Doesn't everyone miss sit-down Chinese restaurants? But HOT WOK carryout is the best alternative I've found, and the meals we've ordered there are prepared fresh, ready when promised, and are EXCELLANT! And they also deliver in their local area. They've got a four-page menu to include anyone's favorites, and lots of lunch and dinner specials. We have missed MOO SHO for years, and their HOUSE SPECIAL, with a couple of eggrolls on the side, is the best EVER (ask for extra pancakes)! We're going to try everything now. read more

new owners/cooks? we ordered just like we did from previous people cooking. The hot n sour soup was horrible, only one tiny piece of tofu, raw mushroo pieces it was worst I ever had. The fried dumplings was over cooked chewy like rubber. won ton soup was cold tastes different. the Mei fun does not taste the same I'm not sure what the extra smell of something is & why so salty. this used to be our favorite Chinese food until long time previous people left we were so afraid to order any food. We finally ordered food tonight & now it was our last time. the quality is not the same it's like eating old food. who is the real owner of Hot Wok they need to know it's horrible food now! read more

I ordered soup six months ago and when I opened up the container and poured it into a bowl I noticed something and I'm like what is it it looks like some sort of a seasoning or a seat of some sort so I removed it from the soup a few of them and looked under the microscope and lo and behold it was a cockroach it had claws and legs that really creeped me out, haven't ordered Chinese food since. read more

I used to live close and was in there once a week. I like that they have brown rice (not just white and fried.) I watched their cute kids grow up (one told me they weren't taught to speak Chinese, they only hear it when mom and grandma want to talk privately, lol.) Then I moved farther away and it was no longer convenient. During the pandemic and using delivery I ordered from them more often again. I will still go pick up from there occasionally on a Monday when my much closer Chinese Restaurant is closed. I'm one of the people that doesn't like my cooked broccoli to crunch, so maybe they've heard the request for squishy too much from their customers and you have to specify crunchy now instead. I've never had problems with allergies from eating their food or being in their restaurant (like from a Japanese place I used to go to - I'm allergic to cockroaches.) Great take out. We ordered healthy choice.. Steamed chicken and mixed vegetables. Delicious and fresh. Also ordered crab Rangoon and dumplings also very good. No MSG is important to me and they cooked without it. Food was plentiful and reasonably priced. Atmosphere needs improvement and owners kids were running around and noisy but it was take- out so I was glad not to eat there. read more

My friend made a big deal on Facebook about this place, specifically their General Tso's Chicken. I now question her taste in food. he did add it was close to home, so I think it was more distance then the food taste or quality. The chicken wasn't crispy at all, extremely soggy, sauce tasted strange, broccoli was overcooked last week when they seemed to have made it. The crab rangoon was okay, and the house special egg foo young was good and full of shrimp. I will return for the House Special Egg Foo Young. This is the MOST expensive Chinese carry out I have seen in the Tampa Bay area, and it closes earlier than all the others. They are on notice for my business... read more

Chinese fast food restaurants seem to be on every corner and the really good ones are hard to come by. That being said Hot Wok isn't bad... it just is. Staff is friendly, helpful, and get the food out pretty quick for a walk in order. Steamed dumplings were also just kind of there and nothing great to write home about and could have used a little more time steaming. Honey chicken wasn't bad but also it wasn't "OMG". All and all it will fill you up but sadly it just leaves you wanting for more. read more

Since it is very close to my home, I have tried Hot Wok every 6 to 12 months for years. The food continues to disappoint. It looks and tastes stale. (Aren't water chesnuts supposed to be a little cruchy, not soft & soggy?) As much as I try to like this place, I just don't. This place is not good. It seems as if their chicken is reconstituted. It is clear that food is not the passion of anyone involved here. There is usually a big stack of cardboard boxes in the dinning area. I threw away the last meal i purchased from here because it was so greasy and bad. read more
