Probably not the most expensive hotel we've ever stayed at, but definitely not the cheapest. I can understand a $4 Coke at Cedar Point, but a $4 Coke in the vending machines at the hotel? Come on, now! Besides the lodging being nearly astronomically-priced, the beds are uncomfortable and forget trying to grab a quick power nap after lunch because the cleaning crew slams every door in the hallway. The pros of staying here? Early entry into Cedar point is awesome, as long as the crews aren't still 'testing' the rides when you arrive at 9AM. I was able to grab three rides in a row at Gatekeeper (probably could have nabbed 4-5 consecutively before 10AM). Having a nearby room to grab lunch, dinner, and to cool off from the activities at the park is a huge plus. The outdoor pool and hot tub are both great. Staff is friendly. The building looks amazing after the renovation. All-in-all, we had a pleasant stay, but price is the main sticking point which drives this hotel into three-point land. At around $200/night, the hotel would earn an extra star, even with the crappy beds and other quirks. I'd stay here again out of convenience and necessity. read more

I'm writing my review strictly on the hotel. We stayed for the week during the 4th of July. I loved how there were two doors leading to the bathroom, one from the entryway of the room and one from the bedroom. And the toilet and shower had their own room so a person could wash their hands or brush their teeth while someone else showered. The beds could've used a thicker blanket but the front desk had extra blankets. The front desk people were always friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. The outdoor patio was amazing. It was screened in so the bugs didn't bother you. This is something small but was so helpful but they had four hooks in the shower attached about shoulder height to hang up your wet suits to dry. The only negative...not enough to knock off a star, but there are no coffee makers in the rooms. I brought my own since we were there all week and I didn't want to pay for Starbucks everyday. I did have Starbucks once and it was delicious. They did have a microwave and a small fridge/freezer. I don't know that I see this as a negative to the hotel as they probably have their own managers but the restaurants...we tried Tomo's and TGi Fridays. Both over priced and not very good. I wouldn't eat there again even if it was free. But as far as the hotel. I would stay again. The early entry to Cedar Point was so worth it! Another thing that I liked, while most hotels don't clean rooms everyday unless requested (I don't think that's a bad thing), there were always workers around to bring clean towels or take away the dirty ones. We had a two room suite which was average at best. Your definitely paying for location and convenience not room quality or costumer service. Upon arrival we noticed a nest and family of seagulls on a ledge near by. My two young daughter's thought that was so cute. The next morning I noticed that one of the babies fell off the roof and died. It was pretty gruesome. I asked a girl at the front desk if someone could clean it up. The next day I asked another gentleman the front desk if it could be cleaned up before one of my daughter's noticed the gory mess. Of course it sat there and later that night my kids sadly noticed. I called down and asked a third person please have it removed. After my kids noticed that's all anyone saw when we looked out the window. So that kinda ruined our view. This is the most horrific hotel experience I have had in 20 plus years of traveling. I booked a premium suite at a rate of over $700 for the first night and close to $500 for the second. The lobby restrooms were worse then what you will find at halftime at a Browns game. No Restraunt's were open at 10pm and their onsite Dominos pizza would not take additional orders. Garbage was in the cupboards in the rooms. Staff was rude when responding to basic questions. The supervisor manager was beyond inconsiderate placing me on hold for 20 minutes and then hanging up. It was so bad i checked in at 9:30pm and checked out the same night at 10:30pm. Management is beyond inconsiderate, downright rude and zero concern for guests. The location is great, everything else is horrible. It was so bad i checked out and drove back home an hour in a half an hour after checking in. Incredibly disappointed, and I have never left a negative review if that tells you how bad this experience was. NEVER stay here! read more

After many years of coming to cedar point and staying at hotel breakers it manages to get worse each time. Every visit ends up with us over on the east, the first visit resulted in us hearing doors slamming for hours every morning due to us being above the loading dock. But as i'm writing this, we have just come back in from what we assume was the fire alarm. We've just been woken up at 1am from some extremely loud alarm where we then end up following everyone on our floor outside to said loading dock. After standing outside for who knows how long the alarms turn off, and people start heading back in, no fire trucks, no hotel associates to explain anything, no confirmation whether the building is actually safe. No way the maybe 20 minutes we were out there was enough time to conclude there was no actual danger. No type of emergency preparation or regulations at this place. Surely some kids pulled the fire alarm but it makes me question our actual safety as someone staying at the hotel, not to mention the absolute lack of any employees in the building, had there been an actual emergency... read more

The new and improved Hotel Breakers! We got an incredibly nice two queen bedroom that was newly furnished after most of the hotel was face lifted. The check in process, even when they are super busy, goes by quite easily. There is a shop right near the main entrance now that replaces the one that was in the center of the hotel. There is a nice bar in the center of the restaurant as well. The room was second to none when I arrived. New furniture, new beds, each room has a different theme to it picture wise, and the bathrooms are re-done (which was definitely needed and has been needed for years). It's a no brainer to try and choose this place to stay in for your trip because it's an affordable price, and you get the perk of getting into the park early. As you are checking out on Sunday, there is also a very nice breakfast restaurant located in the lobby. I would definitely recommend. read more

In fairness, it's also not priced like a luxury hotel. It does seem a little on the expensive side if you just look at the hotel itself, but being right next to the park and the early admission certainly adds value. This is our second day here, we left our keys in the room by accident so I sent my 16 year old brother down to get a new one. He came back up and told us they wouldn't give him one because he wasn't 18, so my 19 year old boyfriend went down will him to get the key and they told him that they could not give him one point blank period and that they would send someone up to let us in. I was already irritated by this because every other hotel I've been to you just tell them the room number and they program you a new key for the room. We sat in the hall for 20 minutes with my two year old waiting for someone to show up. I ended up having to call the front desk because they forgot we were up there waiting. This hotel has a great location and we've taken the family for years. Last time was 2019 - we didn't want to go while protocols were in place the past two years. They are really struggling with housekeeping post pandemic. We just completed a 5 night stay and they never cleaned or refreshed our room even with multiple requests. We actually grabbed a vacuum in the hallway and did it ourselves. We had to take our trash out everyday and we grabbed bags from the housekeeping cart when we could find it. They also don't provide towel change out so you need to ask at the front desk everyday. I hope they can get back to normal next season because we love CP but we we're definitely disappointed in this area. read more

This was a really great hotel. We stayed one night. Our room had a great view of lake Erie, it was peaceful and lovely. There is an awesome kids pool with a couple little slides and sprinklers, and best of all it was heated, which was great because it was not very warm when we visited! So imagine a family thoroughly excited for a couple of days at Cedar Point and thrilled to get to stay on property (which we do when we go to Disney for the obvious ease and early access) only to find a hotel so outdated, lacking any amenities and having some of the worst customer service I have encountered at a hotel in quite some time. So where to start.... We check in and find that the hotel room we were given is so musty and smelling of moisture that no duration of running the A/C could help it (pieces of paper were moist). The beds are probably from circa 1965, the pillows (and there were no extra pillows) were flat and from the same time as the beds, there was one top sheet and blanket (guess if there were extra blankets) and the 'duvet'/bedspread skeeves me out to sit on it fully clothed. Continuing... The bathroom was beyond small and we had a dirty toilet and sink when we checked in. Ok enough about the amazing room you say? The restaurants downstairs are passable. Some (and I mean SOME) of the staff are friendly. It is close to the park so there is that.... Now we get to the best part of this long story.... We arrived home from a long day at the park to find the door to our room was left ajar. Fortunately nothing was taken but how on earth does a professional hotel allow this to occur? I went downstairs to complain and at first was helped by a front desk worker that was more interested in flirting with the guest checking in with her colleague than helping me. After that spectacular encounter I requested the manager on duty and was given the pat: "that should never have happened, I will inform the housekeeping manager of this." I wasn't looking for compensation but the apology was so hollow it is still echoing. Please if you want a musty hotel room that is dirty and smells with a staff that has no regard for your personal belongings choose Hotel Breakers. read more

Outside its a beautiful hotel, inside you can tell it could use some TLC. It's an amusement park hotel, so it gets a lot of use from families with lots of children and it shows. We stayed one night, the water was hot, the room was clean and the walls were thick enough we didn't hear the family with eight kids in the room next to ours. Best of all you get to enter the park early in the morning. It's not a Disney resort by any means, but it was an affordable choice and were glad we stayed there, though next time we will probably stay at Castaway Bay. read more

I love how the website says "Turn of the Century Charm". Uh, wasn't the turn of the century just a few years ago? That aside, this is the oldest hotel on the property, dating back a hundred years. I have to admit, it does have a certain charm about it. Right on the Lake Erie shore, this place does have some fantastic views. My husband, my brother and his wife, and my cousin and her husband headed up to Cedar Point this past weekend. Our goal was to escape the madness in Pittsburgh that was the G20 Summit. My brother Paul booked us all into the Hotel Breakers and we got a pretty good rate on three standard rooms. We were on the Halloweekend Package, which is good from mid-September to Halloween. It included two nights, early admission to the park (which I promptly used to get on the Magnum XL--Susan ALWAYS gets her way when riding the coasters!), and parking. Not a bad deal! The Hotel Breakers has typical hotel amenities including an indoor pool (nice for relaxing in after a day at the park), cocktail lounge, and full concierge service. They also have TGIFriday's and Tomo Hibachi Restaurant, where we ate on Saturday Night. The rooms themselves are what you probably find at a decent Hilton or Hyatt. The great thing about the Hotel Breakers is that it's the closest hotel to the park-- just a two-minute walk away. That's handy if you're like me and you absolutely have to be the first to get on your favorite ride. read more

Don't come in with crazy high expectations for a luxury hotel experience and you'll be ok. The main features are the easy access to Cedar Point, the beach and (for us) a decent kiddie pool. The restaurants we used (TGI Friday, Perkins and Domino's delivery) were fine. Our room was good enough--we had a corner suite room with a screened in veranda. The kids really liked having their own convertible single beds that were separate from mommy and daddy at the end of the day. Our room was located on the north side of the hotel and had views of both the beach and lake as well as the park, which was pretty cool. The free hotel open wifi is notably strong and fast. We were able to stream HBO GO on my laptop with no issues. All the hotel employees we encountered were very friendly and helpful. While we won't be coming back to Cedar Point for this hotel, we will stay here again next time we do come back. read more

I just got back from a family weekend at Cedar Point and we had three families stay here. We all talked about our experience and agree. From the moment we booked at more than $300 per night for a weekend, my expectations were pretty high. I've stayed at the Yacht Club on property at DisneyWorld and took my kids on a Disney cruise recently, and the room rate for this hotel room indicated to me a certain level of service and amenity. From the moment I walked in to the Breakers, I was treated to the beginning of a highly disappointing experience. Over the course of my three days, I found the entire staff to be far less than delightful and cheerful that you'd expect at a beachside resort hotel. In fact, they did barely more than the minimum for their jobs and were largely uniformed when it came to answering questions. Everything needed to be looked up to be confirmed. So many times I thought it would be so easy to change (or implement) the training to make this a better experience for all the guests. I rarely saw employees walking around and had to hunt when I needed something. The decor and facility is in dire need of a makeover. It's historic and nostalgic and I'm all for its preservation, but the bedrooms desperately needed new everything - decorations, linens, bathrooms, and tvs. Our TV was the old tube-style and my 8 & 10yo kids groaned when they saw that. We never turned it on. There was no wifi anywhere. I heard it was available in the lobby, but never found it to work. I didn't need it often, but you know it's nice to have. The only reason to stay here is for the close access to Cedar Point and Soak City. You can walk right in and that's great. You also benefit from the early entrance to C.P. Walking home late Saturday night with my tired kids was great since we were so close. That almost made up for all the other deficiencies. Almost. read more

We had a very good time during our stay at Hotel Breakers. We were a quick walk from the park, and the hotel was lovely, with a staff that jumped into action anytime we had a concern. Our suite was enormous, with a cavernous bathroom and a very comfy bed. We liked being right upstairs from the restaurants, and really, REALLY enjoyed the fireside areas outside and their adjacency to the bar. Long walks with a drink on the beach at night are really terrific, and that's a kind of fun you can't have at Disney. Downsides- * The bathroom wasn't equipped with a fan. Or, it was, but it was largely ineffective. * Whoever picked much of the decorating (bedspreads, carpets, lobby furniture, etc) really doesn't have much of an eye. * The beach outside is very nice, but littered with fish skeletons. I realize this isn't the staff's fault, but some attention to aquatic corpse cleanup would have been appreciated. read more

When booking online... Be sure to read the description on the room that you get. It is very specific... so if it says its in the older part, with no view.. that is EXACTLY what you get... however it doesn't tell you ( that I could see) .. that there are no elevators in that part.. so if you can't do stairs, you may need to fork out a bunch more money to get an elevator in another, newer, part of the hotel. Walking around the hotel isn't too bad, several pools, places to eat, great views of the lake etc. But in dealing with the basics of security and older hotel rooms, I think the experience was way subpar. You get a key ( that doesn't have the words "DO NOT DUPLICATE" on it) that is attached to a giant key chain with your room number in big bold black letters. Big fail in a place that has strangers from all over the world roaming around that can dissappear in a heart beat.. and with all your stuff that they took because they made a copy of the room key when they stayed there 20 years ago... On top of that, if you are like most people, you go to Cedar Point... and it is not fun to have that bulky key and attachement digging into your thigh as its in your pocket, when you are on rides. And whatever you do.. don't let that key fall out,because any person can easily get into your room- that is broadcasted on the key chain. Yikes. The room was creepy. Like 13 inch tube TV that still showed the multi-colored-lined on the screen if you found the right.. or wrong.. station. Like, old creepy painted over too many times doors, and bed covers that matched the curtains... At the end of a long day you want to come back and relax and sleep. None of that was comfortable here. The bed was uncomfortable and the overall vibe was a bit negative for me. The first night I couldn't fall asleep until 2 or 3AM i was up wondering what would happen next. The next day I hit up Cedar Point from 9AM until I couldn't walk anymore... so that I knew I could fall asleep out of bare necessity. And, if you are paying $150 a night and on up for a room, there should be some basic accomodations like a $7 hair dryer or $7 iron.. I am sure they can afford it. Cedar Point advertises these as their "Resorts"... not motels on the lake... Was going to give 1 star, but location and nice staff bumped it up to 2 read more

I have never written a review, but the way I was treated at Hotel Breakers has forced me to do so. The problems with inept and dishonest employees started before we even got there, but I am going to start with the end because that was the worst. We packed a single suitcase for this trip that I shared with my husband and two young children. The suitcase was unpacked into the drawers when we arrived. On the last day, we were in a bit of a rush and I forgot to pack one of the drawers. Items in this drawer were extremely important to me and the loss of them would be devastating. When we arrived home in Northern Virginia, I realized my mistake and immediately contacted Hotel Breakers. I explained the situation and was told that the housekeeper found nothing in the drawer. This is either a lie or the housekeeper did not look! It was suggested that I enter the items in lost and found, which I did. I called back each day to check, because these items were not lost. I knew where they were and just needed someone to grab them. The Hotel Breakers representatives I spoke with continued to be unconcerned and I recently received a notification that my lost and found case had been closed without finding the items. This is impossible. Either the items are still in the drawer or they have been stolen. This was the worst of it, but we had problems with Hotel Breakers earlier. We originally booked our trip Sunday to Tuesday. After learning we could arrive on Saturday instead, my husband called and asked to include the Saturday in our reservation. Instead of extending our reservation, the person on the phone stated he had to make a new reservation for Saturday. My husband was concerned that we would not be able to stay in the same room or would be forced to leave one day between checkout and checkin time. He was assured that this would not be the case and that all we needed to do was have the front desk merge our reservations when we arrived. We arrived and explained it to the person at the front desk. She stated she could not do this, but not to worry, if we just checked in again the next morning we could stay in the same room and would not be forced to leave. This seemed like an unnecessary inconvenience, but we were willing to comply. My husband arrived at the front desk the next morning and was told we needed to vacate the room and check back in at 4pm. After my husband went through two levels of managers, eventually we were allowed to stay in our room. The bottom line, our experience was that the staff at Hotel Breakers displayed a consistent pattern of passing you off to the next person without resolving the problem. They either were inept or dishonest in order to do so. I highly recommend you find another choice for a hotel. read more

The hotel location couldn't be better, sandwiched between the beautiful Lake Erie beach and the Cedar Point amusement park, but that's about all it had going for it. From what appeared to be a beautiful early 20th century lakefront escape was actually a slight run-down holding pen for amusement park tourists. Sure our room had a great view of the pool and the beach, but with drop panel ceilings, stained carpeting, drab decorating, a tiny bathroom, no closets, and an early 90's Zenith tube TV we were glad we only had the place for one night. Come bed time, we pull back the covers and find a dead fly and a long hair the didn't belong to us in the sheets. Gross. We complained the the front desk the the GM Matt, who was awesome about the whole thing. He had the bed turned over right away and comped our breakfast in the morning. So not all was a loss. For this place, its all about location. So it will work great for you if you are staying the weekend and spending most of your time outside the hotel. Don't make a week of it. Another plus, if you stay with the hotel parking is free and you can leave your car in the hotel lot when you go into the park. read more

Wow. I cannot believe anyone could have a positive experience at this place. I brought a group of around 200 people and upon arrival our food that we ordered through hotel was not ready or even on site. After an hour of waiting we were finally given a secondary option in the amusement park. Going back to the motel, I refuse to call it a hotel, 2 hours behind schedule, we were surprised to find that there was no central air conditioning or an elevator to bring us up three flights of stairs and probably 80% of our room key cards did not work. The front desk then sent a Maintenance man up to let us in which took another hour or so. Now finally we are getting into our rooms around 11:30pm, I just set my bag down and there is a knock on my door. The geniuses at the front desk had the audacity to send up two goon security officers to respond to a noise complaint. Try as I may to explain how a hundred people locked outside there room might be loud, all they wanted was my identification. After the debacle with the security my group proceeded to kill cockroaches, find condom wrappers and cleaning supplies on their beds, stains and hair all over the shower, wet damp carpet, mold and dust everywhere, and used ripped toilet paper. Too tired to take the issue to the front desk that night I waited until the morning, and scheduled an appointment to talk to management at 1 the next day. I showed up at 1, let the front desk know I was there, was ignored for about an hour, but finally got to talk to a hotel manager. She pleasantly informed me that it was not her fault, blamed several people that I couldn't talk to, and did nothing for my group. I wouldn't go back to that motel if it was free. We just finished our weekend stay at Hotel Breakers and we absolutely loved it! The newly renovated hotel is fantastic lookin. . I like how everything is walking distance and convenient . All the staff was beyond nice , and our room service was fabulous too (not usually something I comment on , but with our 2 kiddos it was needed ). We rented a suite and loved it . Everything is new and clean ! My favorite part of the hotel is the beach . They have a generous shoreline and I can't imagine them ever running out of space . 5 stars for sure !! Hotel needs updating very badly. Rooms and lobby are very old fashion. You will be surprised what a flat screen tv and newer looking bed sheets will do to a rooms appearance. Management needs to get place cleaned up a little better, there are spider webs and hornets nest all over the walls outside. Gutters have plants and weeds growing out of them. As soon as you see hotel from the outside you see all this. Place defiantly needs some TLC. Very convenient when you are going to the amusement park, entrance was a hop skip and a jump from our room. This hotel was a joke. First of all, for the price I would've expected A LOT more. Folks say you're paying for the location but frankly, I'd rather pay LESS for a hotel down the road. Early access to the park means jack crap: We got to ride ONE ride in the 'early access' time. As we walked up to our room, the hallway reminded me of an old psychiatric hospital ward. It had an unsettling, gross feeling to it. Upon entering our actual room it didn't get much better. The Tv, furniture, carpet, ceiling, and comforter were all VERY old, VERY worn and VERY outdated. Each and every visit to Cedar Point we stay at Hotel Breakers and love it. Our very first visit was before the renovations even began and we enjoyed our stay. After the renovations, our stays were even better. The rooms are beautiful! The staff is friendly and helpful. There are several restaurants in the hotel and others that deliver. My favorite thing is there is a Starbucks located in the hotel. Indoor and outdoor pools, bars, rooms with a view of the lake, fire pits outside, and much more. You are right next to the entrance to the park so you can just come and go as you please. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay on site. This hotel is a bit pricey compared to others, but considering what you get it is worth it! read more

Part II (Continued from my CP review): Revenge of the Breakers We arrived at Hotel Breakers around 3pm, and upon walking in, I was hit by hot and humid. The lobby area is not air conditioned. It is also showing that it is 100+ years. I don't think it's been updated in that time. Upon checking in, I was told that the room was given away and that I'd have to wait but they would send me a text when it was ready. I waited in the lobby...15 minutes...30 minutes...45 minutes...1 hour--by this time it was 4 pm which is check-in time, so I got in line to inquire about our room again. The same woman helped me again and told me that the texting stopped at 4 so I never would receive the text. I would have never gotten a room if I waited for what they told me to wait for. Are you kidding me? Terrible. When we got in the room, it felt like the late '90s. Our lovely 20" Zenith TV topped it all off. The beds were different shades of brown which also was worrisome. We found a gummy Coke bottle under one of the beds, too. Gross. A straw wrapper could be spotted next to the nightstand. Then we heard someone trying to get in our room. Uh-oh. Turns out it was a coworker of my dad's and they had a sarcastic conversation about starting a big fight...the housekeeper was ready to break it up. Lol. They gave someone else our room number too. I have never experienced that--terrible. The pools looked decent outside but we didn't use them. The beach was actually pretty nice, and the proximity to CP was even better. I have complained to CP and we will see if they respond to my email. I'd stay away from Breakers and stay somewhere else. read more

Sigh. We wanted to like this place! We are not high maintenance people. We splurged on a large suite tower room. Upon arriving, we couldn't figure out where to park due to the crowds, and no one was welcoming guests or helping to direct us to a parking spot. We finally illegally parked and kept one of us in the car while the other person tried to enter the lobby to check in. Our room, though it was 4 pm, was not ready. They had us sit dejectedly in the warm lobby with the other dozens of disappointed travelers. Our room was finally available at 6 pm, so we wheeled our luggage on the faded carpet hallway to a mass line waiting to use the only elevators that went to our floor. Finally, we got to our room and the first nice experience happened--the room was huge and it had amazing views of the beach and park. The negatives? It smelled like mildew and old sewer pipes, the maid had dropped a dirty Kleenex in the middle of our entry and the beds were horrible. Our beautiful screened in porch had the screens all around it PLASTERED in bugs. It was nasty. None of us wanted to go enjoy the porch, which was good since the staff never cleaned up all the 4th of July trash left on the patio by the last guests. The whole room looked run down and the basic facelift items they had tried to throw at it did not cover up the sadness of the room. It was like lipstick on a pig. Why would a gigantic suite with a kitchen and dining area only have a mini fridge? Why would the only mirror in the entire suite be a round, face mirror in the bathroom? Hotel Breakers, please consider a full length mirror on any of the blank walls all throughout the suite. Throughout our stay, we had the hotel run out of fast passes, the Starbucks line for coffee wrapped down the hall and around the corner (didn't even attempt that), and the room continued to smell like old sewer pipes. Sometimes you make a bad hotel decision, but this place is one of the few choices and continues to be packed because of it. Just set really low expectations... we were actually excited to leave and drive to the airport, which is not a good sign. read more

Clean hotel with airy design. Staff is smile-friendly but not able to answer questions like, "Where is the park entrance for hotel guests?" and "Where are the vending machines?". Beautiful pool area and beach front. The property itself is five stars. The running of the property is another matter, two stars. But if you are traveling from far away for Cedar Point Amusement park you are locked in with no options. They take advantage of that. The restaurants in the hotel open and close seemingly at their own whims, not good when your only other options are the park (which does the same thing) or going all the way back to DT Sandusky. Pay no attention to hours and days listed in Yelp, they mean nothing. These details should be clearly expressed when you book. For the restaurants themselves, major disappointment. Starbucks doesn't get the orders right (fyi there is no coffee machine in the room). The food at each place just hits mediocre for an average price. For the prices they charge it's terrible. You can eat it without it being the end of the world but it's not what you would pick if there were any other options. We drove into town twice looking for better food. One evening the hall of our entire wing reeked of marijuana from early afternoon through the entire rest of the day. They have enough staff walking around that someone should have noticed and taken care of the matter before patrons notice. When we brought it up at the desk we got the shrug with "it happens". Once you give them your money you are locked in and customer service drops off. We wouldn't go back, as much as we love amusement parks. There are better options closer to us. read more

My family decided to stay over night this past weekend. August 22-23rd. My wife reserved a room online a month prior to us coming up. My wife and I came at separate times. My daughter and I arrived 2 hours earlier than my wife, 4:00pm check in time. When I went to check in they wouldn't allow me to, because my wife was the one that signed up online. I offered to FaceTime my wife and have her show her Drivers License and her Credit card info. The front desk staff said no.... that was this first experience we had with the Hotel. Second was the service... once my wife came to get us finally checked in to the hotel... I went to get a drink at the Sands Lounge for the both of us. There was 2 people in front of me and took about 15 minutes to finally place my drink order... she blurted out, " Look at the menu before you place your order!" Not very friendly if you ask me... another instance was the Starbucks employees complains about their work... obviously loud enough for everyone to hear. These 2 instances were not friendly and very uninviting. Staff checking occupancy at the pools was about 50/50. Some were nice and some were just there to collect a paycheck.... very upsetting to us. The room we stayed in wasn't anything extravagant, obviously you are paying for the experience of going to Cedar Point, but our experience wasn't the greatest, and we don't plan on coming back. read more

I don't know what this place looked like before remodeling but I love it. It's absolutely charming and I enjoy that it has so many amenities. There are two pools and it's right on the beach. There's a Fridays, a hibachi restaurant, an arcade and even another restaurant connected to it. The rooms are clean, the TVs are nice and staff are very polite. They make you feel at home. read more

Decent hotel though probably not worth the money paid for amenities, only convenience. Room was 2 queen beds and a VERY small bathroom. No outlets in the bathroom. Refrigerator and microwave but no coffee maker? Also no guide in the room for hotel amenities or surrounding area. Thank God for Google. My stepson cut his knee in the pool. I called the front desk and asked if they could bring a couple of band aids down and the reason. You'd think with an injury on their property they would be all over it. Nope. Instead I am asked if I can come to the front desk. Seriously? And maybe have him trail blood along the way? I asked to speak to a manager and magically they were able to deliver. I guess that's what you get when most of your seasonal staff are high school kids. Bed was FIRM. I know this is a preferential comment but it actually hurt my hip to lay on it. Lots of mainstream restaurants located on premises so that is a plus. read more

I have only stayed here one time and that was this year end of June after the remodeling. I read the reviews before i came which made me nervous because before the remodel, this place sounded like a horror film from bed bugs to mold. Now it is totally different, the art work and decor made for a cozy environment. Everything was brand spanking new and I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and attentive. I loved the new fire pits outside they were a beautiful touch to the property. My only pet peeve was the insects outside. I know cedar point has no control over this but they were horrible. I never encountered so many large horseflies or mayflies at least thats what I believed they were. I couldn't enjoy the beach area and fire pits as much as I wanted. Overall i would stay here again as along as the renovations are kept up. I did enjoy the deep discounted tickets, especially for half day tickets. read more

Book this hotel today if you are planning a trip to Cedar Point! The newly remodeled rooms are simply amazing! If you are looking for a Disney like resort this is it. Very nicely appointed rooms, bath and body works toiletries and lots of big white fluffy towels! Splurge on a lake view room with a living area and kitchenette--you won't be disappointed! You will love the oversized Starbucks in the lobby, as well as the lobby bar and tgi Friday's. Being located basically in the park is priceless. You can run to your room for anything and be back in the park in a minute! Highly recommend! read more

Choose this hotel to stay at during our recent weekend trip to Cedar Point because as a season pass holder I got a pay one night get the other night free deal. The room was ok. We had a queen size bed with plenty of room and a lamp on each side. check-in took a long time because they are only open 4 pm Friday thru noon Sunday. Also the staff had to give long explanations about a lot of things instead of having things printed out. They have a store which is mainly souvenirs but also some common item like Tylenol and razors and snacks for guest convenience. They also have onsite restuarants, bars and starbucks for guest convenience BUT THEY ARE ALL OVERPRICED. For 2 adults we paid $70 for dinner at TGI Fridays, $40 for breakfast at the Perkins restaurant and drinks at the bar were $20 for a draft beer and mixed drink. The have a Dominos pizza close by which can deliver to your room, over $40 for a large 5 topping pizza and a stuffed cheezy bread, not counting a tip. You have to ask for anything you need like a glass for the bathroom although they had plenty of clean towels in the room and a fresh roll of toilet tissue but no holder. The beach was nice for a romantic walk with my fiance'. Here are my suggestions if you decide to stay there. If there is any item or service you want ask, they do not volunteer information. Go into Sandusky for meals, the restaurants in town are not overpriced or ask the front desk if services like doordash are allowed to deliver in the hotel. There is a Kroger store on Perkins rd, not too far away. You can find it using your phone's google maps. There is a mircowave and minifridge in the room. They charge $4.50 for a 20 ounce bottle of pop/soda so bringing your own drinks and snacks is a good idea. read more

We always stay here as a family and it's very convenient for the park, having early access and just being close to multiple gates in general! We stayed on the first floor which was really convenient (especially since someone set off the fire alarm at 1 AM during our stay). The workers seem to be in slow motion and inconsiderate of the hotel guests. The beach access is nice, but the band here is TERRIBLE and makes you want to leave the beach as soon as they come on. There's also no night life going on right now, which should be happening in my opinion so there's something to do once the sun goes down. read more

The last time we were here was in 2016 and we had a wonderful experience. Sadly, this experience was not as positive. Some of this could be COVID related. The rooms are only cleaned every third day. We had to twice request to have the bathroom cleaned and take out the garbage before it was honored. I think they are understaffed due to COVID and are very busy to the point of being overwhelmed. That being said, although it was not as good as last time, generally the staff is trying hard. The glaring issue was the gentleman Randy, that works at the ice cream parlor, who seems unhinged. He was being confrontational with guest and he started using foul language and cursing, all of this was in front of children. It was a running joke amongst the guests. He would be muttering curses to himself under his breath as he scooped the ice cream. I can't believe they let someone like that work with the public. Give him another role where he does not have to deal with people. He has no customer service skills whatsoever. I hope these issues are addressed, because we have had some great experiences at Cedar Point and Hotel Breakers in the past. read more
