Happy hour is awesome! Most apps are $4 albeit smaller portions. However, getting wings (which are delicious), a pork slider and French fries for $8 is fantastic! Drinks are on sale too and there are two sizes of beer to choose from. They also have a few TVs which is nice for following the high profile sporting events. My first Yelp posting... Triggered by this one... Wow! I'm writing this from my table within the Houlihan's North location on February 26th, 2019. My son ordered two of the Small Batch Cheeseburgers from the kid's menu, plain, with no cheese (he clearly said, "just meat and a bun"). When they arrived with cheese (after waiting a little too long, but tolerable), the waitress apologized and offered to return with an order without cheese. We thanked her and she returned after about 7-10 minutes. We thanked her. Moments later, my son appeared disappointed. He said they still had cheese on them. I checked it out. Here's what I saw (attached pics showing a product with remnants of cheese that someone clearly tried to scrape off of this kids meal). Unacceptable practice! Decided to take my girlfriend on date night to ease all this tension over Corona, coming here was a bad choice. We both ordered steaks and she chose sides of Mac n cheese and the mashed potatoes, I chose beans and loaded potato. I asked for medium steak she asked for medium rare. Well here's what we got: I got a rare cold, chewy as all get out steak with sweet potato fries and broccoli, when tf did I say broccoli? She got a medium to well done steak with also sweet potatoes fries and green beans. They literally got nothing about our order right. Not sure if the hostess was just that incompetent or the cooks just put whatever they felt like on the plate. Either way this place is a trash heap. Highly advise avoiding at all costs. Without being busy came in at 915 on a Monday night, still took about 5-10 min to get a drink and menu sitting at the bar. I had the side house salad which was good. The burger came out looking like a McDonald's quarter pounder, not impressed at all. The broccoli looked as if it was heated in the microwave yesterday. Bland, no taste, just blah, same with the burger. The same de of bacon and jalapeños consisted of 6 jalapeños.... and two burnt small... smallllll pieces of bacon. If you're looking for a burger save your time and money and go to steak and shake. I don't think I will be back to give it another shot unless desperate for food. Good luck if you try this and I hope your experience is better than mine. Update I tried again 1/29/19 service was much better this time however the food was blah. I had the bbq chicken flatbread. Had Mothers Day dinner here and experienced such great service came back Tuesday for the Chicken Sandwich! Wow!!!! I also have to give props to the French onion soup and surprisingly the baked potato- get it loaded! This Houlihans is very conveniently located for me. There just are not a whole lot of trendy dining options around this area of Springfield. It is expensively priced for what it is, but the trade off is a bit more variety in the menu than can normally be found. The So-Cal Fish Tacos, Steak and Wedge Salad and Crusted Ahi Tuna Salad are fantastic, and while the appetizers are AMAZING and unique, they cost about as much as any entree. The steaks and fish here are really good; for what you pay the cuts and grade are far better than say, Chilis. No gristle or connective tissue spotted to date! The only reason this place is getting a 4/5 stars from me is that the service is pretty inconsistent. The food and drinks ALWAYS come out fast, don't get me wrong, but some shifts the waiters are more attentive than others. They have never been unfriendly or standoffish, but sometimes I have been made to feel as though I am being rushed during any interactions or completely ignored. We had a meeting here this evening and had an excellent dining experience all around. The stuffed mushrooms were incredible. The 6 of us ordered an array of items from the ahi tuna salad to my choice the stuffed chicken breast. Then the manager in duty topped it off by giving us a complimentary new dessert they are offering to help support saving the music in our schools. It consisted of homemade brownie pops and mini ice creams. The chik o stick ice cream was hands down the winner but that reveals our ages. Great job Houlihans! read more

My first impression was how nice the interior was and how clean it was; it is evident that this restaurant is under good management. In addition, I was so happy that a place like this had no wait time. Our server Dalton really knew the menu and helped recommend the amazing Prime Steak and Wedge Salad. I loved it! He also helped my wife find a new red wine that paired well with her steak. We haven't ate at Houlihans in a few years and I never remember the food being this good! All in all I highly recommend this place, especially if you want an experience you will be talking about for the days to come. First off I would to say I have never left a review or saw a need to until my meal at Houlihan's tonight. From start to finish, the complete restaurant experience was the best I have ever had! I ordered the Kansas City Strip Steak with Asparagus and Golden Mash Potatoes and a bowl of tomato bisque. The service was top notch and not once did I need to find a server to ask for something! The manager came over to my table and greeted me not to mention the food! The meal was beyond delicious! I have eaten many steaks and I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was the best steak I have ever had! Not only was it cooked to perfection, but it was so good I didn't need any steak sauce or anything beyond how it was prepared. The food is really sub par! Steaks dry calamari rubbery. The restaurant was closed for awhile you would think they tried to improve but I guess they don't care about the qaulity of food they serve. Oh and if you don't wear a mask under medical conditions you are not allowed in. Even though springfield says a buisness cannot discriminate. Staff was friendly though. Not a isolated incident I am not one that believes one and done method all times my family has ate at Houlihan's the food is really terrible for the money. I ordered the cheese burger . . . one of the best flavored burgers I've ever had. However, burn was very dry/stale, the restaurant was not busy, but service was very slow and ho hum. Menu prices were fair but lean toward the higher side. Too much competition for my business in Springfield, I doubt I will return. Give me a good-fair price, GOOD food and above average service. This is a terrible restaurant. My girlfriend and I stayed in the hotel attached. When we ordered lunch from there, they brought up dirty silverware and water cup that hadn't been washed. I could tell by the food pieces on the in and outside of the cup. After our day, we went back to have drinks. I again asked for water and again another dirty cup was given to me (this is all with COVID-19 just happening and signs all over saying how much there cleaning). It took over 25 minutes for my girlfriend to get her drink. I told the waitress I wanted my check and was NEVER brought to me. I had to go to the bar after another 20 minutes of waiting. This was a horrible experience, and wouldn't let my dog eat here. Very disappointed. read more

We were halfway through our long drive home and decided to stay at the Fairfield next door to Houlihan's. My husband and I ordered the filet. He ordered a loaded baked potato and when we got back to the hotel, they gave him sour cheese and a couple of shreds had mold! When I called to let them know, I asked if they already stored the to go cheese container or do they make the to go cheese container right then. The hostess said, "I don't know how they do things back there." I worked in the restaurant business as a server for 5 years and the hostesses I worked with knew just as much as the servers! I had only heard good things about Houlihan's, so whenever me and some friends were trying to figure out a place to go eat, Houlihan's seemed promising. Trust me... you won't be blown away. For appetizers, we ordered the stuffed mushrooms and raw fish (for the life of me I can't remember the formal name of it). The fish was okay, but it had a really odd texture. It was as if the fish was frozen and they tried to thaw it out really quickly but it didn't finish all the way. The mushrooms were excellent. They were big portobello mushrooms stuffed with a garlic cream cheese butter mixture and fried. That was probably the best thing I got there. For dinner, I got the stuffed chicken breast that came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The chicken was pretty good, very tender, and it was stuffed with the same thing that was in the mushrooms. The mashed potatoes were surprisingly good, but the asparagus was very limp and overcooked. Dessert was by far the most disappointing. We ordered the creme brulee and the dessert that includes graham crackers, strawberries, and a chocolate/marshmallow mixture. The creme brulee was cold, which was weird since it's usually served hot. It was average, at best. The other dessert was terrible. Under the strawberries, it looked like there were seeds, but we quickly realized they weren't seeds when two of them started moving. There were at least ten bugs. We sent it back, and they brought another, not charging us for either of the desserts. The second tray had yet more bugs on it. We gave up on the strawberries and tried the graham crackers, but they were stale as hell. The dipping sauce was pretty good, I suppose. Over all...NOT impressed. I would give it one star, but the service was very good, and because of the whole dessert situation we got tickets for a free dessert next time we came in. But like I said, don't get excited. read more

I have been to Houlihan's several times and have always found their prices and food to be amazing. I have never take my friend before so I took her today raving about the prices and portions. I normally get the chicken tinders but today o decided to try their fish a chips while my friend had the fish tacos. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement, upon receiving my meal I was give one piece of fish about the size of a standard price of talapia. My experience at other restaurants is you receive two pieces of substantial cod. My friend however who ordered the fish tacos had two amazing looking pieces of fish with a side of rice. My recommendation would be not to order the fish and chips from this restaurant if you want more than a tiny price of fish. For the same price you can go to Big Whiskeys or Springfield Brew Co. and actually get a meal. read more
