Had the Most delicious, scrumptious Brunch with 2 Guava Mimosas in the gorgeous patio overlooking the marina across from the Portofino Hotel!!!

Gorgeous event venue - we attended a wedding and wedding reception and the views, service and venue were all excellent. Everything was clean and modern and the drinks and food were delicious. Convenient valet parking, great restaurant and bar on the first floor, and a beautiful seaside venue for events of all kinds.

Super laid back hotel with a decent restaurant/ bar. Stayed here as part of an adventure in Redondo Beach eating at a Tiki place, figured the difference in two way uber and hotel was small, so we stayed.view of the harbor was great, seal calls and sunset. The hotel could buy some new easy close door units for the loud harbor gates.

Patio view. Slightly elevated from ground level.

Did a little January solo staycation here for one night. They have valet and lots of parking, check in was easy and they offered a little frozen margarita which was tasty and cute. Room was great, so spacious with a patio and marina view and an outdoor bathtub. Great room but the smell of the seals was overwhelming and made me not want to stay out there too long. I got a voucher for food and drink and also a food credit for room service. It was nice, I think they were running a special or something. Drinks and food at the hotel restaurant were decent. There's a happy hour and the patio is perfect to catch the sunset with a marina view. There's also a rooftop pool I believe but it was a little too chilly for me at the time. Staff at hotel and restaurant were great. Very kind and polite. I would come back again during warmer months.

We just ate at the restaurant downstairs but had a great time. Pepperoni pizza was delicious. It can get quite warm outside on a bright day, and the shaded seating areas fill up fast. Very friendly staff and they validate valet parking so it's cheaper.

Two tv's and you can change the the color of the lights in the room.

I've stayed here a couple of times and the place is nice. It's pricey because of the location and parking is $45 a night. We had a situation with the hot water, but it was fixed within 20 mins. I was grateful that they took immediate action. We had another incident but with a critter. The management team was great and Jessica was great! I believe Alba was at the front desk and she was delightful. The team that worked during the holiday season was all nice.

Boutique hotel in Redondo with another location in Manhattan Beach. Stayed here with my family and they gave us a handicap suite for some reason, although the only thing that made it different was that there was no step into the shower. There was some confusion around the resort fee but essentially we got charged $250 upon check in, of which $160 comprised of the $40 per person resort fee, $80 for overnight valet for one night for two cars, and taxes. Valet parking is mandatory and their closest street spots that aren't metered are about a 15-20 minute walk. When we checked out, one car had to pay in cash for the partial valet fee while the other car got the fee tacked onto the final charge. They do have beach equipment and bikes you can rent, but we mostly hung at the pool. The pool was a bit disappointing as it was really small and there was no hot tub. There were lounge chairs that you can walk up to as well as bigger couches with tables that you could reserve. The pool guy was nice and brought us water bottles as it was a hot day. In terms of the room we had a lot of space and the beds were comfortable. We were able to get extra pillows and dental kits from housekeeping. For each day that you didn't do cleaning, they donate a portion for environmental causes. There's a restaurant downstairs and you get a $10 credit for dinner through the hotel if you eat there. There's a mini fridge filled with drinks for purchase but we were able to fit some leftovers in there.

The tuna bite everything you try is good and they renew their plate very often and they had the best choices

Do they still have Happy hour?

Yes, Sea Level Restaurant has Happy Hour Weekdays 3-6pm.

    What time is check in?

Check in time begins at 3pm. Check out time is at 11am.

I'm staying at the hotel for 3 nights at the tail end of January. Is there complimentary parking if you are a guest at the hotel?

We had Handicapped parking but I believe regular parking is Valet.

Is there a reverse happy hour on the weekends? I am reading conflicting things online. Anything else going on other than the M-F 3-6 happy hour as I will be there on a Saturday.

Our room was really spacious, we had large comfy beds and it was really clean, my only issue was the bathroom, it smelled like humidity, but nothing crazy. The manager who checked us in, I believe was Aram, he was really friendly and told us about breakfast. Even though I was exhausted I did have breakfast the next day and it was pretty tasty, I made my own waffles, had an omelet and some POG juice! Even met some Swifties during breakfast! Would definitely recommend people check them out and book on the Best Western site directly that way you can add early check in for an additional fee. The front desk is bad, not welcoming, not smiling and not helpful. Management doesn't care at the time when we're here. It is an old motel not a hotel worth experiencing. The AC is out and it will not be back until tomorrow. Our room is on the first floor where people can see in, so we can't close the shades and get air from outside (and our side of the hotel is the parking lot side, so it doesn't even get ocean air or view.) I booked this hotel for a friend's Labor Day weekend wedding nearby expecting a "premium boutique hotel." (Google Gemini's words, not mine.) I booked it from the AmEx travel portal because it's on The Hotel Collection where I get a free night if I book 2 nights, free breakfast, and $100 credit. The wedding recommended other less-nice hotels nearby, but actually with the free night, it came out to be roughly the same price for 3 nights. It has been nothing but disappointing (beginning with the broken AC.) The pool and hot tub were small and middling. The room is dated. The restaurant (with free breakfast and a dinner we got with the $100 credit) was mediocre. You call those steak tacos rare? Where is the flavor? Service was also lacking. Very slow at dinnertime and it wasn't even busy. There's a daily facilities fee ($40) that is supposed to include the hotel bikes (free 2 hours on a regular bike, free 1 hour on an e-bike.) The bikes are very basic and were not that clean. This is a blatant money grab. The common areas are nice. The spa water in the lobby is nice. The cafe closes at 10am which is absurd to me. Another review this year (2026) said parking was $20--now it's $43/night. Wifi is very slow and unreliable (I can't even post this scathing review because it's down again.) Service was fine, albeit unremarkable. I would not come back and I would go to any of the other wedding-recommended hotels before the Portofino because they bill themselves as a nice hotel and have been the complete opposite.

**Good Night, Don't Let the Bed Bugs Bite**…read more Since 2020, The Beach House in Hermosa Beach has been my preferred staycation destination. Although the front desk staff often made me feel more tolerated than celebrated, the stunning views kept me coming back and with no room service available, my interactions with the staff were limited to check-in and check-out, allowing me to enjoy my visits in peace. After my mother passed away in July 2025, I chose this hotel to help me cope during my first birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas without her. The beach has always served as my sanctuary. However, during my last stay in December 2025, I unknowingly left with an unwanted holiday gift: BED BUGS. That's right BED BUGS AT THE BEACH HOUSE, HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA! Throughout 2025, The Beach House was my only travel destination. In January 2026, I began to notice itching, and by February, I was experiencing severe reactions without understanding the cause. One night around 3 a.m., I spotted a bug crawling on my pillow. After killing it, taking a pic and asking Google to identify, I discovered it was a bed bug. Having lived in my home for over 50 years without any bed bug issues, I was shocked. I immediately contacted an exterminator, who confirmed the presence of bed bugs, likely brought in during my December visit. Given that my only travel in the past year was to The Beach House, I knew where they originated. Fortunately, I caught the problem early, but it still cost me $2,000 to eradicate them before they became an infestation. I stayed on the 3rd Floor in an Ocean Front Suite I guess you can say I got more than I bargained for. SHAME ON Beach House Hotel Hermosa Beach for not maintaining a higher standard of care to protect guests from BED BUGS!
