Thank goodness we found Happy Bark & Tails. From our first meeting, the owner, Madeline, was informative, and caring, gave us a clear idea of what to expect on our wedding day, and took the time to answer all our questions. Every step of the way, Madeline was patient, responsive, and put us at ease. We even scheduled a meet-and-greet a few weeks before the wedding with Madeline and her husband, Gabriel, who is also a co-owner of the business. We were certain that they would not only care for Oreo but treat him like their own baby. On the day of our wedding, Madeline and Gabriel arrived at our hotel and immediately took care of Oreo. They put on his cute "best dog" scarf and bow tie and handled him while my husband and I got ready for our wedding. They walked him, fed him, played with him, helped him pose for pictures with us, and treated Oreo like family. They transported him to the venue, took him back to our hotel, and stayed with him until we got back. We couldn't have asked for a better company or people to work with! They asked detailed questions about the haircut style before starting, so I felt pretty confident things wouldn't go wrong. Mika did an amazing job with the grooming. My dog's coat was pretty tangled from travel and lack of brushing, but she handled it well and gave him a shorter summer cut that still looked really cute. They got enrichment every day and throughout the month they have themed days which is so fun. They're active on instagram so it's nice to see how much they enjoy being with the pups. If you're worried about staff not caring about the dogs, trust me they do. These are people who actually love dogs and aren't just clocking in to get a check. They split up the dogs based on size (i'm assuming) and they all have outdoor spaces to roam around and play. I like how there's cameras for me to check in on my boy while i'm at work, gives me peace of mind especially in the beginning. Rocket is a very anxious dog but he's gotten very comfortable with coming here. He used to be timid with the staff (he's not the biggest fan of people lol) but within a month he was letting them pet him and not clinging to me as much when dropping him off. They have packages every month with good deals (like buy 10 days get one free, buy 10 days get 5 enrichment days free, etc) that I always opt for. They have great hours too, they open at 6:30 on weekdays which is perfect for my 7am start time at work. They're open until 7 but sometimes if I get out of work a little late I can call and come pick him up at like 7:15 if I need. I haven't used the onboarding services or other ones, I just drop him off in the morning and pick him up after work. I love this place and they really ease my nerves as a first-time dog mom in her 20s figuring all this out lol. I will say that I personally haven't had a bad experience with this person, but my boyfriend has mentioned that the blonde lady at the front desk has an attitude and I've seen it with other customers. I've never once complained about that either! If that's the case, what's the point of a scheduled appointment? When I reached out to Pedigree, they were so nasty and unpleasant because of the emergency and couldn't accommodate me. We're still in the middle of a pandemic, and emergencies happen. The lack of empathy shown to me, a customer giving my money to this establishment for over a year, was/is heartbreaking. While I understand that me having to cancel now put them at a loss for a grooming session today, I was willing to make it up by simply rescheduling for ANY day that worked on their end. Instead, I'm subjected to a cancellation fee. Maybe I should've given them a few for "if you have scheduled slots for grooming, why does it take a whole workday to get my dog groomed?" But no... Also, per the owners response to me (and others), she's combative. The business overall lacks accountability and professionalism. Never once did I yell to the receptionist but only asked her q's and let her know I would no longer be coming back. Also, the emergency was not my son not able to come w me. I also only asked about Saturday but mentioned I was okay with waiting weeks out because of my cancellation instead; I was hung up! As mentioned in my review, I've been here many times, and he's always joined because you guys provide curbside pickup. I will continue to advocate for small businesses, but I cannot when they are like this.
