This is hands down the best Chinese take out place in the Bethel area. I'll drive miles out of my way to come here and avoid all of the awful places in Bethel and Newtown. Panda Garden is consistent and delicious, a step above in quality. This is the only chinese take out in the area that is worth paying for. Unfortunately they're cash only. We stopped in here for takeout while on the way home. Very unassuming from the outside. The staff was friendly and the food was ready in about 10 minutes as promised. Not as expensive for combination plates as sone other places have been recently. Overall the food was good. The dumplings were amazing. I would go back just for them. I also liked how the chicken was cut into smaller pieces for the General Tso. It allows for more of the sauce to seep into the chicken. Will definitely be getting food here again. read more

Been going there for many years now and can say without hesitation I find it to be the best Chinese takeout in the area meaning Bethel, Danbury, New Fairfield, Brookfield and New Milford. Every dish over the years has been excellent, competitively priced, friendly staff, quick service. Very clean place as well. Favorite dishes include House Special fried rice, House Special lo mein, egg foo young, egg rolls, shrimp with lobster sauce, friend dumplings, general tso chicken, Can't go wrong here. Have always found Han, believe 2nd generation owner, who handles the front, telephone order taking et al to be helpful with questions, polite and accommodating. read more

I ordered a simple chicken chow mein... This is horrible. No flavor at all, better tasting at a fast food chain. I wouldn't be surprised if they literally only got the ingredients, boiled it and called it a day. No seasoning, no sauces. I was confused when I got it and saw that the food looked basically clear. I also had an order of their crispy chicken which is like playing Russian roulette honestly. You either bite into actual crispy chicken or mostly fried batter with a sliver of chicken some how in there. read more

Since the son has taken over the service has gotten worse. if you call for take-out, he will you , " your Oder will be ready in 30 minutes". A complete lie. They only start cooking your order when you arrive in store. So you have to wait another 20 minutes. Total time 50-60 minutes. He tells you, "we are busy". My order is NEVER ready when I pickup. I've driven by this place a million times en route to Danbury and always wondered how their takeout was. I should have known better when I found the place completely empty on a Saturday night. Nearly all the food seemed to be reheated and previously prepared. Eggrolls were dry and doughy, just about nothing inside them. I couldn't even get myself to try the cold sesame noodles, they just didn't look right. Ditto for the wontons in hot oil, which appeared to be more of a gooey bolognese sauce with peas and carrots. I just got a hot and sour soup, and maybe it was just because I was the only person in the store, but it was super fast and probably the best I've ever had at this kind of restaurant. Pretty darn good. Amazing quality veg and very good and abundant meat. Far from over salted. The fault was under spicing, bordering on generic. We got a range of several distinct dishes and most were very similarly seasoned. A little more bold and distinctive and it would have been amazing. It is a bargain given the massive quantity of fresh, hand chopped ingredients. Will try again and be extra careful to pick very distinctive dishes. read more

Panda garden has been our go to place for takeout Chinese. Every meal I have had has been as good or better then any other Chinese I have had. When we have out of town guests and order they always rave about the pork fried rice! If they tell you it will be done in 15 minutes you can be confident that it will be on time! read more

Had lunch there a few months ago, and the Kung Pao Chicken was excellent. Tried it again last night with my family and everything was tasteless. Had the Kung Pao Chicken again, Sesame Chicken, and Wonton Soup. Everything was tasteless and dry (no sauce). The only thing that was good were the boneless spare ribs. read more

Solid place for take out. I go to Panda Garden fairly regularly and they always make hot, fresh food. I really enjoy the general tso chicken as well as the sweet and sour chicken choices. Note that they are cash or check only but the service is always pleasant. It's usually the same young gentleman behind the counter.
