She was articulated with providing all the needed specs for all of Miele appliances to make sure that it would fit with our kitchen design and layout. Diane was very knowledgeable about Miele and made this whole stressful situation enjoyable and lovely. She went above and beyond to make sure that our appliances arrive on time and scheduled delivery times that fit well with our construction timeline. She followed through with every single delivery and provided us completed serial numbers to register our warranty. My wife and I are long time Howard's customers. Every house we've ever owned has appliances from Howard's with warranties to match. We had gone to our local Howard's to buy all brand new appliances (washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave) and had transferred approx $15,000 from savings to checking to do so. We arrived shortly after 3 pm at the Howard's location 16366 Beach Boulevard, Westminster, Ca 92683. Upon arriving, a young lady offered to help us and started showing us a washer and dryer stackable. She had the most rude and condescending manner of anyone I have ever known. We immediately turned around to leave choosing not to engage with someone obviously having a bad day. Her coworker near the front door had seen the exchange and asked if he could help us. We declined and left the store. We are both retired with my wife as a long time school teacher and myself as a software engineer. We both were so offended and saddened that the company we have loved for over 30 years has descended into a company so uncaring of its loyal customers. Suffice to say, we will not be buying over $15,000 worth of appliances from Howard's. More than anything, we are just sad. read more

Howard's has always been super! But DO NOT BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM EPIC PROTECT! They are an Epic disaster! It took 4 weeks to get a 1 year old Electrolux clothes washers door lock replaced. One "service center person", George, took my call and said repair was scheduled but never did it. 4 days later, Joe did do it and it finally got fixed. Electrolux service puts these calls at the bottom of their priority list to fill their slack moments. Love Howard's! However, they delivered one serial number to our house but reported a second serial number to the warranty company. That didn't help much either. read more

My first purchase was a TV during their customer appreciation event. They offered no tax on purchases made that evening and they had In-n- Out outside giving out free burgers to their customers. JR was the Product Specialist that helped me. He is knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I have since been back to purchase a mattress set and a refrigerator. They actually have appliances that you can test out (Laundry, Dishwashers, Ranges and Coffee Stations). DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES HERE. Honestly buy them at Best Buy, or from another small business but not here. 11 months ago we came to this Howard's and met with a guy who was the equivalent of a used car salesman. He upsold us on a refrigerator and dishwasher with the extended warranty saying that by spending more money we were going to have less problems. The refrigerator was delivered the next day- the dish washer not so much. We waited 2 months for the dish washer that the guy told us was definitely going to be in stock "in the next few weeks." I'm not an unreasonable person, if he had told us it would be two months we probably would have picked up a different dishwasher. He told us with the extended warranty that we wouldn't have to deal with the manufacturer, that we could just come in and see them- and having dealt with manufacturers before this was appealing so we spent the ridiculous prices on warranties. Well surprise surprise the refrigerator is now not working. We went to the manual, we did all the troubleshooting- the thing is broken. So I call Howard's since the extended warranty is supposed to cover 7 day service and guess what? Since it's only been 11 months- we have to go through the manufacturer. Now you can tell me I should have read the paperwork more closely and maybe that's true- but this sales associate also out and out lied to us and I am furious. Now we have to wait weeks for the manufacturer, we've lost hundreds of dollars in groceries and I'll spend a fortune eating out until our refrigerator can be repaired. Don't shop her- go literally anywhere else. If you do, don't buy the warranties- they're worthless. These guys are liars and they will do anything to get a sale. You will spend thousands of dollars for products that won't last a year and the customer service will not care about you at all. read more

We had a great experience this week with a purchase of a new washing machine. We wanted a heavy duty unit and had heard good things about - and pre-selected the SpeedQueen brand. Our product specialist Keyshon Taylor did a great job of comparing what we thought we wanted with other models and other similar popular brands. We feel this will outlast any other unit we may have purchased somewhere else. We picked the Speed Queen TR7 because of the features - and selected the Howard's folks to do the delivery & installation. It was in stock and set up for the NEXT DAY. Really? Fantastic. The install team was there exactly when they said they'd be there. In fact they were early - and it was raining! They hustled the old unit out, waited while we cleaned up the dust bunnies, and then got the unit set up, tested, balanced and running in a flash. He also honored the Memorial Day Sale choose your savings "free delivery and free installation". In addition to that, he gave me a warranty discount since we are loyal customers. Thank you Ben for your wonderful service, no hook, no haggling, no game and no playing with the numbers (unlike our experience for the same item at the Howard's Long Beach PCH location -- that will be a separate review). These employees are on commission. Long Beach tried to squeeze the dollar from us so we walked. Ben was calm, cool, collected, fair, easy! After our purchase, it was nearing closing time. Despite this, Ben took the time to help us answer questions regarding another purchase we are considering in the near future. I suggest shopping/purchasing appliances from Howard's when they are NOT engaged in a blowout sales event or tent event is best! Below I detail a great experience and now I present my warning regarding the rebates offered during sales events. those rebates are through another vendor and you must apply for them and keep on them to get your money. it takes a while and the rebates are far less than what you are lead to believe. The no sales tax or the option for other is not worth the trouble. in the end you spend far more for same product you can get any day at other dealers. years ago I bought several major appliances at Howard's--refrigerator and washer/dryer. delivery and price as well as quality products--20 years and still good shape. during a sale event I purchased a stove/oven and began process of a new dishwasher... the selection for dishwashers was minimal and the add ons for installation upped the cost so high that I called to delete that from order. the sales agents were from other locations and did not know the products! what should've taken 10 minutes to do the deal took hours! read more

Tested the cafe induction cooktop at this store. It made a slight hum at the store. Didn't bother me, though I kept wondering why it kept turning off after a while. But good enough for me. Liked it so I bought it. Put it in my kitchen and hooked it up. Makes a loud buzzing noise that is unbearable with every pan I have. I use high quality induction ready Al-Clad. Can't imagine cooking with buzzing sound on the entire time. Went to the store and they told me that is how it is. They said their store only has 110V that's why it's not as loud as mine at home. How would I have known that? This is an experience store and you come in to see and test the appliances to see if you like it. If I had known that it would be super loud when using it at home, would I have bought it? NO. I said this is false advertisement. The salesman said "how is this false advertisement?" I said because this is what you advertise at your store and this is not what I get at home. He said call GE and walked away to help another customer. No exchanges or refunds. Since the space was specific, Diane Dao researched to find a model and trim kit that would most likely fit, but since the dimensions were slightly different, she sent a technician to our home to measure the space to make sure that the replacement microwave would fit before it was ordered. I bought an LG washer and gas dryer at Howard's Appliance on Beach Blvd on a Thursday and they were delivered to my home and installed on Friday, the next day. The salesmen that helped me were Ben and David. Both were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Omar and his assistant delivered the appliances to my home and installed them. I was very anxious about whether the machines would fit in the laundry area in my home. I drove myself crazy worrying (and talking) and measuring the area and the washer and dryer. The salesmen were very patient and understanding. They set up the delivery so we could be sure everything fit. Omar's experience in such matters made the difference...he really knows what he is doing and he knew about an extra 2" in height that solved the problem. My wife and I are very happy with the entire transaction. I would recommend Howard's Appliances in Westminster very highly to anyone looking to buy home appliances at very reasonable prices.
