Gaga lightning bolt tattoo that once represented David Bowie. This is the perfect place to go if you're twelve, or in 8th grade and beginning to 'rebel' but other than that I would skip it. read more

I normally don't shop at Hot Topic, but I saw interesting Disney-inspired clothing items in the window and sale sings so I was incited to enter. This was the largest HT I have ever seen, with merchandise up to the ceiling! The sales associates were very friendly and willing to climb up and down the ladder several times to fetch the items I desired. I ended up purchasing a very unique skirt as well as a dress that i wore as my Halloween costume. I went to a Hot Topic in my native Milwaukee shortly after my visit to LA and they did not have these items, which made me feel like what I purchased was unique and extra special :) read more

OMG... this store is insane. The music could drive a deaf person nuts. Anyhoo... we dropped in here after lunch and checked out some funky gear. They had this really funny black tee for girls, that just said "OMG. WTF" in big white letters. I wanted to get it cuz it was so fittting, but then I remembered my age. And being a role model to a 7 yr old. Hmm.. not such a good idea. But, I did get a black glitter eyeliner pencil for $1.99! It's soo pretty and sparkly, I can't wait to put it on tomorrow! Most of the stuff is for the goth/alternative crowd, but it was still fun to browse around. The wait to check out was ridiculous, took at least 15 min and there were only 2 people in front of us. Just wanna say I'm a little disappointed that this is now my closest Hot Topic so getting here is a hassle, with or without traffic. Had to come back a few times to exchange online orders to avoid paying shipping ($26 bucks on a $20 dollar order, are you kidding me?!) but the staff was absolutely wonderful. Leah was patient enough to help us with our exchanges and also purchases. I really appreciated the time she took to make sure we got our money back and exchanged for the proper sizes and items. It was good store before its remodeling. Now it much more hard to find item you need ! Good service, friendly workers, but last time when I was there, pop music was too noisy and sound system was old or damaged, that caused bad sound. Stopped at this location before heading over to Universal Studio, didn't know there was a Hot Topic in the Universal walk... could've saved myself the extra parking fee, but oh well. This store is a lot bigger than the stores we have in Hawaii. I can't say for sure if there were more items or a wider variety but a lot more square footage for sure. So I guess it could be that things are laid out a lot better given the space. Needless to say I got about everything I needed and more. At a bargain too compared to Park prices. Buy one get one 30% off or something like that, plus rewards racked up makes for great shopping. Gryffindor house headband, sweater, socks, scarf, Harry Potter shirts and keychains. Just the things I was in search of and I knew Hot Topic always provides! For some reason I missed out on Jurassic Park tees online and in store, must've been hot at the time... til this day, I still can't get my hands on any, boo! I went yesterday to buy pajamas pants and i asked a worker who was a guy, not sure what his name was. anyways i asked him to check the price for a Billie Eilish pajamas, he went to go check the price came back to tell me the $15 promotion wasn't for those pajamas. I've never really shopped at Hot Topic before, but I was just invited to a house party, industrial goth theme! I initially thought maybe I should go to a kinky sex shop to get something intense, but I settled for Hot Topic when two of the shops I went inside scarred me lol. First, this place is smack dab in the middle of Hollywood, so traffic can be a bit of a nuisance. I recommend parking in the residential areas of Highland or Orange...anything BUT the parking lot because I hate to pay to park. Save yourself money and get your legs moving once and for all. When I got inside, literally everything was on sale! Buy one full-priced item and get 50% of the second item. Sweet! But before I began my excavation, I asked a nice worker what exactly industrial goth is. Nevertheless, he helped my friend and I a lot and gave us some ideas and what-not. Great service, cool guy! I decided to get an awesome band T with a studded leather belt for $27...not too bad! Friend walked about with some HOT corsets too! Can't wait until we wear our outfits for the party! RATING BASED ON EMPLOYEES AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE Came here yesterday for a Hayley Kiyoko m&g they were offering if u bought a T-shirt. When I came to buy the shirt, and was immediately greeted by someone with a smile on their face , which I really appreciated since I hate when employees look like they hate their jobs and have an attitude, but not this hot topic! They pointed me in the direction of t shirts, bought it and went on my way. Came back a few days later for the meet and greet and it was the best experience ever! It was super organized and ran super smoothly. The employees who were down stairs running the line were the biggest sweethearts ever and actually made conversation with the people in line. I came in to buy tons of Harry Potter apparel for my Halloween costume. The Slytherin cardigan was at the very top of the rack and the staff were very nice and patient as I tried on a variety of sizes before finally deciding on the best fit. Another team member came by to suggest other items for the costume and shared that many items were BOGO 30%. When I went to pay, the team member also price matched the online item and explained how hot topic cash works. Honestly, they went above and beyond. Been shopping at HT stores for like 15 years now lol. So much has changed...not all for the better. Each location is different. I've only been to this one a couple times. Pretty spacious compared to others that I've been to. Super bright inside. So much so I actually left my sunglasses on. (I liked it better back when HT interior were on the dark side) Personnel seemed friendly enough but very slow. (Take it however way you choose, it will still apply. Believe me.) Music was cool. Garbage was playing the entire time I was in the store shopping. (Miss the industrial though) Not a large selection of T-shirts but I did like the new addition of Pusheen merchandise. I've struggled for the past month to get an online order returned, and after being told by another store to follow up with customer service via email or phone, I still couldn't get a response (aside from an automated response saying they are backed up due to COVID-19) Came to this store to see if I could at least get store credit. The cashier was dismissive and unhelpful after I told her all the steps I've already gone through to try to make a return. Even if you can't help someone, a little compassion goes a long way. This Hot Topic is amazing! Has so much merchandise! More than the other HT locations I normally go to. If this was my local HT I would probably be broke because of all the cool things I find when I come to this one. Plus, I love the in store signings they have! I have been to the signing for Fall Out Boy and most recently Of Mice & Men! The security was cool this time around and weren't pushing people through the line like they did for Fall Out Boy, so that was good. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars was because of I'm going to guess the manager, he was standing behind one of the registers listening to his iPod. Only one register was open and I just had a shirt. Instead of taking out his headphones and helping me he just calls another employee to open another register while he continues listening to his iPod. Pretty rude I think. But the employee who helped me was really nice and rang me up quickly. read more

Hot topic sell clothing that's about the alternative music thing, Hot Topic customers like underground cartoon, cult movie and comic book scenes. This sort of stuff can be difficult to find but this shop has it all. They have things like South Park, Care Bears, Superman, SpongeBob SquarePants, punk clothing, cool converse and Criminal Damage. The staff are all cool and trendy and sport face furniture and coloured hair. The shops always have a sale rail where you can pick up T's from $9.99. The have some huge sizes -3XL was the biggest T I saw there. This place is so cheap compared to the UK for this kind of outfitting. read more

I absolutely love Hot Topic. I've spent so much money in their stores it's ridiculous. The location in Glendale Galleria is my favorite but the one on Hollywood is a five minute walk from my work. I came here to exchange a gift and after waiting more than 15 minutes in line, I had to wait even more to ACTUALLY do the exchange. Huge slow line and two employees walking around completely ignoring it. Ended up leaving after 30 minutes of just waiting and going back and forth with the employee without doing the exchange because the rude employee started helping someone else. I'd rather go all the way to Glendale than come to this location ever again. read more

I love Hot Topic and have visited many, many locations. This would be the first time I received very poor service. The manager (the tall male with an accent) was very rude. I spent a good amount of money there that day too. He didn't smile once, brushed me off and acted annoyed when I tried to ask him questions. He was extremely rude. Horrible customer service.
