Food quality / price (value) rating 8. The atmosphere is shotgun dining room with a sushi bar. The term "fusion" is mis-attributed here, as it isn't combined styles of cooking, but rather it's basically separate dishes of Chinese, Japanese, and Thai food. I had the Beef, Chicken, & Shrimp with broccoli. A very Chinese dish. The meats were very tender, not over cooked like a lot of Chinese restaurants do. The wife had the Curry Chicken and vegetables, also very Chinese, and pretty good. There was some fried noodles and sweet and sour sauce served before dinner that were pretty good. They have a beer and wine license only at this point. The only music noticeable seemed to be coming from the kitchen, and was competing with the sound on the tv. Overall, the place is pretty good if you like Chinese food and sushi, but there really isn't much separating it from any other Chinese restaurants. read more

The service at Hosaku is always amazing, and the food is delicious. But what truly makes this place special for us is something from the heart -- I'm the dad of a little autistic girl named Manuela, who has a hyperfocus on sushi. We ordered delivery through Seamless. My review actually changed as I thought more about it. It went from a 4 to a 5. The food was still hot long after it was delivered. I got a General Tso combination with Wonton Soup. At first I thought it was overpriced. The more I thought about it, it was a good deal because it included the soup. The pork fried rice was delicious. It had red onion and green peppers. No giant chunks of onions or bean sprouts. The General Tso was very good. Not very spicy, but lots of flavor. The chicken was cut into small fork size pieces which didn't have to be cut. First time I've had it like that. I will definitely be ordering here again. read more

Boy did Housaku knock both out of the park! Fresh, clean sushi "fisherman" roll with a spicy kick with some smartly pulled together small hand rolls. Gorgeous presentation even in COVID take out containers. On the Chinese side, hard to decide if the chicken with eggplant in garlic sauce or the Mongolian beef were better. This was our go-to take out Chinese place. Until tonight. Customer service has been lacking, but tonight they made my mom's dish spicy, even though I specified no spice. And they refused to correct their mistake. They were so rude on the phone. My mom couldn't even eat her dinner. They couldn't have cared less. Pad Thai is so delicious! For the flavor I got the chicken. She got a little bit of heat to it but not too bad and it stopped with fresh cilantro. My son got the orange chicken perfect for a five-year-old. We also got coconut Fried Chicken rice what vegetables. There's an option with the rice for meat for Pawn. Unfortunately my family will not be getting take out form here again. We had an issue with our order tonight, when we called back to discuss a solution, we where meet with them not accepting responsibility, they blamed it on us. They should have taken responsibility or at least a 50/50 split on the error, further more they talked while on the phone line in their native language thinking that we would not understand what they were saying. I'm a little rusty but I still remember the inappropriate words when I here them. They should have put the phone on hold if they where going to talk in a poor manner in a foreign language. This is my favorite Chinese food in the area! A lot of places when I order chicken it's too breaded and barely any chicken, this place is completely the opposite! Delicious food. Sushi was good and a good price. I had a sushi platter and my wife ordered a couple rolls. The stand out however were the dumplings we had for appetizer. Fried shrimp dumplings that definately didn't taste like they were dumped from a frozen bag! A slightly more doughy wrapper stuffed with a shrimp filling that had a nice fresh cilantro kick to it. Well, we got this menu dropped off in our mailbox. We get a lot of them, so no big deal. But it was an Asian Fusion menu, and we've not found a good Chinese or Thai as yet in the area. After finishing our scheduled tasks, of course we're hungry again. It happened that we were passing Housaku on our way home. So we stopped in for dinner. On our way in, a family was leaving and they said to us strangers, "Wow, this place is great! You're gonna love it!" Coconut soup, Drunken noodle for her, Avocado salad, red curry for me. Fantastic! Amazing food. I came here with my brother's family after too much ice cream, and still cleaned my plate here. The sushi was wonderfully presented, my kung pao chicken was great, and the staff is really friendly. I've gotten take out twice now and each time the portion is generous and even the take out presentation is lovely! Outstanding! We are always on the look out for good Asian food, particularly Chinese food. Most of my regular places in Danbury and Brookfield are dated and past their prime. This place is new and the food was great. Probably the best General Tso chicken I have had in a long time. We did a couple of spiny tuna rolls which were also great. As for not being five stars, my oh my, the ambiance needs a makeover. Dining out is food AND atmosphere and this place needs some help. It's too bright, needs four-top tables in the middle, the register needs to be in the front with a nice screen to separate the dining area some. I don't know of ANY good dine-in restaurant where the take-out customers have to walk through the dining room to get the food. If the goal is takeout only, well-done! But I assume it's not. There are some easy fixes to make this place really great. read more

This is my favorite sushi Asian fusion restaurant. Food is always great and shushing is to die for. Never disappoints.

We've been coming here for years and this is my first negative experience and it's all due to Covid. We called in our order and was told 20 minutes. I got there at 30 and it still wasn't done. The problem is there is no space to wait there so I had to be outside in the heat. This was even more important as the young lady at the register was wearing her mask without covering her nose. It took a total of 50 minutes to get our food. Have no idea why as only 3 other orders were served during the time. We will not be going back until Covid has retreated which means sometime next year. My husband and I really enjoyed the food here. The dumplings were large and perfectly prepared with a dipping sauce. The entrees were delicious with an extensive menu selection.
