My husband and I LOVE this store! We both had hats from this store that we bought a year ago and Danny (on of the salesman) helped clean and reshape our hats and he was so nice! He also gave us great advice on our hats and their care, and one thing we really liked was he wasn't trying to sell us something new, he was just a friendly person overall! Best boot buying experience ever. The owner Lynn and associate Emma both went above and beyond in providing over the top customer service. I am an out of state buyer but Howell Western Wear went out of their way to help me with my decision on which pear of boots to choose, even texting a demo video of the boots I finally settled on. After months of buying different boots online and having to return them all, they helped me settle on a pair of Black Jack Boots, and they exceeded my expectations in quality, fit, style and all at a great price. Great customer service. I went in to have some boots stretched, they had me try them on, walk in them, and then studied the boot. Because of a zipper, they didn't recommend using a mechanical stretcher, but did have a spray that the sold me. The spray worked very well. They know their stuff, and are very helpful and friendly! Sometimes we cop out of interaction and immediate gratification in favor of staying in our pajamas and guessing at what will fit best, look best, and feel best online. But I draw the line, when it comes to boots, and because of their endless complexities it's worth throwing on some jeans and heading in. In this case I was on the hunt for a shop open on Sunday with a good American made selection. This particular day the owner opened up shop on Sunday because of the Melon Fest and I couldn't have been luckier. From the get go, she sized my feet carefully, noting the size differences, width, and flatness (all fun additions to the annoyance of shoe shopping for me). And this kind woman spent two hours finding the perfect fit. We tried women's boots, then men's, then back again and we ended up landing on a gorgeous pair of Lucheese's with a foot insert that worked like a charm. After finding the perfect pair, she made sure I walked for awhile in them. She then showed me how to weatherproof and protect them before sending me on my way. One thing I forgot to mention that everyone needs to know is that the prices here really are great. She has everything priced so low that it is definitely worth the trip! What's left that matters about going out to a store is the experience. What makes it rewarding is great customer service and an exciting new pair of boots to take home. Howell Western wear is the best. I have been coming here for 9 years now. The owner will take the time to personally fit you for boots, which could take 30 minutes. She also will customize your boots for the perfect fit. I have never met someone so passionate about her craft and with such an expertise. Coming here really does make you feel like family and you leave with the best fitting boots possible. The store also will do any custom order that you can ever want. Recently I've made some custom orders and not only was I personally fit by the owner but she worked with me each step of the way and sent me pictures and updates of the boots in progress. She took a somewhat boring process and made it exciting. I could be happier with the half dozen pairs of boots I have now. It is also worth noting they they have an excellent selection of up to date equestrian clothing as well as wearer wear. We arrived about 5 minutes before closing, needing a western hat for my daughter's first show the next day. The salesperson (owner?) paid no mind to the closing time and spent great quality time with us educating us about the hats and their care, and getting the perfect fit for my daughter's hard to fit head. And their everyday price was equal to the clearance price of the chain store hat we thought we'd have to make do with! Because of the late time, we didn't browse the rest of the store on that trip, but it looked chock full of drool-worthy western wear.
