Pros: - Vintage-styled hotel with great service!! Staff was super kind and welcoming throughout our stay. - Rooftop bar!! Apparently they're one of the few places in Monterey to have one. - Complimentary breakfast! Make sure to reserve a time slot with the front desk the day before. No walk-in seating for breakfast. Meal is selected off a menu and made to order. Not buffet style which we appreciated. The lemon pancakes are bomb.com. My hub and I still talk about how yummy they were. Con's: - Super tiny parking lot in the back with only about 6 spaces? If you don't wanna pay for parking, you're welcome to park on the street nearby. - Our room had its quirks. The sink wobbled easily, the shower curtain didn't cover the whole tub so water would spray out on one end, and each night I'd wake to a rhythmic ticking/clicking sound every 10-20min or so around 3-4am? 'twas strange. - No AC. However, most of Monterey doesn't have AC units since it's not needed most of the time. Even with the cons, the hotel was clean, staff was attentive/sweet, and it has many enjoyable amenities!! We would stay here again just to enjoy another delicious breakfast with them or dine on the rooftop bar!

Such a great spot! Loved the location and the beautiful view. The rooftop restaurant was fantastic, and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. Big thanks to Tony for making our stay so specialwe'll definitely be back!

Cannot stay anywhere else since we found this place! I always forget to take pictures of the rooms but they are always amazing, very comfortable beds, a beautiful bathtub- confirmed fits two people.. service is incredible, it's an immediate warm welcome coming in the front door. The roof top bar is a must and breakfast so intimate and beautiful. Two stays so far, already planning the next trip!

Had a very nice trip to Monterey in this charming hotel! Hotel 1110 is full of old charm, and the owner and manager were very hospitable and friendly! We had our complimentary breakfast this morning with some toast with homemade marmalade (yum!) and many cups of coffee. 10/10 experience, I hope that we get to come by again in the future!

These guys must write their own reviews. It is a dump. Peeling paint on the walls, the outlet covers aren't attached and kept falling off when I opened the very poorly hung and dingy curtains. There is exposed plumbing in the weird shower....they must have got them on clearance. The room smelled musty and I asked for a fan. It took 15-20 minutes for the person at the front desk to find me one and he handed me a filthy blade fan that stunk. The manager got me a new fan when I went back to the desk and told him the one I got had an odor. Turns out there was a fan in the closet of the room. Why didn't they just tell me that? The front desk guy had been giving me coffee for a couple mornings (you can't go in to the restaurant unless you have a reservation) so I drank my coffee in the lobby...no big deal (there was a kid in the restaurant, which is odd for an adults-only hotel) and the third morning I went to the lobby and he wasn't there. I was told you can't get coffee before 8:00 AM. Wow. It was over $900.00 for four nights. I asked to check out on the first day and was told it was non-refundable. The floor was gritty and you could see that it hadn't been mopped in a while. This place is gross. I did go to the rooftop restaurant. It advertised lamb kebab, so that's what I ordered. It was ground gyro meat. Not lamb. I asked about the lamb burger and they said it's the same. Not lamb. They only way to get lamb is to order the lamb chops. Why lie on the menu? It's not lamb. It's gyro meat. The location is OK. It's across the street from a junk yard but an easy walk to the wharf. Overall, this place is awful.

Service was exceptional! Rooftop vibes in Monterey are top tier! Great cocktails! I ordered the Sneaky Link! The steak was a lil tuff but the fries were amazing. The lava cake dessert with pistachios cream was the best wash

My wife found this place on Airbnb, but they also take reservations on their website. Prices are quite reasonable, some nearby places go for almost double. This place is to be described as a boutique hotel/ bed and breakfast mainly tailored for couples. Elegant rooms with antique furniture fits a building from 1925. Reservation includes free breakfast, serving popovers and breakfast menu. They also have a wine and spirits bar in the check in desk and ice cold water with glasses in the lobby. Some people may dislike the no mini fridge or coffee maker in the rooms, but the amenities are downstairs (above mentioned), an upstairs restaurant which I also reviewed recently, and coffee is also served with breakfast. Room was cozy and equipped with a fireplace heater, fan, bathrobes, hairdryer and jetted bathtub and shower. We had our window facing a mural but the hotel is quiet and walls are apparently soundproof. Staff was friendly, always greeting us with a hello and asking how are we doing. This place was enjoyable and we booked it for our first wedding anniversary. It exceeded our expectations, staying in a cozy and romantic hotel. I'd recommend and I would return!

Room 203. For reference, I got the cheapest available.

Hotel 1110 is a gem. I stayed for 2 nights while on a work trip, chosen for its lower price than nearby competition and proximity to work. Tony at the desk was incredible and provided excellent service, and always with a smile. The included (if booked directly) breakfast was amazing, full sit down with freshly made eggs, hot breakfast popovers, ricotta lemon pancakes, fresh coffee, etc. The upstairs bar has amazing views of the bay and sunset, not to mention a perfect steak frites and heat lamps to enjoy the sunset. Right on the bay and an easy place to start a beach walk, with paths all the way to cannery row if you're up for it. Huge bathrooms and cute old rooms. That said, I got the cheapest room possible (I am told it was the smallest in the entire hotel) and the room was fairly small, bed was old, there was a fair bit of road noise, and street parking only though fairly convenient. This would normally preclude me from staying again. On the contrary, I would definitely come stay with Tony and Hotel 1110 again any time I am in Monterey.

I'm giving 5 stars because I had a very pleasant stay. Despite the old and dark hallways from other reviews... I didn't mind it. I made reservations for my 20 years anniversary. What caught my attention was the room decor (305). The day of check-in, parking was limited of 4 cars and is first come first base kinda thing unless you reserve a spot for a few $. Walked through the back entrance and yes! It was a dark hallway. When came upon the manager of the day, he just asked me for my ID. He then asked what time I would like to reserve for a complimentary breakfast which is I think from 8am - 9:30am. Then he handed me the keys to my room and explained things. Went to the 3rd floor & walked into a nice cleaned room with a King size bed, a electric heated fireplace, a jacuzzi, a jetted shower, bidet toilet and Bluetooth mirror in the bathroom. Everything seems to up to date. Decided to have dinner at the rooftop. Restaurant- Lindarose. Was seated by the owner, Dr. Nick. A very nice view and he turned on an individual heater for each patron that are seated. Food was on par and delicious! Their alcohol drink was good. I ordered a Greek Salad (fresh and light ), entree- chicken kebab with rice pilaf and steak with fresh cut fries. Dessert had cheesecake kinda taste like cream brûlée. Breakfast was downstair dining room. Got seated and waiter gave us option of coffee or orange juice or both. Then he brought each a bread with butter and blood orange jams while we were waiting for our food. Ordered pancakes with bacon and fresh fruits, soft eggs with toast, avocado, sausage, and fresh fruits. Was delicious. Remember to bring some tip money for your server! Overall, my experience was wonderful. Would come back =]

I loved Hotel 1110. It was a cute, charming boutique hotel steps. The location is perfect. Steps from the beach, across the street from a nice lake/park, 7 minute walk to downtown, 15 minute walk to Cannery Row, 10-15 minute drive to Carmel. Tony at the front desk was very nice. Their breakfast in the morning wasn't expensive and they served great food, strong coffee, and they offered a complimentary pastry with home made blueberry jam. The bed was comfortable and the shower was really nice. Lastly, the rooftop restaurant/bar. Although, I didn't take advantage of it, I went upstairs to take a look before I left back to Los Angeles. Stunning view of the ocean and just as charming as the hotel. I would definitely return. I've added three pictures (one of the lobby, two of the rooftop bar and view).

My boyfriend and I were very surprised to find a last minute reservation for New Year's Eve. We stayed in room 206, the Roman room, and it was so cute! It had a jetted tub (however I will warn that the drain stopper did not work, so we kept losing water", and a private patio. Tony checked us in, and even carried our suitcase up to the second floor for us. They give you actual keys, which we thought was super cool. The room was pretty small, but we expected it since the hotel is more of a bed and breakfast type place. Speaking of breakfast, it was a made to order, restaurant type of experience. Very cool! Tony was also our waiter the next morning for breakfast. And breakfast was pretty good. I got the breakfast tacos and my boyfriend got the eggs and toast with apple chicken sausage- his was better than mine but mine was still tasty for a free breakfast! My boyfriend had prearranged roses and chocolate covered strawberries, and those were set up in the room prior to our arrival. The only thing to note is Tony asked we leave the vase- so just know if you order the roses you don't get to keep the vase lol. The only con I'd say would be how hot the room was. There is no thermostat in the room, but there is a little Dyson desk fan in the closet that we plugged in and cracked the door, and it helped cool the room off. One more con for us, but might work for you, is how soft the beds are. We are more into firm mattresses, but it won't keep us from returning!! We will definitely be returning, we want to try out some other themed rooms!

Ask the Community - Hotel 1110

Can you eat on the rooftop without having to book a room?

I was torn about whether to stay in Carmel by the Sea or Monterey so when I did a google search for hotels and saw this one had great reviews I picked it. I was on day 9 of my trip, was exhausted and flying back to New York the next day so I really just wanted a quality, safe, clean, nice hotel to end my trip and that didn't happen. The hotel is massive, it gave me real old school, resort vibes. Enormous lobby with televisions, dark wood chairs, giant bar and restaurant but it was horribly outdated. I mean, green carpet, I felt like I was back in the 90's. I checked in they could not find my reservation. I had booked on hotel tonight and they asked me what kind of room I booked. I told them one with a view and a manager came out and told me they didn't have any ocean view rooms. It was 10:30 at night, at this point I didn't care I just wanted to go to sleep. Eventually, after waiting at the front desk for a half hour they were able to locate my reservation. In the meantime I had left my luggage with the bell hop. They told me they would bring my suitcase up for me. I asked the guy to take it out of my trunk because I had just had surgery and couldn't do any lifting. Remember that for later. They gave me directions to my room and I couldn't believe the path I had to take to get there. Elevator up to the fourth floor, then I had to walk down an extremely long hallway, down another hall to ANOTHER elevator. Then I was to take that elevator DOWN a floor to get to my room. It felt like a joke. It was so unbelievably inconvenient. Throughout my journey to my room I noticed all of the windows in the hallway were cracked open. I realized quickly this was to air out the moldy musky smell of the hotel that desperately needed renovating. The carpet was filthy. My hotel room was so bleh. So outdated, the bed was so high I had to jump out of it my feet didn't touch the ground and I'm 5'8. The furniture was old, the carpet, I wouldn't take my socks off. I set up the luggage rack right in the front of the room so that when the bellhop brought my luggage up he could rest it on there for me since I made it clear I couldn't lift. I saw two bugs when I pulled down the comforter and at that point I was done. I went down to the front desk and told them about the bugs and that I wanted a new room. They couldn't help me. Completely ignored my request so I called the booking agency to tell them what was going on. I went back up to my room and saw my luggage in my room, horizontal on the floor despite the luggage rack being open and set up, right, next to it. Cool. I had to call someone up just to lift my luggage onto the rack because again, couldn't lift, post-surgical, made that clear. Whatever. Long story short by this time it was 11:30 pm I just wanted to sleep so I did that and left first thing in the morning. This hotel has absolutely no business charging the rates that they do. None. I would not stay here again.

Hotel staff were very friendly and professional. This time we had the oceanfront room with the sofa bed. Beautiful views, of course, from the balcony. The room was clean, however there is an ant problem in the bathroom. It was not too bad, but we still weren't thrilled to see an ant here and there crawling on our things in the bathroom. It is strange that they use cloth shower curtains, so every time you take a shower they get soaked. Some toiletries are provided, but not as many as they used to. They used to give lotion, shower caps, shower gel, etc. Now it's just bar of soap, shampoo and conditioner. The bathroom is nice, though, with double sinks. Sofa bed worked out great for our 8 year old. She said it was comfortable, and we were also comfortable in the king size bed, which had a firm mattress. It can get noisy in the room with the balcony door open due to the seals and seagulls, but closing the door blocks most of the sound. We kept it open in the day and shut it when we went to bed. Breakfast - well, I guess you can't really complain too much when it's complimentary with the room, but it's really nothing to write home about. Hard boiled eggs, fruit plate, yogurt, and some muffins. Me, being a diabetic, I couldn't really eat any of it, except the eggs. Our daughter enjoyed it, though she is pretty easygoing. We had been hoping to save some money by eating breakfast at the hotel but we ended up eating breakfast out every day we were there. Be prepared to do A LOT of walking because this hotel is at the very end of Cannery Row -- although it's great exercise, and gave us a chance to work off all the calories from our meals. lol. The room was nice, we'd probably stay there again. One thing we were disappointed about was the hotel used to offer a discount if you bought aquarium tickets through them. They no longer do that. They also used to offer free bottled water in the room, which they also no longer do.

When we decided to extend our stay by an extra night, our harbor-view room wasn't available for the additional night, but they went out of their way to make it work so we didn't have to switch rooms. We really appreciated that! Parking was also very reasonably priced at $25, especially compared to other hotels in the area. The room itself was spacious, the bed was very comfortable (firm, just how we like it), and the harbor view was absolutely perfect. We were a little concerned after reading reviews about the sea lions being noisy, but we actually loved hearing them from the balcony! Once the balcony door was closed, we couldn't hear them at all, and they never disturbed our sleep. One of our favorite perks was the complimentary binoculars available to guests--they were a fun touch for watching the harbor. And don't miss the sunrise from the fourth-floor rooftop terrace--it's absolutely beautiful! There were just a few minor things that could be improved. The hotel only has one elevator, and it can be quite slow during busy times. We also wish the freshly baked cookies were available throughout the day. They were put out around 3:00 p.m., but they disappeared almost immediately because they were so popular. When we arrived, our room temperature was around 78°F. We called the front desk to ask about the A/C and were told someone would come up. Security arrived and explained that the hotel doesn't have air conditioning, so the options are to use the fan or open the balcony door. It would have been helpful if the front desk had shared that information when we called. We left the screened balcony door open while we were out the next day, and the room cooled down nicely. The only other thing we wished the room had was a microwave. Overall, these were very minor issues compared to everything we loved about our stay. The location, views, comfortable rooms, and outstanding customer service made for a wonderful experience.

This was our second time staying in Monterey and I had been looking forward to staying at this hotel someday. It was everything I imagined and more! The service was exceptional from the valet to the bellhop to registration and restaurant staff. We are also IHG elite members and we were given a room upgrade with a thoughtful card and gift for our anniversary. Our room was facing the ocean on Cannery Row with a balcony. It was a very nice, spacious and clean room with alot of thoughtful attention like providing refillable water bottles, robes and an amazing Nespresso machine. There was also a wine bar and snacks available for purchase. The hotel had a wonderful scent throughout and we enjoyed walking through the ocean vibes staircase featuring a jellyfish. Definitely look for that! We loved having our anniversary dinner at The C Restaurant, but that will be another well earned review on it's own. However, we did have two negative experiences, one was that we waited a bit too long for our car at the valet once and there was an accidental spa charge on our receipt when checking out. I still gave them 5 stars because they rectified it right away and even removed the valet charge for us, which was much appreciated. I would love to come back to this hotel someday to bring my parents and we hope you love it too!!

No driving needed at all! We opted for valet since it's the same price as self parking, and from the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding. The valet team and front desk staff were all incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making check-in smooth and stress free. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the ocean views from our room were a huge highlight. The room was very clean and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed and more. The fireplace, tub, and private deck really elevated the whole experience. It was also great having a spa and restaurant right on site, adding even more convenience and relaxation to our stay. Overall, this has been one of the best hotel experiences we've had. We visit Monterey Bay often, and we'll definitely be staying here again!

If you have mobility issues I would not recommend this hotel without confirming you have one of the rooms with elevator access. You should also understand that you will need to walk your bags to your room up and down stairs to your room. There is a massive upside to this hotel. It is right next to the Monterey Plaza Hotel with costs at least $1,200 a night to stay at. This hotel is about $300 a night. While this hotel is not fancy, it is clean, comfortable, and has FREE PARKING. As long as you have no mobility issues or can guarantee an accessible room, this hotel is a great option for getting around Monterey and Cannery Row.

Toddler Notes for the Hotel: [[ Pro's ]] 1.) The room we got on the 3rd floor corner was very spacious and had a ton of room. We were able to set up a pack and play and still had a generous amount of room left to walk around. 2.) Blackout shades and see-through shades for double coverage which keeps the room nice and dark at night. 3.) Location is great as it's super close to Cannery Row, lots of restaurants, and Monterey Bay Aquarium which was our ultimate destination. 4.) Parking Garage is free and decently sized and can fit a mid-size SUV with no issues. It will get tighter if you have a humongous full-SUV though (see pictures). [[ Con's ]] 1.) So Many STAIRS. Like legitimately, there are so many stairs. I took a ton of pictures to give you an idea. Stairs coming down from the elevator, stairs between floors, etc. This is not very young kid friendly when you have a stroller, a bunch of kid items, etc. I'm not sure I would stay here again due to the amount of stairs and inconvenience. 2.) Noise Level - If your kid is sensitive to noise, be prepared to have a ton of sound machines because you really could hear a ton of things. Cars, honking, other people's rooms, etc. 3.) Shower - It did seem a bit rusty in certain places and our shower wouldn't drain so there was a big puddle the whole time we were showering. The steam also set off the fire alarm like another person mentioned. Quick conclusion - I think it's an okay IHG hotel but not very good for families with young kids. Good for the location though.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had a warm charm that made it easy to relax after a day of exploring the city. One of the highlights of our stay was how the hotel carried such a unique atmosphere and history. It wasn't just a place to sleep--it felt like part of the adventure. Between the ocean views, cozy spaces, and local touches, it really captured the spirit of Monterrey. And then there were the ghost stories. Whether you're a believer or just love a good tale, they add an extra layer of fun and mystery to the stay. If you're someone that believes (or not), go to the front desk and ask for the "book". It had 78 pages of first hand accounts of unexplained happenings from guests. We had a very small moment ourselves, while I was sharing what I uncovered about the ghosts with my significant other in the morning, suddenly the bathroom light just turned on. Nobody was around and they do run on sensors. Not a significant event but certainly was well timed. Overall, Hotel Del Monte struck the perfect balance between comfort, history, and a touch of playful spookiness. I would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Monterrey that has access to a military installation--especially if you're looking for more than just a hotel, but a memorable experience.

The person helping us said we could buy water bottles from the mini mart, and her manager said that the gym had some water for the sink, shower, toilets that we could use. We kept checking front desk about the water repair and they said the repair timeline was pushed back. We were asleep when at 12:30am the fire alarm went off in the main building where we're staying and didn't turn off until 1am. We were told these emergency repairs have happened before. The hotel is on the flight path and the plane flies so low that you feel like you're on the runway. It is very loud. Continental breakfast wasn't that great. We were told that we can only line up once. It was $178/night, so I'm not sure it was worth it.
