The gentleman that was cking us in was not very personable at all. But fine it was late i just wanted a nice room and bed to lay on after 5+hr drive.. downhill from there...the room was disgusting! And the second night our room key didn't work. Its just run down. Needs improvements. And personnel training!

I was in town to support my friends that were running in the Boston Marathon. To save a few bucks, I stayed out here in Quincy where the daily room rates were a lot more reasonable. When I arrived to check-in, I saw that they were doing some finishing touches with renovations. The stairwell smelled like the place was just given a fresh coat of paint. The room that I was given was on the second floor and looked to be in good shape. I found everything to be in good working order. They had breakfast starting from 6:30 am every morning. It was easy enough for me to get where I needed to go by taking the MBTA light rail from the nearby Wollaston station.

I didn't expect much but having to clean the toilet seat myself before using it was a bit much. See the picture of the floor for an example of how dirty the bathroom was. The man working the front desk flat out refused to give me a fresh pillowcase or sheet (I'd have changed the bed myself) and the bedding was not clean Overwhelming smell of industrial cover up air 'freshener' which I tried to alleviate by opening the tiny mildewed window. I ended up going out to buy Lysol spray for every surface and a cheap throw blanket to sleep on. Thankfully it was just one night and the day staff were very pleasant.

This place looks great on the outside newly fresh paint building but on the inside it's absolutely disgusting the curtains were so dirty the bathroom sink was all banged up I didn't even spend the night here I left never again don't go here and there shady looking people walking around too. Room 210 Beware. Not worth $150 per night.

Three fire trucks were on scene; however, after 90 minutes they still hand't turned off the fire alarm blaring in all halls and rooms.

The deafening fire alarm went off at 12:08 in the middle of the night and stayed on for a minimum of one hour. It went off again after the fire department left. By then it was 1:15 AM and the temperature outside was -8 Fahrenheit. When I asked the night time desk clerk when the alarm would be permanently shut off, he got all upset. He is an unhealthy, nervous little fellow with an ashen facial complexion. He was very condescending calling me questions "rhetorical" and waving his hands all over in front of me. I told him twice not to touch me. After the second time he told me to stop talking to other hotel guests . A few minutes later, totally unable to take control of his broken water pipe, he yelled at me again and told me he wanted me to leave the premises and never call back. He then changed it to you have 15 minutes to pack up and leave before I call the police. It was his broken water pipe, it was his fire alarm blaring hotel wide for over and hour and it was -8 F outside when he threw me out. The hotel is OK but this guy is a total jackass!

The bed was very comfortable, just loved it

I just completed a 5 night stay (March 13-18) here and was quite satisfied. Upon my arrival, the front desk clerk Lindsay was quick to react to the issue of my original room not being ready. Lindsay was very apologetic and quickly arranged for a new room to be assigned to me. The daily breakfasts provided to all guests were hot, delicious and a variety of other items (toast, bagels, mini donuts, muffins and pastries) were also quite fresh and yummy. I would like to give a special 'shout out' to James Ford of the kitchen staff. This young man was very personable, had an infectious smile and disposition that was refreshing. I also appreciated his tips on how to navigate through the city to make my experience that much better for someone who was new to the area. Based upon this experience, I will definitely return to this hotel during my next visit to Quincy. I love the rich history of this city and the state of Massachusetts and I really enjoyed myself. Thank you

We checked in late on a Thursday evening and were quickly given the keys to our room. To our surprise, the room was almost like a suite. It had a king sized bed, a pull-out couch, and a full kitchen (with a regular sized fridge). This came as a surprise to us! We thoroughly enjoyed the convenient location of the hotel and the complimentary breakfast too. The hotel itself was busy with other guests and had a good energy to it. The staff was accommodating and kind. We will definitely stay here again if in Quincy and you should too!

There were also lots of power and USB outlets throughout the room. Climate control unit was very efficient and quiet enough. Ice maker on every floor. Water and coffee available for free all day in the lobby. Free continental breakfast in the lobby was more than adequate...offering fruit, cereal, breads, yogurt, as well as some hot options including bacon. sausage, omelettes and eggs. Fitness Center was better than expected with modern treadmill and elliptical machines. Conveniently located right off of Newport Avenue and near Hancock Street (3A). Lots of shops and eating options in the immediate area. Very close to the North Quincy (Red) T Train Station. Parking was $15 per night.

(While I see reviews concerning a relative lack of parking, between the transit station and the swarm of Ubers in the area, why bother bringing a car at all?) As with IHG hotels generally, there is a daily well-prepared buffet breakfast with numerous options. The desk clerks are accommodating, the rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and one can rent rooms with kitchenettes. About the only fly in the ointment is that the decor is depressingly corporate (dark brown and taupe), but it's not as if I have dinner parties in my hotel room. Just FYI, this is the same operation as "Staybridge Suites - Quincy," and whichever one at which you register, you'll wind up here.

If the Marriott is going to host weddings and other events, they should designate sections of the hotel for event people to stay in so that regular guests don't have to hear loud talking, shouting, loud music, kids running through the halls, doors opening and slamming at 1:00 in the morning, etc. I've stayed in other hotels that were hosting weddings, but the hotel management in those places knew how to organize space to make wedding attendees and regular guests both comfortable. Not this Marriott, sadly. And I am a Marriott Bonvoy member. FYI, no lobby coffee. Starbucks opens at 6. Early morning in the lobby there is rather loud piped in music, so I tried to go outside for peace and quiet -- wrong -- the patio was blocked off for somebody's special wedding event, at 6:30 in the morning already. There is no other outdoor seating. Also, there is no microwave in the room, which is a normal amenity for even lower priced hotels. Water $5 in the lobby market. There is a mini fridge in the room.
