Houlihan's is a staple on my list of go-to places in Manhattan. Love the modern chic but comfy atmosphere. The waitstaff is always very friendly and even when they are busy, which they are often, they are efficient. The few minor issues I have encountered have been quickly resolved by their professional and accommodating management staff. Staff was very friendly and I thought it was a nice touch to put bows on the tables closed for social distancing. The food and prices, however were disappointing. $15.95 for chicken fingers and fries. I thought the fries were overly salty and I heard another table send theirs back. My husband ordered jambalaya which he said was good. Overall, just an ok place to eat but overpriced. Better off going to a Village Inn and paying half as much. read more

I love the huge and diverse menu that can accommodate everyone's different preferences. Kids too! I also love that calorie counts are listed. I often purposely choose restaurants who do this for their health-conscious and/or dieting customers. I love the organic greens salad and always add the salmon. Delicious! I watched the waitress stare at the tv for 10 minutes while our drinks sat in front of her. The pretzel sticks were really good however the salad was pitiful using shredded lettuce like subway. The fires were stale and cold like they had been sitting in the back for hours. The waitress was almost non existent. I will not be coming back to this place. First time eating here. It was not good at all. My husband got chicken Alfredo and it looked really good, but the chicken tasted burnt and was disgusting. I ordered wings and a salad and the wings were not spicy at all and my Caesar salad dressing tasted more like honey mustard. Love this place - my favorite so far in Manhattan. Thursday is half price for wine and the calamari was the best we've found in the area so far. My husband had a steak and said that it was the first time he'd gotten a steak cooked to perfection (clearly the cook will change from night to night) and was very much impressed. We have been to other Houihan's locations and enjoyed our meal. This was hands down the worst Houlihan's experience we have ever had. The host staff being rude and dismissive was just the first of many disappoints during our visit. To say our waitress was inattentive and the food lacking would be an understatement. Cleanliness was also obviously not a priority for the staff of this location. While in Manhattan do yourself a favor: skip eating at Houlihan's and enjoy a meal at any of the other restaurants around town. read more

Fun place for lunch or dinner. Staff is quick and friendly and the food is consistently good. My favorite is the buffalo blu salad. The stuffed mushrooms are massive and delicious. And the various frites are good as well. I only wish they'd bring back the doughnuts for dessert. read more

Hit or miss. It's convenient if you're staying at the hotel, have a meeting on campus, or want to dart across the street to a show at McCain. Otherwise, really, walk the two blocks to Aggieville. Breakfast: the oatmeal and healthy scramble were great; my friend's poached eggs were the strangest poached eggs we'd ever seen. Brekkie menu not interesting, really, and the tea/coffee selection isn't great. Lunch: my sandwich was edible; my daughter's french onion soup was terrific. Dinner: BFF's filet mignon was excellent; my Asian lettuce wraps were disappointing. So it's a crap shoot. The atmosphere is dark and uninviting. The service, however, has been consistently excellent. One Friday evening during football season, part of the K-State marching band came into the restaurant and played a few songs. So far, I've always been impressed by eating here. My favorites: Their flatbread pizza (veggies with goat cheese) is fabulous. Their tuscan bean salad is amazing and fresh. Their truckstop fries are addictive. Their pasta is very good and salads are also delicious. I think that's all I've tried so far. They aren't that pricey as compared to eating in NYC, for the kind of food that they offer. I have been going back constantly and will continue to do so. read more

We really enjoyed our late lunch here. They salmon BLT is always good and my boyfriend got the stuffed chicken which was even better. The food came out slowly which was a drawback but they gave us some chips and salsa to make up for it. Disappointing! Decent drink specials, okay food, horrible service. We've been here twice and waited for our drinks over 15 minutes both times. We had to get up to find our server 3 times. She slammed it down in front of me, (I'm clearly 7 months pregnant) and it spilled on the table.. She walked away rolling her eyes and proceeded to turn her attention to some well dressed business men being sat at the table behind us.. She placed her hands on their shoulders multiple times when speaking which I viewed and very inappropriate and unprofessional as the men looked very uncomfortable. I don't know why I haven't done a review on this place yet, my family and I eat here all the time. Seriously, we can't stay out of it. Our little ones ask for Houlihan's when we're deciding where to go eat. Other people's kids scream Mickey D's or some other place with burgers and the promise of a free toy; our kids want Houlihan's. The food is excellent and artfully prepared, and the flavors...! It's also a great spot to meet up with friends for wine and/or reasonably priced cocktails that really should cost more when you experience how good they are. I love the atmosphere, their Serious Brownie (whatever it's called- it's crazy, stupid good), and the staff. One of the best places to nomnom in MHK, hands down. The lettuce wraps are so good for a light meal or shared appetizer. The come with chicken, shredded veggies, lo mein-like noodles and 2 delicious sauces. I came a few times for Happy Hour and they have some great drinks and apps for a really good price. The food quality is good and they make really good drinks. Honestly, I have always had great food and great service at Houlihan's in Manhattan, KS! I recently went to Houlihan's in Overland Park, KS and was equally satisfied. I am surprised to see one and two star ratings, but I am quite sure those rating Houlihan's so low, have never been abroad to REALLY experience deserved one and two star ratings! (Cruise ships do not count!). Houlihan's is one of the best places to dine in Manhattan, KS. My favorite is the Shrooms. I still am able to order the Calamari Salad, even though it is not on the menu. The chef still accommodates the order! Awesome service above and beyond! Great atmosphere! Excellent drinks! Management will make every effort to ensure your experience is top notch. I do recommend going in during the off hours for the very best of what Houlihan's has to offer. read more

I'm giving a 3 star because I have a gluten and dairy allergy and they worked with me. Cleaned the grill and had options. They also offer The Impossible Burger. The food was "meh" for the price (had a regular burger on gluten free bun and husband had chicken fried chicken). If you are traveling/coming down I70 and having a hard time finding a place to eat due to allergies, you will probably find something here. read more

We ate there for dinner, this place does have a decent atmosphere for a hotel restaurant, but unfortunately for their food doesn't always meet expectations. I order the stuffed chicken every time I visit-- and the last two visits, I have walked away very disappointed for a $17 item-- The chicken was pink inside and small portions. In a town like Manhattan, the restaurant selection is minimal. As someone who rarely leaves reviews, I felt compelled to comment about my experience at this restaurant due to the consistent service and food quality. My friends and I typically go on Tuesday's after we get off work and the atmosphere here is unbeatable. It is very relaxed while holding a sophisticated standard if you are trying to look for something away from the bustle of the ville. The menu has something for every one of my friends and has never been anything short of delicious. The prices on the happy hour menu from 5-6 are perfect if you're trying to be budget conscious and the drink selection is better than any other restaurant in town. Since we always go on Tuesday, we've had the same waiter throughout named Zach. Zach has been consistent with his service and always brings a fun, positive attitude that our table looks forward to. His knowledge of the menu is obvious because he always knows what to suggest when a member of our party is unsure about their order and has yet to wrong us. Throughout our dinner, another staff member, Stephanie, has continued to make sure we are satisfied with our experience. Overall, this is a place I will continue to suggest to others because I have yet to experience any negatives. read more

This place has it all. A great varied menu, nice ambiance, and not too expensive. I really enjoy the rosemary chicken breast, esp. love the mashed potatoes and fresh veggies that come with it. The chop salad is my favorite start, altho. the loaded nachos are enough to be a meal. They also have a reasonably priced drink menu with nightly specials. BUT the BEST part for me is dessert, the Creme Brulee is heavenly. It comes in a smaller size so you can fit it in, and the price is just right also. In the past I have really enjoyed Houlihans. My last visit was disappointing though. I ordered the Roast Beef dinner and it was presented beautifully. When I started eating it I was disappointed to find a huge mound of mashed potatoes covered with a small amount of gravy that had small pieces of meat in it. Just the week before we were in Missouri and the roast beef was presented in a large piece accompanied by vegetables and mashed potatoes. What a difference. If it is a meat dish - the meat should always be the star. At Houilhans I think the star was the onion straws all over the plate. I read more
