They have a good selection of beer but the food offerings were a bit disappointing. There's a food truck outside that has a limited menu and average food. The environment was also underwhelming, as it was very noisy and somewhat hard to carry a conversation. Trying to find parking on the street was a joke and walking by homeless encampments on the way to the establishment doesn't exactly give the warm and fuzzies, but there's nothing they can do about that. Great staff that really take pride in the place. The restaurant staff even open the front doors, welcoming guests. I doubt you get that kind of service at Waverly CC. Eastmoreland is a muni jewel. Keeping pace the entire round and guess how many times the PA/Marshall came to talk to us? THREE TIMES! 1 time is plenty, 2 times is fine, 3 is ridiculous. And the Marshall that stopped us the third time literally wouldn't stop talking for like five minutes about how we need to pick it up and now I'm thinking to myself is if you want us to play faster maybe you should stop talking to us.. by that time we group behind us was not waiting, and they hadn't been waiting for the majority of the round except the first three holes when we were getting our momentum going for the start of the round. And this lady comes up to us on hole 14 and tries to tell us that we're 30 minutes behind haha, laughable. You were perfectly on pace and she said " well it says here on the sheet that technically you guys are 30 minutes behind", I just laughed and told her we're good and she wouldn't stop yapping. I almost called the golf shop right then to complain but I resisted.

The course is very nice and well kept I will say, but if you're a beginner like me I would go to more chill and welcoming courses. Everybody I interacted with here was either rude or didn't seem like they wanted me there. Our tee time was 7:30 and was showed up to the box at 7:30 so running a little late I understand that's bad on my part. Every other golf course I've played at so far has been super nice about things like that, either having people go in place of us or combining us with a group or something and not making us feel too bad about it. The lady that was Marshall this morning was unbelievably rude, yelling at us to hurry up even following us down the whole first hole telling us to hurry up in the middle of our backswings even. That definitely set the mood for the round, we eventually let the group that was behind us play through anyway so the Marshall could have done that from the beginning and maybe been a little nicer. Overall actually a fun course to play I just won't be coming back.

I rarely see people golfing, and I've walked this trail a dozen times, I saw golfers twice. The Fanno Creek Regional trail at Garden Home is incredibly cute, scenic and relaxing. I always see bunnies! However, the PORTLAND GOLF CLUB HAS TAKEN AWAY FROM THE BEAUTY! Please see the photos of the signs showing the big ugly dark tarps they put on the fence! They're literally blocking the sun from our view! Parts of the trail are dark and tunnel like even on sunny days, because of their ridiculous tarp. Are us walkers that much of an eye sore? It's families, seniors, kids, people walking their pups! There are are no tents, no homeless people, no drug activity, no trash on the trail. But as if that was not enough, "they want to destroy the wetland, eliminate wildlife habitat, create an eyesore, alter storm water flow and potentially contaminate Fanno Creek." In fact, the only pouring that happens here is ice cold beers into tall pint glasses. Golf on Tap is essentially two golf sim bays tucked inside The Growler Guys - so there's a huge selection of great beers to drink while you're swinging away. They offer pub fare tooI (I recommend the brat) if you want to grab some food at the turn. When you're not on the tee box, the space outside the sims feels a bit narrow. There's not a ton of room to hang out, so it tends to work better for a small group wanting to get some swings in rather than a big group looking to socialize.

There's a fantastically maintained golf course, commanding views of the Willamette, and the kind of clubhouse you'd expect from a top-end joint founded in 1896. The grounds are carefully manicured, the entrance is grand, the wallpaper alone probably costs more than my whole house, and it reeks of old money. I'm not a member here. Who knows if they'd have me, and I doubt I could afford it. But attending a wedding here, I have to say that I wouldn't mind being one. Aside from the pool, the river access, the terraces and grill overlooking the river, and the fancy indoor areas, it seems like it would be a nice place to recreate, score big business deals, or, in the case of my visit, host a grand wedding. And while in my Portland existence I've never been a fan of dress codes (and I'm not exactly sure what the code is here) I can say that if I paid whatever it costs to be a member here, I'd appreciate the fact that the members and guests were expected to class things up when hanging around the joint. But really what I want, someday, is to play a round here. And now that I have a friend who married in to this community, I look forward to finessing my way in to one. The fairways are impeccable, the sand traps treacherous, and the greens are as they would be in heaven. And I can't discount the fact that the views of the Willamette and the mansions on the opposite side would be a nice escape from the average, overly-casual Portland environment. No, I'm not of the ilk that likes to put on airs or showboat money, but damn if that isn't a nice ass golf course. And that I can appreciate. Oh, and I should mention the food. As far as a catered wedding goes, the food here was well above average. And on top of the great dinner, they brought out sliders, grilled cheese and french fries at 11pm after most of the guests were well sauced. This has to be one of the most brilliant wedding catering ideas ever. Bravo.

There are not a lot of hazards to encounter and play moves well. The beverage cart girl came by several times and was always friendly and service oriented. A couple buddies and I drove 2 hours up to Hillsboro to make a day of the area and started with Topgolf. Never been to one before and weren't sure what to expect. The guy that greeted us was all that helpful with we needed to do. I had to give my name, number, and email, which was fine. I chose an hour and the guy told me that we had the hour and could extend for up to 30 minutes as there was another party that was going to use our bay after that. Armed with only the bay number to go and find, we left the counter without knowing what we needed to go. Once we got to our bay, there is a tablet device that wanted me to pick from one of the 5 or 6 available games. As I had no clue what any of them were, I didn't know what to pick. Thankfully, there is an employee that is outside in the bays to help with things and he got us on track. Weirdly enough, if I wanted my friends to have their own names (to see who won each game), they would have to spend $6 for memberships of their own. That's not cool. The kid that came over was kind enough to set it up so that we could have 3 different names for the games and he picked the first game for us. He also explained how the ball was dispensed, that there is a QR code on the table if we wanted to order food, and to have fun. The balls have trackers in them, so after you hit it, the TV screen in every bay will show a digital view of how the ball flew through the air, where it landed, and how many points were earned with each shot. So you hit the ball, you watch it land, and then everyone turns to the TV to see how many points were registered. Pretty simple. Everyone got 5 shots per round and there were 3 rounds the first game we played. After we got done with the first game, we chose a 2nd one that played a little differently. Much more important to hit the circular netted targets on the large field to score points. I wanted to order food, but it was a chore. First, the QR code made me download the Topgolf app. Not the end of the world, I guess. I found the food and added to my cart. I couldn't figure out how to "sign in" to the bay so that I could actually order the food (you can't order it until you are in the bay - which we already were). I tried several times before I found a login area and it auto-logged me into my bay. If it were that easy and I approved the app to see my location, why didn't it auto-login me in to my bay? Now that I know, I know - but we waited 12 minutes while I figured it out (and had to play a round in the middle of it) before we could get our food ordered. The food was decent. I got regular fiesta nachos and a side of fries. For the price, they are OK, but there wasn't much on the nachos and the fries needed ketchup (or ranch, or some kind of dipping sauce, and they came with none). We finished up our 2nd game right about the time that our gametime expired. The game froze up with 15 minutes left to see if we wanted to extend our game time and I couldn't figure out why the ball wouldn't release for my turn until someone pointed to the tablet. All told, for the fiesta nachos, fries, and an hour of golfing, it was about $70 (plus the tip). Not egregious, but you can get a lot more out of $70 than an hour and snack bites for that amount. We also played just before noon, so we got the lowest per/hour rate. It would have been more if we had shown up later. Still - I would definitely come back. There was plenty of room for more people, although we'd have to play longer to get through the games with more players. Food ordering would be more simple. We didn't try any drinks, but we were brought ice water when we got to our bay. Overall, it is a fun place and not a bad way to spend a little bit of time - if you are good with the pricing.

The grass was sooo dead and with the super firm, smooth soccer balls, AND down hill holes, it was ridiculous. With a tiny tap it would go all the way down the hill on to the trail or road or whatever. The employee didn't seem to care when I brought it up.
