    Cappuccino time.

Enchanting. Regal. Magnificent. I could sum up the entire review with those three words, which whisper their existence in every inch of this Hotel. The splendor of the palace is present everywhere. The beautifully ornate furniture, the silk draperies, classic museum grade decorations, the excellence in service, and the location... right on the Grand Canal. And if you're lucky enough to get a room with a window... then, your experience will be amplified. No matter where you stay at, chances are you will absolutely love Venice, but if you stay here at the Gritti, you'll want to stay in Venice! My greatest regret is that we stayed one night. As much as I loved Rome, I wish we had allocated more resources (money & time) to spend it at this posh palace! My advice to you is the following: 1) Stay few days (We didn't which we regret) 2) Plan on dressy outfits ( I hadn't -which I regret) 3) Although there are many places you can eat/drink, spend at least one occasion to sit on the deck and sip on a wine, or a cappucino. Priceless! 4) Smile and take it all in! ( I did, and so grateful for the memories!) A big Ciao to the Gritti!

Hotel room. This is what suites look like in Europe. Small. But cute.

This hotel is definitely amazing! We got the suite which was $1100 a night. Their suites are not like American suites. They are small over there but the room was definitely fancy and nice! They provide Acqua Di Parma hair conditioner, shampoo, lotion, and body wash! Super fancy. Restrooms was amazing beyond words. The breakfast buffet was a bit pricey 50 euros per person. And we had dinner on the canal. Awesome view. If you go to the hotel lobby hallways, you'll see picture frames and signatures of all the celebrities that stayed here like Scarlet Johansson, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and many more. Yes boat taxi rides are very expensive. $150 to get to the casino de Venezia one way. So $300 round trip and it was only 20 mins ride. $200 from the hotel back to airport. So plan accordingly!

Beautiful place for an afternoon cappuccino and dessert! The tiramisu was amazing.

Definitely the best location for food and sleep in Venezia! The view of the terrace is breathtaking!

They have a patio on the grand canal, but it was too cold to sit outside.

Lots and lots of restaurants to choose from in Venice but this unassuming restaurant is a true gem…read more It's easy to miss as it's tucked in a corner right by a bridge. Once inside they have a couple tables with small window views of any gondolas passing by. We started off with a plate of lightly fried sardines topped with pickled white onions. The fry on the fish was super light and those vinegar-y onions were the perfect pairing. We cleaned that plate. The lasagna was well balanced with the meat, sauce, cheese. The squid ink pasta was chewy/al dente with a subtle touch of seafood flavors giving the cuttlefish. It was very umami but nothing too overbearing. Delicious! It's a Family business that was been around for many years. Grazie to the friendly staff and chef!

I am so sad to give this restaurant such a poor rating after visiting many times during the last 20…read moreyears and loving it before. The jovial mood with the waiters with big personalities is gone. The menu you can find online is no longer available so you get a very limited menu to choose from--nearly entirely seafood. So if you have anyone in your party that just wants pasta with a red meat sauce or a non seafood lasagne, not available. We were a party of 8. Two people ordered the scallop appetizers. Pretty presentation on shells. 3 tiny scallops in the shells. More like an amuse bouche. Totally disappointing. The linguine with clams as an entree had clams so small you almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. Couldn't taste the clams and annoying to try to eat something so tiny , and just try to eat the pasta with all those tiny shells. The baby shrimp on polenta was actually good. But again the shrimp were like tiny hatchlings tempura battered. Tasted okay except for those that were soggy from the polenta that was very soupy. I wanted the gnocchi with crab which was on the very limited menu but no longer available. The alternative was gnocchi with a sea bass sauce which I chose but didn't like at all. The gnocchi were good but the sauce wasn't at all for me. We had to continue to ask for side dishes for the bread, butter, olive oil, salt and pepper. We will not return. Poor value for your money. Plus there is a cover charge and service included in your bill which was a surprise. Very sad to see our favorite Venetian restaurant decline so much.
