Clean and quiet hotel! The front desk is also very customer oriented because I misplaced an electronic device during check in and they stored it safely for me and I was able to get it at check out! Amenities here include: two pool tables! An outdoor terrace! Laundry room and Swimming pool! Inside the room you get a 55 inch flat screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, a glass table with two chairs, full length mirror, closet with safe plus ironing amenities and a small balcony overlooking the main road! Only issues here are: NO fitness center! There was a used shaving razor in the bathroom, The AC unit is obscured by a wooden cabinet and room furniture. Also a portion of the wall in the bathroom is wearing off

Upon arrival, everything initially seemed fine. However, we were very disappointed with Room 338. The room was extremely small--barely enough space to move around. As a petite person, I don't usually notice room size, but this was uncomfortably cramped. The room we selected online appeared much larger in the photos and even showed a sitting area with a table and two chairs. What we received was completely different and not reflective of what was advertised. The hotel gives the impression of being more upscale based on its photos, but in reality, it fell short of expectations. One major inconvenience was that our morning showers had no hot water on the first two days. We reported this to the front desk and finally had hot water on days three and four. Another serious issue occurred after we checked out on Monday, June 9, 2025. We accidentally left five men's dress shirts hanging in the closet. We realized this as soon as we got home and promptly called the hotel, offering to pay for shipping via our UPS account. However, we were told that no shirts were found. I am 200% sure the shirts were left in the closet, which strongly suggests they were STOLEN by housekeeping. This experience confirms why I usually place a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door for the entirety of our stay--to avoid having anyone enter the room. Unfortunately, this time reinforces my concern: belongings can and do get STOLEN. We will not return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to others, especially considering the lack of accountability for the STOLEN SHIRTS and the discrepancy between the advertised and actual accommodations. Attached are comparison photos of the room advertised versus the room we were given. As you can see the room is barely large enough for the two nightstands on each side of the bed. My photo was taken standing in from the the TV stand.

We stayed here for the beach life festival and it was a decent stay. We arrived with plenty of parking available..the website said limited parking but wr didn't see many cars until our last day which was Sunday, and even then there were spots available. Nice reception area love the lighted name inside. Definitely a boutique hotel we had a room on the second floor facing the Pch and a side road so it was loud at times. The door kept some sound out but to have the door open for ocean air was definitely noisy. At check in they said they were "booked solid" so we just went with the flow. Again not Terrible but loud at times..we had multiple fire/ambulance/police sirens our first evening and thought out stay. Now the views..you have to stay towards the back of the hotel or third level otherwise there is no ocean view unless you went to the back patio and looked out to the side. It was great air, but legit no real ocean vibes to see. The room we were in had a great bid, fridge, microwave oven and coffee pot. Great art work in the room and super basic toiletries..we had a bar of soap andd shampoo/conditioner/bodywash. Walls can be thin you can hear some of the neighbors. They had cool beach towels to borrow if you used the spa/pool..not many people there. Comfy bed meh pillows tv was good too! Not a along drive to downtown where there was restaurants/bars..the area seemed to pop there..but it was reachable by car...if you like walking up and down hills...you'll love it! Lol Grocery store across the street really good little clean eatery next to it.. The hotel does have a super limited breakfast nook which we did get from..and starbucks coffee bar but I would skip it. Wasn't worth it for us..the drink was not right and the sandwich we ordered was super basic. Again..skip unless you really hungry! No other food available here except overpriced snacks and drinks. Btw the water in the rooms Fiji water is 5 bucks a bottle..yikes! Ice machines on each floor! We had ada parking at the hotel let front desk know that you have it! Would stay here again with hopes of a ocean view!

Back when I lived in Manhattan Beach but before we had a house big enough for company, my parents always stayed at Hotel Hermosa when visiting. Not only was it conveniently located, the price could not be beat! I remember when a big $89/night sign was hanging from the side of the hotel. Those $89 days are long gone - and so is the "old" Hotel Hermosa. It has been updated to be sleek yet still beachy. And the current prices reflect the new and improved hotel. My daughter, husband, and I stayed here recently. We were placed in a room facing perhaps the busiest intersection in the South Bay - Artesia and Pacific Coast Highway. I was a little worried when we walked in the room and heard all the traffic outside. But I quickly realized that a window was ajar and once I closed it, the noise was not as noticeable. The Hotel Hermosa now has a small pool, an outdoor hang space with chairs and a pool table, and an inviting indoor work area/coffee bar adjacent to the lobby. They charge $20/day for underground parking but we avoided that by parking at our brother-in-law's place nearby. There is also some street parking available. It was nice to stay here. The staff were pleasant and I couldn't help but reminisce and think about my parents and their many stays here. While it is not cheap, the room charge is about the going rate in the area. One complaint for me would be that the WiFi did not work at our far end of the building.

Breakfast on the deck - food picked up across the street at lazy acres

Needed a place to stay near Hermosa Beach and the hotel had a 30% off summer deal. It is a cute boutique hotel with beach fusion flare. I had a city room that was quite noisy being off the road, but that was all that was available. The room details were cali vibes and welcoming. The next morning we were headed down in our swimsuits excited to have coffee with morning hot tub time - but met with a few immediate bummers: 1. No sorry, Pool doesn't open until 10am 2. Oh we will just eat on the patio then. No sorry the nook was not serving (no explanation or other recommendations, just no x2) So we head up to our room to change and the key no longer works. We had to get our keys reactivated 3 times during the stay. Tip: We made the most of it and walked across the street to the grocery store lazy acres (it is like a whole foods) and picked up breakfast and brought it to the fun deck with view at the hotel. The rooms do have a refrigerator and microwave if you need them. It even had a 60 inch TV! That is rare. But the remote was being funny and we couldn't fix the screen resolution to fit. Bathroom is nice with subway tile and tub. I like tubs because I ache and this one is very large for a tall lass like me. I love pool time but the lawn chairs are very hard and the hot tub needed some balance because the foam was out control. I do love the court yard deck and the lobby for lounging or hanging out. You can park a car in the ramp attached to the hotel for $18 a day. We ended up doing an Uber to the beach instead and walking back. Once we realized it was walkable (a little bit of a hike but the houses are fun to look at) we didn't need our car. If I were to come again I would Uber from airport too. It is close.

The husband and I stayed here for our 8th anniversary. We are locals so it was nice to find somewhere we enjoy. We typically like boutique properties just because they offer a unique stay, after so many hotels they all seem the same. We enjoyed the hot tub in the room, definitely our favorite feature. We love pool so had high expectations for the table, but they have seen better days, nonetheless they were a nice touch. Staff is not as polished as I would have expected but were nice. The heater in the room didn't work, when we called to asked for an extra blanket and mentioned it to the pm front desk agent he just said o.k. This either means they already know it doesn't work and upper management/maintenance hasn't done anything to fix it or he simply did not care. Either way, it was cold and it definitely affected the vibe in the room. We also stay in a courtyard room as we didn't want to hear the traffic from the city side, glad it was available. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to staying again.

    Loft bedroom upstairs

I stayed here one night check in was easy, I got the Baja suite in room 332. The lay out of the room was cool, and lovely view over looking the patio and ocean. Parking was $30 a night for underground parking(sort of a rip off) around 1030pm the person in the room next to me had blasting music, partying and yelling. Called the front desk and it took 3 hours for them to quiet down and i was not offered any compensation for the noise that lasted until 1AM. I paid over $350 for the room and felt it was not worth the price and also disappointed nothing was done to make up for the noise, I did not pay 350$ for a night to listen to noise until 1AM. Apparently the walls are thin, and the pool and jacuzzi are smaller than I expected it to be. Only 4 people fit comfortably in the jacuzzi. There is no bar or restaurant located in the hotel, so lazy acres grocery store across the street which is like a Whole Foods was convenient, but other than that. I would not recommend and I would not stay here again if I'm in the area.

The area has several boating clubs, a few seafood restaurants, hotels and event venues, and some small bars. It is definitely a quiet area that closes up early in the evenings. The hotel itself is really very lovely, though I wouldn't call it fancy. I will start by mentioning a few things that I didn't like. First, it is really too expensive. Likely it was more expensive than usual, as we booked late and they only had suites left. Also, I didn't like that the hotel restaurant and room service stop serving food at 10. Even after the wedding, when several people tried to go to the bar, around 10:30 on a Saturday, they stopped serving drinks. Further, we arrived to check into the hotel around 10PM on Friday night and were informed that all of the restaurants in the area were closing, so we had to drive to the next town over for dinner. I guess the area this hotel is located in is a bit too quiet for my taste. I also didn't like the $49 per night valet parking, with zero self-parking. Now, on a positive note, I enjoyed the welcome drinks, which were two mini strawberry daqueries... they were actually not too sweet and quite stiff. The staff was super friendly. They were always available and tried to be helpful. Whenever we went to the lobby they would give us bottled water. In the restaurant bar, they gave us free coffee and Diet Coke to take to our room. Our room wasn't overly impressive for a suite, but it was still very pretty. I loved having a view right on the harbor walkway. It was nice to walk out of the hotel and be right on the harbor. The balcony was a lovely place to sit with coffee. They also have an outdoor bathtub right on the patio. I love when beach hotels have outdoor tubs and showers. The room was comfortable with plenty of outlets and digital color-changing lighting. It was very clean and modern. All in all, I think the hotel was more expensive than we would choose had it not been for a wedding. However, I really did enjoy my stay. It was a friendly hotel with nice views and a bit of a resort vibe.

I drove my car and had asked about parking right before we arrived. I had called and talked to the front desk manager and asked about a vase for flowers which he didn't have. I asked him if he had this a regular glass there and he said yes. The day before I arrived and because this was booked by my girlfriend's son, I didn't know the sleeping arrangements saying we needed it two beds. I called and got voicemail the day before and someone called me back about a couple hours later. I asked if there were two beds in the room and he said no there's a bed and then there is a fold out sofa. I said oh great I will take the fold out sofa and let my girlfriend take the bed. When I arrived at the hotel with my car, I didn't know where I was parking and it wasn't. The hotel is on the beach, but it's also in a very crowded area. I went in and spoke with the front desk guy. He said his name was Chris. He hurriedly explained how I could get to the parking spot and that was CF because of the instructions he gave me. After finding the parking garage, we did receive help from Chris to unload our luggage. My girlfriend is much older and I didn't allow her to carry anything so it was just me and him. We proceeded into the hotel and after we were in there... Yes, the room seemed nice and a little standard for a boutique. I immediately heard people on the floor right above us walking back-and-forth and there was no way that that was going to work out because she had traveled all the way from Denver for this and we had traveled from North Hollywood down to Hermosa Beach and.just a lot of travel, which made us weary When I asked about getting another room, which I knew it was full because it's pretty small Hotel he said he had put us on the first floor because he thought that we would not be able to climb the stairs to get to the second floor. I told him we're both able, and even though my girlfriend is older she is limber enough to climb stairs. I think he saw the concern on my face that we might leave because we hadn't unpacked anything so he did ask the people who had moved in to the top floor to switch with us. It was nice of them and they said yes we will switch. As we were getting ready for eating our food which we ordered in, I noticed there was only one wine glass and one fork. One spoon. So we managed through it for eating. As we got ready for bed, I unfolded the sofa bed and there was a huge urine stain on the mattress and now I had to find sheets. I could not find them anywhere and called the number to get help. Chris then texted me and said "I've I received many calls from you today. If it is not urgent, you could just text me and ask me. There's no need for you to call me repeatedly" Now he was inferring that I could not call him so to speak. he texted me to let me know where the sheets were. I had called him the day before and talked with him that I would be using that fold out bet. I think it was his job to point out where the sheets were when we moved into the room. I feel that because we were senior citizens we were disregarded! I asked him on text "is this how you treat senior citizens "? And I told him that I am a customer here that has paid for the room already. The next morning, the Keurig coffee maker did not work and there were only two coffee pods for both of us. Not enough I ended up at the market trying to get coffee for both of us. I didn't bother calling him about the coffee maker. I was already just too disgusted with his attitude towards. when we checked out, he was nowhere to be found.

In just the few moments I stepped out, I saw 2 speed boats heading into King Harbor. Sweet! Room was neat and clean and followed traditional HIExpress layouts and styles. Comfortable bed, which was quickly tested with a much needed - NAP! We were able to walk to one of our favorite restaurants at Redondo Pier, Tony's! Yes, it was a 1.4mis away walk, but the weather was great and we've walked this area before, so why not? Most everything we needed was walking distance. While in the area, we were visiting South Coast Botanic Garden about 7 miles away, so we drove to that. Hubs needed some eye drops while there and a handy CVS is next door. There's also a 7-11 a couple blocks up, across PCH. Parking is included and convenient to the front and lobby entrances. The heated pool is on the ground floor, near the lobby, and is covered by the floors above. The sound of kids having fun at the pool wafted up to our room, which is how we discovered the pool! LOL We enjoyed the comp breakfast - BEST CINNAMON ROLLS! The second night, dinner was at a great Mexican restaurant across the street, Rosa's Authentic Mexican Restaurant. Mere steps away is a Phuket Thai restaurant, 4.3 stars, but Hubs doesn't eat anything "exotic"(lol). For our daily walks, there was a FANTASTIC green belt just west of the hotel, a block away, which runs all the way to Manhattan Beach, to the north. LOTS of people and dogs walking around all day. Very safe area and feels like a tight community. We enjoyed coffee and hot chocolate on the balcony in the AM and strolling the neighborhood in the PM. We would definitely return to this conveniently, comfortable and friendly HIExpress. Cheers! "CC"

I flew all the way from Charlotte, NC to spend the weekend with my family, and unfortunately our…read moreexperience started off on the wrong foot. We arrived around 12:00 p.m. to check in and were told our rooms wouldn't be ready until 4:00 p.m. We were assured someone would call us when they were ready, but no one ever did. Not a huge deal. We made the best of it and enjoyed our afternoon. When we finally returned to check in, the front desk couldn't even find my reservation in the system, which only added to the frustration. Before booking, I specifically called the hotel because our priorities were simple: two double beds, a balcony, a water view, and rooms close together for our family. I wanted to confirm this before spending the money. Unfortunately, none of those expectations were met. What was most disappointing was the "Marina View." I'm currently looking out at a parking lot with a small glimpse of the marina in the distance. Calling this a marina view feels very misleading. If you're paying extra expecting to wake up to a beautiful waterfront view, you may be very disappointed. To make matters worse, the manager approached me and said, "I already spoke to you." I had never met her before. It left me wondering if he had confused me with another guest. It's really unfortunate because the hotel itself is beautiful and the interior design is lovely. But great design can't make up for poor communication and disappointing customer service. My advice is to call the hotel directly before booking, ask very specific questions, and write down the name of the person you speak with so there's accountability if the room you receive doesn't match what you were promised. Just sucks to spend all this money and be looking at cars. Also the kayaks are not free. Only the bikes are. That was also false news.

The location is unbeatable--right on the beach --and that's what kept us coming back. Since the recent renovation and the addition of the restaurant, however, the experience has changed significantly. It feels like hotel guests have become an afterthought. While I understand why prices have increased, I also expected the level of service to improve or at least remain consistent. Unfortunately, the opposite has happened. During our stay, our room wasn't cleaned as expected, valet service was unavailable when we needed it on multiple occasions, and several staff members came across as rude and inattentive rather than welcoming. These issues made what was once a relaxing, reliable getaway feel frustrating and disappointing. It's unfortunate because this used to be one of our favorite places to stay. We have many wonderful memories here, but based on our most recent experience, we've decided this will be our last stay. I hope management takes guest feedback seriously and refocuses on the hospitality that made this property so special in the first place.
