I was promptly checked-in by the lady at registration and then walked over to the surgical waiting room. After waiting about five minutes, I was taken back to the pre-op area, where I was prepped for my surgery. All the surgical staff, from the pre-op nurse to my surgical team took excellent care of me. Upon completion of my surgery, I was taken to the recovery room, after which I was transferred to a room in the hospital, as I was admitted as a in-patient after my surgery. All the nurses and patient techs on the floor took excellent care of me and were very responsive to my needs. In conclusion, I had a very good surgery & in-patient experience at this hospital.

Sometimes taking 2 days before Dr called back. Different nurse every day made it harder. Can't leave a message on caseworker voicemails as it disconnects the call. They did not move my mom enough in the bed and she has horrible bed sores now. We kept getting different info on her status from different doctors - they apparently don't talk to each other. One one issue, thyroid, we were told she would need to come back as an outpatient and have a biopsy done on it. What? She's already there. Then, another doctor says she needs to have it drained. She was so weak and could not use her hands/arms to try and feed herself. They would leave the food in the room and sometimes did not come back to try and feed her. There's so much more to this story that I can't list it all here from a 2-week experience. I can only say that they may be close to the house, but we will never send our parents there again!

I was very clear about my condition, but the doctor documented it inaccurately ('gets sleep here and there'), which minimized the severity of what I was experiencing. On top of that, he asked me three separate times if I was on cocaine, which felt accusatory and dismissive instead of supportive. He told me he wouldn't prescribe anything stronger than Benadryl--even though I had already tried that--and I had to call my OB to get real help. When I decided to leave AMA, the doctor and staff became very rude and tried to delay us from leaving. Overall, I felt belittled and dismissed instead of cared for. Sleep deprivation is a serious medical issue, and I hope future patients will be taken more seriously.

After completing the initial paperwork, Bill took us back to an exam room. We discussed my issue and the proceeded to have my blood pressure and temperature taken. Bill walked me through the process with expertise and kindness. It was determined I needed a cat scan so Cathy took over and walked me through the process with ease and whimsy. We were there for awhile because I needed several tests to try to figure out what was causing my pain but that's to be expected and was not an issue. Meghan checked me out without pressure or a judging look like I have previously experienced at other places. I actually felt good about paying! We were in and out in about an hour, they even gave us a free pen and a coke from their fridge. They took our insurance and so the copay was only $60, which isn't too bad considering the relief we all felt to have Dad feeling better.
