What an amazing hotel! This is not just another building that was constructed with a bunch of rooms and a lobby, so it can make money! Whoever conceived the concept of this place was really thinking! It's all about art and the local community! They feature several artists with art installations throughout the lobby! Each room has a huge mural on one of the walls, and every room has a different mural!! They try to get food, as much as they can, from local Gaineville farms, for the meals! Even the lights hanging from the ceiling represent the bats at the UF bat house, on campus. The elegant lobby has representations of local wildlife, and there are art motifs just about everywhere! It is such a nice place to visit, and eat, even if you are not staying here. The kitchen is open to the public!! The staff is friendly and helpful (of course), and the overall vibe to the hotel is soothing, and relaxing. This is great for people traveling to recharge their batteries or anyone else that just wants their stress to melt! Enjoyed a one night stay here as we were traveling and visiting friends in the area. Free parking was in the adjacent parking structure which was nice. The rooms are decorated similar to Hard Rock, The Palms in Las Vegas or other contemporary hotels. The staff was very helpful and professional. The beds were comfortable and the AC worked well. I've had great experiences staying here the last 3 times. Parking is super convenient and free in the parking garage right across from the hotel. Staff was friendly and got me checked in and checked out quickly. The rooms weee very comfortable and modern, with wide open spaces and comfortable bed. My favorite part was the bathroom. STAY HERE IF YOU LIKE SKUNKY POT We booked 3 rooms for 5 nights, and for 4 of those nights, there were multiple instances of extremely strong pot coming in through the AC vents in two rooms. Since the hotel has both a non-smoking policy and the "IHG Clean Promise", we notified the front desk staff. The hotel was full, and they couldn't move us, so we asked to talk to the manager. Despite assurances from the front desk staff, the manager did not contact us during our stay, nor afterwards. In fact, the managing supervisor on our 4th night was surprisingly hostile, and told us that since Florida has a medical marijuana law, there was no way they could do anything, and we should just deal with it. (We weren't the only ones complaining about the smell--the lovely lady on night shift during the previous evening had asked if we were on the 4th floor, because they'd gone up to walk the hall, and hadn't smelled anything; we were on the 2nd floor, so this wasn't an isolated incident). At the time of our check out, we were told that the reason the manager hadn't called was because she was on vacation, but would definitely get in contact with us. We left both phone and email contact information, and over a week later, have not heard anything. Our hotel bill for the 5 nights was over $5400. The rooms were adequate for the price, water pressure fine, the bar staff delightful. However, the supervisor was rude, manager was completely absent, and I am completely astounded that the hotel would be so cavalier about someone habitually smoking pot in the hotel. read more

The rooms are modern and clean and it's located in Celebration Point that has restaurants and a movie theater. In Gainesville it's the best choice. Hotel indigo is a reliable, elevated experience that's a notch above your typical mid price hotels. The one in Gainesville did not disappoint. I especially like the lobby, decor, and the homage to hometown musician Tom Petty. There was a nice sense of place, starting with the plastic alligator that greets you as you walk in. I had the opportunity to stay at this wonderful IHG property in December 2022. Located in the heart of Celebration Pointe, it really is steps away from shops and restaurants. I enjoyed the proximity of everything from my hotel. The parking is free and located in the big garage adjacent to the hotel. Check in was fairly easy and the room was clean. The hotel has a nice rainfall shower and the water was nice and hot. HVAC controls were easy to operate and the temperature was good. Overall very pleasant stay. read more

The service during breakfast was really slow, but our waitress was Desiree and she was friendly and pleasant! Disgusting hotel, very dirty. See pictures. Dead bugs in the bed, a dried up bodily fluid on the nightstand, bad AC and mold smell. I arrived late on a business trip and upon checking in asked to switch rooms and was denied. There was no housekeeping on call so the desk attendant gave me sheets to change myself. I asked for a refund and after multiple emails and phone calls the hotel begrudgingly gave me the equivalent of $50 in IHG points because I booked thru Priceline, which to me seems very classist. As someone who travels 100+ days a year, I have never written a poor review for any of my sub-par stays. This hotel is disgusting and horribly managed, and to think it's an INDIGO is...wild. Happy that indigo made it to Gainesville. Very modern hotel. Reasonable prices. Conviennent location off 75, near the Butler plaza. Lots of food and shopping options walkable and nearby. New movie theater as well. Quiet location. Super friendly staff. Has a gym, pool, bar, restaurant and business center. They give a gift bag to IHG members. A snack bar, tiny water bottle, and a wooden toothbrush. The breakfast was tasty. They dont have everything on the menu, but they make accommodations. I booked the breakfast package. Good coffee. There was some confusion about that. At this location Platinum members get free breakfast for 2 or up to 30 dollars in restaurant breakfast credit. I booked with breakfast as my son was with me. So I wanted breakfast for 3. I was short one breakfast. Spoke to the morning manager and I think it was corrected. Indigo Staff were friendly. Rooms are quiet, comfortable. Not a fan of the sliding bathroom barn door. These seem to be in many Indigos now. Free parking across the street. Lots of public transportation. Nice bar with drink specials. Good sized restaurant. This is a trendy and stylish hotel with plenty of Instagrammable seating areas in the lobby, and comfortable guest rooms/bathrooms as well. The rooms were clean and the products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion) were high quality and came in refillable bottles, thus reducing waste. I had an errand to run one morning and when I returned their restaurant had just closed. They don't have complimentary breakfast but all I really wanted was a coffee and that wasn't available either. When one of the restaurant staff saw my disappointment at missing a hot coffee, she went back and brewed a pot just for me, at no charge. I was so appreciative of her going above and beyond! I've stayed in quite a few hotels in Gainesville over the years since our daughter is there, and I do feel that many similar hotels have free coffee available in the lobby. I think that a good cup of brewed coffee would be a great addition to the overall experience...Just my opinion. Otherwise, we loved the hotel! Absolutely horrible experience, I was double charged from this hotel. They have in total taken $700 from me. For a one night stay it's $300, and I didn't even get to get my moneys worth. Try to go downstairs to the pool, and my children were attacked by hornets that are all over the pool. The biggest issue is it seems like nobody cares that they have taken an additional $400 from me, it has been over a week now and I still haven't gotten my money back on my account. Anytime I talk to anybody about this issue, they seem to brush it off like it's nothing. I have to say this was the worst IHG property I've ever stayed in. It's nearly brand new, which is what made these issues below all the more surprising: Security lock on the door was broken and useless Shower and bathroom sink wouldn't deliver hot water. Very hard to shave with tepid water Bathroom wallpaper separating No hand soap in the room. Told there was a supply order issue and was offered body wash in lieu of soap Barn door on bathroom (which in and of itself is so dumb) was very VERY difficult to open and close. If I had arthritis or was frail in size it'd have been impossible to operate it I've never stayed in a darker IHG room than this (north facing window, curtains open and lights all on). I'm still amazed how little light there was in our room, which made it very difficult to organize and find things in my suitcase Trash cans outside were absolutely overflowing with trash, and the cigarette ash trays on top were full of nicotine-saturated water Indigo hotels are some of the nicest I've stayed in within the IHG brand, but this hotel had both poor design decisions and management practices. I would not recommend staying here at all. The good: staff at bar was friendly and poured a heavy double for my travel partner, and the front desk staff was really kind and helpful. Checked into this hotel mid cross country road trip for a night to sleep before getting back on the road. It's after midnight and there is still a loud live band playing. I've tried to call the front desk multiple times with no response. It would have been nice had they given me a heads up music would be blaring above my room all night at check in. And offered me a room away from it when i attempted to call multiple times to complain and ask how late this is going for And the bedsheets smell like cigarette smoke. Wouldn't stay here again after this experience and lack of response to fix anything from the front desk staff. Definitely one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed. Inconsistent room cleaning, including none at all. No hot water for the four nights that we stayed at this hotel. Talked to the front desk and was told to let the shower run for 20 minutes in order to get hot water. We ran the shower for over 30 minutes every time and never got hot water. We also later discovered that someone was allowed to purchase market items from the front desk and they charged to our room. Upon check out, we requested to speak to the manager. We were told she wasn't available. Left our phone number and email address for her to contact us. No contact was made. Called two more times the following days and left messages, no response. We sent an email to the manager and still no response. You have many other hotel options in Gainesville Florida. Do not stay at this hotel. read more

This is a very nice, clean hotel with a personable staff who is there to help. Recently stayed at the hotel from 1/17-1/20/2024 and we thoroughly enjoyed the time there. It is well located and is a beautiful installation with a very attentive staff. The decorating is just stunning, with a beautiful "wall" of potted bromeliads and vines. Started badly when the hinge on the door of our room fell apart upon entering. The front desk, who was quite nice, said we did not have breakfast credit but, when I pressed that I was sure we had purchased the member room rate with the breakfast, she found it. Normally 18.50 a person. We assumed a buffet. We got downstairs this AM to a cold continental spread. The only worker was outside on her phone. When she came in, we inquired about the hot food. Her reply - she was the only one on, and it was easier for her to do this. The normal hot food was a bother, FOR HER. As she succinctly put it, she does not get tips. So, don't pay for the upgrade, and don't expect a hot meal. We normally stay in the Drury, and we are sorry we did not this time as there is one right down the street. This hotel has a great location with shopping, restaurants and a few bars. It is neatly designed and staff is friendly. Two stars are because during our two night stay we had no hot water at all. The air does not work very well either. The air was turned all the way down to 68 but it never reached a cold temperature. Also be aware that breakfast is not free. There is a coffee maker and mini fridge in the room but no microwave. Upon checking out I heard numerous other guest complaints about the the lack of hot water and issues with their air conditioner as well. read more

During my hotel stay the television was not functional, I was told it was weather related however the next day when it was clear and sunny it was still not working, there was not restaurant as advertised, the shower was beyond unacceptable black mold all over, there was coffee on the floor and wall, the hairdryer was broken. The staff was extremely apologetic and told me that I would receive a free nights stay anywhere and this would be provided in points. I found that to be acceptable considering the circumstances. However, today when I went to use my points I am discovering that I do not even have half the amount to cover a room for one night. I know that I'm a great worker, I have great experience and can tell there's definitely a racial issue going on here. the interviewer told me that this was a "ritsy place" which further degrades me as an African American because I didn't fit the standard. it's disgusting and it needs to change. read more

Kimberly and Jose Put the "Go" in Hotel Indigo: It's in a nice part of town and you feel safe leaving your car in a parking garage at 2am. We had no payment issues but we did pay using the IHG app and not in person. The showers were actually really great and we experienced no water pressure problems. One of the fancier set ups I've seen at a HIG property. There is a movable shower head and a big one attached to the ceiling. Price for 1 night 2 people in a double queen was about $200 and I felt that was within expectation. The girl that checked us in was kind and reassuring. We have bad pet and chemical allergies and had no flair ups during out stay (despite seeing dust in the bathroom vent). Probably the best wall art I've ever seen at a IHG location. I will try to stay at a Hotel Indigo again based on this experience. Even though we were next to buildings with bright lights The curtains kept the light out well. My only qualm was that there was no main switch for the bedroom part of our room you kinda have to fumble around till you find the lamps and hit the switch. Our room was clean and well-stocked with pillows and blankets. No noise problems we slept very soundly. Other than the outstanding great experience we got from Kimberly and Jose, the thing that really sticks out about this place is the decor and parking garage amenities. There's a keurig tucked away in the cupboard that worked well. Wish we could have stayed longer in this super neat location! read more

The money was debited from my account and the GM was too inept to figure out how to get payment from bank due to the hotel's computer system failing. Absolutely horrible experience we checked in on Tuesday the week of Christmas to take care of some business locally and to celebrate the holiday season with our family. We've had no hot water. We finally got hot water on Christmas Eve. No one's offered to compensate they were just giving us excuses as to why the water wasn't hot and to allow the water to run a very long time. Reserve through Hotwire , much cheaper ! Clean hotel, we asked for a pool view and they accommodated us. There is no room service or continental breakfast. They do have a market that you can buy little bistro boxes from. Coffee is behind the front desk and they make it for you when you ask. Very nice and spacious lobby with lots of outlets and couches to sit at and do some work. Later check out than most hotels which was nice , 12pm. Happy with the comfortable bed and clean room. I recently stayed at this location, and I can start by saying it was horrific. I experienced so much racism from front desk to the General manager. I called corporate and filed a complaint against the staff for discrimination. I am a black african american , majority of staff is spanish, latino etc. Karina Hamiltion is the General manager she is very unprofessional she stated I do not have to stay at these particular locations its several locations I can stay she went on to giving me other hotels suggest that it may be better fit for myself. I experienced embarrassment in front of other hotel guest as well. Angelina Anglero did nothing to help the situation she was very rude. Please be aware when choosing this location. I stay at so many hotels across the country. This was the first time at Indigo. Brought to us from the parent company of Holiday Inn. Don't confuse this with your Father's Holiday Inn. This is a modern trendy hotel. The rooms were very nicely appointed crisp and clean. The Bathroom was nice with a great shower. I really liked the rooms. The location is over the highway from Gainseville in a new area (to me). The bar was busy and the bartender very nice. The food selection small be interesting but only tried dessert. It was just ok at best. It was a bread pudding but needed sauce. Overall I liked the hotel and would certainly return. read more

We opted to stay at the Hotel Indigo because we had previously stayed at the Savannah, GA location a few times and had a wonderful experience, sadly not this time. We rented a room for our family of four as we were breaking up our trip from South Florida to Georgia, although many other hotels in the area, we chose Hotel Indigo based on previous good experiences. We checked in, staff was nice, and the overall experience was easy, room was clean and spacious.. our main issue is the lack of resolution on a major issue. Our first night, we went to use the shower but the water was cold, we called for service in which they advised they would look into right away, no one ever called or came to check. It was getting late and we all took super cold showers. The following morning we again noticed that nothing was done to change the temperature of the water, we called for service again to which they advised that maintenance needs to review there work orders and they'll get to it when they can. We waited, but needed to check out, so another day of extremely cold showers. I work in hospitality, and the way you respond to matters such as this is what makes the entire difference, their lack of care and lack of recovery on this matter was appalling. The two stars were given solely for ambiance and room appearance, and the fact that the surrounding area offered great options for dining. I would not recommend this location. read more

The room we stayed at there was so many hair and crumbs on the floor. The bathroom was nice and clean. We liked the rainfall shower. The air conditioner is pretty loud and every time it comes back on there were clicking noise (light sleeper) so I kept waking up to it. Friendly staffs. Great location. read more

For as new as this hotel is, it's sad to see the lack of overall teamwork when it comes to management and staff. Seems to be no passion in their work ethic. The amount of negative feedback on overall cleanliness in other reviews isn't something that should be happening to this new of a property. I stayed a night at Hotel Indigo over the July 4th weekend. Arriving to the hotel you can tell how new it is, it's in a good area within walking and driving distance to other shops and restaurants. Checking in the staff was super welcoming and friendly and advised us if our room wasn't to our satisfaction to please let them know and they would take care of it. At first sight the room looked clean until I noticed the trash can was full of trash (masks) and the fridge had someone's leftover drink in it and the floors looked like they haven't been swept or vacuumed in awhile. Since the front desk personnel seemed interested in correcting any issues, I informed them of the issues with the room and they wrote them down and then asked me what they could do?! I suggested they send someone up to take care of the trash items in the wastebasket and fridge and he said they would. Left for supper and came back 1.5 hours later and not a thing different in the room and same trash is still there. Before bed, decided to check out the sheets and was shocked to find a blood spotted mattress cover. How could anyone miss seeing this when putting new sheets on the bed?? This could be a fine hotel but it's sad that basic housekeeping is so ignored! Not sure what was meant by their COVID message about the hotel being cleaned every 5 days instead of daily. What?? Do not stay at this hotel. It is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. They are under staffed and rude. Here are just a few things that happened to us; The rooms were no clean upon arrival. It took 20 minutes to check in. My keys to the room did not work. There was one person behind the counter who answered phone calls while I waited 18 minutes just to get my keys re coded.
