If you looking for a legit Italian restaurant in Lido , this is the one, I can't say enough about the service, food and wine , We got here at 6:30 for dinner, I believe this is the only restaurant that's opens before 7, Appetizer was a great start, we got Cabernet Sauvignon specialle as the server said which was absolutely special ,the main course was absolutely delicious, and the desert completed the great dinner. I'll definitely recommend this restaurant...

    Crabmeat with raw artichokes.

It is my last night of my trip in Venice, and in Italy. It is also the best dinner I had in Venice, and in Italy, hands down. I have been so many restaurants in Italy with many many reviews and also good ratings on Yelp or TripAdvisor. What should I say, they were not bad. So today when I went to this restaurant just because it's close to my hotel, I was not sure if it's a tourist trap because there are so few reviews on Yelp of this restaurant. All I can say is that the food is so delicious. Yes it is a bit pricey but still quite reasonable.

This restaurant really got the quite slow lifestyle of Lido beach down, and I felt as if time flowed down as we took in the views and enjoyed our meal.

As soon as we had a room we tossed all our luggage inside and went for a walk. It was about 10pm local time and we were just crossing our fingers hoping to find a good Italian meal. Well our hotel is located on the mainland and unfortunately everything was closed. So we just walked around and while walking down what appeared to be a residential street heard music and stumbled across this hidden gem. It's cute, quite and quaint. The dining room is old world, the chef delivers his food to the table and happily describes his works of art exhausted, perspiring and out of breath, but proud and anxious. We only had a small plate of spaghetti and some wine but it was delicious! It was more than delicious it was the best spaghetti we have had. We ate, drank and talked into the night. The families dining around us ordered plate after plate after plate....... We soaked in the background noise of children and family speaking Italian.......laughing and having a splendid evening. I wish we were here a couple more days so we could go back. If your in the area don't pass this up!

We even heard some waiters serenade a young birthday girl and they were decked out with festive hats, accordions, and tambourines. There was a cover fee €3 per person which was surprising for us. It started off well; they gave us a nice table in the back room even without a reservation. The waitperson brought us menus and came back about 10 minutes later to take our orders. Then we sat... and sat... and sat while several other tables were seated *and* served before we got our food. In fact, the waitperson never came back to check on us or anything! We didn't get our meal until one of my travel companions inquired about how much longer it would be. The couple at the next table had just about finished their meal already! We started to feel that maybe they didn't like tourists since we were the only ones there and we were the only ones ignored. While the service left a whole lot to be desired, the food was reasonably good. I had the grilled branzino and it was only okay; there were lots of bones and it was very plain. A sprinkle of salt and some lemon improved it, but it still wasn't something I'd want again. My companions had the seafood salad and the scallops and they both enjoyed their dishes. The scallops looked especially delicious. If I was ever in this area again, I'd skip this restaurant; I don't like being overlooked!

The grilled calamari was cooked very well and a hint of lemon helped its case quite a bit. Admittedly there was a large group in the restaurant. Lighting was adequate, acoustics very good and music was subdued. Despite this, the quality of the Bolognese makes it worth a visit--just be prepared to maybe--possibly--flag someone down when you need a refill of a beverage or want some condiments. I'd come back.

A combination of a thunderstorm and an early dinner meant the place was empty, but Marco and other staff welcomed us warmly all the same. We had the antipasti Parmigiana Di Melanzane (fried eggplant with cheese) and enjoyed the mains Pasta Al Forno (baked pasta with beef and peas), Pasta Con Le Polpette E Salsa Di Pomodoro (spaghetti with meatballs - not pictured), and Turbante Di Pesce Spada "A Beccafico" (baked swordfish). These were also with the Casa Rosso wine and Birra Siciliana beer both blonde and red. All food was superb. The fried eggplant was flavorful and fresh, and the bread was crispy and savory. The baked pasta was rich, the spaghetti and meatballs were nostalgic, and the swordfish was delectable. Safe to say we all cleared our plates easily. We wish nothing but the very best for Marco and his restaurant. This food was some of the best we had on our two week stay throughout Italy. The atmosphere, staff, and of course the amazing food made for a great experience that we would recommend to anyone looking for a reasonably priced homestyle Sicilian meal.
