I originally removed my review because I was stood corrected in terms of my inquiry having no response. I had a call the next day regarding what exactly needed to be done and I was then instructed to send photos in for an estimate. Okay, so I send the photos in and wait for an estimate before I can schedule an appointment. Since this repair was for a business, I asked Sara if I could have an estimate in by the end of day after sending an email earlier the same day. I didn't get a response, not even a "no, we cannot." It's now 4pm on a Monday and still have not heard back. I don't want to leave a one star review for this company because it seems like I'm one of very few who have ever had problems. Wow, this was the answer to my many household to do items. I got a text reminder for the appointment and another with the info that he was on his way. Brian Saul was right on time, had every tool needed, some I didn't even know we would need, and got straight to work. Hung a pottery barn office system I had over a year. Finished so quickly he had time to hang a huge mirror that I didn't include in the request. They are able to do so many of those repair jobs I'm making a list for the next call. House Calls Etc came out this week to tackle about 15 small projects that I have been sitting on for several months wanting to get done. Talked to Brain over email and once in person. House Calls has roughly 4 guys who do the work and I can recommend their service with 5 stars after Tony helped us this week. He completed 15 small jobs with ease and quickness. He made it easy on us and efficient. At the end of the I was running around the house trying to figure out if there was something else he could fix. They are reasonably priced, prompt, courteous and offer suggestions and alternative solutions to safe money/time. All around 5 stars guys. Good work! read more

Estimate was reasonable, guys were nice and no complaints about the work. Final cost came in approximately $300 higher than the high end estimate. Time was clearly padded, charges are unclear and impossible to decipher from the invoice. Charges for 2.5 hours worth of work came in close to a large plumbing job and 3 x a more complicated electrical job currently underway. Responding to my concerns but unbelievably overpriced..would not use again nor recommend. read more

I have been working with this company now for years for my 1926 house. I have had Brian, Jeffrey, Istvan, Garret and Sara over. They have worked on many projects, including siding, windows, door locks, bathroom tiles, painting, range hood, ceiling repair. The most important aspect about this company is that they are organized. I have dealt with other contractors who tell you they will show up at a certain time, so you make arrangements with your work schedule, and they don't show up. When it came time to prepare my condo for new window installation, I called House Calls Etc because a friend recommended them. Garret George arrived right on time, worked quickly and efficiently and did everything I needed. He helped me move furniture, removed window sills and blinds in preparation for replacement. He cleaned as he went, vacuuming up debris and taking materials left from the demolition out to his truck so he could dispose of them. In addition, he was friendly and helpful. They were beyond excellent and I will definitely be using them for projects I need done in my own home. 1st of all, a real live person actually answers the phone & she, Sara, is competent, cheerful & professional. She immediately followed thru on getting an estimate done, then once I approved it, an appointment for the actual repair was scheduled. They showed up, did the work & did it well. Brian is truly a jack of all trades! We had quite the list of items - and he was able to professionally finish every item (Drywall, Caulking, Grout Cleaning, Painting, Baseboard Installation) - the works! Not only is he a skilled professional - but he is a total perfectionist. His standards were much higher than mine - and he made sure each project was done to its absolute highest level of excellence. He provides a realistic quote ahead of the project and (gasp!) stays within the quote to complete the project. No extra billing / add-ons here! What a pleasant turn from some of my previous contractor experiences where surprise costs always seem to creep in to the final invoice. He comes fully equipped with every tool he will need for the job, works cleanly and leaves the work area cleaner than when he arrived. I had a great experience with this company. First, the office staff was very helpful and responsive and got me scheduled quickly. The information provided was timely and accurate as to pricing. Their base rate is $185 which includes two hours of work. That seems very reasonable to me. My handyperson, Claymore, did a great job. He was very efficient with his time, even in having to run to Lowe's to get a necessary part. He did a great job in a timely manner and I have been very happy with the results.
