This is a chain restaurant with very subpar food, and terrible service. My husband and I had a decent first visit, but unfortunately the most memorable thing about our experience was the bartender with the horrible attitude. Truly, she made us feel as if we were an inconvenience and in no way was she nice or pleasant. On that occasion, we thought the food was good. We decided that we would maybe come back to enjoy the patio. So, on our second visit, we had a better experience with the service and food. Nothing spectacular but it was all fine. On our most recent visit, we decided to order take out, and keep it simple with some chicken tenders, fries, side of green beans, and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. The 2 fried foods (tenders and fries) were the only decent items from this meal. The chicken tortilla soup was the saddest, most tasteless soup I have ever encountered! First, there wasn't any chicken in it, and second, the broth tasted like water. Literally, the worst soup I have ever had!!!!! Then, the garlic green beans were basically raw, and still really REALLY crunchy, and didn't have any favor. I tried to doctor both items with spices from my pantry, and even then it wasn't worth finishing. And the last part that really made us realize that we won't be back is when my husband got to the bar to get the order, the same unpleasant bartender was there from our first experience. Even in the few short minutes of receiving the to-go order, and paying, the bartender made my husband feel again, as if he was inconvenience. So, please take your money and go spend it else where! Stumbled upon this place while in town for work. Although the lunch service could have been a bit more speedier the food was fantastic! I got their lunch combo with house salad (nice and fresh and awesome "croutons") and their squash and sausage lasagna. The lasagna was delicious and definitely not like anything I've had before! Where do I begin. So my wife tells the waitress while ordering her food that she can not eat any dairy products so she would like no cheese on her meal. After a very long wait for the food my wife asks if she can check on our food. When it finally comes out her flatbread is covered in sour cream, and our guacamole as well. So after sending it back to be corrected we waited probably 15 more minutes to have them bring back out spinach dip instead of guacamole. So we figured all right, its been to long we would rather go home. So instead of cancelling the guac, we asked for it to go. When we get home we open our to go box, just to find the chips covered in cheese. To add to that when we got our bill they had over charged us and had to have it corrected which extended our stay at what I now consider to be one of the worst restaurants in Columbus. read more

We went to Houlihan's with our best friends last night to celebrate my spouse's birthday. We had a wonderful evening! Our server was attentive and informative and the restaurant had a nice overall feel. House salads were especially flavorful. We all had different entrees, Salmon, Scallops, Ribs, and a small filet. All delicious as were the accompanying sides. An added plus was it was 1/2 off bottles of wine. All and all an outstanding evening from start to finish. This was my first time testing this restaurant. I chose it because I wanted some sea scallops. I grew up on the east coast, so fresh seafood is my norm. Well, this place right here did not fall short of spectacular. The pan seared scallops with the risotto and asparagus were exceptional. The acidic drizzle on top of the dish, set it over the top. I have been to Houlihan's many many times and have always been pleased.... ...their Happy Hour specials have always been a terrific deal. Tonight, however, may change my mind forever. The special (Valentines Day) menu sounded great. I went with a friend who celebrated a birthday today. The salmon special sounded awesome (salmon that was cajun and blackened with mushroom gravy and scalloped potatoes----yum!!) but it could NOT have been worse. It was dry, rubbery and flavorless....barely edible, unless you were starving. We politely indicated this to our server, who seemed totally disinterested. When she came to clear our plates, she even asked me if I wanted to take my remaining portion (more than half!!) home. Seriously!! In fairness, the appetizer portion of the potstickers was wonderful...reminiscent of my past experiences. Thank goodness for this or I would have gone home very hungry!! Foods pretty good, been coming here on a regular basis for years. For some reason the last 3 times we've come here we've been treated very rudely by the hostesses. There were six (yes SIX) vacant booths this time and when we asked for one they told us that all the booths were "reserved"...??? Like, really? All 6 are "reserved". Not sure what the real reason is why they insisted on seating us at one of the tables, but they're super uncomfortable and the reheated frozen over priced food here isn't really worth being uncomfortable. My wife received a "Birthday Pak" gift cards in the mail which included Dublin businesses and restaurants. I thought it was strange that a business in Upper Arlington would advertise in Dublin but we gave it a chance because we've heard good things about the place. We went a few weeks back and I must tell you we were extremely impressed. So much so that I came back for lunch with coworkers! This time around I ordered the French Onion Soup and Gluten free Mushroom Flatbread. Both were delicious, hot, and cooked perfectly. The service was enjoyable, friendly and discreet. The decor is classy and modern and I feel like the staff here reflects that from holding the door open when entering or leaving and how polite everyone is. My coworkers enjoyed their food and experience as well. Houlihan's has made some fans and we'll definitely be back. read more

What happened to the Houlihan's?? Service and quality are definitely lacking at this restaurant.  Ate dinner Saturday, April 21,2018.  That was our LAST time going to the restaurant. Immediately seated, soup and salad came quickly. Server said food will be up in a few minutes.  45 minutes later she brought our food to the table. The food was cold.  Two steaks were not done properly. Baked potato was one hour past its prime. Manager said he would make both steaks again. He said he would make one as a to go order and one for my companion to eat. The second steak came out almost black. Knife could not cut through the steak. We never received the second to go steak. Manager did not come back to the table again.  I had the chicken lettuce wraps- not good.   Houlihan's we have eaten at your restaurants for 30 years. I am sorry to say we will not be back to dine ever again. Hands down this was the WORST food experience ever.  Even the server had nothing to say about the lack of quality in the food. We stopped in for a late lunch. I had the misconception that this place was a "happenin'" kinda place. The decor is contemporary, yet the piping on every booth was worn off, non-existent. I had been a semi-regular customer (at the Upper Arlington, Ohio location) until I experienced severe food poisoning from their veggie burger on 2/24/20. I notified the manager the next day, who took down my information and implied that I would receive a call back from someone higher up. One month later, and no call back. My local Houlihans remembers my original call but indicated that once the info gets passed to corporate, they don't know what happens. So I called corporate who will hopefully get back to me with, at minimum, a refund. Pretty shoddy customer service considering this was a public health concern. I will never return. read more

Kind of a weird place that focuses on lots of fresh healthy items and Chinese food, all the while having as many menu items as a Cheesecake Factory. Looks and fees like a chain, but I guess it isn't. The cocktails are interesting, the one I had was decent. I have no real complaints about the food, better than expected. This is a place that your non foodie relatives will take you and you won't be too disappointed, but you would never come on your own. read more

I love this place. I haven't tried a menu item that I didn't like. I recently went with a friend to celebrate my birthday. I received $15 dollars off of my meal thanks to their birthday club. I had the sirloin with the tortilla soup, mashed potatoes, and green beans. It was amazing! I also tried the martini flight and had the brownie for dessert. I was very impressed with the food and the service. I'll continue to go back to Houlihan's. Plus, they have a pretty great happy hour! read more

Fantastic. I've been here twice. Once on a date and once with my Mom. Both times I was impressed and I rarely say that, even when I am pleased. The portions are excellently scaled - not like a hog's trough. Elegant, simple, modern, contemporary yet classic atmosphere. Service is fantastic and not over-the-top fake. The flow of the restaurant is very intuitive and efficient and the decor is very handsome and classic with lots of nice wood and open, high ceilings. When with my Mom, she had this amazing pot roast which had an American contemporary twist to it. It was DELICIOUS! We had the pot roast (best I've ever had) and the lettuce wraps and fries. We were absolutely more than satisfied. Highly recommend! By the way, we also each got a free cookie at the end of our meal! read more

Little surprised with the rating on yelp since the service and food both times I have been to Houlihans have been excellent. Sara was our server both times, she is friendly, effecient and non intrusive so you can actually enjoy the meal and atmosphere. We went last night (May 24th) and I was impressed. We had to wait an hour, but that was okay since it was Friday night during dinner hours. While we waited, we sat on the very nice patio and had some drafts (which were half off since it was happy hour!), and also had some discounted apps. Dinner was great, with the stuffed chicken and the meatloaf being the best things we got. I also recommend texting a number that is provided on a table insert in order to get a free dessert. We got the brownie sundae and it was the worst of the all the things we got, but still okay. Overall great service, and our server Kate was spot on and very efficient. Why did I come here? Definitely not for the service or food! I ordered a martini flight from the drink menu for $8.50. Imagine my surprise when the bill arrived for $10. Since my menu disappeared I snatched a menu from the next table and it was different! The flight was $9.75. Upon asking the waitress, she informed me that they no longer serve chocolate martinis and that she had to up charge the flight... But shouldn't you tell the customer upfront like when making a fuss about the $1 up charge for substituting a salad for a side!! Instead of doing the right thing and correcting my bill, she just said thanks for letting me know I'll make sure the hostess takes those menus out. We are here all the time. Fantastic gluten-free options and great service! They have a nice patio and a super convenient location. Words cannot describe how happy I am that they have always had a gluten-free bun for sandwiches and gluten-free flatbreads! My one complaint is a TV over the bar that needs to be replaced as the picture is really bad. Watching sports sucks on this TV. It's nice to have a new place in UA. I want to really like the food, but the atmosphere and drinks are great. The food, eh - but great drinks, I recommend the Long Island Iced Tea on the menu. Have eaten at this restaurant several times and we have always had good meals. We went Friday night and the food was again good however the service had a lot to be desired. It took an unusually long time for the waiters first appearance with each order resulting in longer waits. After another extended wait we were told the shrimp for the fish tacos were dropped and the other food was done however they were redoing the shrimp we had to ask for the meals that were ready to be brought while hot.. After another wait, the shrimp tacos were delivered with 3 small shrimp per taco. I am not a chef however I do believe grilling 6 shrimp might take 3-4 minutes.. Not 10 to 15 after the other meals.. The restaurant did provide a free desert for the table however it did not make up for the extended wait for just an ok meal.. read more
