This hotel may have been great at one time, but NO LONGER. The service was terrible. First day, didn't clean our room. Told us we had to ask for the maid service. Did not tell us this at check in... Second day, no maid service. First maid said she thought the other maid cleaned the room. Manager said the maid cleaned the room across the hall by mistake. Third day, maid finally cleaned the room. Forgot the shower.... Had to ask for more shampoo and soap. Needed WiFi password. It's on the folder with the key entry card. Didn't tell us that at check in. The room itself has seen better days. Furniture was worn and not up to snuff considering the price. Two stars for the location. 0 stars for staff excuses and attitude. read more

Very comfortable hotel. Nice appointments. All the drinks machines on all the floors were not operating. Don't know what's up with that. And it was a bit of a nuisance to get drinks or snacks from the downstairs Pantry area. It was locked and the front desk people had to unlock it and fetch your items. I stayed here 1/14 to 1/16, on the 6th floor. The room was great, clean, very comfortable, great views, staff was friendly and inviting, we arrived late about midnight and no issues with checking in. AC & heating worked great, and that is important to us. It is a great location for night life entertainment or just staying in. I highly recommend. read more

Quickly becoming one of my favorites in Boise, Hotel 43 offers a welcome feel, along with a luxurious vibe. From the moment I entered the clean and stylish lobby for my Friday night reprieve, I felt genuinely welcomed and immediately comfortable. After a full night of fun, when I finally made it to the King boutique suite that they'd set, I was pleasantly surprised at the attention to detail, and small, yet substantial welcome gifts that the personable guest-service team had left for my arrival. I tell you, it's all in the details, people! ..and these guys are on point.. As Justin valet'd Jamison (my ...one~of~a~kind.. 4 door which a dear friend lovingly named for me), Robin set the stage with a bright smile and professional welcome. Ryan reinforced the feeling as he made sure that there wasn't anything else that they could provide for my stay, and Amy whipped through my check-in process with grace. It's not always easy to get just what you need, in good time and without a bunch of extra hassle, but this pro trio made the process so natural and enjoyable that I felt right at home. I was up to the room in no time and primed for a great night's sleep. Plenty of pillows, shades that could block out an Armageddon, and the jazz music channel on my rooms' 50' tv made for just the right amount of unwinding comfort as I settled in after a fun night in downtown Boise. We have stayed at Hotel 43 several times and have always been pleased with our experience. The Hotel is currently under renovations and so everything is being updated and getting a new modern look. Some of the pros include underground parking for guests, a small but nice workout area, soft beds, clean rooms, great downtown location, friendly staff, and a steak house with live music some nights and Starbucks in house. Some of the draw backs are that you have to pay for parking, only the suits have bath tubs (the rest have spacious showers), and the TV's don't have an HDMI port, and No continental Breakfast, and if you want to take home one of those adorable bears in a Hotel 43 bath robe, you are going to have to pay ($30). The first time we stayed there we had a suite which included bath robes and a giant jetted tub in the middle of the room. It was awesome. The second time we stayed we got a standard room with a King and no bath tub...super sad. I have a night time bath ritual that I was unable to complete, though to fair, the showers are very nice and easily big enough for two *wink wink* Overall a good choice for a downtown hotel. read more

I really, really, REALLY want to say such good things about this place, but yes. I have experienced better. My boyfriend and I travel a lot, and we tend to stay in many different hotels, so my tastes really run across the board. The good news is, the place is adorable. It has a cool vibe to it, although they seem to be trying to be something they can never be: Swanky. Pros: The bed was AMAZING. I loved it. Super comfortable, great selection of pillows and the blanket was super inviting. ...um, cute lamps? Although way too dark for doing any actual work. Free wi-fi. Cons: Parking was 10 dollars a night (seriously??!!) The view from the 3rd floor was great, if I was interested in seeing what was on top of the restaurants rooftop. And that was about all we got to see. Room service was odd, as you can choose to have a delivery time, and even those were limited. The place was cramped. The bathroom was tiny. The vanity area was even smaller. Again, the decor was beautiful, but useless. No fridge. The robe they leave in the bathroom for you to use was rough and scratchy. The Keurig coffeemaker was great, but not enough cream or sugar or variety of flavors, so we didn't bother using it. Anyway, good location, but would most likely spend the same amount of money and find a better place to stay next time. "A" for effort. read more

This hotel is great. Stayed here for one night and enjoyed my stay. The bathrooms are upgraded and new. No tubs only stand up showers which I love. Huge TVS and comfy beds. About 6 pillows per bed which was super awesome. They provide 1 liter bottle of smart water for $4 which is super convenient and inexpensive. Mind you,Airport bottles waters are the same price but way smaller. Nice decor and chic. Would definitely stay here again. Will probably try chandlers own of these days. Also thy serve breakfast but only a few items but are good enough. read more

Hotel 43 is my favorite hotel in all of Boise. They have nice, clean rooms. Great beds, which is important to me. Nice bathrooms. Mostly though, the hotels front desk staff is the best in all of Boise!! Ashley who's now manager is great!! Katie, Taylor, Hunter are all the best front staff the hotel could ever have!! Chandlers Steak and Martini Restaurant is also an AMAZING place to go and have a 1 class meal. It's won the DiRona award for best restaurant which no other Boise restaurant can't acclaim too. Put the two together and you have an amazing weekend get away or just a great addition to your visit to Boise and Idaho!! read more

Hotel staff were quite friendly. Rooms were clean and there was a teddy-bear sitting on the bed. Was on the 4th floor so the view was nice as well. The room were quite enough but I did notice an opening under the door, which was perhaps a little larger than I expected. Also, not that big of a deal, was that the curtains were a bit dated. The bed was super comfortable but the pillows were way too soft. Overall, given the location to everything, I would stay here again. P.S. Parking is $12 a day. read more

Putting aside the comparisons to other cities the other reviewers demeaned necessary to include in their reviews and just focusing on the hotel review at hand, Hotel 43 has style, flare and personality but also lacks in a few amenities and does have some slightly 'not so great' aspects. When you cruise up to the hotel, you really don't know what to expect...but step inside and enter into the comforts of a highly-stylized atmosphere. This very modern slash late 1940's vibe, makes the guest feel comfy and welcomed. The front counter staff is extremely helpful, friendly and will be happy to answer your question about Boise. The thing I always find annoying (and yes, all city hotel's do this) is that you have to pay for parking and only $10 a day. Yes, I've paid more elsewhere, but I'm a guest at the hotel and shouldn't have to pay for parking, and that goes for all hotels everywhere. Besides that little parking soap box rant, Hotel 43 is in a great location so you can walk all around downtown and get to the highway very easily. The room I stayed in was a double queen and those beds were heavenly. The huge, numerous pillows; the big, fluffy comforter and topped with a robe wearing teddy (fyi the cute robed teddy is $30 so don't be trying to sneak it out the door). I really like that they give you an extra blanket, which is located in the closet, it's warm and handy. The room is well lit, has nice furniture, a flat screen HD TV, a super nice arm chair, and desk with chair. The wifi access is easy to log in to and has fast speeds. The bathroom is nice because the sink is separate from the toilet and shower, making it really easy for two people to get ready in the morning. Also, for your after-showering needs, they provide warm robes. The bath amenities were very nice, besides soaps, shampoo, conditioner, body butter, they also give you a sewing kit and other mini-amenity box-- cue tips, cotton ball, nail file and something I can't remember. Besides paying for parking, the few other slightly 'not so great aspects'-- I've really come accustomed to having a mini-coffee pot in my room so I can have tea or coffee. Hotel 43 doesn't provide this. Yes, you can call room service but I like having a tool to heat/brew water in my room. The other thing, in room water is $3.00 and high vending machine prices. Most hotels mark up food and beverage high, but I'm over this. So overall, Hotel 43 is a fun, relaxing, fab location, and an environmentally- and community-friendly place to spend the night. You won't be disappointed and will sleep well. read more

I've been a loyal customer to Hampton's Inn Downtown Boise for the past couple years So when they were booked and referred me to the Grove, which was also booked but referred me here to the Hotel 43, I was skeptical. It sounded like a third choice but the reviews weren't that bad. Upon arrival the girl behind the counter was highly professional. She was swamped with check ins. The lobby was completely filled. She called for more help and we were on our way. You will pay for parking here but it's pretty much standard for staying downtown. I see everyone complaining about it. If you want to be downtown, you will pay for parking. The bed is very comfortable. I woke up smelling everyone's room service from the restaurant downstairs. The price of breakfast is very reasonable too. Everyone complains in their reviews that the walls are thin and you hear everything. I only heard my neighbor in the bathroom while my fan was off. I can not rave enough about the restaurant attached to the hotel. It's hip and gorgeous and matches the hotel perfectly. They have a live jazz band every night which was amazing. My husband and I snuck down there every night. PROS *It's closer to dining than our previous place *Amazing jazz bar or steak house downstairs *Adorable bears on the bed. *cheaper rate than previous hotel CONS *The room we had (two queens) had no fridge *Smallest bathroom vanity ever *the bears on the bed creep me out. I don't know where they have been. Get rid of them *no continental breakfast but that makes up for the cheaper rate. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again. They had extra pillows for us and got us to our room extra fast. Housekeeping although friendly, could step it up a notch. I accidentally spilt wine on the bed and the next day it was still there after they spruced up the room. Another complaint, after ordering up (which we did a lot) room service was called to collect the extremely heavy tray and it wasn't collected. The smell made my daughter sick all night. Hotel 43 has me by the balls. I love having Chandlers to run to at night but the hotel needs to step up their game compared to last year. read more

Great decor, friendly helpful staff, and the rooms were very reasonably priced! The room itself was a 'standard boutique room', which had a king bed with amazingly soft sheets, down comforter (i think - it was warm and fluffy and awesome), a clean, tasteful bedspread (!) and an assortment of desk & lounge chair around the room edges. We holed up here happy and warm for the night, and didn't want to leave even for food. Anytime we're passing through the Boise area again, we're definitely staying at Hotel 43 - price vs what you get equals the best value we've run into on the road. read more

Could not have been more disappointed! We stayed here for three nights last week and it seemed like a complete let down. The website makes the property look nice and well equipped, but in reality the pictures are of the steakhouse and the "amenities" are extra or off site. Additionally, we paid for a nicer room but were told it wasn't available when we arrived- but our rate didn't change! The front desk staff was rude, short and uncaring. The nicest person was the airport shuttle driver (who was from The Grove Hotel- stay there instead!). Overall a waste of money and a disappointment. read more

I'm happy to say Hotel 43 you are my new favorite spot to stay in Boise. Helpful friendly staff Clean well appointed rooms. The bedding was comfortable and the bear on the pillow was a nice touch. Think Hard Rock plus Mandalay Bay minus Vegas and you get the idea. Free wifi Free shuttle from airport Walking distance to stores and restaurants. I was in town for a few days on business. The lobby is a little small so there was no place to sit and work, I had to do so in the room so that was a little off putting. The steakhouse attached to the hotel had pretty decent food and a rate you would expect at a solid 4 star hotel. The staff was great, very friendly and very helpful in the handful of questions I have. In relation to the city, I was in the center of where I needed and wanted to go. Boise is a great walking city and had much more to offer than what I was expecting. There is no question I would stay here again on my next visit. read more

If you want a quiet night, this may not be the place for you. The walls are paper thin allowing guests to hear the phone calls of their neighbors, (both sides of the conversation) and the discussion of house cleaning as they make their way down the hall. I'm giving this review as a business traveler, who's on the road 200+ days/ year. The good: Location. The bad: Overpriced, even for the location. Valet parking is time consuming. Thin walls. Loud AC. Linens were ill fitting to the bed, which is aggravating. No free breakfast. The gym is small. The staff tried to be friendly, but it was just always awkward... And not really helpful at all. No pool. Incorrect charges on my bill ( which were corrected, it's still annoying to have to correct them). No fridge/ micro in room. $4 bottled water, when marriott and hilton give it away for free. Again.. All kinda small details, but at the price they're charging, these should be dialed in. Overall, this is an OK place for one drunken night in downtown Boise... But if you life is spent in a hotel, this ain't the place. read more

Just got back from a wonderful stay here. Other yelpers have covered it pretty well, but for real, this place is great. You can't go wrong with free wifi, free airport shuttle, adorable rooms, free Boise Art Museum ticket, and the great location. They also have a free yoga class on Wednesday mornings at 6am-- the instructor was great! Definitely worth waking up early for it. I was told they also offer the class on Monday evenings. read more

Great accommodations for the price. This is a nice hotel with a unique boutique feel. Comparable hotels in places like Seattle would be $70+ more per night. We only stayed a single night but the room was fairly comfortable. They upgraded us to a room with an allergen filter, which was a nice perk. Unfortunately, the blue power indicator on the filter was so bright it made it difficult to fall asleep. We had to put paper over it. My only main complaints are that the bathroom is VERY small, and the shower head is "aggressive". It has many small streams but the pressure is so high it's very nearly painful to shower. The room is very overpriced its nothing special, very small for $200 a night. The elevator was very dirty, the walls in the hallway need cleaned and or painted. It's ok. I have stayed here in the past and I think they are starting to show their age a bit. Rooms feel ok, nothing great. The sheets seem a little worn to me and aren't white which is a little off-putting. Street noise woke me earlier than I would have liked. Very pleasant stay. I stayed in the Boutique Suite and was pleased with the spacious layout. The Jacuzzi tub is a highlight. Hospitality was excellent. The cleanliness of the room was not impressive. Behind the bathroom doors there was leftover hair/clothing fuzz from previous residents. The rooms are also a tad worn. And unfortunately the bedding was somewhat sloppy and I could not seem to keep the sheets tucked enough to not expose corners of the bare mattress. All in all the negatives didn't outweigh the positives and I would def stay there again. Also, the location is the best. read more

Brought the family in from the Bay Area to attend a wedding. Being that this was our first time in Boise in addition to having some trepidation about visting a city that seemed to bring out a "someone very close to you just died" reaction from my norcal compadres, we were very pleased by the accommodations and service provided by Hotel 43. I think our initial positive reaction allowed us to really sit back, relax, enjoy friends, and come away with a very positive impression of Boise in general. Hotel 43 wasn't spectacular by normal big city standards, but it provides enough pampering and comforts to make visitors from larger cities feel at ease. The staff is helpful, the rooms comfortable, and the restaurant is actually pretty amazing. We ordered room service the first night and were blown away (and my significant other is a vegetarian). The second night I got pretty blitzed with a good buddy on some exceptional martinis. Overall, you've got to love this place especially since it's not what you're expecting when visiting Boise. read more
