My dad lives on the big island and I ran into an issue with shipping his Christmas present this year because it was a very long package (94x9x3, 20lbs). I researched a ton of other shippers and they all wanted $200+ (FedEx was $400!). HouseMart has a shipping calculator on their site and it came out to be $38. They have a minimum shipping fee of $50, which I found totally reasonable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They were very prompt in answering emails and sending update.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When my package arrived at their warehouse they opened it to make sure everything was there and undamaged. They sent me a bunch of pictures to review. Their boat leaves every Friday and their website estimates 14 days to get to the big island. It took a bit longer but I'm sure that's because of the holidays. My package was delivered to the Ace Hardware in Hilo. My dad had absolutely no trouble picking it up. TL:DR - their service was great and an affordable price. They were very prompt with communications and my item arrived in great condition. Found a nice leather office chair online, but the seller would only ship to addresses on the mainland. I found HouseMart by Googling around a little bit, and they were excellent!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]They always responded to my emails within an hour (at least during the workday), and their responses were very detailed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When the chair arrived at their warehouse in LA, they opened up the boxes to make sure nothing was broken, and sent me about 20 pictures to confirm, even identifying the tiniest little scratches/imperfections, to make sure I was okay with it. Then they put it on a boat to Oahu, and it got here maybe 10 days later. And they did all this for an amazing price. Had IKEA in Carson, CA send 15 pieces of furniture in 19 boxes to Housesmart's warehouse in the same town. They opened all boxes and took photos to ensure that we were happy with the condition before forwarding to Oahu. As described on their website, they ship every Friday and typically take two weeks to reach Hawaii. The packages were delivered as promised to Kailua for pickup. Upon opening the packages, we were very impressed with the care taken to repackage all boxes; you could hardly tell they were opened at all! Considering how much attention and labor was required to check all the boxes and how quickly they delivered, the amount they charged was very reasonable. Also, Kim was extremely responsive via email, answering any questions and concerns to our satisfaction. Would definitely use them again for our future forwarding needs to Oahu. read more

I found Housemart Shipping to be the CHEAPEST and BEST service for Oahu shipping. Previously, I would ship IKEA furniture through one of the most commonly used companies on Oahu but they started having huge delays and eventually a warehouse closure in 2024 with most orders going unfulfilled and requiring chargebacks. I desperately wanted to get my latest order of furniture in before Christmas and luckily stumbled upon Housemart through some googling. While there is a minimal effort required versus the other company, [[HIGHLIGHT]]Housemart's website instructions were clear and easy to follow though perhaps outdated to every possible website you could order from as I could not fill out the C/O address for IKEA's online order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sent an email to Housemart asking what to do and Kim responded to me **within 3 minutes** that it wouldn't be a problem when the warehouse manually checks for the order. I used Housemart's new shipping service to get a heavy steel scuba tank shipped from the mainland to me in Kailua Kona, HI and it worked great in every way. I ordered the tank from an online store on the mainland and they shipped it free to Housemarts facility in California which shipped it to Kailua Kona, Hawaii and I picked up the scuba tank at my local Ace Hardware store in Kailua Kona.
