We drove past it twice before we realized that was indeed the location. The building is a loft layout and there is no elevator. The units are clean and spacious and the natural lighting of the main sitting rooms is very welcoming. Beds and linens are comfortable and the noise levels in the building are tolerable. The street activity is relatively quiet and for a Friday night, things got settled soon after midnight. The kitchen area is functional and contains all necessary items for food preparation

I think they do a pretty good job in contract execution, payments and accessibility for questions or information. If you encounter a problem, however, please read our experience which provides a perspective on how Southern Bells is likely to handle it. Other reviews where there were problems had similar experience stating that Southern Belle doesn't seem to care about their customers. I should have read those reviews before booking but then again I wasn't expecting to encounter any issues. My wife and I booked a condo for 4 nights on Tybee Island. April 26 through April 30 through AirBnB, which is serviced through Southern Belle Vacations, the property management company. My wife and I are in our 70's. We sought out a condo that had an elevator, few are available and although we aren't handicapped, we do have knee and hip issues which make it uncomfortable to carry suitcases, groceries, or purchases up several flights of stairs. The saga about the rental mostly begins about 10 minutes before check in. We booked and paid a couple months before our stay. Shortly after the booking they informed us the pool may not be available for our stay and pest extermination would take place within an hour and a half window while we would be staying there. We aren't hard to get along. They might have been nice to suggest a minimal discount if the pool wouldn't be ready for our stay since at time of booking the pool was supposed to be available. They didn't. The concept of one should get what one has paid for will be more relevant further on as we share our experience. About 10 Minutes before our check in we get a text telling us the elevator will not be working for our arrival. I called, they said we're sorry, we're working on getting it fixed. I asked if they could have someone take our bags up the 4 flights of stairs. They did have one of there employees still at the condo and he did take our bags up. We appreciated that. After our bags were taken up we take the stairs up to the condo and upon entering my wife notices the floor is wet. I say, they must have been mopping the floors just before our arrival and since its humid it might take some time to dry. We left and came back about 6 hours later and see the wetness on the floor is worse. I look into the utility closet next to the kitchen. The HVAC system is dripping water onto the electric hot water heater which is running down to the pan under the hot water heater, and is overflowing on to the floor. I call and get the after hours maintenance person on the second attempt. They call the owner who shuts off the HVAC system to prevent further damage and they tell us someone will be out the next day. No HVAC overnight. We leave the condo in the morning and return about 12:30 PM. We see and tell them the HVAC is still off. The condo is over 76 degrees and humid and there is no HVAC repair person in sight. The elevator and pool are still not working or available. They tell us they are working on all issues. We leave again and return about 6:30 PM. The HVAC unit is running but there is water on the hot water heater and the drain pan is full and leaking into the floor again. I call the Southern Belle after hours person again who calls the owner. The owner shuts off the HVAC system again to prevent damage and remains off for our second night. The elevator still isn't working and in fact starts acting up and making bell sounds and opening and closing every 10 to 15 seconds. The elevator services adjacent condos and my wife says when the elevator keeps opening to both condos she sees the woman next door on her couch. I go down to the garage thinking someone might be working on fixing it. No one is at the elevator but I run into the woman next door. She went down to the garage before I did and found someone to cut the elevator power. I go back up to the condo to call Southern Belle again and decide I might as well check out the rest of the condo for any other issues as well. We find some trivial issues such as a totally missing hall light, a burnt out other hall light and a missing drain plug in a bathroom sink. These are minor issues but doesn't hurt to point out having paid $1763 for the 4 night stay. What was bothersome though was the front bedroom smoke detector right near the exit to the stairs was hanging from the ceiling with no battery and obviously inoperable. I mentioned even though the missing light bulb, burnt out light, and sink plug are pretty minor, the smoke detector near the door exit seems more serious since its adjacent to the only exit way. They did come out the next day but removed the detector and didn't replace it until the following day, Tuesday. We left early Tuesday purposefully to avoid the p

Once on board with Cory Jones, we found him to be even more difficult; as our neighbors said (who'd also used SB): are they brothers? They sent over the most unprofessional maid service we've ever experienced. Instead, we decided to go out on our own to provide our customers with a beautiful environment to enjoy the Hostess City of Savannah in true style and grace. We made more money on our own, too. So, my suggestion is do not use the Savannah agencies but rather find reliable owners who rent for themselves (not run by narcissists who only care about themselves but somehow still manage to lose business for themselves in the process). Btw we are no longer running an Airbnb but it was awesome as long as we handled things because we know how to be good hosts: we are considered Super Hosts via Airbnb. Please have a great stay here w/out them. Of course, everyone has their own opinion. We just happen to prefer polite, civilized behavior to toxic behavior and this town is no exception to the rule. SDV has its own app that will give you tons of information on your property, on the city and it will make you fell confident and relaxed to stroll by Savannah streets. This house is prefect located in the heart of the historic center. We walked most of the time to our adventures in the city! We did a picnic at the park, visited museum, chased the ghosts of the town, we had a BLAST! Savannah is a charming and welcoming city to say the least about it. Although this unit…read morehas been completely remodeled inside with granite counter-tops, stainless steel appliances and beautifully tiled bathrooms, it is in a noisy neighborhood. The street is occupied by several college-aged renters that can be disruptive at night. On our first night we experienced a small party with bongo drum playing, loud singing and yelling until midnight. The night of the 20th, two doors down there was a raucous party from 11:00 PM until 6:00 AM. We experienced loud yelling, car door slamming, car alarms going off, cars coming and going, and at 1:30 AM the police arrived. There is also a new house being built across the street with loud hammering and sawing starting at 7:45 AM. Next door to this is a barking pit bull. This rental requires a non-refundable "cleaning fee" of $150. Why I don't know! We left the unit as we found it. Maybe it is for the little shampoo, conditioner, body wash and body lotion that is in the bathrooms. Although nicely remodeled, I cannot recommend this rental. The neighborhood is just too noisy and active for a relaxing vacation.

There were several positive things about this company and the condo. First, people at Stay Savannnah (SS) were very prompt in returning messages to answer my questions about the condo and get it booked. They were the fourth company I contacted about reserving a condo. The other three never returned my messages. The condo was easy to locate and very clean. It is also in an excellent location. You can walk to River St. and Bay St. easily. There were though some things that were disappointing about my experiences in the condo. First, there was no extra toilet paper. We looked high and low for it and ended up having to go buy some. Second. while SS said we would have free wirelsss, that service was password protected. This is fine, but I would have appreciated being given the passwork. I am sure I could have called them to get it but we decided to just not bother. A few other things made this experience less than great. The table on the back deck was broken and completely unusable. One of the showers needed some drain-o poured down it I think. We were always standing in a pool of water whenever we showered. One of the chairs in the master bedroom had a big tear across the bottom. Also, there were no hairdryers. This may be a minor point, but I have stayed in many condos/cabins/houses like this before and they are always there. It would have been nice to know they would not be provided. Finally, SS did not leave any directions at the condo about what to do upon checkout (other than how to return the key). We cleaned up after ourselves as best as we could. We wanted to take out the trash, but there was no obvious place to deposit it. There were also no extra trash bags which we could have used. In short, the condo was fine but for the 600.00 or so dollars we paid to stay there for three nights it seemed a bit expensive given their lack of attention to the details mentioned above.

Upon calling for information, I was treated as if I was a nuisance. I decided to carry my business else where. Charming, Spacious, Restored... and Immaculate!…read more The Simon as of 2020 has new owners, according to [new] management company Lucky Savannah... and it shows. I'm from Cincinnati and stayed there with 7 friends in October 2020. This home is huge, and you won't feel cramped, even with a large group. Four bathrooms and five bedrooms. We were glad to find the property well-stocked with sundries like an iron, vacuum cleaner, cleaning supplies (dishwasher detergent, soap, kitchen trash bags, shampoo, hair dryers, Keurig pods, etc.). There was even a charger on my bedside table to plug in my iPhone. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed: Nice appliances including a large refrigerator, quality saucepots, saute pans, all kinds of glassware, knives, and utensils. The Technivorm Moccamaster coffeemaker makes the best drip coffee I've ever tasted (there's also a Keurig if you just want a quick cup). From comparisons to older online pictures of The Simon (as I was researching VRBO properties), I can tell that the new 2020 owners have refurbished and redecorated all the bathrooms with new toilets, fixtures, shower rods, paint, artwork, etc. Everything is bright and clean and functional. The same goes for the bedrooms and downstairs; everything has been rejuvenated and updated: The living room and parlor have new furniture and have been tastefully redecorated and repainted. The new owners commissioned a portrait of the original homeowner, Simon Kehoe, which hangs in the downstairs den and is a nice connection to the home's history. The wraparound porch is spectacular, and it's nice to sit, relax, and socialize whilst sipping a beverage. The porch has been repainted and redecorated. Fans and lighting are all functional. The tacky artwork made of old dusty shutters is gone and the porch furniture looks brand new. There's a large table at the back section of the porch if you want to have an outdoor meal. The Simon's proximity to restaurants, attractions, and historical Savannah spots is perfect: We didn't have to use our car because everything was within walking distance. Parking was safe, convenient (and free), and right behind the house. We had a great time in Savannah and will definitely stay at this property again!

However, when we arrived we were let down. The house is filthy! Every prior house we have rented has been extremely clean. This house was disgusting. One thing I couldn't get over was all the flies in the house. We couldn't get rid of them. Living rooms: dust everywhere, stains all over rugs. Flies that we can get rid of! They appear every where. They didn't have a working vacuum to use to at least clean up a bit for the kids. Kitchen: the kitchen was advertised as the chef dream! It was more like a nightmare! No supplies. The pans and pots were all scratched up. Everything was dirty. Bathrooms: no water pressure and all sinks get clogged. The shower curtains are full with mold. Flies everywhere. Dining room: so small and could not fit the whole family there. We had to love the table to the spare living room. There we no cleaning supplies to at least clean up a bit. I wish I could have arrived early just to clean before allowing my daughter to crawl on these floors. We asked the house keeper to send over a working vacuum and we didn't get a response. The one in the house had so suction. Doors: front door lock did not work. Someone always had to open it. If not, we had to walk to the back door. Patio/porch: again very dusty and furniture was disgusting. The light and fan didn't work. Pros: location is amazing! Private parking is great. The size of the house was comfortable for everyone. The house could be great if they took care of it. Never coming to this house again. Awful.

Floors are sagging, paint is peeling, and much of the work that's been done to improve cosmetics looks shotty. It doesn't appear that the house gets professionally cleaned as there are dirty walls, dusty baseboards, holes in sheets, and various things on the floors upon our arrival. The wifi and TV service was hit and miss all week. Upon checking out, you are expected to strip your own beds, empty your trash cans, gather all used towels, and make temperature adjustments before leaving which I found odd because I've never been expected to perform housecleaning duties in any other hotel/house we've rented, especially after paying over 2000 dollars to stay here. The neighborhood seemed safe and quiet. The kitchen is advertised as fully stocked (remember it's advertised for 16 guests) but there really wasn't enough drinking glasses or silverware for that many guests. Overall, our family enjoyed the experience of staying in the house and there weren't any bugs, so it's a win.
