Clean and quiet hotel! The front desk is also very customer oriented because I misplaced an electronic device during check in and they stored it safely for me and I was able to get it at check out! Amenities here include: two pool tables! An outdoor terrace! Laundry room and Swimming pool! Inside the room you get a 55 inch flat screen TV, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, a glass table with two chairs, full length mirror, closet with safe plus ironing amenities and a small balcony overlooking the main road! Only issues here are: NO fitness center! There was a used shaving razor in the bathroom, The AC unit is obscured by a wooden cabinet and room furniture. Was very disappointed with this hotel. Alejandra at the front desk was very nice and helpful, but the hotel really needs to focus on cleanliness and security. The elevators, stairs and everywhere else was so dusty and dirty. We stayed while remodeling our house and were really disappointed about how little upkeep there is. This hotel is in a great location and has the potential to be really nice. The coffee machines in the room were SO dumpy, horrible coffee. The coffee bar doesn't open until 7. Just overall dingy, I certainly wouldn't recommend this place. Also was charged $70 per night for parking. Also, the elevator from the parking to the floor of your room has no security. You don't have to scan your room key from the underground parking to get inside the hotel and on the floor. The hotel is on PCH on a Main Street, it's pretty creepy during late night and early mornings. Would never stay again! read more

Upon arrival, everything initially seemed fine. However, we were very disappointed with Room 338. The room was extremely small--barely enough space to move around. As a petite person, I don't usually notice room size, but this was uncomfortably cramped. The room we selected online appeared much larger in the photos and even showed a sitting area with a table and two chairs. What we received was completely different and not reflective of what was advertised. The hotel gives the impression of being more upscale based on its photos, but in reality, it fell short of expectations. One major inconvenience was that our morning showers had no hot water on the first two days. We reported this to the front desk and finally had hot water on days three and four. Another serious issue occurred after we checked out on Monday, June 9, 2025. We accidentally left five men's dress shirts hanging in the closet. We realized this as soon as we got home and promptly called the hotel, offering to pay for shipping via our UPS account. However, we were told that no shirts were found. I am 200% sure the shirts were left in the closet, which strongly suggests they were STOLEN by housekeeping. This experience confirms why I usually place a "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door for the entirety of our stay--to avoid having anyone enter the room. Unfortunately, this time reinforces my concern: belongings can and do get STOLEN. We will not return to this hotel and cannot recommend it to others, especially considering the lack of accountability for the STOLEN SHIRTS and the discrepancy between the advertised and actual accommodations. Attached are comparison photos of the room advertised versus the room we were given. As you can see the room is barely large enough for the two nightstands on each side of the bed. We stayed here for the beach life festival and it was a decent stay. We arrived with plenty of parking available..the website said limited parking but wr didn't see many cars until our last day which was Sunday, and even then there were spots available. Nice reception area love the lighted name inside. Definitely a boutique hotel we had a room on the second floor facing the Pch and a side road so it was loud at times. The door kept some sound out but to have the door open for ocean air was definitely noisy. At check in they said they were "booked solid" so we just went with the flow. Again not Terrible but loud at times..we had multiple fire/ambulance/police sirens our first evening and thought out stay. Now the views..you have to stay towards the back of the hotel or third level otherwise there is no ocean view unless you went to the back patio and looked out to the side. It was great air, but legit no real ocean vibes to see. The room we were in had a great bid, fridge, microwave oven and coffee pot. Great art work in the room and super basic toiletries..we had a bar of soap andd shampoo/conditioner/bodywash. Walls can be thin you can hear some of the neighbors. They had cool beach towels to borrow if you used the spa/pool..not many people there. Comfy bed meh pillows tv was good too! Not a along drive to downtown where there was restaurants/bars..the area seemed to pop there..but it was reachable by car...if you like walking up and down hills...you'll love it! Lol Grocery store across the street really good little clean eatery next to it.. The hotel does have a super limited breakfast nook which we did get from..and starbucks coffee bar but I would skip it. Wasn't worth it for us..the drink was not right and the sandwich we ordered was super basic. Again..skip unless you really hungry! No other food available here except overpriced snacks and drinks. Btw the water in the rooms Fiji water is 5 bucks a bottle..yikes! Ice machines on each floor! We had ada parking at the hotel let front desk know that you have it! Back when I lived in Manhattan Beach but before we had a house big enough for company, my parents always stayed at Hotel Hermosa when visiting. Not only was it conveniently located, the price could not be beat! I remember when a big $89/night sign was hanging from the side of the hotel. Those $89 days are long gone - and so is the "old" Hotel Hermosa. It has been updated to be sleek yet still beachy. And the current prices reflect the new and improved hotel. My daughter, husband, and I stayed here recently. We were placed in a room facing perhaps the busiest intersection in the South Bay - Artesia and Pacific Coast Highway. I was a little worried when we walked in the room and heard all the traffic outside. But I quickly realized that a window was ajar and once I closed it, the noise was not as noticeable. The Hotel Hermosa now has a small pool, an outdoor hang space with chairs and a pool table, and an inviting indoor work area/coffee bar adjacent to the lobby. They charge $20/day for underground parking but we avoided that by parking at our brother-in-law's place nearby. There is also some street parking available. It was nice to stay here. The staff were pleasant and I couldn't help but reminisce and think about my parents and their many stays here. While it is not cheap, the room charge is about the going rate in the area. One complaint for me would be that the WiFi did not work at our far end of the building. read more

Disappointed by Poor Service and Unprofessionalism We're currently staying at Hotel Hermosa, and unfortunately, the experience has been frustrating and disappointing from the start. My girlfriend booked a room with two queen beds through Priceline, and we were both shocked to be given a room with only one bed upon check-in. We showed our reservation confirmation to the front desk clerk, who insisted the hotel was sold out and offered no apology--just a "give me 20 minutes." After waiting in the lounge, a man named Daniel came over, introduced himself, and handed us keys to a "new room." But again, it was a single-bed room. We called Daniel--who claimed to be the manager on duty--and calmly expressed our frustration. Rather than taking any ownership or trying to make it right, he blamed Priceline and said it wasn't the hotel's fault. As someone in hospitality, he should have at least offered some sort of gesture--a room credit, a voucher, anything--to acknowledge the inconvenience. Instead, we got excuses. To make matters worse, we returned from dinner to meet friends who were also staying at the hotel, and--coincidentally--saw Daniel exiting room 119, right next to our friends' room, with a woman. The "Do Not Disturb" sign was still on the door. It felt incredibly unprofessional for a manager of a supposedly sold-out hotel to be using guest rooms for personal visits during a shift. Overall, the lack of accountability, poor hospitality, and questionable conduct from the manager left a bad taste. We won't be returning--and wouldn't recommend Hotel Hermosa to others based on this experience. Had to point a star to post.. should have been a minus. read more

We came to check in during a holiday weekend and had booked through a third party. For the first time ever using them, our reservation couldn't be found. Katie at the front desk was amazing! She did absolutely everything she could to try to locate it, even calling the third-party company. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to reach a live representative, completely out of her control, but she remained calm, kind, and incredibly helpful the entire time.Long story short, she worked her magic and got us into a room. Ive stayed at this hotel over a dozen times and the first few times were pleasant. The views from the back rooms which I always request were always worth it. However I doubt Ill be back as I strongly believe the person whom I just met today before I could check in is a racist. Shortly after arriving at the hotel after an exhausting drive in I received a call from a friend wanting me to meet him and his wife later for a drink. I was in good spirits and told my friend sounds good and ill meet him soon. I still had to check in and also was going to throw my good jacket in the wash (located in parking garage) next to where I parked. A man (later) claiming to be with the hotel approached my vehicle in a creepy and suspicious way I cannot explain In words and said "hello, hello are you staying here?" Not recognizing him at all from all the times I stayed here and from the looks of him I had my doubts he wasn't just some guest who wanted my spot. No name tag. No formal attire. Nothing. Then he adds to my skepticism by saying something I know couldn't be true. That they have heard complaints. What?? If for whatever reason they didn't have such a high turnaround with staff someone would have told him "oh thats Mr. " " he's stayed here before and is a very thoughtful and pleasant guest. (Even bringing someones laptop they had left on upstairs balcony so it would be safe until the owner returned. ) Unfortunately this stranger wasn't so pleasant he looked at my Lexus I was sitting in with a strange look (which ill admit could use a car wash after just driving from Vegas) Still, he had this preconceived idea about me and knowingly lied saying since he has heard complaints... What??...when I said what complaints Ive been parked here less than an hour. He had nothing to say to that. His lie was written all over his face. He then looked in and must have seen my star of David hanging from my rear view mirror. That would be the second time I think he noticed it. I cant honestly say I spotted him checking it out the first time but Im guessing he did. I didn't say anything about it nor was about to ask him why do you keep looking at my star?. Its not something one brings up when trying to get a troublemaker to go away. So to get rid of him I told him another name besides my Jewish last name and when he went away I was so disgusted I pulled my jacket from the washer, got back in my car and drove to the Westdrift Hotel up the road. Known to have the cleanest rooms and friendliest staff. It sits on a golf course and is known for housing football players during season practice like the LA Chargers. No one there will ever judge you or make you feel uncomfortable. The way it should be. I can say that with confidence you'll enjoy your stay much better there without worry of someone ruining your day. read more

Needed a place to stay near Hermosa Beach and the hotel had a 30% off summer deal. It is a cute boutique hotel with beach fusion flare. I had a city room that was quite noisy being off the road, but that was all that was available. The room details were cali vibes and welcoming. The next morning we were headed down in our swimsuits excited to have coffee with morning hot tub time - but met with a few immediate bummers: 1. No sorry, Pool doesn't open until 10am 2. Oh we will just eat on the patio then. No sorry the nook was not serving (no explanation or other recommendations, just no x2) So we head up to our room to change and the key no longer works. We had to get our keys reactivated 3 times during the stay. Tip: We made the most of it and walked across the street to the grocery store lazy acres (it is like a whole foods) and picked up breakfast and brought it to the fun deck with view at the hotel. The rooms do have a refrigerator and microwave if you need them. It even had a 60 inch TV! That is rare. But the remote was being funny and we couldn't fix the screen resolution to fit. Bathroom is nice with subway tile and tub. I like tubs because I ache and this one is very large for a tall lass like me. I love pool time but the lawn chairs are very hard and the hot tub needed some balance because the foam was out control. I do love the court yard deck and the lobby for lounging or hanging out. You can park a car in the ramp attached to the hotel for $18 a day. We ended up doing an Uber to the beach instead and walking back. Once we realized it was walkable (a little bit of a hike but the houses are fun to look at) we didn't need our car. If I were to come again I would Uber from airport too. It is close. read more

The husband and I stayed here for our 8th anniversary. We are locals so it was nice to find somewhere we enjoy. We typically like boutique properties just because they offer a unique stay, after so many hotels they all seem the same. We enjoyed the hot tub in the room, definitely our favorite feature. We love pool so had high expectations for the table, but they have seen better days, nonetheless they were a nice touch. Staff is not as polished as I would have expected but were nice. The heater in the room didn't work, when we called to asked for an extra blanket and mentioned it to the pm front desk agent he just said o.k. This either means they already know it doesn't work and upper management/maintenance hasn't done anything to fix it or he simply did not care. Either way, it was cold and it definitely affected the vibe in the room. We also stay in a courtyard room as we didn't want to hear the traffic from the city side, glad it was available. Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to staying again. read more

I stayed here one night check in was easy, I got the Baja suite in room 332. The lay out of the room was cool, and lovely view over looking the patio and ocean. Parking was $30 a night for underground parking(sort of a rip off) around 1030pm the person in the room next to me had blasting music, partying and yelling. Called the front desk and it took 3 hours for them to quiet down and i was not offered any compensation for the noise that lasted until 1AM. I paid over $350 for the room and felt it was not worth the price and also disappointed nothing was done to make up for the noise, I did not pay 350$ for a night to listen to noise until 1AM. Apparently the walls are thin, and the pool and jacuzzi are smaller than I expected it to be. Only 4 people fit comfortably in the jacuzzi. There is no bar or restaurant located in the hotel, so lazy acres grocery store across the street which is like a Whole Foods was convenient, but other than that. I would not recommend and I would not stay here again if I'm in the area. read more

Stayed at this no-frills little gem for two nights for a business trip and was really happy with it. From check-in, the front desk staff were super nice and helpful, including printing out a few documents I needed for my meeting, and lending me a pair of scissors and a stapler. There was a suite we booked for our meeting that had a small kitchen, living room area and table, and a phenomenal view of the ocean. There was a powder room on the first floor and a spiral staircase leading up to the loft on the second floor where there was a full bathroom. Great for a small-ish meeting/staff retreat. If you are a light sleeper, I'd suggest bringing ear plugs in case your room is on the front side of the hotel, like mine was -- although I just kept the fan on all night and the white noise made for a great night's sleep, as did the super comfortable mattress. As I mentioned above, the place is no frills -- so you have to request maid service if staying more than one day and you need it. There aren't coffee machines in the rooms, or coffee in the lobby -- but the cafe opens at 6am (ish) and you can get really good coffee then. Hotel Hermosa is less than a half hour drive from LAX, and the prices won't break your budget. I definitely plan to return in the future. read more

My wife and I had the best ten year anniversary trip you could ask for, and staying at the Hotel Hermosa was a big reason why. They went above and beyond and upgraded us to the penthouse suite. It was magnificent to stay there and we felt like royalty. The hotel is walking distance to so much, including the beach, groceries, food, and bars. You're basically paying for the location, walking distance from the beach and Lazy Acres. The bed was lumpy. Coffee is complimentary but apparently you have to pay for the overpriced Fiji water to be able to have the "complimentary" coffee. There is coin laundry downstairs, without a dollar cashing machine, and no dryer! I overpaid for it through Priceline and I don't feel like I got what I paid for. Don't go through Priceline. They need new mattresses. The room isn't worth more than $100-$133/night. The lobby is cute. The front desk staff is sweet but there is only one person working the floor at all times and no manager on site. read more

Oh I really loved my stay here. The staff was kind and accommodating. The room was clean and had character. I had a balcony room overlooking the ocean. I got this hotel for a Mother's Day solo trip. I just stared out the window and gawked at the ocean and the breeze. There is a great place to get groceries across the street. I ate at the El Sombrero #2. You can also order take out. There is a Goodwill across the street. They need to improve the key card system but they were so nice and accommodating. Also, this works has enough problems, there is no need to get angry about something. They accommodated me. I did not drink the coffee they served because it was Starbucks. But there are places across the street to get coffee and donuts. I am booking this hotel from my husband for Father's Day. He was jealous when he and the kids met me to swim after I checked out of the room. I really loved this place and I love Hermosa Beach. read more

I had not been there since the remodel although I have had friends and family stay there when visiting. We hosted a luncheon event on the back patio last weekend and we will definitely be back. Beautiful panoramic views of the ocean, couches and lounge chairs, billiards all provided a great atmosphere for a social gathering. We got first class accommodations with reasonable prices for our non-profit. We will continue to be great fans of Hotel Hermosa and look forward to hosting more events there. Shady! I stayed 4 nights and had room service harrass me and open my door while I was inside 3x in 1 day, every day I was there. I felt like I was being watched and targeted. The one day I left and "room service" was there to "clean" my room, I came back to a barely touched and cleaned room, bed made but with old sheets. My suitcase was rummaged through as well on top of the fact that at 7 am on the 3rd day I was there, after repeatedly telling the maid service I did not want them to come in my room even though they persisted, they ripped off my do not disturb sign. SHADY! Do NOT trust this place. Rip off. Scam. Targets out of towners. No fan in the bathroom. Bathroom door had to be propped open, LOUD doors slamming at all hours of the night. AVOID. read more

Hotel stay was ok at best the bed was comfy I'll give them that room was a bit small and bathroom is a little outdated the worst part was the parking I paid for parking and hung the little sigh on my mirror , left to have dinner with the wife came back to a full parking lot there were at least 12 vehicles that didn't have the parking pass. I spent about an hour driving around and inside the parking garage which is small and found nothing. I spoke to the front desk they said there should be parking on the side street which there wasn't. I kept driving in and out finally after about an hour I saw a car leave and I drove in again. Worst experience ever I just wanted to get some sleep since it was late. The only advice the front desk had was " well some people should be leaving soon" never again will I stay here. read more

The location is very convenient for local activities, the pool and jacuzzi are a great addition to the hotel's lounge, the rooms are very cozy and they have various amenities that most hotels charge extra for. I get the impression that this business is very focused on collecting and selling as much of your personal data as they can. They insist upon an email address when you check in, and have an Opt In box on their check in form, which I left blank. The hotel's wifi requires that you opt in to promotional emails/contact info sharing with 3rd parties to use, so I gave a fake email. Upon check out, I asked the desk clerk to make sure my email was deleted in accordance with CA state law. And yet I've already started getting promotional emails from their parent company, Pacifica Hotels. read more

I'd definitely stay here again. It's just a short walk to the beach. About 20 mins. They have two pool tables lots of chairs and tables and huge couches to lay and lounge on in the back. It's a bar table top set up in the outside area. Perfect for having some drinks. They do serve alcohol in cans but I recommend buying a 12 pack as their white claws are 7 bucks a can. There's also a corn hole game to play. The pool was great and so was the Jacuzzi. They sell breakfast here on the weekends. Only down side is no coffee to buy on weekdays. Bed was comfortable. This was our first time staying here at this hotel, it's in a great location less then 5 mins from the beach the Lobby was really clean and the front desk service was great. The rooms where great , really clean had microwave,refrigerator, coffee maker . Bed was comfy , if you have street view it can get a little noise but it wasn't a big deal for us . We used the jacuzzi all 3 days we where there. They let us check in at 1:00 which was nice , not like some places only at 4:00 ! The only thing that sucks is the 18.00 a day parking. DO NOT STAAY HERE!!!! If I could leave 0 stars I would but since yelp only allows 1 I'll settle for that. I'll try to keep this brief. The biggest most concerning issue with hotel hermosa is fraud. I prepaid for the room via a 3rd party app. Three days after I checked out I was charged a $250 smoking fee when I don't even smoke! When I asked about why I was assessed the fee I spoke with the management and he said they found ashes on the balcony. ASHES ON THE BALCONY? No smells, no complaints from other residents, nothing of the sort l, just ashes on the balcony. When I explained to the manager on duty that I don't smoke he then went to mention that "he doesn't want to hear it" like he's speaking to one of his children. I hung up the phone, called my credit card company and told them to charge them back. I see based on the reviews they have an issue with fraudulent charges and rude management. They also collect a lot of personal information upon check in via paper form (address, drivers license number, license plate number, email, phone number etc) which is concerning in retrospect, why are they collecting so much data on all of their customers? Hotel Hermosa should be called hotel feo. It doesn't look at all like it should in photos. The rooms are small and not clean. The hotel front door desk man was never available. We tried to order towels at 10 pm and nobody was at the front desk, we also tried to inquire about coffee at 930 am again nobody there. Please avoid this hotel at all costs. The service is terrible and management scams paying customers. Listen to the rest of the reviews and AVOID AVOID AVOID! read more

Check in was pretty smooth, pretty standard. When you first walk in it is a big dark and gloomy but once you head to the back patio it brightens up a lot. The view from back there was just beautiful. We weren't that far away from the beach but definitely not close enough to walk anywhere but it's a quick 5-10 mins Lyft/Uber to Manhattan beach. Please note there is no bar and the little walk up deli thing they have is closed due to construction and if you want room service you have to order the day before. There isn't a lot of snack options either but there is a mini-fridge and refrigerator if you want to pick up some items from the grocery store across the street. Giving it a 4 star due to the lack of amenities but overall a pretty great stay. Ps... the beds are ridiculously comfortable, it was hard to want to get out of bed. read more

The hotel in general is very good, from check in to all the amenities it has. The rooms and facilities are clean. The only but, and the reason why I would NOT stay here again is the customer service. The cleaning staff broke my razor, and when I let the staff know, they told me they would give me an answer in a few hours. They called me and told me that the manager said he could not offer me any comfort. I asked to speak to the manager, they told me he was not available, and gave me his email. Valentines Weekend 2021.... Upon entering the hotel didn't look like much but I was surprised by how cozy the rooms were. Small clean and cute. We stayed for 5 days. The room we received was facing the street so we purchased an upgrade to see the courtyard which was nice with partial beach view. Everything was great until.... Second night, our keys stopped working we simply thought we demagnetized the card no biggie. We went to the front desk and that's when the manager was aggressively asking us WHO checked us in the night before and why we weren't in our original room. We told her we paid for an upgrade. She continued to be very mean. She told us she blocked the room out because they didn't know who's belongs were in the room. They gave our room to someone else and they came back to the desk to tell her the room was occupied. OH I WAS FURIOUS!!! Someone was in my room with my valuables and COVID!! Once I mentioned covid her whole attitude changed. She then offered to move our room to a downgrade because it was the only room available. We said no but they can disinfect our room. So they did. No other problems after that but definitely not returning. read more
