I drunkenly informed one of the staff members that I would give Hotel Du Village an uplifting and optimistic review and somehow remember saying this (meaning, the bartender sadly did not fulfill his job requirements - please see below - lol). As a guest, I enjoyed my time here. Can't speak to the actual planning that went into it. Recently attended a wedding here. The grounds are beautiful and the space is nice and cozy for a more intimate gathering. Just wanted to give MAJOR props to the bartenders working that night--Rick and Jerry. Wedding venue is very nice and well run. HOWEVER ......... if you are looking for any type of Customer Service/Management help..... good luck ! Can't contact directly even when on property. You are on your own once there. Sad that they leave a posting of numbers to call if anything needed. Only problem is that no one picks up the phone. Was in Room#8 which leaves alot to be desired.... view of green pool water out the window, no closet, window in bathroom that is front of room on sidewalk level (shade...but...), frosted window from bedroom into shower, and no door on this area. Went to a wedding, and felt like cattle being herded! It started with the parking valet telling me I could not walk over to hand my daughter something in the parking lot! Food wasn't great.Bathroom down narrow treacherous wet stairs where you need to dodge wait staff. There was not even space to put down your purse to refresh your makeup! Cake was cut before we were served dinner (last table served) and we were rushed out of our seats and that room while the forks were still in our mouths. Was here for a wedding so I can't comment on staying here. The grounds are really beautiful, and they took good care of us. The thing especially nice is that it is an indoor outdoor venue. There are windows that open in the main dining area for windows, and they also have tables outside. So if you are COVID conscious, you can definitely pop outside to eat or drink and have a great time here. And the nearby town of New Hope is very cute. read more

We had our wedding at Hotel du Village on March 16th, 2025 and cannot share enough good things about this venue. From start to finish, the HDV team truly made planning our wedding a seamless & stress-free process. You can always tell when the team that works at a venue genuinely enjoys what they do - every single person who was working there the night of our wedding genuinely cared that my husband & I enjoyed each moment and had everything we could possibly need to make the day go smoothly. The venue itself is absolutely breathtaking and our guests would not stop gushing about it's charm. We're so happy they saw the same beauty in it that we did! The Chateau style reception was perfect for our guests, blocking dinner at the beginning of the reception & letting guests have free reign of the venue for the last two hours of the night for dessert & dancing. Our guests used the fire pit areas for roasting s'mores & smoking cigars all night! The food at our cocktail hour and dinner received rave reviews - specifically the lobster rolls & Marseille stations! The passed hors d'oeuvres were also absolutely fantastic. We loved the Mac & cheese, spring rolls, and lamb chops (to name a few). We also just wanted to call out a few MVPs on the HDV team: Alyssa, our event coordinator, was an incredible resource & always found a way to accommodate our requests. As an interior designer by trade, I was very picky with where florals, accessories and furniture were placed, but she ALWAYS found a way to make it work & never once made me feel like my requests were crazy, even if they were! Irene, our morning bridal attendant, was amazing and took great care of my husband & I the morning of the wedding. She was a vital part in the setup of the venue the morning of the wedding and our vision wouldn't have come to life with our her guidance. Larry, the hotel manager, is the most kind & patient man we've ever met. He made sure all guests staying on the property were comfortable and had everything they needed at the hotel & cottage. He was also involved in so many other aspects of the day, including set up at the venue the morning of our wedding. You can tell he's a vital part of the team at HDV and we couldn't imagine the day going as smoothly as it had if he wasn't there! Agnes, the afternoon/evening bridal attendant, was truly a super-hero. She seemed to be everywhere at once, had anything you could possibly need in her tool belt, and made sure you never had to ask for a single thing - she already had it taken care of! I never had to pick up my own dress train/veil as we moved around the property to take photos, or go to the bar for my own drinks. She had it taken care of before we could even think to make the request! Our wedding day was incredible because of these people & the others on staff at Hotel du Village. I stayed here recently for a wedding. The event spaces are beautiful and the staff were all very professional and helpful. It was a lovely wedding. But the water broke and went off in the entire main hotel building including all guest rooms on Sunday morning. Like, all of the water - you couldn't flush a toilet or wash your hands or take a shower after a night of partying. For hours. When we left at 10am the water had kind of somewhat returned, but the pressure was low, it was discolored, and it didn't seem clear whether even that would last. From reading other reviews it is clear this is a chronic long-term issue and regularly happens. I just want to say that an entirely reliable water supply is an essential precondition to operate a hotel. There's really no way you can have a good experience at a hotel without water. The hotel staff acted like this was a minor inconvenience - like running out of cereal at breakfast or something - which was bewildering but perhaps a coping mechanism. Hotel Du Village, I really hope you will consider shutting everything down and making whatever serious repairs or upgrades are needed so that you can have an entirely reliable and 100% functional water system. Lastly just noting that the physical layout of the rooms was poor and made the lack of water especially brutal. There's no door between the shower & sink area and the bedroom, and the area with the toilet had no fan and a slatted door. Sounds and smells travel freely between the toilet area and the bed area. All the more reason you really, really need to have confidence when you flush your toilet. read more

Aug 2020 wedding. The price was one of the highest in the area and expected that level of service. Tasting and tour was amazing. Day or event seemed to go well, however behind the scenes items we brought were never set up and I had to do some myself an hour before the wedding that were suppose to be set up by the venue. This neglect on their end was probably due to the fact that our wedding coordinator was giving a tour of the venue to prospective clients. We had over $3K in gifts stolen and have yet to receive a response back from the venue on how they will compensate us. They placed our gifts in a location that we assumed would be safe, it was their responsibility to ensure so. We had several members try to collect our gifts and card box on our behalf, (the mother of the bride, the sister of the bride, and a close friend), all were explicitly turned done. Saying that a "plan" was discussed beforehand to deliver the gifts to the bride and groom. No plan was ever discussed. When the card box was dropped off to our hotel room after the send-off the lid was broken, but we thought nothing of it. Once we discovered several missing items the next day, we had to contact every guest and ask them if they gave us a gift. This was highly uncomfortable, not to mention inconvenient before catching our flight for our honeymoon. They have now had adequate time to resolve, they will be hearing from our lawyers about this shortly and now we will add on additional damages for emotional distress for all this distress we had to go through contacting guests and the police (since the venue didn't take ownership for it) on our honeymoon. This is all we were thinking about the entire honeymoon. Day of the event (in August), there was no A/C working in the bridal suite (read this in other reviews and also notified them the day before and nothing was done) and my wife and her bridal party were dripping in sweat all day doing in the suite trying to do make up (horrible experience for them). In other reviews, guests said the hot water didn't work in the hotel and that was the same with us for some guests and in the house we rented for the weekend. Overall, up front it looks great, but not worth the money. It appears from previous reviews nothing was done on the maintenance of the facility from issues people experienced from years ago. We were however the first wedding since March 2020, so taking that and COVID into consideration, they did work with us, but we're trying to make us pay for an outdoor tent and dance floor on top of the venue we couldn't use was unacceptable. Instead of putting the tent on the nice lawn, we had it on asphalt and had to insist on a dance floor. We ordered a rug to approve the aesthetics under the sweetheart table, we brought it the day of and it simply vanished. This is the one day that details should not have to be worried about, but the venue did a poor job in follow through in this department. Promises and expectations were simply not met. I typically don't write reviews but would be remiss not to for something as monumental as a wedding. I regret that I hosted my wedding ceremony & reception at Hotel du Village. Their grounds and facilities are beautiful. They give wonderful tours and hosted a lovely tasting prior to our wedding. Everything else was an insult, deprived of any shred of customer service. Communication with the event coordinator, Allison was non-existent. She took three days to respond to any given e-mail. Anytime I asked more than one question, she'd only respond to one and never follow up with the rest. If she didn't know the answer, she'd guess or say she would follow-up with an answer, and never did. She failed to share important details, like I needed to find the contact information and reach out to the company they offer a 'free' 'custom' wedding cake through. Speaking of the 'free' 'custom' cake, the bakery has a deal with Landmark Venues and is located 1 hr 45 mins from HDV. If you live anywhere south of the venue, it's totally inconvenient to coordinate with them. (They have no appts past 5pm, nothing Sunday or past 12pm Saturday). The bakery is just a cake factory. We found out during our cake tasting they pump out 200 wedding cakes a week. I've had better sheet cake from ShopRite. No one at HDV answers their phone. If you or your guests want to reserve a room at their 'private hotel', you have to call, and no one picks up. Three couples booked elsewhere rather than waiting for a returned phone call. No, you can't book online like any hotel in the 21st century. HDV is advertised as a private hotel. Except, when my wedding was the only one that day, the venue allowed the wedding for the following day to book there. And they opened the entire venue to the public for a Valentine's Day dinner. AND those guests were invited to book a hotel room. Anything to make a buck. I covered the cost of my flower girl's room. Twenty minutes before my ceremony is set to begin, I get a call that the person at check in has told my flower girl's mother there is no room for her! The same one I paid for. I ran to the hotel to mediate, just to find out that she hadn't reviewed the full list of names of reservations. Evidently 22 rooms was too much for her. The front desk was advised by a guest that there was no hot water. She said to keep running the water for 20 minutes to get it hot. Believe it or not, that was not an actual remedy. Unfortunately for myself and all the guests, they failed to mention there was no hot water. At 1am after my wedding, I had the pleasure of throwing ice cold water on my body. So much for reserving the bridal suite for $350. My flower girl was scheduled to get her meal at 530pm for my 6pm ceremony. After 6pm Allison said it'd be up shortly. We selected the halibut and short ribs for our 2 entrées. When I was socializing with guests, I saw that three people at one table who ordered the halibut were inexplicably served chicken. My fiancé was told he'd be served a cheeseboard and moscato in the groom's suite before the ceremony. Instead they left four beers on ice despite being expressly told he didn't drink beer multiple times. There was supposed to be a receiving line following the ceremony but they opened the wrong set of doors and ushered guests into cocktail hour. We had the venue 6pm-12pm. They closed off the ballroom where our ceremony and reception were held early, to break it down, so the remainder of our guests were socializing in the adjacent room where cocktail hour was. At 11:40pm a bartender yells, 'Time to clear out folks!' Excuse me? Is this a dive bar?? I'm clearly the bride; did you want to rephrase that as, 'We'll be closing shortly, can I get anyone a drink?' I was truly the most no frills bride. We had no wedding party, 90 guests, and signed a contract in December for a February wedding. I can't image what would have transpired had the event required anything additional from the staff. It surely would have ended in disaster. In fact, guests commented it seemed the venue had never hosted a wedding. It's not a singular straw that broke the camel's back, but more a culmination of an underperformance by every member of the staff that led to this review. I can overlook a lot, but for prices starting at $20k, deserved a hell of a lot more. *FWIW, HDV has previewed this review. I was told by the area coordinator (who wasn't on site that day) that there was hot water for my stay and I was 'confused' about what was meant by a 'private' hotel. He also had the audacity to fault my guests that their venue didn't facilitate a receiving line, when that's the function of their maître d' (whose fee was included in our bill). Again, in full confidence, I advise any bride to book elsewhere, for your own peace of mind and the benefit of your guests. You'll only marry once and no one here is looking out for your best interests. read more

The property here is beautiful, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here. The staff is unnecessarily rude, especially Susan. We are from out of town and asked for an extended checkout. Instead of a "no, sorry for the inconvenience," she yelled at us and said "Absolutely NOT." Also the rooms don't have a door between the bathrooms and the bedroom. It's all one single unit which means your floors WILL get sticky and gross when you shower. For some of the rooms, the windows all face the walkways so you'll be saying hi to people walking by if you're in your room with the blinds lifted up. In summary, not worth the stay in their hotel. read more

We had a wedding ceremony & reception at the Hotel Du Village in March. We couldn't be happier or even more impressed with the level of professionalism and care that was displayed and provided for throughout the day of our wedding event. Mary Ellen was exceptional in helping to plan out and execute every detail of the day. Her calm and loving demeanor was so welcoming and appreciated. Clovis and Agnes were a delight and provided the extra care needed to ensure that every part of the day went without a hitch, and they took extra measures to meet all of our needs. So many of our guests expressed how much they loved being at the event and took notice of how wonderfully attentive and kind Mary Ellen, Clovis and Agnes were towards them. The food was excellent, and the venue looked beautiful, both inside and out. We couldn't be more delighted to have our daughter's wedding celebration at the Hotel du Village! read more

We attended a wedding at Hotel Du Village and it was fabulous! The staff was very attentive to the bridal party needs. The groom's room and bridal suite were a big plus. The grounds were lovely to take pictures and ALL of the food was fantastic. The filet mignon was delicious and the waffles & ice cream dessert were great. The peppermint stick spoons for the hot chocolate was a nice touch. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Du Village for a very special event! read more

I had my wedding reception at Hotel Du Village this past Sunday and I can't say enough great things about the staff, venue and overall experience. Gabe and Tara were amazing and made sure everything was done to our liking. The food was five star and they even went out of their way to accommodate my vegan diet. We had family members stay at the hotel from out of town/country and they are stilling calling me to say they had the best time and most wonderful stay. If I had any type of celebration in the future I would love the have it at Hotel Du Village. It was a wedding to remember and I owe it all the the wonderful people at Hotel Du Village! read more

If you like potable water, privacy, light, and the ability to sleep, do not stay here! When I first arrived, I saw a sign in the lobby saying that due to some plumbing issue, you couldn't drink or brush your teeth with the water. This was a huge annoyance, but even more so because they downplayed it so much, acting like not having potable water was no big deal. The woman at the front desk didn't even mention it, I guess she just assumed we would read the sign. (Despite using bottled water to brush my teeth, I've been having serious GI problems since, so I'm hoping I didn't ingest some bacteria when I was showering!) Then we checked into our room and there was no door between the toilet and the bed. My partner and I have been together for awhile.... but we don't go to the bathroom in front of each other, nor is it something we aspire to do..... so that was an unwelcome surprise. The room was clearly designed for one person (the beds were also TINY) so I am not sure why we weren't notified about the lack of a separate bathroom. The rooms were also SO dark you couldn't see anything. Putting on my makeup was total guess work. And the rooms off the lobby at least were so so so loud. All night long we had to listen to people in the lobby, on the stairs, in rooms above us, etc. read more

I made an appointment to see about having my wedding here. The person who assisted me, did not care to hear my vision for my wedding, was extremely rude and was very insistent about discussing price. It was here is the price... did not really show me the property and really couldn't be bothered with what I wanted. When I said I didn't want a cocktail hour I was met with WHAT... you don't want a cocktail hour... I wouldn't have a wedding here if you paid me. It's a shame, since it was a beautiful property, I could have brought my dog, my family could have stayed. Maybe it was the person who was assigned my appointment, but all I felt was money money money. All weddings cost money, it should have been about my vision and needs as a bride and she spent a little less than a total of 15 minutes with me. Don't worry... my contract has been signed to another venue who treated me with with respect. In fact all of the venues I visited treated me with respect. Except this property. read more

This was a fantastic venue for the outdoor ceremony, cocktails, dinner reception, dancing and after party as well the rehearsal dinner the night before by the pool & fire pits. We had the entire estate to ourselves - a great decision by our daughter & her now husband! Many out of town guests stayed on property or at the Logan Inn (same wonderful owner). The entire staff ( I mean everyone) knows the true meaning of customer service. It was comforting to know that two professionals like Ashley and Gabe, would be in charge of guaranteeing everything was perfect. Amazing people to work with and we feel so blessed to have them involved. The three days on site had LOTS of moving pieces that someone needed to be on top of and they truly did a remarkable job!! The head Chef, servers, bartenders, hotel clerks & parking attendants couldn't have been more accomplished. Our guests made many comments about their attentiveness and professionalism. In fact half the guests have told us "it was the best wedding we were ever at" and that's music to our ears. A cousin from France was so impressed by your french country estate..seriously saying how genuine it felt; "like being in France" and we agree. If you're reading this, I encourage to check this place out. It is huge and yet has such an intimate feel to it. If you are looking for extreme customer service experience, if you are looking to be humiliated, ignored and lied to - this is the place to go. I tried to book a Birthday party for my husband at Hotel du Village. I contacted their customer service to request a call back from party organizer. I received an email from Tara DiBianca 5 days later, in response I asked to be contacted on the phone to discuss the planning in person. She promised to contact me the next day but never did. Since I never heard back from Tara, I wrote to the owner of Landmark Hospitality - Jeanne Cretalla - asking to interfere. My message was ignored. Another 4 days passed and Tara called me to discuss the details and to make an appointment for us to see the venue. She promised to send me all required information via email on the same day so I can review it before the meeting. Needless to say that I did not receive this email from her, never heard back from her or from hotel management. I give this business one star only because there is no option of NO stars at all. I am extremely offended by this treatment. I want everybody to know how they do business and how much they care about their customers. read more
