Shiner Órale on draft is the bomb
    Ron M.

Legacy institution in Shiner is great for enjoying draft beers and watching a game. it's nothing fancy but it's worth a stop.

Such a cool slice of Americana. Peruse the dusty collection of VHS tapes for rent, order a generous pour of Shiner for just about $2, and relax on the outdoor patio among the regulars. Definitely worth a stop if you're out this way.

    Biergarten area!

Howard's is such a cool Texas stop near shiner. The first time we came here was a suggestion from our tour guide at shiner brewery since they can't sell any shiner beer at the brewery. We pulled up and thought "surely this isn't the right place." But yes it is! Walk in to the front counter and you can order fresh shiner beer on tap right at the counter. They also have a cute little "Biergarten" in the back with seating and fans, where you can sit and enjoy your beer. Come in, grab a beer, and hang out for a while and enjoy a quirky little gas station.

Must stop. Have a beer and head out back. Popcorn was also brought out for our enjoyment. Orange and limes for our blue moon and dos exes. To extend this review I'll talk about the basketball goal and how they must have played basketball back here before they put the roof on.

Stopping to have a shiner in shiner, tx. This spot is the place to have one

If you're in shiner and want a beer at a bar then this place is pretty cool to do it at. Only down side is when we stopped we were pretty hungry and they only have gas station food. TV in the back with band playing at times. 5$ minimum on cards and beers were 2$ each!

It's a literal gas station that smells like raw sewage inside. The reviews definitely made it seem like something it's not....

Local place to hangout and have a cold beer. They have seating out back and are open on Sunday's, when the rest of the town is closed.

Howards is the place where I take all shiner visitors. Great little spot to grab a beer and meet the locals. I know, I am one.

It was a nice, hot, muggy day! We enjoyed the BBQ, the beer, and the cocktails. I don't drink beer (but if I did I'm sure it would be Shiner beer) so I was glad to see they had a distillery with pretty much a full bar. Three of us took the tour, which was fascinating! The AC was not working well in some parts of the building that day so part of the tour, we were sweating quite a bit during parts of it because it was a hot day. The BBQ (lean brisket and sausage) was good but their sauce was a bit watery/bland. I believe the spirits were also made by the same people but I haven't seen that brand in other stores before. I had a paloma (they don't have grapefruit soda so it was just made with ruby red grapefruit juice and vodka with some soda water) and a spicy margarita. Both were good but tasted different than a typical vodka or tequila drink to me. The friends I went with have gone there several times and said the drinks/cocktails seemed watered down this time didn't taste the same as they usually do so we wondered if they had changed their spirits or the measurements. I guess I'll have to go back again some day and see if they've gone back to their usual drink recipes!

Open space with lots of seating and enough yard for kids to play and throw footballs (some kids don't realize their aim/catching skill level so beware if you're sitting close to the activity). We booked the distillery tour which was a fun and educational activity. You also get to sample the spirits and walk away with souvenir bag. There's a nice big bar area outside with snacks, you can also order food and more substantial snacks through the restaurant. There is also a nice gift shop with lots of goodies. Everything was yummy. Especially the pretzels. I didn't know I could love pretzels that much! Service was friendly. Definitely a nice way to spend the day off you want to get away.

We happened upon a bar that had a teller of comicdic stories and his helper and thought this to be perfect. The name of said bar was The Pearl and the storyteller a Mr. Daryl Felsberg. We ordered our alcohol. My wife and traveling companion got me a white chocolate Martini, it came with a pearl and a cherry. and I got her a cocktail called Emily Morgan. Both were very good. The service was friendly but only two people running the whole thing and one was the owner or manager who was mostly the greeter. She was friendly but the main bartender was doing most of the work and while impressive I felt sort of bad for him. The set up is you can sit at the bar, then there is a walkway all in a line from the door. When you enter bar is on your right. To the left are tables of various sizes. Right in front of the stage is a table with two comfy chairs. Right past the bar is a small seating nook with comfy chairs. Not a bad overall setup. Bathrooms are through another set of doors. No food but there is a popular pizza place nearby and you can bring that in to eat. The comics were both funny. We bought a CD and T-Shirt from the main guy. The one thing that did go wrong was the stage lighting. It just randomly would switch colors, brightness, sometimes turn off completely. This was their first comedy show there but they have live music so not sure what happened. You got your own water from a glass dispenser which was not the only place that did this. It was a pretty popular option. We also had a shot of peanut butter whiskey. The overall price wasn't bad. It was a nice place, they had live music coming after the comic but we had other plans. This was our only visit to The Pearl on this trip but it was a pleasant rest stop for weary traveller's in need of quenching our thirst and merriment.
