Most stunning hotel. Cozy rooms and was very quiet. The staff was very hopeful. I love the intimate smaller nature of this hotel. The restaurant and bar were also very good.

For reference, this is the bed frame I cracked my knee on.

I wanted to love this hotel so very much. The check-in process was prompt and easy, however not entirely warm and welcoming. We entered the room to an incredibly cute room. There was one small light in a nightstand to illuminate the whole bedroom area, which was odd, but not very off putting because we arrived so late and just wanted to go to bed. The bed was hands down the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. The bed is a horrible design for an oddly shaped and small room like this. As I rose from The bed in the morning to go to the bathroom, I cracked my knee so hard on the outer edge of the bed frame. I felt as though a chunk of bone had dislodged from my leg. I called the front desk to see if I could have a 30 minute later check out so I could hobble around and back my bag, but they firmly said no. Between the bed conditions and the frame of the bed, I feel like I've been beaten with sticks. Conclusion: this place is so cute and cozy, but if you like a bed that is comfortable, don't stay here.

Are you a design buff? Do tasteful historic restorations wake you up in the morning? Is #archporn your preferred hashtag? If so, this place is for you! (And even if you're not this place is probably still for you)! Spanning four properties, this historic gem seems to be ripped straight from the pages of a storybook...or maybe arch digest! What was it before?- What is it now?- custom rooms (each shown online if youre aiming for a specific room, tastefully restored, boasting the most beautiful showers you've ever seen! Artful shared spaces for like minds to connect, a restaurant and bar serving a variety of options day and night, a cathedral primed for weddings and yoga alike, a shop (because why not), and much more to explore. There's a steamer in room...and my excitement at this fact alone reminds me that I'm firmly and undoubtedly an adult. Weddings, yoga, Elysian bar, parking, and a location in a walkable fairly central part of the city-it's a win for me. Peter and Paul, if you ever decide to sell, give me a call, I'll be your buyer!

I use to come to Nawlins for work but would always stay in Downtown. This was one of my first leisure trips to the city with my partner to have some fun. We choose Peter & Paul because of its location and esthetics. I'm a designer and visuals do a lot for me as well as architecture. The hotel used to be a school and church and has been repurposed wonderfully. You have the main building which is in the school building which hosts the main lobby, a water station, lounge area and rooms. The building hosts a bar, cafe, restaurant and rooms. Bar was my favorite part as I was there cooling down with drinks constantly. Bartenders were friendly and cool. The next building is the actual church which now hosts events and Yoga and pilates and lastly the small building at the end has a small shop with nice jewelry, clothes, and other miscellaneous nic nacs. The location is nice very close to Frenchman, close to several eateries, drug stores as well as light rail stops. We will most definitely be back.

Stoping at Elysian Bar for cocktails. So glad we did. Good cocktails and delicious appetizers. The Hotel, Restaurant and bar is a former church, convent and rectory. It's beautiful! The integrity of architecture is in place inside and out. The design and style for bar, restaurant is very pleasing. Done is absolute good taste. It's another must stop.

I wasn't the biggest fan of The Elysian Bar, but I'm a huge fan of this hotel! If looking for an immaculate and extremely comfortable experience, look no further! I found the hotel to be just as "plush", "warm" and "inviting" as Maison La Luz, but literally half the price and in a better neighborhood. The bed and linen choices? Astounding.

Just spent a week here and it is first rate. Unique buildings and rooms, friendly staff, great value, walking distance to many places including Frenchman Street. Three good breakfast places that are very close with an on site coffee cafe, bar and restaurant. Other restaurants are further afield but also within walking distance. Uber can take you anywhere of course. The only negative I can fathom is that the coffee cafe does not open till 7am so if you want coffee before that, you will have to walk a few hundred yards to "Who Dat" coffee cafe which is open five days a week and opens at 6:30am. Will definitely stay there again.

SERVICE: 5 AESTHETICS: 5 NOISE LEVEL: 5 OVERALL EXPERIENCE: 5 This remodeled church, into a hotel, is amazing. The service was superb, rooms large, and it's not in the middle of the mess with huge crowds and lots of noise. This hotel isn't far from the party. We walked everywhere while we were in New Orleans. If you're visiting, and want a hotel that doesn't break the bank, but is within walking distance of the all the excitement then don't hesitate to book here. My last visits I stayed on bourbon street, and it was a nightmare. Was loud, with tiny rooms, and overpriced to say the least. We don't visit often, but when we do this will be our new go to hotel.

I just checked into this hotel on Sunday, and it was beautiful. It's about a 1.2 miles walk from the French Quarter. When you walk in lot the hotel it smells wonderful and the property is extremely clean, internal and external. Justin, Jenny, Jamal were so professional and customer service oriented. The staff was personable and friendly. They took their time to tell the lay of the land. While we were checking in with Jenny, Justin was taking our luggage to our room. Jenny was so pleasant and made the check-in process seamless. I spoke to Jamal on the phone and he was so courteous with answering my questions. When it was time to check out, Justin secured our luggage so we could grab breakfast before leaving. We were able to walk to and from the French Quarter, passing the Frenchmen's market and river walk. I highly recommend this hotel. Loved the staff, the room and the neighborhood!! I can't wait to return.

The best boutique hotel I've ever been to and it's located about an 8 minute walk from the French quarter. The hotel is a treat and I loved every moment and the attention to detail as it pertains to the decor. The staff was great (extra shout out to Justin, who was OUTSTANDING)! The great service started before arrival where they confirm your visit and inquire as to any accommodations and perks you may want for your room. The room was clean, bright and beautifully decorated. You've got to see it to believe it. They also have a restaurant called the Elysian bar (please refer to my review for my experience) and food and drink offers were nice. The third part of the building is where yoga, live music and festivities for guests occur. My visit and experience was exceptional. I got all the rest and relaxation I needed in addition to great food options. I look forward to staying here again. Enjoy!

One of my favorite moments was chatting with a gentleman in the lobby who helped with our luggage. We mentioned we were visiting from Pennsylvania, and he shared that his very first job was in Pennsylvania and actually knew our area. It was one of those authentic conversations that makes you feel more like a guest than just another room number. Our room in the older section was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. Housekeeping and the nightly turndown service were exceptional. We also spent plenty of time at the pool, where the staff and bartender were fantastic. The drinks were great, the food hit the spot, and the Fourth of July pop-up DJ made for a really fun afternoon. The service was so personal that one of the bartenders recognized us by name when we ran into her on the street a few days later. The only miss during our stay was the famous Carousel Bar. We never managed to get seats at the actual carousel during our four nights--which is understandable given how popular it is and being the 4th of July weekend. We did sit just behind it. Unfortunately, the service there was noticeably unfriendly and felt completely out of step with the incredible hospitality we experienced everywhere else in the hotel. That one experience wasn't enough to overshadow an otherwise outstanding stay. Between the beautiful historic décor, unbeatable French Quarter location, easy access to everything, and a staff that truly cares about its guests, Hotel Monteleone absolutely lived up to the hype. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Front desk staff was AWESOME, so kind and quick to help us. However, after we asked to cancel our stay and went back up to the room to get our bags and leave, one of the hotel housekeepers decided to come up to our room and "confront us". The 2 things I care most about when staying in a hotel is a comfortable night's rest and a good bathroom/shower. The bed in our room was the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on in my entire life. It was so mushy that when you laid your head down, you sunk so far into it that your legs were literally 45 degrees above your head. I ended up sleeping upside down in the bed with my head where your feet go in order to feel even remotely comfortable. The pillows were all extremely flat, when you put your head on one it sank so far your face was about 1/2 inch from the mattress. I had to use 3 pillows stacked on each other. I had a stiff back, neck and joints the entire time we were there. The 2nd issue was hot water. The first morning, we attempted to shower, it only got barely luke warm for me and when my husband showered immediately after he only got ice cold water. We stopped at the front desk that morning on our way out for the day and told the woman at the front desk. She said she hadn't received any other complaints so it must be specific to our room and she would send engineering there to look at it. (we were getting hot water in the sink). Later that evening when we returned to our room, we immediately tested the shower again and it was still ice cold. So we went back to the front desk to check if engineering had come. We spoke to the same woman from the morning who acted like it was the first time we were telling her this and she said the exact same thing. I asked if they were going to come ASAP because we needed to shower soon and we couldn't take ice cold showers. She ignored my question and answered the ringing phone. A manager happened to be at the desk and overheard our conversation. He asked what our room number was and said that because of the old building and the pipes the hot water takes longer to get there. He said this was a KNOWN Issue by the staff, management and the owner. He told us to run the shower for AT LEAST 15 to 20 minutes, simultaneously with the sink and it should get hot. He also offered to move us to a different room but when I asked if he could guarantee if we wouldn't have the same problem in that room he couldn't give me a straight answer. We had already unpacked everything and didn't want to go through that hassle without a guarantee. So we went back to the room and let it run for 20 minutes and it eventually got hot. So for the remaining 3 mornings, we had to set our alarms for 30 minutes earlier so we could get up and run our shower before hand. For nearly $300 a night, we felt that this was ridiculous. Old building or not, if its a problem, then either don't put people in those rooms, or get it fixed somehow. Why should anyone be subjected to an ice old shower or an inconvenience to their time because the owner hasn't done anything about it? We visited the hotel Bar, the Bourbon O'bar 3 times during our stay and each time we received TERRIBLE service. None of the bartenders were friendly to us, in fact they were pretty rude. Each time it took them at least 10 minutes to even take our order (by standing there and looking at us and not saying anything). The bar was not busy or crowded any of these times. They would then start making one of our drinks, put it down and make other people's drinks, leave and go into a back room, play on their cell phone, talk to each other, or carry the glass around while doing other things. My husband ordered an old fashioned and the alcohol was sitting in the jar with the ice for over 5 minutes while the bartender carried it around doing other things, causing it to get watered down. When making a cocktail, it should be completed from start to finish without doing other things in the middle. I ordered the Mardi Drop cocktail on 2 different days. The first time, it was actually very good. The 2nd time from a different bartender it was horrible .He also sprinkled probably a tablespoon of cinnamon on top of it (which the first didn't have) which made it nearly undrinkable. I had to stir it into the martini in order to not get a mouthful of cinnamon with each sip. We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant Roux because of the bad Yelp reviews - we felt we could get a better breakfast elsewhere outside the hotel. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all unless you don't care about being comfortable or friendly service.

Just be prepared for the wall of noise if you're staying on a Friday and Saturday night and have a room facing Bourbon Street; you will need more than the sound machine and earplugs the hotel provides you. But if you're there to party hard on Bourbon Street at all the touristy bars, then you will be in your element. Depending on the side of the hotel you select when booking your room and the days you choose, you may be able to get away with just a sound machine and earplugs, or you may be getting too old and need to look elsewhere. If you stay on the courtyard side, you should have enough barriers to deflect the nonstop barrage of noise coming from all the bars and clubs on Bourbon Street, especially between Bienville and St. Ann, on a Friday and Saturday night particularly. We had a room on the third floor with a balcony overlooking Bourbon Street that gave us a great view and the opportunity to enjoy wine and cocktails as the festivities picked up steam throughout the afternoons of our stay. The bed was wicked comfortable. The set of drawers had plenty of space to put clothes with a small fridge for keeping drinks cool and leftovers from spoiling. The closet space was ample and was able to fit all of our hang-up clothing and our suitcases. There was a nice lounge chair next to the desk to chill if you didn't want to sit on the balcony. However, the bathroom was cramped and narrow with these weird double doors that could cause trouble if you are going to do business in the middle of the night. The water pressure wasn't great either and if you don't have the curtain positioned right then you're going to have a puddle. Housekeeping did come by to change our linens and provide fresh towels every day, which was appreciated. The front desk was very affable and accommodating, especially with holding out luggage when our room wasn't quite ready yet to check-in. And I liked that there was a security person checking people that were actually staying at the hotel to avoid stragglers, random drunks, and transients from entering. I didn't have the chance to use the pool while I was there, but we were busy walking around the French Quarter to really care. Same went with having anything in the restaurant for food. They did have the little mini mart on the ground floor that worked for when we needed more bottles of water that were larger than the complimentary ones. Accommodations at the hotel were solid, but just know if you stay here, you're experiencing the full Bourbon Street treatment. It is always loud at night, especially, on the weekends.

As an historic building, the architecture and aesthetic is much closer to "elegant old New Orleans" than, say, the Four Seasons (very very modern, almost cold presentation) or, for example, the Royal Sonesta which is smack dab in the middle of the crazy. When we come back to NOLA, it will be to the Ritz Carlton.

I had just had the most horrendous experience at a…read moreterrible place in Wisconsin so I was still shaken my experience flying over to New Orleans. But the staff at the Ritz were the most hospitable and welcoming set of people I have ever met. The concierge sent me texts and welcomed any requests I had. And the wonderful staff left a sweet treat in my room for my birthday. There was coffee served in the lobby every morning, and warm beignets served in the afternoons. I can't wait to come back to this gem! Thank you all for such a wonderful and much needed experience!
