    Mongolian beef with mixed veggies

Consistently good! Too bad they don't have any delivery service.. but the food is delicious, generous portions and reasonably priced. Never disappointed here. I just wish the guy answering the phone can be a little more nice and friendly. He seems miserable running this Chinese joint. Hence the 4 stars.

    Their "Chicken Chow Mein"
    Rajae H.

I ordered a simple chicken chow mein... This is horrible. No flavor at all, better tasting at a fast food chain. I wouldn't be surprised if they literally only got the ingredients, boiled it and called it a day. No seasoning, no sauces. I was confused when I got it and saw that the food looked basically clear. I also had an order of their crispy chicken which is like playing Russian roulette honestly. You either bite into actual crispy chicken or mostly fried batter with a sliver of chicken some how in there.

Veggie with garlic sauce take out

I found it on yelp and reviews of others are very accurate as mixed veggie with garlic sauce which I ordered was fresh veggies and spicy . Fast and great services

Supposedly cold sesame noodles w/ blob on top

I've driven by this place a million times en route to Danbury and always wondered how their takeout was. I should have known better when I found the place completely empty on a Saturday night. Nearly all the food seemed to be reheated and previously prepared. Eggrolls were dry and doughy, just about nothing inside them. I couldn't even get myself to try the cold sesame noodles, they just didn't look right. Ditto for the wontons in hot oil, which appeared to be more of a gooey bolognese sauce with peas and carrots. Very odd. I'd recommend searching around for a place that is busy w/ a lot of takeout business. That's usually a sign of hope.

    Perfect hot and sour soup.

Food is really good. They have been very busy during covid. Quality food. Good service. And complying with masks during covid.

They're super fast and if it's a little bit slow in the kitchen they always apologize for the wait and are thankful.

Waiter was friendly and gave us some time to make our selections. I chose the egg roll, tangerine beef. Hubby chose the orange chicken. I asked the waiter if the soda came in a can. He said yes. We then waited for our meal. He returned quickly with my soda, in a glass with lots of ice. Not what I expected. But I guess I wasn't specific about my drink order. My egg roll was good. Cut decoratively in half at an angle, piping hot. Our food arrived shortly. Both plates were generous and came with white rice. Cut a portion in small pieces to taste with rice. Tasted so good, burned my tongue a little it was so hot. Ate a bit more, and that's when my mouth started burning up! The dish was a little more spicy than I expected. Tried to eat more, but it was too much for me. My hubby on the other hand was in his glory. He Loves heat. The spiciest the better. He tried mine and said it was just as spicy as his, which he loved. So, I just thought we would take mine home for him to enjoy later. I have to say it was good, before I had to cry uncle. So would definitely have to return for another try and let them know I can't take the spiciness. I did notice that the restaurant was busy with takeout orders. So I guess that's their main business. So I wouldn't say this was a cozy place. But the food is good. Lots of parking outside since they're next to a supermarket and liquor store. There weren't any 'lunch' specials, so this was over $50 with tip. By the way, lots to choose from the menu. I only took pictures of some pages.

I got the Pho with duck, and my wife got the crispy duck dinner. Both dishes were "meh" at best. Below average. As far as service... it was harried and we were only one of two couples eating in this "NOT so cozy" restaurant. We went at 5:30 expecting to wait because it was small and "cozy" and it was Chinese New year. (1) no problem eating in during dinner hours (2) not a stitch of celebratory anything for Chinese New Year.. not even a place mat. No chinese noodles at the table and there was one continuous plain bench and brown tables (no table cloths) on the opposite side aka cafe style and cafeteria style seats. Hardly "cozy" at all. Overall high expectations, below average experience, ambiance and food.

Whenever I call, the nice woman who answers is friendly, calls me by name, and demonstrates her appreciation for my business. Yesterday afternoon, 2/13/25, I placed a big order: Wonton soup, pork fried rice, bbq spare ribs, steamed dumplings sesame chicken, and chicken with broccoli. Everything was delicious, cooked freshly, and portions were generous. Some places cut corners by giving less chicken, but Moon Star puts plenty of chicken in the meals. I was allowed to take a 2-liter bottle of soda for free, and to our surprise, there was a HUGE portion of freshly-made fried dough (my wife's favorite!) Secondly, their teenage daughter is answering the phones and providing "customer service" and she couldn't care less about what she's doing and is extremely rude. I hate to criticize a kid but food is super expensive these days and if I'm going to get takeout it should be a better experience than this. The other food I got in the order was just okay. There are better Chinese places around here you could go to instead.

Perfect amount of sauce, tender chicken, perfectly cooked broccoli (still crunchy.) Boneless spareribs. 7.5/10. Honestly, these are the most meaty boneless spareribs I've ever gotten. Usually you get those thin pieces, but these are thick. Only disappointment was I didn't think they had enough sauce on them. So I'll definitely ask for that next time. Steamed dumplings. 6/10. The dumplings themselves are good. A good amount of filling in them, but I just couldn't get into the sauce. It's not your typical savory sauce. This one is sweet, and it just threw off my experience of loving dumplings. Vegetable fried rice. 0/10. Would not recommend. With the disappointing amount of vegetables. (Onion, peas, bean, sprouts, broccoli, water, chestnuts, mushroom) this is by far the worst fried rice I've ever had. It's like an old stale tasting yellow Spanish rice that you get in the bag at the grocery store. I did order online, which is pretty convenient. Now I did go in July to pick up my food, but it was like 90° and so humid in the store. It's like they don't turn on the AC or it wasn't working. I'm trying not to think about the food sitting out in that heat... I guess I'll see how my belly feels later
