Was never so disappointed in a meal as I was this evening. I have always enjoyed the happy hour menu and adult beverages at Houlihan's, so this time we tried dinner, for KC Restaurant Week, and ate off the RW menu. My friend ordered the steak and it was perfect. I ordered steak enchiladas, and it was thoroughly disgusting. It stated "house made enchilada sauce", so was hoping to be bowled over, but they were itty bites of steak, spaced sparingly in a doughy mess, no cheese, and a very icky sauce. It was accompanied by "street corn" which was basically corn sprinkled with paprika, and a rubbery pepper skin, stuffed with nacho cheese and a few wads of sausage...ugh. I have never been so disappointed in an entree. On a better note, the appetizers (spicy ckn and avocado egg rolls, and avocado toast with cheese) were on point, and very well presented. And the desserts were awesome. I had the Pots de Creme, and my friend had brownie cake with fudge topping that was very chocolaty. Next time, we will just stick to appetizers, I think. Good beverages too. And the service was good. But alas...mental note: do not order Mexican food from an American food establishment. read more

Went here tonight to celebrate my birthday. I really like Houlihan's, hubby doesn't like it as much as I do. I like the varied drink menu, the service is always good, and the food is excellent. I again got my usual Steak and Wedge Salad and Cream Brulee for dessert. I am a creature of habit and Houlihan's has this wonderful salad and desert that I really like. No complaints on the food, no complaints on the service, and I will be going back. I just like this place for a nice dinner out in a trendy environment that makes me feel young. read more

Went for happy hour at 315 sat at the bar the bartender said I'll be with you in a minute didn't give us water or menus proceeded to wait on a large party and 4 other tables 1 which sat after we arrived. Once behind the bar I had to ask for menus and drinks while she got orders for the other tables. Still no drinks she severed drinks to all the others again waited while she was getting drinks for others asked again placed our order. A lady from the patio asked for a drink she told her she was busy and couldn't do it right now. I've worked restaurants she just can't multitask. We had to ask for refills she continued to serve others. I asked again for our 2 drinks she gave me one confirmed the second drink then took orders for 2 tables came back got their drink and served them. I had to ask a third time for a beer. The bartender spilled water when serving the table behind me never cleaned it up. Never took our empty plates until pushed to toward the bar. I had to ask for a box and our ticket she over charged said it was a mistake took probably 10 minutes to get a box. I'm a great tipper I didn't tip well and I feel that was to much. I use to be a regular there but since last fall I have stopped going there due to horrible service and food is hit and miss on quality. She wasn't friendly from the time we sat down. She left other patrons (who she also overcharged and they brought it to her attention) dirty plates at the bar once they left for probably 30 minutes they were still there when we left. She was not that busy and if she needed help she should have asked her manager. I never post reviews but it's horrible to got out and end up irritated because I could have had better at home or even some fast food restaurants. read more

Houlihan's has one of the best happy hours available. During happy hour the appetizers are cheap and so are the drinks. If you go on Tuesday, I think it is, all bottles of wine are 50% off. If you can't drink the whole thing, which I don't know why you wouldn't ;) , they can seal it up and bag it so you can have it. The chicken had tones of citrus and garlic with herbs it was very tasty. Unfortunately, the pasta it was not fresh. It's seem to be a little bit on the underdone side. Their parking lot is ALWAYS packed, but I found a spot around the back of the small strip center. We loved the appetizer of artichoke dip with really huge pita pieces, it looked like a pizza and would make a great dinner in my opinion! Rhett was super attentive, and checked on us frequently...and NO, we are not young, cute girls! OK, we're cute but not young. We don't live close to Houlihan's so when we when we do go there it's always a planned outing. We have absolutely loved this restaurant in the past. In February we were there and the food was outstanding. Last night we were there and the food was HORRIBLE, totally horrible. We both got the stuffed chicken because we both enjoyed it for our dinners on previous outings. Good grief ... you had to saw them. They were tasteless, dry and severely overcooked. I ordered the baked potato which was ok but not as hot as it usually is but still ok. I ordered the brussle sprouts for the 1st time. I've never had them before and I wanted to try something different. YUCK!!! 3 little chunks of brussle sprouts swimming in a bed of COLD greasy goo that was absolutely freezer cold in some areas. My husband didn't have any better luck with the green beans. OH ... and just WHAT have they done to their side salads. They use to be delicious. Last night we felt like we were eating hay with a couple of tomatoes thrown on it. No variety whatsoever. We are (were) fans of Houlihan's ranch dressing. What have they done to it!!!! It was sweet ... I hated it. We left most of our dinner AND salads for the demolition crew with the vow we won't go back. OH ... and the place wasn't busy. That's what floored us! We enjoy the food at this Houlihan's and the service is usually pretty good. My go to is the Heartland Chicken Salad, which is why I noticed this time the portion was about half the size. My husband usually gets the meatloaf, their cheeseburgers are really good and the spicey cauliflower has become my new favorite. My one word of advice is you need to watch your bill. More than once we have been charged full price for an appetizer during happy hour. One time we had the regular server in the bar area tell us both sizes of the LIT's are the same price because the smaller size has the same amount of alcohol just less triple sec. The next time we came in for happy hour we had a different server, the smaller size was $3 while the pitcher was $5, as advertised. read more

We were there last month for a girls night out. It was my first time there and it is safe to say I'm not in a rush to go back. I was not impressed with a 30 min wait and while I'm waiting there are empty tables galore. Management told us that the kitchen cannot keep up with the dining room and so they cannot seat until they are caught up. Once we were seated, one of the items ordered off the menu was out but no one bothered to tell us until after we ordered and had been waiting for 15 min.
