I was seated immediately when I walked in, which was a good thing, but then there was a couple of guys that were seated after me and the waitress automatically went to them first which was strike one and then she brings me out my croissant that I look forward to when I'm eating at cheddars and she said we're out of honey butter here's your plain croissant I didn't want a plain called me, hon about three times us older women do not like that. but back to the croissant when I refused it, she went to the two gentlemen that she had waited on before me, and proceeded to tell them how I told her to take it back, which I thought was very rude. Yum! The aroma of grilling steaks hit me right in the feels when I exited our vehicle and I knew right then what I would be ordering. I've resisted going to Cheddars when visiting my parents in the past solely due to it being a franchise (because I enjoy dining in small, independent businesses as much as possible). Tonight Mom won the choice of restaurant so off we went! I'm sorry I was such a "food snob" before because I will definitely be back! :) We were greeted by a sweet hostess with a sincere smile upon arrival and were seated immediately. Shelby L. was a very personable & exceptional lserver and took really great care of us. Our drinks were refilled without asking and even before they were fully empty. That's attention to detail that we appreciate! She made our side salads fresh to order and brought them out before our dinner just as requested. The side salads were basic, but fresh and the honey lime dressing & Caesar dressing was really good. The complimentary croissants dripping in honey butter were addictive! Yum. Dinner - my ribeye came out perfectly medium rare just as ordered and the green beans were very flavorful with onions and a bit of something sweet that we couldn't place. I would definitely order this meal again. A huge 12 ounce ribeye so I took half home and half of my green beans and I am really stuffed! Their food is a great value too! My Mom gets chicken pot pie every time and I tried some and it was really delicious with huge chunks of chicken (which she complained about because she had to cut them up and it was a little difficult). but I think it's great. I told her that's a great first world problem to have. LOL! My Dad ordered the meatloaf and while he said he has had better, he had no problem eating every last morsel. I think he made a mistake, Mom and I both have great leftovers for tomorrow's lunch! Cheddars' parking lot is always full and I can see why. Went here, as we needed sustenance. We got sustenance. Ugh. So, the staff is friendly, more than most places. The meal starts off with these honey butter drizzled croissants that are heavenly. The problem is that the gem of the meal was that. I got beer battered shrimp, with rice and corn. The flavorless shrimp was cooked but there were a few spots where it seemed close to the edge of uncooked. The rice and corn were unremarkable. My wife's chicken dish with a salad was bland and compared to Dennys, save the creamy blue cheese dressing that somehow made a positive impression. We don't know how the place is doing so well as to be a chain employing 23,000 people, but then again Dennys has been in business for ages as well. read more

This is a very typical Cheddars. (Take that as you will) In our experience today and every time we dine, the service is efficient and respectful, sometimes even funny. Today Jordan was our server- great job. The food was all hot and flavorful so we cannot complain. It is a louder restaurant but that doesn't take away from the quality of the dining experience. Came here when I was shopping in the primrose shopping center. There was a little bit of a wait they were busy. But service was fairly quick and food was good. My wife and I frequent this location and have never had an issue with the service or food. That all changed last Monday 5/11/2026. Our server was very initiative to the point I was ready to walk up to the bar to get refills myself. When he did bring our drinks (sweet tea and unsweet tea) he had them wrong. My order was not correct, and the spin dip was burnt, the chips so salty and stale you could hardly eat them. The chicken in my wife's order had a very off-putting flavor. We had to leave before talking to the manager, but I did send an email to the location as soon as we got home, explaining our frustrations. I have not received any communication back from them yet. Cheddars started delivery recently and we ordered at 6 pm. Through the website directly. Cheddars then dispatch's the delivery to uber eats. I saw the driver at Cheddars on the link cheddars sends you. The driver acknowledged getting my food. I received a call at 8:30 from cheddars that the driver never picked up the food. I messaged the driver to let them know I knew they didn't pick up my order and at that point he was 6 minutes from my house he then turned around to go get it. Then proceeded to cancel my order. I highly recommend getting rid of uber eats. The restaurant remade it but it was cold when we got home and just not worth $45 in my opinion. Just go dine in if wanting cheddars. I will also add that because I ordered through the cheddars website directly, uber eats could not refund me or remove the tip or anything my they told me the store couldn't assist and I'd have to call cheddars corporate. I've eaten at Cheddars for years now. I usually get the chicken tenders with honey mustard and I could drink the honey mustard sauce. It's so good. I've had their onion rings and chicken fried steak and they were both very good. They give you a lot of food and are not expensive. just don't go at a busy time cause you may have to wait quite a while. The Waite staff has always been very attentive and very nice. We loved it, had the experience of going into it THREE times in one day. Not so much deliberately, but the road is crazy busy and we had time between shows. We had breakfast in the morning. Then left and went into a couple of tourist traps, then went to an afternoon show. We wanted to try a place in the downtown, but they were closed. Second time was for coffee, tea and a dessert. The theater was only a few blocks away from the second show we went to. Then it was getting late and driving discovered most places were closing so back to Cheddars. Want to emphasize that if we didn't enjoy the ambiance and food we would have never returned. Lastly, we had dinner. We both had the Chicken Fried steak. It tasted great even though we were very hungry by then. The price was reasonable and everything was very good. We love Cheddars - we do not have one in Cali so it's a treat when we visit gma in Springfield while working in this area. Usually it's fresh tasting, hot, and delicious. Not tonight. Our waiter who was also the bartender was very attentive and had a great personality. I just wish our steaks were as wonderful. The sides were good, but both my friend and I only ate half of our ribeye's which was something to remark on as we love steaks. They were overcooked on one side and had way to much gristle in them. In the end his dog found the remainder we took home and gave him acceptable, but I don't think either of up plan on going back here in the future. read more

My extended family and I met at Cheddars for a birthday lunch after a number of years away, mostly due to Covid. It doesn't matter where you live, the Cheddars are usually very busy and the quality and value is good and consistent. This visit was no exception even though we picked an early lunch and on a Monday. We were a party of seven and expected to have a wait for a table but we were seated in less than 10 minutes by a very friendly and conversational hostess. Our server greeted us fairly quickly, was very chipper and took our drink orders. Things really slowed down at this point. It was probably 15 minutes before we all got our drinks (other than water,) and another 15 or so minutes before we were able to order one appetizer. After another 15 minutes I flagged down a supervisor looking young lady to ask assistance. She was very friendly and assured us she'd check on our app. She came out with it shortly and said they'd take it off the bill for our wait. That was nice and appreciated but we soon discovered the spinach dip to be lukewarm and overcooked. During all this time our server checked on us occasionally but seemed to disappear after our encounter with the supervisor. Sadly after another 20-30 minutes our entrees arrived. All were good, including the ribs, pecan salads, chicken fried steak and my favorite, chicken pot pie. I miss the wonderful onion rings that are no longer on the menu. I totally get that there are significant issues with finding enough staff these days though I have no idea where millions of American workers have gone within most all sectors in all parts of the US. Anyhoo, I am grateful for those workers who do their best and are probably stressed because they are stretched too thin. Suffice it to say, this experience at Cheddars wasn't great, especially for a birthday but with the exception of the appetizer, the quality of the food was still pretty good. Was my first time visiting this cheddar's on south primrose in Springfield mo. Went there with my mother and my wife for my mother's birthday dinner. While my wife and my mother's meals were hot and by all accounts edible the chicken Alfredo I ordered with garlic bread was really bad. From the first bite I could tell something was very off. One it was luke warm. The other it was very salty. My wife got the servers attention and I told her" I can't eat this it is way too salty and it is luke warm". She said" I will take it back" and recommend I order something else from the menu.." to go. OK I wanted to eat my meal with my wife and my mother at the restaurant. There meals were fine. Mine was a total disaster. I'm hungry I want my food now at that moment. Not to go. I ordered a burger and some fries and the server left after taking my order. By now my mother and my wife have both finished there meals. And both are very frustrated and upset that I couldn't eat my meal with them. Seeing it was my mom's birthday they both ordered a dessert. Meanwhile I'm still waiting for my food. That I was told by or server was to go. So I wait. And wait some more. By now both my wife and mother are beyond mad. My food arrives. In a to go bag. This is not what I wanted. The server sits it on the table says sorry the kitchen is backed up and leaves. She comes back and we pay the bill.( a pricey one at that.) And I'm having to take my meal home to eat. Will I be back? No I won't. I wasn't offered to have a different meal cooked there so I could eat with my wife and mother. I was told my meal was to go. Carrot cake was great but I took off a star because the drinks are mixed weak - was told that is corporate policy.
