Wow - this place is a trip and a half! It is an expensive trip and a half, but that's kind of golf in a nutshell anyway, so let's have fun doing it! A couple buddies and I drove 2 hours up to Hillsboro to make a day of the area and started with Topgolf. Never been to one before and weren't sure what to expect. The guy that greeted us was all that helpful with we needed to do. I had to give my name, number, and email, which was fine. I chose an hour and the guy told me that we had the hour and could extend for up to 30 minutes as there was another party that was going to use our bay after that. Armed with only the bay number to go and find, we left the counter without knowing what we needed to go. Once we got to our bay, there is a tablet device that wanted me to pick from one of the 5 or 6 available games. As I had no clue what any of them were, I didn't know what to pick. Thankfully, there is an employee that is outside in the bays to help with things and he got us on track. Weirdly enough, if I wanted my friends to have their own names (to see who won each game), they would have to spend $6 for memberships of their own. That's not cool. The kid that came over was kind enough to set it up so that we could have 3 different names for the games and he picked the first game for us. He also explained how the ball was dispensed, that there is a QR code on the table if we wanted to order food, and to have fun. The balls have trackers in them, so after you hit it, the TV screen in every bay will show a digital view of how the ball flew through the air, where it landed, and how many points were earned with each shot. So you hit the ball, you watch it land, and then everyone turns to the TV to see how many points were registered. Pretty simple. Everyone got 5 shots per round and there were 3 rounds the first game we played. After we got done with the first game, we chose a 2nd one that played a little differently. Much more important to hit the circular netted targets on the large field to score points. I wanted to order food, but it was a chore. First, the QR code made me download the Topgolf app. Not the end of the world, I guess. I found the food and added to my cart. I couldn't figure out how to "sign in" to the bay so that I could actually order the food (you can't order it until you are in the bay - which we already were). I tried several times before I found a login area and it auto-logged me into my bay. If it were that easy and I approved the app to see my location, why didn't it auto-login me in to my bay? Now that I know, I know - but we waited 12 minutes while I figured it out (and had to play a round in the middle of it) before we could get our food ordered. The food was decent. I got regular fiesta nachos and a side of fries. For the price, they are OK, but there wasn't much on the nachos and the fries needed ketchup (or ranch, or some kind of dipping sauce, and they came with none). We finished up our 2nd game right about the time that our gametime expired. The game froze up with 15 minutes left to see if we wanted to extend our game time and I couldn't figure out why the ball wouldn't release for my turn until someone pointed to the tablet. All told, for the fiesta nachos, fries, and an hour of golfing, it was about $70 (plus the tip). Not egregious, but you can get a lot more out of $70 than an hour and snack bites for that amount. We also played just before noon, so we got the lowest per/hour rate. It would have been more if we had shown up later. Still - I would definitely come back. There was plenty of room for more people, although we'd have to play longer to get through the games with more players. Food ordering would be more simple. We didn't try any drinks, but we were brought ice water when we got to our bay. Overall, it is a fun place and not a bad way to spend a little bit of time - if you are good with the pricing. read more

Overall, a 3.75/5. The vibes are great, atmosphere uplifting, and just a good spot to go for a birthday party, friend gathering, and more! The food is a little pricey, so if you're wanting to save I'd recommend eating beforehand, grabbing something shareable while you're there, or definitely take advantage of their combos. We got the Pepsi Kickoff Combo and it was worth the price! The service was great, a manager visited us during our visit and they let us know if we'd be getting a new server at the change of shifts. Came here a few times this year with family and friends. Great time and always a fun competition. Great for all ages- they even have little golf clubs, along with clubs for left handers! They have different golf games you can do and we always switch it up. We like the sonic and angry birds version. Drinks and food can become expensive once you get going; our family actually did the large party package and didn't come out too bad for 14 of us. We got two bays and had our own server and she was so nice and made sure we were good. I just wish there was another location on the east side of Portland- quite a drive as it's way west in Hillsboro. There are three levels to play and I like the top level as it helps make the balls go further out. Looks like prices are cheaper during the week, rather than Weekend. They have a restaurant to chill and watch sports, and the pro shop is interesting to walk through. read more

Came here for my actual birthday and getting a bay was easy since there were text reminders on when it'll be available. It's a big place and chill vibe. The food wasn't the best, but the server from Eric was quick and easy since he was attentive. Nachos were not the greatest since I like my chips a certain style and toppings could be more topped off. My cocktail was watered down, didn't get that alcohol buzz going. The desserts were a hit though! Happy hour prices are decent. Can be pricey during peak times. read more

It is fun for a novelty. The food is overpriced. The tipping structure is odd. They include the gameplay with the food bill. There's a lot of confusion regarding what you tip on. We ended up having a $400 bill but only $170 of it was food. There was a birthday party so we got a free dessert. I recommend the little donut holes. It has three syringes with different dessert fillings . The waiter talk so fast about instructions that we couldn't really understand him. It takes a long time to get your food and drinks. Even though we were outside, it felt warm because of the heaters. Overall, it is a fun place to go, but get ready to lay down some cash . read more

We had to wait 20 minutes for a prior party to leave the bay we were assigned after we were told that we were good to head over. Once we were settled, we had our food delivered in the last 10 minutes of our one hour session and decided we would extend our stay for 30 minutes to play more and be able to eat our food. It took 15 minutes for the servicer to finally get the second game going for us, claiming that there was an issue with our bay. 8 minutes of play time in our second game he comes back telling us that we will need to stop our game and leave the bay because another party had a reservation. We were comped the 2nd game and were given a $15 off our next stay coupon but why would we want to come back after that stay? We felt so undervalued and disappointed read more

We ran into an issue with our machine not spitting out any balls, so they called the maintenance team and they also couldn't figure it out. What a fun time we had at Top Golf! I've been before for a work event in Texas, but it was my husbands first time. We booked 90 minutes, and got an appetizer sampler, I had a couple cocktails - everything was great. Service, kind and impeccable. The vibes of the place - fun! Can't wait to go back. Only small critique is it's expensive - expensive enough that we won't go as often as we might if it were a little less, but definitely not a blocker! We decided to come in and have an impromptu family outing. We were extremely happy to be seated right away and were excited we were near the bar and food. Our waitress came over took our order, then we proceeded to golf. A server brought our food out and we asked about refills and he said our waitress would be back to grab those. After about an hour I was worried our waitress might have left and no one told us, but low and behold, she had actually been just sitting and eating and talking at the table right next to us the whole time. So I moved our empty glasses to the edge of the table to kind of signal that we needed some refills, 10 more minutes and nothing. Finally I just said "excuse me, are you are waitress?" Which apparently startled her, she must had forgotten she was working. She got the refills and a vodka soda for us. Unfortunately the vodka soda was so flat there were zero bubbles even up stirring and tasted just like water. We finished our game as quickly as possible and left. Sad, we used to love Top Golf, but the last few times have been very lackluster. Don't know if we will be back. The cost and experience don't really match up. 3/10 Don't recommend. read more

Stayed on top of our order but left us alone to have fun. The whole concept is designed to make sure everyone has a good time, regardless of ability. You know, as someone who's never held a golf club in their life, I had a ball of a time! We came for half off Tuesday where bays were $30 an hour. Arriving at 7pm we had to wait about 45 min. After a quick drink at the bar it was time to golf! Our bay was at the very end so it felt quite private. We had a U-shaped couch that fit our party of seven. Registering our players and navigating the system was simple enough, so the hard part was actually hitting the ball. Thankfully we had some experienced friends to show us the way. The cocktails I had were fruity and sweet. I'd say the food tasted like mediocre bar fare. Our server checked on us plenty of times and kept us stocked with drinks and bites. I've been here several times over the years for both personal and professional/work sponsored/catered events - all great experiences with excellent service. However, this review is for my most recent visit, a date night with my husband to celebrate my birthday which happened to be on a Tuesday evening so we were able to take advantage of the 50% off pricing. It was a cold and rainy night in Hillsboro but the vibe inside was warm and lively with plenty of customers in the upstairs bays, all with varying party sizes and ages, both young and old alike. We were greeted immediately upon arriving to our bay, which enabled us to order our food and drinks so we could get right to playing! We don't usually order food when we visit but because it was a special occasion we decided to get some light bites: nachos, pretzels, and the chicken tenders with fries. And I must say we were pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food - everything was good! We chose to play Angry Birds, which is an awesome game to play when you aren't the best golfer. You get to focus on the video game aspect of play instead of hitting balls into the specific targets on the green. Our server was awesome and super kind, attentive but not overbearing, came by exactly when we needed. She even brought a special birthday sundae for us to share which was also delicious! All food was good but some portions were very small while others were what I expected. The "nachos" plate is small and not what you expect nachos to look like. It's not going to fill the crowd. Beautiful presentation but I'd rather it be messy and much larger. The cheese fries were also fairly small and soggy. They tasted ok but not something I'd order again. The wings had good flavoring and came with a good amount of carrots and celery. My favorite was the hummus. You get a generous amount of hummus and pita with celery and carrots. We also ordered the Ruben which was absolutely delicious. The slaw was perfect and the sandwich is a good size. I'd definitely get it again. Service was great. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Ordered coffee and it was freshly brewed. Wish they had vanilla creamer. It was a really cold night but the heat lamps were on and HOT. This was my first time at Topgolf, and although I had a blast playing golf with my friends, I'd say the service needs improvement. We reserved the table for one hour, but we kept being rushed by our server. We came on a Monday evening, so the place was not too busy. Since we came in the evening, we ate dinner first, however, our server kept rushing us to start our game. Food is alright; I ordered a burger and fries, but nothing extraordinary. The golf games are very fun, I must admit. Even if you're not an expert or have never played, you will have a great time! We finished our game with some drinks, but our server asked us to move to the bar area, which we made us a little upset. Our server asked us to move because our specific table was reserved-- keep in mind that there were plenty of other tables available as the night was not busy at all. We ended up moving downstairs to the bar where we finished our drinks. Was looking to find something fun to do that would be open post-snow day in Oregon. Came around 12pm with a reservation and our bay was ready. We love coming to Top Golf because of the fun atmosphere and always have a great time with Top Golf. The server we had was super sweet and checked up on us to make sure everything was good. We paid $99 for two hours. For food we had the Mac and cheese bites and the pretzel bites. Both were great. Here's my take from a (six-month) Platinum membership perspective: Background: - Ever since moving to Oregon, I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. (:pun intended:) Getting back into playing golf that is! Location & Parking: - You can see it off the 26 freeway, off the Brookwood Pkwy exit. So you can't miss it. They've got a huge parking lot in which I have seen nearly packed, but never fully packed. Note: There are a few reserved spaces in the front for Platinum members, but I doubt they monitor who parks there. This location also has a couple of EV charging spaces as well. Gameplay & Reservations: ~ A Platinum membership includes unlimited gameplay during specified Platinum Hours, and allow up to six players in a bay, per membership. No bay rental fee is another perk. You can even borrow a premium set of Calloway clubs to try out. And they'll deliver them to your bay. A 20% discount on food, as well as 20% off hosting an event. There's even a cool "Hole-in-One" prize if you land one. ~ Download the app and book a reservation with ease. You can even join a waitlist if they're fully reserved. I've yet to have any issues creating a reservation. Driving Range & Dining: ~ Obviously, the open targets on the range and the various golf games are the main features for wanting to come here. I've rented both types of bays. The regular one with a high table and the other type with a couch and table for larger groups. They have been clean for the most part. Even provided are some alcohol wipes. Another cool highlight is, sometimes at night, you can request for a light show! This is where the targets light up to the beat of the music. Pretty cool! Request for Happy Birthday! Food & Service: ~ Oh man, too many food items to write about. Simple bar food items on the menu and a long list of drinks. I personally enjoy all their featured drinks and cocktails. And I typically order the macaroni bites, nachos, pretzel bites, wings, and tres tacos. Those are my favorite apps for the most part, but I sometimes savor their tasty salads too. Folks seem to love their burgers and donut holes, but I'll stick with the appetizers. ~ I've been to this location at least twenty times and usually receive exceptional service. From guest service check-in to table service, everyone working here have been pretty cordial to me. Recently, my friends/coworkers have received excellent service from bay host Katie S, (or Kathryn). She had always been attentive and very accommodating, whether if giving us an intro during a work event or if I needed some bay alone-time to work on my swing. Even giving me a few good pointers. Serving me them Buffalo Wings, a Bloody Mary or Sand Trap Martini, she's been most helpful! Thank you Katie! Negatives: ~ The bay kiosk gaming software. I'm not sure what old software TopGolf is using, but it needs a serious update or software facelift imo. I mean AngryBirds is amusing, but getting a bit outdated lol. I've also been here when the kiosk have been running slow or even fully down. Now that just kills the mood sometimes. ~ I also inquired about taking lessons, but honestly was turned off by the price. Overall, TopGolf is an enjoyable place to spend time with friends, family, and coworkers. Eat, drink, hit balls! I feel their appetizer and food items are fair in price, and I did feel the benefits of being a Platinum member with the discount. And I plan to re-sign for another six-months again in March. This experience was definitely interesting. First off, do not order the hummus. If you do plan on ordering expect to receive dry vegetables, dry pita and bland paste. Super disappointed. Secondly, if you're looking to have a good time with friends that are "21 & up"... this is not the spot. They supposedly changed their "rules" on alcoholic beverages. First hour, only 2 drinks depending on what beverage. After the first hour, you're limited to one. For example, our party wanted a pitcher which meant if two people wanted the pitcher, the other two in the party wouldn't be allowed any drinks until the next hour. Super strange way to limit groups. The party next to us definitely were shocked as we were with these new "strict" rules they implemented. At the end of the day, it's the business losing money and future business bc they choose to run it this way. I guess the positive side to this is i saved money from ordering more from this spot. Make reservations ahead of time. Prepare to drop serious change. Like $250-300 for 6 of us for 2hrs, with food and some adult drinks. If you want to work on your swing, go to a regular driving range. If you want to entertain a couple of friends or have a teenager birthday party, this is a pretty cool venue. You don't have to know how to play golf to enjoy TG, but it definitely helps. They have clubs you can use and special balls with trackers on them so you can see your replay over and over. With three levels of private bays that can fit up to 6 people, bars and TVs on each floor, this place is great even if you don't play golf. We brought some 80yr old friends who live around the corner and everyone from the teenagers to the senior citizens had a blast. This is only our second time to a Top Golf, but it was high up on our list of things we wanted to do in PNW. The kids love the Angry Birds Top Golf, since they don't really play golf. If you fling your club into the driving range by accident, there is a guy down there on a cart that will grab it. FYI. The menu here was ok. The food was a lot better at the San Jose TopGolf, I thought it would be the same menu at every location but the selection here was different, smaller and not as tasty. The service came around frequently enough despite us being in a far corner. Food was pretty decent. I wouldn't say it was amazing. We had chips and dip, Mac and cheese bites, and a wrap with some tots. My favorite would probably be the Mac and cheese bites. On Tuesdays the bays are half off so it was a little busy.
