I was navigating to a different food truck to order a salad for my wife and discovered this truck and a few others clustered together with some park benches and public restrooms. I will seek this place out each time I find myself in Buda, and will order from at least one of these trucks each time. Two of the four food trucks were open for lunch on Friday. Parasol and this place, Howdy Boba, which also sells poke bowls. Boba options are plentiful and they also have Thai tea and Vietnamese coffee. We wanted something that wasn't sweet or creamy so we got the lavender black tea boba and it was perfect for us. Poke bowls here offer you three choices: you base, your protein, and your sauce. Base options are rice, salad or a bit of both. Protein options are Ahi tuna, salmon or a blend of tofu and sweet egg. Sauce options are ponzu (like a citrusy soy sauce), sweet unagi (like a thick, sweet soy sauce), Gochujang (Korean chili sauce similar to Sriracha), sesame oil or ginger. My bowl was as beautiful as it was tastey! They top each bowl with a variety of flavorful toppings. A few of the toppings were non-Japanese (kimchi, pineapple and tomato), but that was fine with me, and the fried shallots were a very nice touch. Prices are good. Boba is $5.95 on its own but cheaper with the combo, which gives you a boba and a poke bowl for $16. I also love their "Howdy Boba" name and their armadillo logo. Very cute! So... would I come here again? Absolutely! I would give five stars, but I'm absolutely spoiled on poke and boba, having lived in California for so long. Still, this is a great place! read more

I was easily influenced when I came here. It had been popped up on my IG and I really wanted to go. The downside is it is in Buda, and I live in Austin, so it took, and I wasn't disappointed when I got there. While looking at the menu I was torn between the Strawberry Lychee Milk Tea & the Strawberry Fruit Tea. Instead, being the creature of habit, I got the Butterfly Lemonade and it came with exploding boba. I enjoyed it. My daughter got the Sparkle Juice which she chose Strawberry. She enjoyed it and it had sparkles which she enjoyed and I thought it was great. There was seating outside the trailer but sadly the Texas sun was boiling and we waited in the car for our order. My kids loved the Taro milk tea, and I'm a sucker for their mermaid drink (limited time) and their strawberry lychees milk tea, plus their taro milk tea, and their strawberry tea. I was really excited when I saw there was a boba place in the area! There is a parking lot behind the trucks so it's easy to park and grab food or a drink from this food truck area. Their menu is limited but all of the items sounded really good! They were out of regular boba and said it wouldn't be ready for about 30 minutes. I decided on a brown sugar boba and strawberry tea so I didn't have to wait! The strawberry tea was good and the boba was also really good! The only negative was that it took about 15 minutes to get my drink, which seemed like too long for the 3 drinks that were ahead of mine. Came from central austin to try it and it's honestly pretty good! My boyfriend and I got the strawberry pulp and the strawberry lychee. But honestly, it was disappointing. I went to the window at their grand opening and expected a smile but was greeting with a silent stare, waaay below expectations. It just felt judgmental, more-so, when i received the boba, my expectations had basically shattered. I just ordered the original with tiger stripes, something simple and i figured it'd be well made since its popular choice. The drink was okay. nothing crazy. really beat my expectations, it was very watery, not very sweet, and i really didnt understand the flavor it was going for. All that aside, i really enjoy the cups they use, its a solid amount of boba that could fill your craving (if you for one, actually enjoy it). plus the cup can be reused. Best boba I had in Kyle/Buda area, love their cute cups and the fact that the drinks don't include ice! Almost every single boba place we been too has more ice than drink in it. My iced drink was warm, which is a good sign means they make it fresh but if that's the case needs more ice. I think customer service was good, owner and worker were both nice, just a little slow on service which I understand from being new.
