THIS HUGE GASH WENT UNNOTICED AND UNTREATED BY THE MEDICAL STAFF AT THIS EMERGENCY CENTER.

Mother was brought in after a fall. She suffers from dementia so she is not able to advocate for herself. She was seen for lacerations and observation for a concussion. During the exam no one noticed this gash in the crease of her lip. My sister noticed the gash the next day. Sister called to voice concern of the gash they asked said to bring Momma in. I took her into the center and waited for hour plus for the doctor to tell me that they would not do anything to address the issue because it was past 12 hours. Why would you waste our time and take my mother through the changes? The only thing the doctor did was give us a prescription for an anti-biotic. He could have done that over the phone.

Well it's flu season and wouldn't you know it, the youngest had a fever all day over the weekend. This was the closest urgent care location to the boys doctor so I gave them a try. I was greeted nicely. I came in at about 4am and taken back almost immediately. Now my little one was not cooperative. He didn't want to get on the scale. He didn't want to lay in the bed. It all worked out thanks to the wonderful RN's on staff! They were patient, gentle, and kind and friendly. Unfortunately he snagged that doggone fluB and was miserable for the rest of the week. But we made it through! The Sun has shined again on us. Just an FYI you have United Healthcare insurance they will not be taking your insurance after the 31st of DECEMBER 2019.

I Give 2 stars only for the Women Doctor I had on my first visit! My god , only if you knew your service was amazing. I wish I could remember your name but sadly, I don't . Hopefully you remember by reading this if you do I would love this to be heard ! I went here to this place in heartbreaking pain, I couldn't really describe! I have a Certain skin disease to where I get Example of the picture below, Sorry for the gruesome image . By my name is Kendrick Woodrow I came in here , and received the best care I could of received in my opinion she took her time and explained everything with me , she was patient and also very nice to me my god . I loved the experience and wanted to go back if I had a problem again . Sadly I did one day , the problem came back quicker than expectations and I had to . My friend took me I both times and he agrees , guy Dr I that took care of me the second time My god it was like the scariest day ever with a doctor! Just rude not emotions , he could careless about the shape I was in or how I felt , he was rushing me and telling me that he was busy and had too many patients while having a needle in my arm and my screaming saying please , to give me a second he then proceeded to my arm with the blade , not trying to sound dramatic or anything bc if you know me I'm not at all , the guy showed no remorse in my pain I was furious at this point ,he then began to press up on me like to kinda hold me still , I'm still screaming so gently hold my arm out against him telling him that he was hurting me and he didn't care he told me this I had to be this don't or I'd be in pain either way . Once I pushed my arm out he told me the I was going to hurt him and that strong I was going to hurt the both of us ! I then explained to the Doctor which I don't think he like but had to be said that , I've been to this location once before and the Women Dr , did not do it this way nor did she hurt me even if she didn't care she Dam sure acted liked it and i felt it after she put the numbing cream on the BOIL she SIMPLY GAVE ME ABOUT 3-5 mins and then came back and asked me how did it feel before she tried to cut me open !! This is a situation I don't ever really go to the doctor for I just go through the terrible pain at home when I can but I took a chance and this guy has scared me Soo bad ! I'm also in pain as in type this out every time I get one of theses boils I think of the pain and Terrible feeling and experience that guy left me with ! Sad to say I do t feel safe to go again !

It's overcrowded and long wait times!!! I opt for this option and at the time of admission NO Wait and NO line. I was surprised and kept telling the ER nurse and she said don't jinx us! About 3 hours later the lobby was full of patients waiting and every ER room was full. Applauding the ER staff for their attentiveness and prompt care. Hospitals claim that all systems can pull up history from different hospitals but it seems confusing because only the doctors are able to get this done?!! Fairly new building from the outside. Super freezing in the ER. Bring a coat!

The second time was 8.28.26 from 8pm-2am. On the average that seems like a normal amount of time for an emergency room. They were quick to take my vitals and put me in a room to wait. The chairs were the most uncomfortable chairs ever made. When it was time to hook up and IV we were sent to chairs in the hallway; where we stayed the rest off of the time on the first visit. (These chairs were much better!-Thank goodness!) The nurses were nice and helpful. To be honest I don't know the name of a single doctor or nurse that came to see me. No one introduced themselves to me. The level of care I received was fine. Not great and not bad on my first visit. The second visit the doctor came and talked to me. She did not even examine me. She asked questions and left. I am praying I don't have to go to ANY ER any time soon.

AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PANDEMIC…read more If I could give -5 stars I would. I was sent by my primary care physician after hours and the doc on call did not want to do the procedure she called ahead for me on. He gave every excuse as to why I shouldn't- seems like if someone is sent by their doctor- you do the procedure. They went for a dang reason. It's been a week and I am still sick. Covid seems to have brought the worst out of people and this guy is definitely 1. New management doesn't seem to have made a difference. He was smiling when I left. He was either lazy or evil. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS FAST AS YOU CAN. Worst doc I have ever had the unfortunate displeasure to experience. And that is saying A LOT.

After completing the initial paperwork, Bill took us back to an exam room. We discussed my issue and the proceeded to have my blood pressure and temperature taken. Bill walked me through the process with expertise and kindness. It was determined I needed a cat scan so Cathy took over and walked me through the process with ease and whimsy. We were there for awhile because I needed several tests to try to figure out what was causing my pain but that's to be expected and was not an issue. Meghan checked me out without pressure or a judging look like I have previously experienced at other places. I actually felt good about paying! This was probably the most enjoyable ER visit, despite my pain issue, I have ever had. Thank you Cathy, Bill and Meghan! Y'all are awesome!

In short I'm currently a patient & I'm demanding a transfer to another hospital. At first the doctor told me transfers are usually declined. Their 2 1/2 star rating over all doesn't inspire much confidence & leaves a lot to be desired.

Immediately after entering the doors, a woman the front desk greeted us and asked us what brought us in. We both explained my symptoms and she had nicely asked me to put on a mask for precautionary measures. Filled out paperwork and was immediately brought to the back to a room. I had a nurse take my vitals and asked me for all my meds that I have been taking. He tested me for the flu and no less than 5 mins, results came back positive. A doctor saw me in between the 5 min wait and she was extremely helpful and nice. She was astonished how I was not treated properly at a physician's office that she was familiar with. Regardless, they gave me moltrin and started me on tamiflu and I was feeling better instantly. That was all it took with an additional $250 copay. So grateful for proper care, yet so broke.

I had robotic assisted colon surgery at this hospital…read more On the day of surgery, I arrived at the hospital at 6am for a 8am start. I was promptly checked-in by the lady at registration and then walked over to the surgical waiting room. After waiting about five minutes, I was taken back to the pre-op area, where I was prepped for my surgery. All the surgical staff, from the pre-op nurse to my surgical team took excellent care of me. Upon completion of my surgery, I was taken to the recovery room, after which I was transferred to a room in the hospital, as I was admitted as a in-patient after my surgery. All the nurses and patient techs on the floor took excellent care of me and were very responsive to my needs. In conclusion, I had a very good surgery & in-patient experience at this hospital.

This place is HORRIBLE!!!…read more Seriously, I took my spouse here due to the recommendation of urgent care doctor at CareNow on Barker Cypress( beware) He stated he checked him in already and we wouldn't have to wait (lies). The name he gave as a reference no one in the ER knew that person (smh). Blood pressure was 191/137 and all we kept hearing was that it was bad for his BP to be that elevated but yet they did NOTHING to bring it down. First excuse was don't want to take it down to fast but after a full day there BP still sitting at 191/132. HCA is a complete failure of an hospital, they allowed him to lay there with a fever and high BP without given him proper treatment. How are you a care facility and allow someone to suffer just to run his insurance up. Took blood seven times and only gave us one result and when I asked the nurse she pulled up his chart after the fourth test and there were only the first results and even she said that was "strange". When LAB came back she stopped the lady from drawing asking for results and orders for all the lab work. (???) I asked the next shift about his labs, and the infection they claimed they were treating, NOTHING. I was told they were texting the NP to come speak to us but she never responded to them. How unprofessional and uncaring is that. He was given his sixth round of Hydralazine (10) which has done nothing for his BP. Finally at 9 am 9/9/26, day two of us at HCA with his BP in double three digits, he was given 50 mg of Losartan which helped a little but only took him to 161/92. There was no follow up after four hours. The time it took me to go to my Dr appointment in Spring. I called several times after I left and only person came in was the lab again (??) and we still haven't gotten any results from the last 8 draws. When I arrived back and entered into his room, he was sitting in the chair with a distress look saying the girl just took BP 191/120 and fever of 111 but she said she couldn't give him anything and she had to text the NP who never answered the last text about his labs and stool sample. He was hot and clammy at touch and said he was miserable. Seeing him like this, I requested that they unhook him and took him to a REAL hospital up 290, The Methodist. Within 15 minutes he had Clonidine and another medicine to help bring his BP down. The ER staff were very polite, professional and took the time to discuss the process and procedures with us. I wish I would have made this decision before EVER stepping foot into HCA hospital. The only reason I gave one star is because it was one nurse in that whole hospital that had integrity and when I asked her about his BP, she took one look and said he should have been given Clonidine. But by that time, I was not able to allow the unethical practices of the doctors and NP's before her to continue to play with his health any longer. This is a hospital where people go to seek help not to be used for their insurance and I felt that they played Russian Roulette with my spouse's life. They kept saying his BP was dangerously high and it could damage his organs but failed to treat him with ethical and professional care. Instead they played with his health and did barely minimal in order to prolong his stay and charge is insurance. If Methodist was not an option, I would rather go to Ben Taub before I ever go to a HCA facility again. I work in one of the largest healthcare systems in Harris County and I gave the benefit of the doubt when referred to HCA, but NEVER EVER again. All I saw was unethical practices, breach of HIPPA laws and my love one's health came second to people who took oaths to serve the needs of others in their illness. I guess ethical standards are not a required to practice at HCA Hospitals.

Emergency care is something, unfortunately, I have been the recipient of multiple times in my life. The service that I received here was severely lacking. The short version is that I went to Parkway ER with a broken tibia and fibula in my leg. - They sent me home with insufficient medicine to counter the excruciating pain, and told me to return the next day if I was still in pain and they'd prescribe something stronger, and not charge me for the visit. - I returned following morning after a sleepless night for stronger medication, was denied, and was charged for my 2nd visit. - The doctor on-call sent me to the hospital saying his "buddy" had to operate on me right away to repair my broken leg. His "buddy" doctor even wasn't at the hospital, and they couldn't perform surgery due to swelling. I spent the night needlessly in the hospital because they wouldn't release me without approval from the absent doctor. (If I had left without approval, insurance wouldn't have covered my stay.) - The "buddy" doctor did not have the capability of ordering the proper strength of pain medicine, luckily an orthopedic surgeon heard about my case, and made sure I had proper pain medicine administered by the nurses. There were many other issues regarding the competence of the Parkway ER staff, and I recommend going to another 24 hr ER clinic. While it was close proximity to my house, the suffering is not worth the convenience. I wish I could rate them zero stars due to the incompetence and pain I endured, but that is not an option on Yelp.
