She is immensely personably and a great conversationalist. She does all of the work herself, and it, from what I can see in her shop/studio, is most elegant and high-quality. It is not everyday you find such ethical and equitable business practices still in effect nowadays, and I immediately felt that with her. The first time I used them it was after I had already gone to Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc. When I finally went to Picture Perfect, I assumed they would be more expensive as a "specialist" versus a "big box" chain. I was wrong. The price they gave me was actually a little less. With the second print I didn't even think of anyone else to take it to. The service was great and they seem to be perfectionists. I don't do a lot of framing for the larger stuff (its expensive) and the smaller things I usually take care of with the do-it-yourself framing from the big box stores, but when I feel like I need to get custom framing done, this is where I'll always go. There is a center chicken lane that all of the other stores empties out of and sometimes you have to wait quite a while before you can maneuver your way outta there. I never knew I needed a pencil so badly. They carry the Ferris Wheel Press inks and a few others but I can't remember the name. Most of the inks cost the same as they would online but you don't have to pay shipping and you can view the swatches to get a good idea of the color you're buying. I have a very extensive inherited art collection, and have had restorations done in London, Italy,…read moreFlorida, and after a recent move which proved to be disastrous from Florida, an art restorer recommended to me by a local museum, based in Nashville. All have been amazing, and can only heap praise upon them. Having so many paintings I did ask around in Atlanta for an added restorer, and was given the name of Avery Gallery. Perhaps the first giveaway was that they charged $175.00 for the trip to my home in central Midtown Atlanta. They are based in Marietta. No art restorer in the World has ever levied this charge to me before. After having two small paintings for several months I did receive a call that they were ready. The paintings have been in my family's possession for hundreds of years and were quite frankly filthy from years of being subjected to European pollution. Thus the actual condition of the canvas and or copper plate (of one of them) was not known, or obviously apparent. Reading the banner advertisement of Avery Gallery it clearly states that they are a gallery, framers, and art restorers. Upon collecting the paintings today I was horrified to see that, yes the paintings had been cleaned, but no restorations were effected. There were blemishes that were perhaps there from before, but had been well disguised by the aforementioned filth. The owner of the gallery was summoned, and he informed me that he had asked me whether I needed to have paint inplants done at the time of the pick up. Since I had never been asked this question before, I replied in the negative. The paintings were in no way "restored" and since I never received a phone call to advise me that by the cleaning process blemishes had surfaced, I remained very disappointed. perhaps since this "restorer" is a small little strip mall in the middle of the suburbs should also have warned me that they were in over their head. I have now arranged for the painting to be sent to New York to be restored.If you have art to restore I strongly suggest you find an alternative.
