We weren't greeted, none of your employees on the floor bothered to even ask if we needed help looking for anything, we went to stand in line and the cashier walked off when we got there. Went here last summer, one of the workers, I assume manager? Followed me and my girlfriend around with the impression that we were going to steal. Asking if we're going to buy the things we're holding. And "if she could hold it for us so we can buy it at the counter". Made the entire experience uncomfortable and annoying for us so we left. Other than that the store is very crowded and tight, very claustrophobic atmosphere and the t-shirt catalogue is mid. read more

I love this store bc of the rare items they carry. But i hate their corporate rules.....so before Christmas i gonin there and all their Pokemon items were on sale buy one, get one for $1. I saw Trainer jackets that i liked but i didn't have my funds on me that day. I come back the next day and that deal is over. I asked them how long they keep their sales going and they tell me "We never know how long it lasts.....all we know is when we come in the next day corporate can tell us what sales to have." I'll share a secret with you...I used to be a T-shirt and jeans guy. But those were during my fat days. Yes there was a time where I tipped the scales at a whopping 260 lbs. And Hot Topic was where I used to shop for over-sized t's. It was a bad time for the empire... Recently, I visited Hot Topic as a last minute stop for a gift idea. I used to head straight for the back of the store and dig around through all of the sale items for a humorous cartoon shirt. Alas, I was able to find a sale section here as well, but no funny shirts. In fact, the only thing funny was the sale rack. It's tiny. And when I mean tiny, I mean Jiminy Cricket's cuff links tiny. Sales staff was virtually nonexistent. Whether Im looking for a popular 80s movie tee, getting my nerd on with Star Wars or Comic book heros, or sticking to my true passion of something dark and terrifying, I can usually find it all here. The prices are slightly higher than what I typically like to spend, but depending on the merchandise its worth it. They also have a lot of buy one get one free specials and usually offer a coupon for your next visit when you check out. I have notice that Spencers will carry some of the same or very similar products, so you may want to compare prices before you commit to buy. Went in expecting to receive one hot cash after my purchase and when I recieved my reciept I noticed there wasn't one stapled to it. I asked the girl Alexis and she said I didn't hit the total. My total was $29.90! She should've informed me before processing the transaction I needed 10 cents more for the hot cash! On January 4, 2022 my daughter and I went to the HOT TOPIC at Temecula Mall where she purchased a shirt. When we arrived back home my daughter noticed the security sensor was still attached to the shirt and by now the store was closed. The next day my daughter called Hot Topic and advised them of the situation and they said bring in your receipt and we will take care of it. My daughter advised that she had thrown the receipt away as she had no intention of ever returning the shirt. They then told her that they would still accommodate her. On January 6 we returned to the store where she was given a lot of grief and told they could not help her. My daughter then said you cant look up my receipt with my phone number? At this point the Sales associate became quiet, looked up her receipt and removed the security tag. As my daughter was turning to leave the sales associate places both of her hands up to her face and says "Next time keep your receipt." No apology, just placed the blame all on the customer, I guess that's Hot Topics' way of doing business. read more

The lady with pink hair and glasses were a extremely rude. I asked a simple question if they had a certain funko pop in there inventory before searching through 300 pops. And her response was "well your asking for a lot". First of all it's your job and the manager there tried defending her actions saying I should be more specific. How hard is it to type "game of thrones" into your computer not that hard at all. Get another job if that's to hard for you. Non ADA compliant. They refused to allow me in the dressing room when my under age child needed help because she didn't have the physical ability to pull the clothing over her head. When I told them this they still refused to allow me to help her. I have NEVER had this issue with any other hot topic. And have helped many differently abled friends and family in the past. I usually do NOT step into any Hot Topics because I fear the people with stretched earlobes, facial piercings, and neck tattoos, no matter how much I long for the band merch inside Hot Topic. My perspective on Hot Topic changed when I decided to step in this one after seeing a sign displaying "$3.99 Hot Mess Clearance" Clearance? HECK YEAH! Upon entering this store, a friendly sales associate greeted me and explained their current sales. Very friendly staff. Although I found nothing in the clearance, I stepped on over to the Band tshirt section and it was crammed to the max with different band merch ranging from Motionless in White, Pierce the Veil, Attila, Avenged Sevenfold, and The Devil Wears Prada. Endless variety. I picked up 2 shirts seeing that it was BOGO 50℅ off. Cool beans. Then I saw "Get $15 Hot Cash when you spend $30." Seeing that both shirts totaled $30, I gave myself an imaginary high five. Score. Just before proceeding to the cash register, I see a creepy cat belt on clearance for $5.99. And another belt I liked. Turns out it was BOGO for $1. Yes! Definitely recommend Hot Topic. If you hate that loud blaring music and the people with piercings and tats, get over it. Walk in, no greet, they tend to avoid eye contact at times, this has happened several times before (same goes for my friends around town) and I thought it might have been me but I should have read the reviews before hand. Nobody really talks to you on the sales floor, walked in a few times and it looked like the workers just talk to eachother while I thought perhaps one would be a customer but nope. Both behind the counter, both seemed bothered to be ringing me up. They need a new team. This store has cool accessories & fun items that I love but the store takes forever every time I visit. The line always moves slowly. Today I came to pick up an item I already purchased & there was only one person working. The line was long & many customers on the floor. I had to wait 1/2 hour for the person at the register to help me. I had to pick up a different item same day at Box Lunch which sells similar stuff & picked it up right away. They also always have usually 4 people working in that store & it is always quicker than Hot Topic. I definitely recommend going to Box Lunch over Hot Topic! read more

I wanted to update my review. I just went to Hot Topic to buy some costume shirts for work. The service was fantastic despite how busy they were. I was originally going to get Power Rangers shirts for the squad, but unfortunately there weren't much sizes left. Can't complain, it's the day before Halloween. The employees there were very helpful with making sure my stuff wasn't mixed up with the other customers' and in quickly allowing me to use the fitting room. After finally getting all the sizes I needed for the squad, I made my way over to the line. It went by quickly. Even better, I got 50% off because I was getting costumes. Amazing deal! Every time i go in here there is one particular employee who follows you around and does not stop talking! It makes me so uncomfortable I have to leave. They do not let you take your own time to shop for one minute. Also, i saw a supervisor or manager reprimand an employee when they were trying to help me. I have a problem when a big company like hot topic stops a young girl from getting a job by lying about why she left the job they weren't giving her enough hours so she left the job .Now they are going and telling other employers that she just walked out that is not very professional . People should just mind there own business and stop messing with other people lives . We should be helping our young not destroying there reputation with false truths. Merchandise is cool and cute, but super overpriced. Sometimes they're super overstaffed, and they send different people to check up on you. Everything in there is super crowded. The store usually has a weird, perfume scent, and it is always dimly lit. Four stars for merch and customer service. read more

It may be the same ol' Hot Topic but the customer service at the Temecula Promenade Mall location is outstanding. I was worried about not being able to get my hands on an exclusive figure that was coming out due to having a life saving transplant so I called this location to see if they could locate and hold the figure for me. Elena was who answered the phone and not only found the figure for me, but said she would hold it until I could come down the next day and pick it up. When I arrived at the store not only had Elena set aside a few figures for me, she pulled out this HUGE ladder and climbed to the top of the display to check to see if they had any more of the specific Pop! Vinyl figures I collected. She then spent an additional 20 minutes or more with me looking up a UPC or skew number for an exchange I had. All this while the store was very busy and she never took her attention off helping me until I was done. If this is the kind of great service that I can expect at Hot Topic, then I will be shopping in person and less online more often!!! read more

I'm not one to complain but my experience at this store made me leave almost in tears. It was my birthday and I went in with my boyfriend because he bought me a riverdale shirt that did not fit me so I wanted to exchange it for something other than clothing. We see a blanket high enough that we can't reach a sales lady gets it for us but seemed like she was busy so I didn't want to bug her too much. I found other things so i put it right with the other riverdale items. We go up to the register and the other sales lady has to call the lady that got the blanket for us to do the exchange. And right off she's like oh you didn't buy this here. And said you're gonna make this complicated for me like we were causing her too much trouble. Then she's like where's the blanket and my boyfriend says with the other riverdale things and she's like next time just give it to us, if you can ask us to get it you can ask us to put it back. I felt like she was treating us like children and talking down to us. I didn't just set it somewhere I put it with the other riverdale items. I work in a big discounted store and customers throw items on the floor and I would never talk down to customers and if I did I would get in trouble. I didn't even move it to a different section of the store. I just don't understand how someone would think it's ok to talk to a customer like the way she did. read more

I hardly come to this location due to the fact that i live in corona but late friday night (10/2/15) i came to return some boots that i had ordered online. The guy who helped me was SO rude. Im assuming he had to be the manager or lead or something of that nature because once i had stated that i had a return another female employer had stepped back to let him take over and help me. I didnt get his name but i wish i did to report to his manager. He had such attitude as if i was bugging him while he had better places to be and better things to do. There was NO ONE else in the store. The mall was about to close soon. I will never shop or step foot in this location ever again. read more

Purchased a shirt as a Xmas gift online and pickup at the store in Temecula. I asked the clerk if size 1 was for young women and she said yes. The size was too big so tried to return at the store and the clerk said I needed to bring in the credit card used and she saw my online receipt. Came back the next day with the card and Amy M. hostile associate said I needed the receipt that came with the package but I did not get a receipt and did not think about it since I had my online receipt. She was very hostile and bad no customer service attitude. I understand this is an edgy store but show some respect to adults buying gifts and honor the return policy. To the public don't buy gifts here there is a hostile attitude for returns and I was the only one in line returning. I waited a few days after Xmas so there was no long line and three people working. I understand these are seasonal people but the management here must be slow not to train them in customer service. Public consider this a fraud and one way purchase and don't purchase online because they are hostile about returns. Walmart does not need a receipt on online returns the card is in the system and understand this is a low level retail but if they accept online you would think the info was in the computer. Also gave me hassle about the online receipt. Is the corporation low IQ to provide a online receipt with is worthless. Don't shop here and don't buy gifts at this store they are hostile to customers who return things. read more
