Instead of apologizing for the delay, I was told, "We're not going to cancel it. The pizza just got in the oven." I explained that I had placed the order more than an hour earlier. The response was dismissive: "No, you haven't been waiting that long." What was most frustrating wasn't even the wait--it was the attitude. Mistakes happen, but good customer service means acknowledging the mistake, apologizing, and trying to make it right. Instead, I felt like I was being blamed for their mistake.
