I took my mom here for Mother's Day. The food was delicious. I got the filet mignon with French onion soup and my mom got the chicken picatta and pork dumplings. We stopped at Houlihan's for a fundraiser dinner, and it left something to be desired. We waited over an hour for a table because the hostess forgot to call us when our table was available, then we waited an additional hour for our food to arrive despite ordering almost immediately after being seated. There were open tables the entire time we were there, so I have to wonder if they were short-staffed. The food was okay, and our waiter was very friendly, but I probably wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes to eat here unless there were another fundraiser going on. read more

Took my lovely mother out for Mother's Day and in search of a restaurant, she spotted Houlihan's and got super excited because used to frequent one in South Florida. I have never heard of this restaurant but was pleasantly surprised with the ambiance and food selection!!! I was going to get the Turkey Club but unfortunately they were out of turkey... so ending up getting the meal size salad & it was delicious! I ate until I was almost sick! My mom said she enjoyed the "famous" fried mushrooms and that the new crab dip sandwich tasted great & she was glad she got it. The service was not really a problem...just a bit of times our waitress felt MIA but other than that the staff was kind & friendly. I used to love the Houlihan's in Station Square and was so upset when it closed. Robinson had one but the reviews were awful so I never bothered. I didn't even know this one existed until a few weeks ago. We've ordered takeout a few times and they've been great experiences so my husband decided he'd like to go in person for his birthday dinner. The patio is absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. Our server was nice and on top of things. We got the tiki-la drinks which were very strong but fruity and refreshing. I loved the tiki cups. He enjoyed the lettuce wraps as an appetizer. We both decided to go with the three course meal. He got the mushrooms - huge, filling, and to die for! His meatloaf was well cooked and he really enjoyed it. I got the spinach dip and chips which was yummy but I would've preferred a pita instead of chips. My stuffed chicken was perfectly cooked and the mashed potatoes and green beans complimented it so well. We both went with the crème brûlée for dessert. It was a highlight - absolutely delicious! Food was pretty good. Service was ok. Drinks not so much. If you can't make a cosmo. Just say I can't make it. Asking for simple syrup to make it less sour or more vodka because it tastes like a mocktail. Should give you a clue. I've had cosmos here before and they are very good. Not tonight!!!! Horrible Hostess who couldn't be older then 18, was super rude. If I could do minus a star I would. Was told I needed reservations since it is mothers day. No one was waiting to be seated plenty of tables empty. Was told by hostess my 95 year old mother and myself who is 60 that we could sit at the bar. You would think common sense would tell her a 95 year old woman who I am holding on to her hand to steady her. That no way would she be able to sit on a bar stool. I will never go back. We arrived at 630 pm and we were sat immediately. It was a bit busy for a Tuesday night but not too crazy. We waited for 15 minutes before the server came to our table. We ordered our drinks and waited another 15 minutes before she returned with our drinks and took our food order. We ordered chicken parm, dumplings, and a crab melt. The chicken parm was flavorless and the crab melt had almost not crab cake and was basically a grilled cheese and tomato. Had lunch here with a group of people I knew. The place is large with the bar up to the front facing the main parking lot. One nice thing is that they offer lunch specials where you can combine either a soup or house salad along with half a sandwich, salad or entree. You do get more bang for your buck here! We had a very friendly and helpful waitress who saw to it all of our needs were met and our food was served without too much of a wait. I decided to go with the soup and entree combination. I had French onion soup to start followed by broiled scallops with risotto and arugula. The soup was covered in cheese but did seem a little bit watered down The scallops were the star of the show! Broiled just right they were downright delicious! I wasn't that much of a fan of the risotto or the greens but they complimented the meal well. Portion sizes are generous here. Someone in our group had the fish tacos and told me how much she loved them. That will be on my next visit. The place does get crowded over the lunch hour so it's best to call ahead and make a reservation. Located in the Galleria shops they have both indoor and outdoor parking. read more

I just got back from dinner at Houlihan's. I hadn't been there in a few months and was pleasantly surprised to find that on Thursday nights they have entertainment in the bar area. Great vibe. (They also have music on Sundays) Our table ordered the pork dumplings and stuffed mushrooms apps - both were delicious. I had the featured entree - stuffed shrimp, risotto, and asparagus which was out of this world. My fellow diners enjoyed the salmon and the meatloaf - two thumbs up from them as well. I would be remiss if I didn't mention our awesome server, Eve. She'a friendly, patient and she just made our dinner even more enjoyable! Our waitperson, Sophia, was exceptional. I had asked for extra crispy fries. When my meal was served, the fries were good but not as crispy as I would have liked. I didn't say anything but next thing I know, Sophia shows up with a plate of extra crispy fries and tells us that she just didn't think the fries we received were as crispy as they should have been. Unbelievable! She took it upon herself to remedy a problem that I had not communicated. She also anticipated our need for drink refills without us asking. She was so pleasant.
