This was our 2nd annual girls trip in the Rancho Riposo unit. This year we had 8 women and 3 dogs. The unit has 5 bedrooms with a total of 7 beds and 2 1/2 baths. The huge totally fenced yard was perfect for the dogs and playing ping pong and other outdoor games. We're all friends through pickleball and hiking which we enjoyed one or both on our 3 night stay. We did most of our eating at the unit by assigning meals for each night... great food!!! The kitchen is well stocked making do with what we found. There's a nice big table in the dining room we could all fit around and the living room is spacious with an enormous couch. The staff is friendly and accommodating! For 8 women and 3 dogs I don't think we caused any trouble or were too loud... just the sound of laughter and fun! Hopefully we can make it a yearly event!!! read more

Perfect place to stay for families! We had 7 kids ranging from 18mo to 10yo and the fenced in backyard of the Rancho Reposo cottage is the perfect setup and had enough table space for all 17 of us! We also spread across to Casa Linda, which was very nice too with a big living room. The beach is a 10min walk away. Would definitely come back! read more

We stayed 5 nights and were very pleased. The staff are personable and helpful, our 2 BR 1 Bath was well appointed, very clean, spacious and well stocked with necessities in the kitchen. Andril's was a yearly visit for the family for a long while. With life and the loss of some key family members, visits became farther apart, and this past November, when we lost our mother, her final wish was that we revisit the old cabin, bring family and friends together, and celebrate being together. Both my sister and I stayed at Rancho Reposo in the late 70's as kids, and some of the other cabins in the 80s as teenagers. All that remains are faded photos and a ton of memories, so this past weekend was full of nostalgia. We introduced people to someplace new and flooded a few memory banks with new adventures and walks on the beach. The rental process was super easy, the accommodations were all that we remembered, and our pup loved it too! The house was pretty well stocked with supplies, so a quick trip to the local grocery store got us everything else we desired. This was truly a flawless weekend away and was exactly what our mom would have appreciated. I think we're all committed to returning every year, as we did as kids. read more

Enjoyed our private cottage retreat, their continental breakfast & afternoon snacks, hot tub, morning local newspaper daily at your front doorstep, fireplace, location (close to the beach) & friendly family business/service. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is the bed pillows were very uncomfortable and even caused a neck pain and headache. Therefore, I highly recommend staying here, just be sure to bring your own pillows. Also, we discovered they have a large well maintained grassy area with sitting areas to relax or play behind some of the cottages for everyone to enjoy. The booking process was smooth and check-in was easy. I liked the privacy of the cottages and the convenience of full kitchen. The location was great! It was a quick walk to the beach. If you stay here, check out the restaurant Fishwife just up the road. My favorite part of the trip was the deer grazing on the lawn at dusk. read more

Told the person on the phone that we stayed on our honeymoon at Andril 31 years ago. There was silence on the phone. She was all business and couldn't wait to get off the phone to me. For what you pay to stay there, courtesy goes a long way. I figured everyone is entitled to a bad day though. When we arrived she was very rough around the edges, curt and crass. She was holding her dog which she said hates people. She definitely does not belong in customer service that's for sure. She was very thorough about everything and did a walk though of our cabin. The cleanliness was the best I have ever seen even in the best hotels. They provide hand Sanitizer and the cottage we had had a separate kitchen stocked with pots and pans and other things to make it homey. Very well decorated . Bed was so comfortable and pillows were perfect. The one thing that I found strange was the pempto bismol colored handsoap. By the sink it was handsoap but in the shower, it was shampoo! See pictures. Bottom line, we won't be back. I remember the simple cabins with wood floors. I remember waking up to seeing deer in the meadow and extreme silence. It really felt like we were in the woods in a rustic cabin. Now it feels like you're in a magazine. I get that you have to keep up with the times but now it feels like a hotel rather than a cottage. It lost it's charm that i fell in love with and that made it stand out. read more

We recently stayed in cottage 22 (2 bd/1 ba) with our two dogs. This was our third stay and each time we have had a different size cottage. At Andril they do a great job keeping the grounds in beautiful condition and the units clean. The second bedroom in cottage 22 is quite small but we liked the backdoor in that room to let the dogs outside to the nice sized "backyard" which had nice seating areas for us. They were quick to respond to our requests. Love the location near Asilomar State Beach. Our favorite getaway spot! We appreciate that they are dog friendly at Andril. read more

Pro: definitely one of the closest to beach dog friendly cottages in the area. Con: I've stayed here several times over the years. The last couple of times I've been here, I've been placed in cottage 25. BOTH of these times I had a MAYOR ant swarming in this cottage. Mind you, I only left out the dog water bowl (not food) What bums me out is the lady that is there in the morning, both times was like "oh well" it is what it is we are I the forest it happens-I'll send over housekeeping- no apologies- Yesterday it took 3 TIMES in one day for them to come out and get rid of the ants- The gentleman in the evening, finally found the ant trail outside and when he treated it, the ants no longer were in the cottage...AND I spent most of the day OUT of the $365 plus tax a night room I paid for...because there were ants EVERYWHERE in the living room where the bed is The gentleman that I believe is the owner, offered to put me in another room (and wine) but being that I was leaving the next morning and on medication I did not accept either... I did not want to cart all my stuff into another cottage... with just a few hours to go I don't think they should charge that much for rooms that are ant infested!!! This is sad to me because this was my mini vacation and it was expensive for me -to not be able to use the room for almost a full day. Bums me out - Andrill-I think you can do better. read more

We go to Andril Fireplace Cottages at least 4 times a year with our 2 dogs. We usually stay a week or 2. We love it there and are treated like family. We have been going there for about 8 years now and will not stay anywhere else. It's our home away from home. We may go out to eat once (for clam chowder) but always like to BBQ and sit and play cards in the fenced in yards at each cottage. They are very dog friendly and the staff is very nice!! I highly recommend this place if you can book a cottage (they are almost always booked) read more

Wonderful, quiet location with lovely, comfortable cottages. They've thought of everything: welcoming landscaping, spotless grounds, comfortable beds, wood-burning fireplace and even a full kitchen. Our Celtic Harp group, Harpers Hall, held our annual retreat at Andril Fireplace Cottages and had a wonderful experience! The staff was friendly, helpful, and available to us, and the facilities were ideal for our group. We were in the two large cottages, Rancho Reposo and Casa Linda, and in addition one two-bedroom cottage. We played our harps in Rancho Reposo's large living room and ate our larger meals in Casa Linda's living room. The kitchen in Casa Linda was large enough for several people to be preparing meals, while the living room, with the help of a few folding tables, converted nicely into a dining and visiting area. We also enjoyed great weather and brought harps out to the enclosed front yard of Rancho Reposo for some of our music sessions. We were so happy, we've booked for next year and added another night! read more

Great place to stay, very nice staff, very clean facility, comfortable bed, and easy parking.

Staff are friendly, respectful, and accomodate special requests. The grounds are impeccably maintained by Antonio. There is a large outdoor grill and dining area for guests to use. Rooms are exceptionally well maintained, beds very comfortable with an assortment of pillow types, crisp sheets. Kitchens equipped well with good quality items. There were two Jacuzzi tubs in the two rooms I have stayed in-- maybe most rooms have Jacuzzis. Outdoor hot tub is very clean. What makes this place very special for me is their welcoming attitude towards dogs. We go to Andril's to get away from fireworks at home, as do many other guests. The guest dogs are well behaved with caring owners. The big grassy area for on-leash dogs has plenty of outdoor games for adults and children. read more

This place was perfect for us and our 2 Dachshunds. The cottage (#15) and grounds were amazing and having a fenced private patio we could let the dogs out in was a huge plus. What was really impressive is arriving to our cottage seeing a bottle of wine and basket of treats to help us celebrate our anniversary. I must have mentioned we were coming over to celebrate and they thoughtfully remember. That is the kind of customer service that will leave a lasting impression. I stayed here while my house was being worked on in 2018 and it was a great experience. The cottages are very cozy and comfortable.

Over the years we've visited Pacific Grove, we tried staying at many of the motels close to Asilomar Beach and although some were more modern in their interiors compared to Andril Fireplace Cottages, we found the service, location and accommodations at Andril superior to the other places. In this most recent visit, I stayed at one of the cottages which was just right for what I wanted. Very comfortable bed, convenient kitchen, a desk (!!!), good chairs for reading/relaxing/watching TV at night, good maintenance people. The staff was excellent in providing attention and promptly helping when there was any need. Carrie at the front desk (along with her adorable Pomeranian O'Reilly) went above and beyond. Situated in Asilomar State park, the area is very "forest-y". We thought we'd give this place a try after reading the positive reviews and brought along our dogs (for an additional fee) as this place is pet friendly. Once we arrived, we parked outside the office to check in. The front desk person was welcoming and very nice. She directed us to our cottage. To our dismay, it is not a cottage at all. It is a room attached to the office on one side and another room on the other side. You can sometimes hear people in the office if they talk loud enough. The room was quaint and clean. Some parts of it had been remodeled. The bed mattress was hard. The only sink is in the bathroom. If you need to wash dishes, etc., you have to use that sink. Dish soap and a scrub pad are provided under the vanity. The thermostat operates the fireplace. The room includes a tv, microwave, coffeemaker, plate ware, utensils, glasses, cups, paper towel roll. Wifi connection is good. The closet which backs up to one side of the office has an ironing board and luggage rack. Beware, it is an unfinished closet with dark wood, smells old and feels real creepy. The grounds are beautifully manicured and clean. We played ball with our dogs in the grassy lawn area; however the area was soggy leaving our dogs' paws muddy. For some odd reason, after we get out of the shower, our eyes and nose became irritated. Don't know if it's the heater/fireplace or allergies from mold in the room. It was an experience, and we always look forward to visit Pacific Grove. read more

Booked a king bed unit with hubs and our dogs for a week. First time in a unit without a stove but we made do with the microwave and fridge and keurig. Orion, the resident Pomeranian greeted us when we checked in.Gas fireplace very nice and didn't have to deal with smoke and ash. The bed was comfortable enough with a memory foam mattress. The love seat was also a sofa bed but we didn't use it. Hubs loved the powerful flush on the toilet. Every thing was very clean and everyone very friendly.The best we got was 2 bars on our phones so bad reception. They did give us a password for the Wifi but we didn't use it. We appreciated that they had an EV charger on the property but an inconsiderate person left their car parked unnecessarily long. Not a tragedy as we used the Tesla charger at a nearby Lucky store. Came to rest and relax and it was a wonderful getaway. We've been here previously and will continue to come back. The breakfast provided was sufficient for our needs but if you want a hot breakfast better to get a unit with a kitchen to make your own as they only provided a continental type breakfast. People seemed to enjoy the outdoor communal hot tub and table tennis, but we didn't use not use those facilities. Location perfect to go to Monterey and Carmel. read more

I was worried since the cottages were so close to each other and may hear everyone around you. You do but people were very respectful. We will be back for sure. read more

What a fantastic little place this is! It's an easy drive to Monterey Bay and there's a local beach just a walk away! And there are many scrumptious eateries a short drive away! So this place has individual cottages to rent. We stayed in a quaint, little cottage. The 2 full size beds are in the room you immediately walk into from the front door. It has a fireplace, closet with safe, and large TV. The bathroom has 1 sink and full shower (toilet included). Then there's a mini kitchen with dining table, apartment size fridge, and all the things you need for a kitchen (pots, pans, utensils, etc.). They do.provide daily room servicing, but you have the option to post the sign outside your door for no service for the day. Keep the sign up till later in the evening, as we learned they will come back later,.probably assuming that you wanted to sleep in late. We had removed the sign early evening and stepped.iut for dinner and the place was refreshed. There is wildlife roaming around. We saw a couple deer walking the street. The place is pet friendly, as we saw so many pups being walked around or playing in the community area. The office is stocked with movies, games, snacks, and breakfast items. This was a nice little treat so we didn't have to go to the grocery for snacks or worry about light breakfast items. Also, there were some fresh fruit and coffee available. Perfect for pets. We were delighted to find this spot to vacation with our dog on his 3rd birthday. Individual cottages with an enclosed area for pets. On check in we were given a tour and explained the rules by a very helpful owner of Orion. Beautiful grounds. BBQ shared area with tables and a small hot tub. Nice areas to sit and enjoy your morning coffee or evening wine. Big grassy area for dogs and a box of toys. Doggie bags are located throughout the grounds. Full kitchen and dining table in our unit. A continental breakfast was available each morning in the lobby that you could take back to your room. Snacks available all day. Short walk thru Asilomar grounds and across the street to Asilomar beach. Great place for walking your dog. There was even a hose and towels For washing the sand off. Ollie was in doggy heaven and had a dog gone amazing birthday. read more

This place was amazing! Tucked away in the heart of Pacific Grove, this has now become one of our top out of town escape destinations. We were greatly very warmly upon check in, given a lay of the land and then got a walking tour. By the time we unloaded our car, she ran out to say that she managed to get us cottages next to one another. These little cottages are fully stocked with a full kitchen, jetted tub, backyard with BBQ and a DVD player with over 1,000 movies to check in. They have a courtyard area also for BBQing along with ping pong and it is only one mile from Pacific Grove Golf Course. My only suggestion is if you decide to use the kitchen, bring a skillet as the pans were a little small and not non stick. Can't wait to come back soon. read more

Ok..........I will say it..........LOVE! I LOVE this place!!! My first time to Carmel/Pacific Grove, first time to Andril Cottages. This place has obvious pride in ownership. Their cottages have the perfect combination of vintage charm with seamless current upgrades. You get the best of both worlds. Wood burning fireplace (with wood provided), updated bathrooms, cozy floorplan with all the comforts of home. (Cable, wi-fi, comfy furniture ) The place is SUPER clean..............and yet they allow dogs!!! How is that possible!?!? They have some magical secret that they should license out. I checked in with a nice long haired guy. (Alex?) He took me to my cottage, gave me a brief tour, showed me a few things and discovered my private patio gate was not quite latching tight. Not problem........lickety-spilt........he grabs a screw driver, fixes it on the spot and my pupps are safe! It was such a joy to bring my dogs. Thank you for being so dog friendly. What a wonderful surprise! My first visit to Andril Fireplace Cottages with my dog, Ranger, was absolutely perfect. The cottage felt like home with a wood fireplace, a small full kitchen, a fenced patio for Ranger, and a comfortable sleeping area. Located behind Asilomar, this area offered many wonderful walking miles along the beach....all the way to Lover's Point Park and beyond. What a Gem of a find! Family owned and run, this precious dog friendly vacation spot was the perfect place for our quiet, restful, rejuvinating vacation. Beach walks, nightly hot tub soaks, playing with our dog in the big frisbee yard, cooking our dinner on the communal gas grill, a stocked kitchen, hot coffee and to go breakfasts each morning, sleeping with windows open to the cool coastal breeze and our own gas fireplace to turn on and off as needed to warm up our cottage, daily cottage house cleaning and excellent hygiene measures. The kids loved the dvd movie selection and watching on the big screen tv in our cottage (along with the free popcorn)!!! I literally cannot say enough nice things about the Andril. Clean, friendly, dog friendly and just a gorgeous spot. The kitchen and the bathroom were immaculate, the fireplace was particularly awesome cuz it had a system whereby you could easily light the fire with gas, and once going turn the gas off, and have a roaring wood fire. The patio we had was lovely. I go to Pacific Grove to meet up with my sister every March to celebrate her birthday and this was the first time we stayed at the Andril. We've tried other pretty nice places, but this was our absolute FAV. I already booked here for March of 2025! read more

Amazing accommodations. Everything was super clean which during COVID is super important. Very cozy rooms and mostly everything we needed to cook our own meals. We took advantage of the outdoor BBQ as well as the community picnic tables available to us. it is very close to Asilomar Beach which in my opinion is the nicest beach in the Monterey/Carmel area. And a nice bonus is that the property offers free breakfast items, snacks and movies. We had such an amazing time here with such considerate staff and attention to all our needs. We loved it. Highly recommended. If you can find a free moment to spend your work vacation, choose this place. Seriously, what are you waiting for? You won't regret it. read more
