Pick-up on weekends is 5-6pm, and they didn't even show up to return her to them until after 6 when they arrived at 5pm. When she went, she was clean, her bowls were clean, and her blanket was freshly washed. They picked her up after a 2-night stay none of her food was gone, none of her treats were given, and her blanket had to be tossed. The blanket smelt so bad of PISS that it took could take your breath away !!! We had to take her for a bath because she smelt like she slept in a puddle of PISS !!! This place has a good rating, but it shouldn't even have a license. If you love your pet, don't take them here. They are not treated as well as the other reviews claim. I feel so sad for her she should have received the PROPER CARE.

We got pictures and updates our whole trip, and when our pick up time had to be moved because we got stuck in traffic, it wasn't a big deal. The little boarding report card was adorable, and because our pup has nervous/excitement pees, Denise referred us to a trainer/dog psychologist that might be able to help. Our other dogs, boarded other places, have come home with cuts, ticks, smelling bad, or almost all the food we sent - this is the first time we haven't had anything to remedy once we got home. I have boarded my dog there for weekend trips and longer vacations, and I always feel that my dog is in safe hands. The owners live on-site and keep a watchful eye on things. The facility is kept very clean and neat, and the kennel is always prepared for my dog so that the dropoff process is quick and smooth. I've recommended Taravale to many of my friends and I still would not hesitate to do so. The daily rate is also lower than average, so it's a good value.

However, be aware that they require…read morevaccinations beyond what is required by the state and other boarding facilities (leptospirosis, which is an optional vax that our MI vet doesn't recommend beyond puppy round). That may be a plus for some, but it was a nuisance for us and resulted in our reservations being cancelled when we went to drop off and us being left without a boarding solution. Our dogs had successfully boarded multiple times at other NY and MI kennels with the standard vaccines, including the week previously at a different kennel in upstate NY. This miscommunication could have been avoided if Paw Prints had email so we could have sent our vaccine records ahead of time and discovered the discrepancy, vs finding out when we arrived. I would recommend that they revisit their vax policy to be in line with other facilities and general expectations, or at the very least invest in website/email in order to communicate that their requirements differ from other boarding facilities. When we spoke on the phone we discussed Rabies, DA2P, and bordetella but I do not recall them mentioning a requirement for lepto-- again, email/web communication would have avoided this negative experience.
