Pool is heated with an outdoor fire pit for added flare. Room included big screen TV with Netflix! Beds have memory foam! Perfect to relax with the family then get a great nights rest. Best price, best atmosphere, best staff, best rest that you will find in this area of the state. Staff was extremely friendly! Rooms were very clean and the atmosphere was a great mix of retro and modern. We brought our dog and they had a great little artificial grass area for dogs to use, which can be difficult to find in the desert regions. The oatmeal and pop tart breakfast was simple but delicious and was definitely different from your normal continental breakfast. We got a day pool pass to check out Hotel McCoy. We really enjoyed the great ambiance and well decorated common areas. They have lots of games both indoors and outdoors which we enjoyed too. I'd go back here for a chill pool afternoon but not for a pool party atmosphere. It's hard to get drink's because you have to get out of the pool and walk all the way into the front desk area to order. Very clean with lots of chairs not a whole lot of shade though if you aren't in the covered area. The pool was nice with lots of built in seating in the pool to sit and chat. read more

This place is just awesome. From the large selection of beer and wine local to Tucson to the small details in the rooms like chalk boards and retro-style fridge in every room, I truly have nothing bad to say about Hotel McCoy. The hotel itself is a cinder block hotel built in the 1960's that was purchased and renovated a few years ago. When you arrive there is a 60's era arch that acts as a breezeway between the hotel area and the main road. The arch also contains the lobby, bar, gift shop, and dinning area on one side and a coin-op laundry, workout facility, and ice machine on the other. The staff that checked me in were very informative and very helpful. When you check in you get a poker chip which acts as a free drink token at the hotel bar, which is very nice as it is open until midnight every night and the alcohol served from it can be taken anywhere on the property, including the small island table in the pool. Breakfast is free and includes your choose of oatmeal with basically any combination of toppings you can think of, or pop-tarts with beverages offered bring milk, juice, and locally roasted coffee. I highly recommend this hotel to any who travel to Tucson. The price was decent for my 2 day trip and the accommodations were wonderful. Should I happen to be in Tucson again in the future, I will definitely look into staying again. read more

Hotel McCoy is an amazing vintage / retro spot in Tucson not only to spend the night but also to chill out with friends at their pool and bar. They have awesome murals and art displays that are really worth checking out! The staff was always kind and happy to help us find cool activities to do in town which is something I really appreciate since I'm not from the US. Being right next to the freeways is a plus too! It's easy to get there and to the other cool spots in Tucson!! The University of Arizona and the 4th Avenue (with all the bars, shops, bookstores, etc.) are only 10 minutes away by car! My mom and I loved our stay here. The staff was more than welcoming, easy to contact, and the free drink tickets were a nice bonus. The hotel was clean and they took many precautions related to COVID-19 safety that made us feel safe staying there. Our dog was very relaxed here and the nearby nature trail was perfect for walking him. The build-your-own oatmeal bar, fruit, and coffee breakfast was ordered via email and delivered to the room to ensure food was safely provided to guests and was by far the best breakfast on our road trip. What a gem of a motel! My three teens said they would actually drive all the way back just to hang out here. We got two rooms, and spent most of our time playing board games, ping pong and pinball drinking their great local beer and Jones soda. Loved all the art everywhere, the beds were super comfortable and the staff was the bomb! We will always stay here when we come into town to watch the Sundevils beat the Wildcats! Best place to stay in Tucson. Booked our room 5 minutes before showed up after the original hotel that we booked was horrible. We were greeted by a friendly, funny staff member who went over everything with us. We went to our spotless and super cute poetry room and settled in then headed to the lobby bar for our free drink! We stumbled on Hotel Mccoy after having to leave an airbnb we originally had booked for the night that was unclean. Hotel Mccoy was extremely clean, hospitable and unique. We really enjoyed this place and will definitely be coming back. The funky vibes made it a fun experience from the old vintage games in the lobby, the art and murals and amenities. The pool area had a live dj, a nice area with lawn games and a local bar inside. We even got a free drink each for being first time guest ! The complimentary room service breakfast was unexpected and just what we needed. Oatmeal made your way, pop tarts, coffee and tea all complimentary! The staff was friendly and helpful and they even had a book store on site as well as a little shop. Very cool experience! read more

A unique small motel near an industrial area. Not much to do outside of the hotel, but you can play games and swim if you like. They also have a small bar onsite. They give you a free token for a free drink when you check in. The room is pretty small and a bit humid, but affordable. read more

It is a great, cool place to stay and my only regret was not having more than one night to enjoy the recently refurbished hotel. A 50's motel renovated and charming, one of a kind. The rooms are petite but decorated nicely with a huge TV and too many channels to count. The artwork and whimsical nature of the place is everywhere and you can't help smiling when you walk around. There's a nice pool and a bar in the lobby area for take out only and they give you a few free tokens to try some local beer.. They are dog friendly and don't charge a fee, a rarity these days. The staff is friendly and professional. Over the top cleanliness in the rooms lobby and parking area. It was quite at night and we slept soundly. This motel is Fun with a capital F. There are some minor inconveniences however. Only one end table near the bed. If there's two of you one person needs to figure out what to do with their phone drink food or whatever else you need to keep close. There is a nice desk but I'd personally trade it for a bedside table. Maybe a fold up desk? The retro refrigerator is cool but a little noisey at night. Same with the heat and ac unit but they are new and work great. There is no coffee maker or microwave. There were no glasses plastic or otherwise to drink from or use to brush teeth. We went to the bar for one. These are minor inconveniences, this lovely motel will be on our must stay list when traveling through Tucson. read more

I stayed here three weekends ago, late night check in. I walk in with my partner in crime and we have two beds. So insight, my partner is 6"4 and a bed for him on travel is hard to find. Walking in and seeing him walk towards the edge of the bed, sat down, and looking him with what almost look like tears in his eyes. Looks at me and says. I fit. It's the little things that people appreciate. This hotel paid attention to the needs of people, access to a clean comfortable environment. The art that was in the room was entertaining taking topics, very cool. Then we dozed off into dream land as the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. Of course we did cardio before that... But the next morning I woke up and went to the front office which doubles as a bar and just a cool little area. I was definitely in the cool room. I look and they have this lay out that any serious health nut would have enjoyed. Oatmeal with toppings that just was fancy as fuck. Free!!! Juices, coffee and tea!!!!! The morning crew, beautiful. Who's that fucking beautiful at the butt crack of dawn??? I went back and sat down to enjoy my breakfast and thought, b I'm gonna be sore in the morning. I would have got mystery man food, but I don't know him that well to give him oatmeal. Plus it was about me. I plan on going back because it's just a cool place, to hang and to lay your head to sleep. Bravo to the GM, you got great style and even greater customer service. read more

I wish there were more stars I could give this place! Definitely where the cool people should stay, just saying. Our main reason for staying here was the complete observance of COVID protocols and safety precautions. We felt extremely safe during our stay! Upon arrival, we checked in from our car and all staff were wearing masks. I'm a purple haired hippy dippy, so I loved seeing a staff who also had wacky hair and style. Obviously we ended up in the right place. We were given complimentary drinks and great recommendations for dinner! Thank you to Christopher and the sweet purple haired sister who brought us our breakfast this morning. The hotel has a menu of local restaurants with safe practices that are able to be delivered to you (after a 12 hour drive from Austin, this was a major perk). Everything about this place is cool and kitchy. Our room was extremely clean and spacious with an adorable mini fridge, great decor, I never wanted to leave! Oh! And we had complimentary breakfast/coffee brought right to our door safely. Finally, the art around this property is truly inspiring. All done by local artisans makes it even more special! This hotel is so committed to the community of Tucson and I'm so appreciative for such a wonderful stay. We will be back! read more

We stayed here for just one night on our way through town and let me tell you, I wish we stayed longer! Great location right off the highway, but not your "typical" roadside motel. Delightfully renovated and curated with a ton of local flavor (local artwork everywhere you can buy, a small bookstore owned by locals, served all local beer, wine and coffee). Staff was extremely nice, fun little bar to get some drinks at along with a common area with lots of tables and games to play. Pool area looked great, and rooms were clean and comfortable. (Honestly my only complaint that isn't an easily fixable thing is the location of the AC unit makes it hard for the little guy to cool the entire room, but it's also summer!). Their complimentary breakfast was super cute and if you're an oatmeal fan like me, they have a BUNCH of different toppings to choose from. It was a great stay and I wish there were more of these around for our road trips with our dogs! Oh, it's also super pet friendly. Thank you!! read more

I really wanted to give this place a better score. The staff is really nice and the place is very cool. The art around the property and in the rooms is eclectic and fun. The rooms are nice but the AC sucks. When we walked we we figured we would just turn the temp down and it would cool off while we were out but it didn't. When we got back they told us we couldn't turn it any lower than 71 and they gave us a fan to help the room didn't cool down until about 4:30 in the morning. Was a miserable nights sleep. And the coins for drinks are only for certain drinks not just anything. Was really disappointed. read more

I wasn't sure what to think of this place from the pictures, but we decided to do it because, "Why not?" Not only no regrets but I'll stay here every time we are in the area! So unique. From the person at the front desk who greeted us and checked us in, to the room and all around it was a joy. You have to walk it all. The whole place is licensed as a bar, so you can get a drink and carry it all around the property while you explore. Even the parking spaces are "named." (Ours was, "Hey Dude.") Was a little thrown off at first due to the area and that it was a renovated motel but not they've done such a beautiful job. From the staff to the set work, it didn't get any better!! The pool area was so cute. I love that they have bags and ping pong. My friend and I had so much fun!!! Only "negative" thing I'd have to say is the breakfast options are not very good as it's all oatmeal but if that's your thing don't worry because they have all the toppings to start your day off right. The staff was very friendly but their policies were ridiculous. I arrived at about noon to pick my sister up at the airport, and her flight was delayed nearly 4 hours. The temperatures that day were over 110°, and they would not allow me to check in because the reservation was under my sister's name. Finally I told them that I would get a hotel elsewhere if I could not get in the room. They allowed me in the room only if I put the charge on my bank card. I did that and once I got to the room it was nearly 4:00 p.m. and the room was not made. Upon check out, I asked if we could do a late check out because again we would have to be out in the heat, and I was told to check out was at noon and every hour after that was $40. I checked on that again after arriving home and we could have actually stayed an extra hour for free and then $50 per hour thereafter. Consequently, I have suffered heat stroke and am now at home in bed recovering from my trip to Tucson and my stay at hotel McCoy. I would not recommend hotel McCoy, their friendly staff just isn't enough. read more

I arrived very tired and road weary to a room that was close to 90 degrees and had difficulty gettin the A set with the the little remote thing...then the tv would not work then I could not locate an internet password. The office sent someone down to deal with the tv and that did not help. I stopped by the office on my way out to find someplace where I could watch the news...and complained again. When I returned I had an email offering me a change to an upgraded room. I thought that very kind of them. Instead I asked fir a room where things worked ...am all is well at this little hotel that I remember (different name and owner) from 30 years ago! read more

The room was dirty. Our feet were black by the first night, we had to rinse out the tub prior to using it and the shampoo and shower gel bottles were covered with the product, God knows what else. We smoked off-property, which was fine. But rather than littering, we brought our cigarette butts back to the room to dispose of. For this respect, we were charged an additional $200.00. When disputing the charge, were told, "Go ahead and fight it. You'll lose." read more
