There are plenty of cardio equipment options and weights. Staff is nice and helpful in answering questions I had about my membership. The parking lot is small and can be chaotic with the shopping center and Dixie Queen traffic. The gym is easy to spot from the street, I'm not sure about security guards or if there is any security services for the gym/shopping center. For the most part I would visit for convenience since it is closer. With the black card there is a limit on how many times you can " visit" another gym outside of your home gym and the limit is 10/month from what I was told here. But if you have questions about the black card perks definitely speak to one of the representatives for more accurate information.

They have gear for everyone, except the hardcore powerlifter (meaning no 100 lb plates, jack racks, platforms, bar jack for deadlift loading, competition bench, or chalk stand.) They DO have squat racks, Smith machines, flat and incline benches, a range of dumbbells up to 140 lbs, and an array of basic HammerStrength machines. The bonus for me is that they have FreeMotion machines, which are the bomb for plane-and-range-of-motion training. They've also got assorted tubing, medicine and stability balls, and Bosus. In case someone from DAC reads this, it would be super-cool if you could install a TRX rack or two. Approximately half the work-out space is devoted to cardio machines, and there's an upstairs where classes are held. I always thought DAC was great for families. It's located at Cox Park where the baseball and soccer fields are. So, it's convenient if the family is involved in those activities as well. However, they do not have a pool; nor do they have a sauna, steam or whirlpool. No big deal for me, but some people demand those things.

If they are always asking for money, then either your Church Health is bad, or your Church Head is greedy. Or both. One of the better YMCA facilities I have found anywhere in the country with a shiny brand-new locker room and a lot of really shiny brand new things. They have cool combination lock concepts and it is actually very easy to use, and there are about 7,000 sets of instructions posted all over the locker room just in case you forget the very simple straightforward way of locking it up - as opposed to Louisville where they have lockers that basically just lock your stuff away and never give them back until you call the manager to come and let you in. Anyway I was happy that they had a cable machine even though it wasn't the best one. There is no chest exercise machine but they had a little bit of everything else and even though they're using a cheaper not-so-great company to provide the equipment it hardly ever gets used to it's all in very good working condition for the most part. The weights are the kind that I don't really like but at least nobody is hardly ever using them, and they're in front of the mirror and they have a few benches here so I'd say the gym has done pretty well for itself. I think it's a fantastic facility that just needs some more people to come and join to keep it going and justify all the good stuff they have here. One of the thing that it needs though is better parking. It's so hard to find parking out here, and then a long walk to the door and up the steps to get into the facility. Better to use the elevator if you're carrying a lot or not great at walking. It also has ridiculously friendly employees and I really appreciate that. They were extremely nice to me and I would definitely come back and use this particular YMCA in future especially considering that parking is free here if you can actually find it, whereas it's expensive downtown. Somewhere between 4 and 5, but I'll go with 5 because they're so nice and more people should be members.
