My boyfriend and I recently bought a townhouse and have been working with Brian and his team for the last year now. We first hired Brian and his team to paint three levels of our home, and also fix some other small things around the house. They did a really fantastic job! Brian was quick to come back to work on paint touch ups, etc. As far as scheduling went, Sara was great about communicating when and what time the work will start and finish. We've recently been dealing with a major water damage issue to our townhouse and hired House Calls to do the job. I was completely overwhelmed with what was happening to our townhouse, and I never thought this place could be fixed, but Brian and Istvan reassured me that they could take care of the repairs in no time. Istvan was the one who first came out to start the work to our rooftop deck. He's walked us through the repairs that were going to be made and keeps us in the loop of what the next steps will be to complete it. He's also extremely skilled, kind and professional! I'm not usually a review writer, so bare with me -- I'd like to give a shout out to this company; Me and my partner dealt with Home Depot where we bought the garbage disposal (replacement for broken one at home) we saw online they offered installment services, after talking with customer service she informed us they no longer did that. Ok cool. So we have a new GD but neither of us can do this installment. I call Lowes; they tell me they DO do the service we wanted but we'd have to return the Home Depot GD and purchase theirs, ok we get why you do what you do, but come on I don't have that availability to do that with a 6 month old. We contacted House Calls Etc to have a hole repaired in the ceiling. Sara provided us with an estimate of the range of costs for the repair and a proposed schedule in a very timely fashion. The repair technician was supposed to arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 AM on the first day, Monday. He arrived at 8:15 AM and proceeded to meticulously insert the sheetrock patch and apply two coats of "mud". He then departed after cleaning up very carefully and returned on Wednesday to complete the repair (sanding, texturing and painting). After the repair, all traces of the damage to the ceiling were gone and the work area was clean and neat. The technician, Claymore, was really very careful and well-versed in the nuances of his work. In addition, when I received the final bill, it was about $200 less than the lower end of the estimated range. This, I believe, was a combination of the repair going smoothly and the competence of the technician. We are very happy with the service and treatment we got from House Calls Etc. read more

Huge Shout out to Sarah who I spoke with on the telephone and scheduled my appointment. She was an expert in understanding my need of having a television mounted using a ceiling mount and besides being an absolutely genuine and excellent communicator, she was able to match me with the "right person for the job". My technician Fredric was just a equally amazing. Funny, Professional, knowledgeable, and was a perfectionist. He was not only able to complete the job in both a timely and professional way, he also followed up to ensure our happiness a few days later. Oh and did I mention that due to a cancellation in their schedule I was able to get same day service! I cant not recommend House Calls ETC. enough. What a great experience! I exchanged many emails regarding a ceiling fan installation which I thought was going to be fairly complicated. I sent photos and described the challenges. I received an estimate which was reasonable, considering the possible scope of the job (including drywall work). I also have a challenging schedule to work around, and Sara was very accommodating in fitting time in for me. Istvan arrived on time and quickly figured out that the installation was going to be very straightforward. He installed the fan and wall switch, all the while engaged in friendly conversation. When that was finished, there was still time left on the two-hour minimum, so he asked if there was anything else he could do. He installed a couple of shelves that had been sitting around waiting for me to put up. Istvan is very personable and knowledgeable AND he worked on a Saturday! We recently had our bathroom floor re-tiled and Istvan did an outstanding job. He was responsive to all of our suggestions and extremely patient with us, haha. Very wide range of knowledge as well. Strongly recommend these guys for pretty much any kind of project. I first had them out to fix a few small issues around the house (wonky door, towel hook that ripped some drywall out, etc) and the help was fantastic and painless. Awhile later I had some water damage (deck leaking into ceiling) and they really shined: they came out fast, helped diagnose the problem, and then proceeded over just a few short days to totally replace my deck and rebuild my interior. Throughout the process they were highly communicative, taught me a few tricks, and even provided many chances to save money (like grabbing my own paint before their next visit instead of them just racking up hours). I would recommend these guys to anyone! It's a shame they don't go all over the greater Seattle area or have a chain because I would pick these technicians any day of the week to do the work needed around my house. They seriously saved me some money by spotting a weakness in weather - stripping that, when the hard sideways rain came earlier this week, prevented a ton of water in which would have destroyed the drywall around it. They hung up some pictures for me in a way I would expect someone from a gallery - with precision and delicacy. I have no intention of ever using another handyman service the next time I need something done around the house. Had a great experience with House Calls Etc. Sara was prompt to answer my emails and phone call, she corresponded with me to help get the appointment setup. Istvan arrived on time and got straight to work on my project repairing damaged baseboards and reinforcing two railings in front of my house. He was quick and thorough in his job and at a few points we stopped and strategized about how to move forward with the project as new things were discovered (mold for instance). Great team. Both handymen on my job were competent, patient, good at communicating, and respectful. I did this job remotely and they did a fantastic job talking me through everything on the phone, giving me options, and setting clear expectations. As a female landlord who is a LEED AP, I know what I'm going for but I don't know the technical issues involved. It is a rare and prized technician is clear and patient without being disdainful, especially for remote work. They both nailed it, and the office support staff was very competent as well. I love House Calls! One of our guests kept getting headaches and sneezing when using one of our showers. The bathroom was in need of a face lift anyway, so Istvan came in to remodel and upon demo found there was mold in the wall behind the tile shower surround. He removed the mold and rebuilt the shower, and floor, and it looks amazing! I noticed that my bedroom floor over my garage felt cold in the winter and found there was no insulation. Istvan put in the insulation and covered it with plastic so we would not have insulation floating around. The bathroom works and looks great and my floor is warm . read more

I have to say that service with these folks is great. From the time you get them on the phone to the finished product. I had a very large hole in my living room ceiling. The upstairs neighbors had a leak and it destroyed a big portion of my ceiling. Brian and his crew patched it very well. The hole err whole process was done over the course of about 3 days allowing drying time for the topping compound in between visits. Finally they came in and textured and painted. Not only were they impeccably clean and professional, they even went out of their way to look at a few other items that weren't even on the to do appointment list like possible wood rot on my window sills.
