The food was great, but that wasn't the best part. I didn't catch his name, but our server was wonderful. He was attentive, but not annoying. This place is very convenient, especially if you are staying at the Holiday Inn. First I'd like to mention their menu. It seems nice, it looks likes they have a wide range of gluten free options. The thing is gluten free can mean two different things. 1) Gluten free for someone going on a diet where they don't eat wheat, barley or rye. 2) Someone who is celiac, this means they can get very sick from as much as a grain of flour. On the menu they stated that fried side dishes were gluten free. When they are cooked with floured dishes. Stating that something is gluten free when it has been contaminated by gluten is wrong. This could make someone seriously sick. I would really recommend learning more about food allergies and knowing how to keep your customers safe. This place is BAD!!!!! Temperature of the restaurant was very hot. Too uncomfortable to eat. I had a few beers and and the chicken lettuce wonton wrappers. Way to salty to eat. The bartender asked if I wanted more lettuce to wrap the chicken in. I told him no it's to salty. Management did not comp any portion of the appetizer. I ordered the chicken sweet potato. Talk about greasy!!! They sprinkle beacon on it. I think they drained the grease trap on on it. Went there for just an appetizer and our nachos sat under the food warmer for almost 10 minutes while the waitress was in the kitchen eating and watching tv. It then took 15-20 minutes to get our check and cash out. read more

Even though this is a chain restaurant it is one of our favorite places to eat in Manhattan. The food is consistently good and the wait staff is excellent. They now have small plates that are just right for the smaller appetite or if you want to try several items. The mini desserts have always been a hit too. The lettuce wraps are a great appetizer. The chop salad and the tuscan bean salad are wonderful. We highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I've been to this Houlihan's countless times and It never disappoints. Food is great and fresh I hear the only use fresh ingredients Which is a major bonus. The service was fun, it felt like our server was having fun and enjoying themselves as well. I love this restaurant! Everything I have ever ordered there is delish and the service is always top notch! Their spinich dip is to die for and their steaks are wonderful! The menu has something for everyone. It does get VERY loud during peak hours, especially on the weekends and be prepared to wait for a seat. Always worth it though. read more

My favorite sit down restaurant in town. I used to work at the Holiday Inn attached, and frequented the kitchen. I learned something - everything is made from scratch and is fresh. This is what makes it my favorite place to eat in town. They also have decent specials often if you sign up for their mailing list. Have been to Houlihans several times lately and had a good experience every time! We had a gift certificate and a coupon they had sent which they graciously took care of when paying. Absolutely awful experience. Had reservations at 5:30 and was not able to walk out until 8. I was with a party of 12 and none of us received our entree for close to an 1 hour and 15 minutes and the final member of the party did not get their meal until 2 hours had past. I ordered a filet mignon and it was served cold and over cooked. The waiter was polite and appeared to be working hard, so I assume the issues were due to a large group disfunction. read more

I am in town for an Equine Class on Sat morning. I am staying at the Holiday Inn that has this restaurant attached. I must say my experience was great from the beginning. The hostess sat me in a nice booth instead of at the bar seeing I was dining alone. She was very attentive. My server Dillion was the best. He wasted no time getting to my table, introduced himself. Brought me water right away and took my drink order. Answered my questions about the menu. Brought my drink order, appetizer, salad then main course in a way where I did not feel rushed. I had the artichoke poppers which are absolutely amazing. The plate looked really appetizing when brought out. I had the 4 oz fillet. It was cooked perfectly. There was a sauce served with that was very good. I had asparagus for a side that was not over cooked. Every thing came out hot. The side salad had real blue cheese on it. I had the blue cheese dressing which was good. The mini martini flight was perfect. Just the right size and not over priced. When Dillion brought out the flight he told me which one was which. He did not rush me through my meal. Asked how every thing was and was very attentive. Cleared away dirty dishes right away asked if I wanted dessert. He was even so nice to ask another employee for directions to where I needed to be on campus in the morning. I will be back again. This is a great place to eat. I have never had a pleasant experience here. Service has always been awful. I have been here a few times with larger parties where it took literally 45 minutes for checks to be dealt with...ridiculous. The manager here was sitting around not helping any of the staff with the checks either. The service here is awful. read more

Being from the east coast where there are plenty of great restaurants, it has been tough finding somewhat decent food around here. But this place was a definite step up. Not top notch but pretty good. Lots of choices including healthy options. If you've had enough of the fast food chains and pizza places then this place will fit the bill. read more

The food was pretty good, we got the pot roast and stuffed chicken. The service was mediocre, our server acted as though we were an inconvenience or as he was uninterested. We had an ant in one of our drinks then when I went up to the bartender (because we never saw our server) we over heard management LOUDLY cursing and speaking inappropriately in ear shot of guests. If you want a good meal I would suggest it-if you want good service I would suggest McDonald's. Disappointed because I've heard such good things. read more

Went to dinner with my girlfriend. I ordered chicken pasta, she ordered the stuffed chicken pasta. Both of our food came out and my pasta was way undercooked. I told the server he took my plate and they made a new one. The new one came out and it was better but still slightly undercooked. I decided to eat it as my girlfriend had already finished her dinner. The manager came out apologized but instead of offering something he tried to up sell me on a bottle of wine for the next visit. It took a while for the second pasta to come out. The check came and we had a coupon to safe $15.00 off our food. The server acknowledge it. He ran our credit card and we noticed he forgot to take off the $15.00. Needless to say this was my first visit and probably will be the last. I have eaten here numerous times. The food is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is great. The server we had was very friendly. He kept our waters filled which is very important to us. Although it was very busy, he was very attentive and made sure we were taken care of. They have added some new items on menu which we were excited about. I had not been to Manhattan for several years and this was the restaurant we chose for an 8 group gathering. The food was excellent but the service stunk. I personally think that part of the service issue was that one person took our orders and the check and two others in-between delivered drinks and food. Sooo the initial server never knew if something was wrong because she never came back until later. Otherwise this would have bee a 5 star review. Was seated and noone waited on me for 15 minutes. There were 4 other tables so its not as if they were swamped. I frequently visit Houlihans and have consistently been impressed with the food and service. Today I ordered the stuffed chicken breast (which is always incredible), and a small mishap occurred in the kitchen. The manager came to us directly, apologized for the delay as my meal was being cooked again, and provided a very reasonable solution. Small things like these make a big difference when dining, and we were very thankful for this. It would've been just as easy for them to serve a slightly overcooked entrée, but they took the time to ensure an excellent dining experience. We are looking forward to our next trip to Houlihans! read more

Food is very good,if you go during peak hours,or early. We've gone a few times closer to 9 and we've had burnt food & Bad service.
